LUMOS FLOAT Review: First 360° Rotatable Projector For Movie Nights on Walls or Ceilings!

Tuesday, September 09, 2025

Taking time out of your busy schedule to watch a movie, a show or two has been really hard these days. Work for most is getting in the way, but it certainly the same level of sadness if you don't have your own projector at home. These days, it's essential because going to theaters have already been a little troublesome and expensive. Add to that, transportation costs, overpriced food, and that kid kicking your chair too.

I've featured LUMOS a few times here on the site and have lived to enjoy it so much that I get to use it regularly for family gatherings and parties. Folks often ask me where I got it. Well let me get you in on a secret, you can actually purchase this online and have it delivered to your home conveniently. They also have a new one called LUMOS FLOAT, a one of a kind 360 degree rotatable home cinema projector which we installed just a week ago. See, my room needed an upgrade because I've always wanted to have one installed for movie nights or YouTube sessions because I love watching anime series off the app.

The LUMOS FLOAT is pretty light and compact. No more heavy and bulky projectors!

For starters, installing this LUMOS FLOAT is quite easy. You can mount this off a regular tripod or choose to put this on a wall or ceiling. Think about the possibilities. If you put this above your bed, you can beam it to the wall in front or even use the ceiling if you are lying on your back. This means you can be in the most comfortable position you can imagine. Like watching the best shows without straining your neck.

They call this the SkyTrack, a built-in bracket that makes it even easier to mount the projector with hooks from 3M without the need to drill your walls or ceiling. You can then have it pointed to your preferred position, totally convenient for those who are not handy with building stuff (especially those IKEA shelves you've been meaning to finish months back LOL). The LUMOS FLOAT can be projected to a wall so you can get a 150-inch screen. Since my room is a bit small, I could take it a little around 1.5 meters away from it and I could enjoy a 50-inch screen. It's super easy to set it up that way and looks crisp at 1080p quality. It has 3000 lumens which makes it brighter than usual, I've seen no washed-out parts so far, the video quality is quite awesome!

The LUMOS FLOAT uses its remote to focus, way more convenient now since it's not manually done. The device also has built in apps like Netflix, Wi-Fi connection and Bluetooth if you want to connect it to the internet or your device. It has Wireless Mirror Casting, so you can easily see what you have on your phone. I even watched several videos from my phone without any hitches. The sound quality was also good and loud enough to fill the room. With it, you'll feel those shows and movies would be more immersive. You'll start to fall in love with those nights you'd spend with loved ones, your family, and with yourself.

If the video looks a little imbalanced, it's easy to access the settings and adjust the projector. You can also adjust the zoom to your liking. The device also has a USB port so if you've got media you need to access from a drive, this is plug and play. So far, I'm addicted watching anime on it and several Filipino series. I've also been watching several action movies which felt like I'm in the actual scene in full volume. No wonder a lot of people get hooked with the LUMOS projectors. This isn't just me, a lot of folks swear by it and I'm sure if you experience it first hand, you'll know what I'm talking about.

Here's a little preview of the LUMOS FLOAT:

The LUMOS FLOAT also comes in 3 colors. You can choose Gold, Silver or Pink. I prefer the Gold since I have several gold accents in my room and it goes pretty well with the white walls. This costs Php 4,999 for the regular while the Smart version (with the apps) cost Php 7,999. It also comes with a 1-year local warranty so if you run into concerns, they'd be able to take care of it.

If you want to know more, visit their official site http://www.lumosprojector.ph/float and see what difference it makes on your entertainment arsenal. Prepare to change your views about projectors and be obsessed!

Real TUFF Cleaning Products from Personal Collection

Sunday, October 03, 2021

It's been a chore cleaning the house these days, I'm not quite used to it but I'm doing my best to spruce up everything at home including my toilet and bath upstairs, and my own room. I ran out of supplies and found a package on my doorstep, some cool products from Personal Collection. It also looks like a cool red house! The products are also familiar, they call it TUFF!

Personal Collection Direct Selling Inc. a direct selling company that offer quality products through member dealers, this in turn would give them livelihood especially through these tough times. I'm in need of things that would clean different types of surfaces. With the pandemic around, we can't be 100 percent sure we're germ free... but they brought in three products that can eliminate viruses. The TUFF TBC (Toilet Bowl Cleaner) is a hospital grade cleaning and disinfection product, the TUFF MSC (Surface Cleaner) cleans dirt, stains in different types of surfaces, and TUFF Germban eliminates odor causing bacteria and leaves a long lasting fresh scent.

I actually had the TUFF TBC which has a "Killer Virex Formula" even before they sent me one. It kills 99.99 percent of bacteria, yeasts and molds which would take care of our bathroom tiles that often get affected by it. The same goes with TUFF MSC which can be used in our entertainment area, leather seats and electronic appliances included. This TUFF GERMBAN though would be special as it'll stay as a staple in my room so I could clean up things I bring in and keep it smelling like Japan's Sakura Blossoms, imagine waking up to that!

This also keeps the smell, bacteria and germs away so make sure you have one in your room (aside from the usual cleaning) and this will make it even better. If you need one, order from their dealers and branches. You can check all their products and locations at personalcollection.com.ph. Or you can always order online because they're also on Shopee and Lazada, probably a lot of dealers near you too. Don't take my word for it, try it!

Meanwhile, I'll enjoy my TUFF GERMBAN.

Discovery Suites Ortigas this Fathers Day

Wednesday, June 10, 2015

Hi there! Glad to see you reading this article today! You see, Fathers Day is just around the corner, June 21st to be exact.  If you're like me and you haven't made plans yet, be happy that at least you're not alone. You call him Dad, Papa, Itay or Tatay, and he's practically the most important man in your life. He's provided a lot for you, worked countless hours just so he could put food on the table and send you to school. I guess just like me, you're trying to at least see how you can repay him for what he's done for your family. It's also a way to tell him how much you love him for just being who he is. Now that you're thinking about what I'm thinking, maybe you should treat him out for lunch, or maybe for dinner. Looking for a place? Have you been to Discovery Suites in Ortigas? If not, this might be the opportune time to book it. Why? Check out what we had for lunch this weekend at 22 Prime, Discovery Suites Ortigas' premier restaurant!

Amuse Bouche, French term for mouth teaser this likely Oyster dish is creamy, crunchy and fresh like the sea. It reminds us of Oyster Rockefeller without obviously going there. This is just the start.

Dyna Prime's Seafood Gumbo, made from Roux which is a base for most Cajun and Creole dishes plus tons of seafood pieces like lobster, shrimp and oysters. They wanted us to have something that came from New Orleans, Louisiana because it's hearty, spicy and would be something that Dads would love.

Grilled Road King Prawns is just another addition to the creole spicy food they wanted to serve. It's got the right amount of kick, spice and served with a side of cornmeal, roasted asparagus spears, salsa and cherry tomatoes . It's fresh, spicy, dreamy to actually have a bite of. Really good!

This is the Street Glide NY Strip Loin Steak served with Baked Broccoli topped with cheese (Broccoli Gratin), and a side of twice baked potatoes. Do you remember the time 22 Prime served me the best slice of beef I had in my entire life? (Photo here) I haven't had anything come close to that yet, but since this comes from their restaurant, I think we know now why they make it so good in this side of town. People should know, and your Dad might be a good judge of that.

To finish it off, here's their Molten Chocolate Rum Cake. Oozing out the cake's center is chocolate ganache that's not too sweet. Lovely chocolate syrup, slivers of strawberry, a shard of wafer and a dash of confectioner's sugar spiked with rum. It was a perfect way to end lunch that afternoon but they've got something up their sleeves, I knew it!

Oh yes, how can machismo and these super creole, cajun and road trip kind of concept make sense without connecting them to an iconic muscled vehicle brand such as Harley Davidson. Discovery Suites Ortigas is happy to have your Dad at their hotel and pose with these monstrous machines at the lobby. If you own a Harley Davidson motorbike,  you also get free parking space at Discovery Suites from June 20 to 21 if you plan to celebrate Father’s Day at this place. Promo rates for this Father’s Day menu costs Php 1,500 and is available on June 20-21 for lunch and dinner. You can also get the Junior Serendipity Suite for only Php 5,500 or the one bedroom suite at Php 6,500 if you want to spend a staycation there. It also includes buffet breakfast (at Restaurant 5) and FREE movie passes at SM Cinemas for two. You see, it shouldn't be complicated. Just make Dad have the best meal he could every have plus a relaxing stay at Discovery Suites Ortigas. Isn't that love?

Call them for reservations at 719-8888 or simply email them at rsvn@discovery.com.ph. Hurry before the place becomes fully booked!

Azumi Boutique Hotel: Where The Sun Also Shines Down South!

Thursday, June 19, 2014

I've seen the sun rise in the east but I didn't know it would also look this good when the sun sets down south in Alabang. This right here is going to be my home and office for two days. This is the Azumi Boutique Hotel. I think they have about 16 floors including the Penthouse which I'll tell you about in a bit plus 3-4 floors for parking and a full restaurant in the ground floor. Let's check in shall we?

The Room

This is my room, they call it the Queen Room probably because its got a queen sized bed. I was alone when I checked in but this is good for two (or three if you have a kid hanging around). The wood panels, cabinet and bed is probably done to present a more simple, minimalistic Japanese looking theme.

You may think the room might be a tad small in square area but I didn't even feel cramped because they designed the interior with mirrors and transparent glass (on the shower) which made the illusion of a very continuity conducing place.

You've got the basic toiletries available; soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush and towels. Don't worry about the open glass panel because there are blinds on that same spot. It would be a good thing for honeymooners though, I can imagine. Aside from that, one feature that I like about this is the Rain Shower. It doesn't feel like high pressured water is pointing straight at your skin. The water temperature is also perfect if you want to relax in a hot shower.

You also have 2 complementary bottles of water and a full fridge/mini bar. The drinks cost 50/80 bucks but if you prefer other drinks, there's a Puregold, 7-11 and various stores around Azumi Boutique Hotel that you can go to for whatever you need.

You can prefer to close the shutters but if you look around, I've got a quite nice city view. If you see the buildings in the center, that's actually Alabang Town Center. You can shop the whole day and just go back to your room whenever you want to. I also had lunch at Nathaniel's which is just by the road in front of Azumi Boutique Hotel for variety. They Puto Pao and Palabok is legendary, I took home lots of it.

Then I went a few floors up. Then... I thought I was dreaming.

The Infinity Lap Pool

The Penthouse has got this huge lap pool. It's like an oasis around the concrete jungle of Alabang. I love this place so much that I'll surely go back and swim in the evening. It's not to crowded either, so it's the perfect thing if you want a break from the city without even leaving it. It's also got a function room on the same floor that can probably fit around 50-100 people, as a matter of fact there was a party going on when I went there hence no shots. You can get arrangements to rent it off with the Azumi Boutique Hotel staff. Call if you must!

Then I got the chance to have an even better treat...

I got to do a bit of night swimming. I also got to see this beautiful city at night while resting on the edge of their pool 16 stories high! No selfies when I'm half naked of course! It was relaxing, really cold and so nice up there. I called it a night.

Then the next morning I was able to walk around the hotel and check out what they have on the ground floor.

This is Romulo Cafe. I'm a huge fan of this restaurant especially the one in Jupiter Street, Makati. I love how they put a modern twist to the usual Filipino food they serve. They don't make it too fancy, in fact I can actually categorize this as a comfort food place because I'd love to indulge with whatever they have on the menu. The stay in Azumi Boutique Hotel that I got had a buffet breakfast along with it. I'd like to recommend you get a lot of the tapa they had on the table. It just had the right amount of seasoning and not too salty. Loved that part.

The hotel also has their own dedicated Nail Spa that occupies the huge right wing of the building's ground floor. It's perfect for Mothers, daughters or friends who want to have a nail sparty and bond over making themselves beautiful.

The Lobby and Checking Out

Their lobby is classy, fit with neutral colored accents and filled with chairs and sofas that are very comfy. I checked out at 12PM and was expecting a long queue on front, but no. They even knew my name when I gave them my keys. After that, they didn't even have me stand and wait for it on the counter and asked me to sit patiently on the sofa. Everything was settled in around 5 minutes. I headed on to buy "pasalubong" (gifts) for people at home and bade good bye. I love impeccable service.

Azumi Boutique Hotel would be a great place to start if you want to do business in the south. I was relaxed, I had fun and was yearning for more. I think I understand the charm of this quaint place.. they make everything easy and accessible for you. They don't make things hard and give you your money's worth. I've checked the prices online at Agoda and their rooms cost around 2,5K - 4,1K a night. The other rooms are called the King Room (which has the King sized bed and a larger bath area) and the Garden Room (which has got it's own lawn that's almost big as my room). I think you can hold small parties there and entertain guests on a good sunny day.

For what it's worth, Azumi Boutique Hotel definitely was a good choice for business but it didn't feel like I was there for work. I felt very comfortable and right at home. This just means I have to travel more even within city limits, into places I haven't been to in Manila. Azumi Boutique Hotel ranks high in my books and I hope I get to spend time with my friends there soon. I still feel the Infinity Lap Pool is still so inviting! I didn't know the sun would shine like this down south!

Azumi Boutique Hotel is located at 2205 Market Street, Madrigal Business Park, Phase III Alabang 1780 Muntinlupa City. You can call them for reservations at 8699888 or email reservations@azumi.ph for any inquiries.

Quick Stomach by CHADO The Tea Room

Monday, March 17, 2014

It was a hot afternoon that greeted us in the new Federal Land developed property along Macapagal Avenue called Bluebay Walk. It houses one of the nicest and newest food joints in Pasay City called Quick Stomach. This area would be an ideal future shopping destination and the placement of these food establishments beats the hour since they will garner the crowd both coming from the Mall of Asia and the planned PAGCOR City.

Longganisa with Rice and Egg

Quick Stomach serves all day breakfast, Filipino dishes and more. That afternoon, we were treated to their specials and favorites. Almost all of them were served with a side of Sitaw (yard long beans/green beans); although they say this would actually differ as what's freshly available in the market; makes sense.

Tapa with Rice and Egg

There are also several SILOG servings that are available but regularly they all serve this with plain white rice. It's healthier I guess, but they have different cooked rice varieties available on the menu. Longanisa, Tapa, Tocino, Ham, Tuna/Pork Sisig, Lechon, Tinapa, how else can you resist not having breakfast/lunch with that on the menu?

Oh wait! Here's the Executive Meals!
