Artistry, Fun and Music at Fête de la Musique 2022 Celebrations Across the Country!

Friday, June 24, 2022

Everyone loves music, and we've enjoyed in the Philippines immensely through Fête de la Musique. They're back in a big way as pandemic restrictions ease and live performances are going back, they're doing it in different parts of the country. Whilst we've been locked down the past few years and enjoyed it online, they promise to bring French artists in like DJ Blutch, Marc Fichel among others. They will be collaborating with our home grown talents, so there's really something to look forward to this year!

As with the previous years, this will be 100 percent FREE and you will see artists like Autotelic, Leanne and Naara, Chets, Lola Amour, Syd Hartha, Dilaw, Eloisa, and Brass Pas Pas Pas Pas perform on stage for everyone's enjoyment. This is presented to you by Alliance Francaise de Manille together with the Embassy of France to the Philippines and Micronesia, B-Side Productions in cooperation with the Department of Tourism -  Philippines. Make sure you catch the schedules by following their social channels particularly their Facebook page located at https://www.facebook.com/FetePH. Locations include Manila, Cebu, Siargao among others. Make sure you're there as there are other local musicians and artists joining in the fun!

Here's some excerpts from the press conference a few days ago which was hosted at Sofitel Manila.

Our Quezon City Blogventure!

Sunday, October 11, 2015

Quezon City's 75th Diamond Jubilee just had to be seen online and we're up to something good this weekend so we roamed the streets of this glorious city. We went to three different places yesterday with my fellow Team Suspects (Rodel, Earth and Ruth) plus a couple more bloggers (Angelyn and Marco Demo, Gracee, Iyane, Kat) so people could see the nice things the city has to offer. Here's a rundown of things we went to yesterday. ETON Centris, Bantayog ng mga Bayani and Banawe's Chinatown. Although I wasn't able to hop on to Chinatown, I was able to cover the Mardi Gras thingy in Tomas Morato which is equally spectacular!

See what I mean? Now this is just the tip of the iceberg, we're also going to watch a rock concert with Parokya Ni Edgar and Rocksteddy this 7PM at the Quezon City Memorial Circle. Best of all, it's FREE so just bring your friends and family. Come one, come all!

It's My City: Quezon City on it's Diamond Jubilee

Monday, October 05, 2015

I've lived in this city my whole life. A dream actually sparked its inception when Manuel L. Quezon thought of putting all the government agencies, several residential and housing projects in one place. This is Quezon City - and we're celebrating it's 75th year with a grand Diamond Jubilee celebration. The local government kicked it off a few days ago in Quezon City Memorial Circle.

The New Manila house of the great former president now has an exact replica at the QCMC grounds and sits right across the Quezon City Hall. It's accessible via the underpass right in front of it. It's called the Quezon Heritage House and it'll serve as a museum to house memorabilia and tours from hereon.

Aside from these new structures, there will be several events in various places inside the city that you should watch out for. Tomorrow October 6 til October 9 is the start of Quezon City International Pink Festival which will happen in Gateway Mall Cinema 1. Today until the 11th, Novena masses will be done in the QC Hall lobby every 12 noon dedicated to QC's patron Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary of La Naval Manila. The state of the city address with Mayor Herbert Bautista will be on October 12 at the Carlos Albert Hall in Quezon City Hall. On the 19th is the Manuel L. Quezon Gawad Parangal Night where the city's most outstanding citizens will be awarded at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The Diamond Jubilee Mardi Gras where you can see 500 costumed festival dancers from all over the Philippines in a parade right in Tomas Morato (I'll be there btw!). Plus the QC Grand Parade of Lights from 7PM to 11PM on the same day. The same parade of lights will take a different route on October 11 and will culminate un a QCROCKS@75 celebration in Quezon Memorial Circle where they'll put up a stage where Parokya ni Edgar, Rocksteddy, stand up comedians and various artists to end the night. We'll be posting live updates for that btw! So follow kumagcow on twitter, instagram, facebook and youtube!

We also did a photoshoot during the event last week and we can't wait to tell you more about my city! Are you guys excited?! I know I am! :)

Future TV Experience Made Better: Pinoy Real TV; Atin Ito!

Sunday, April 14, 2013

A few years ago I've heard a lot about public TV being a defunct medium. Although that would still be something that remains to be seen, the trend seems to be that way. But really, there could be a few things that would limit this to happen like hardware, platform, Internet connection rates... the obvious reasons. They were pretty optimistic though when I got the chance to attend their press conference a few days ago.

What is Pinoy Real TV? It's an Over The Top (OTT) TV channel that lets you watch shows anytime, anywhere on a variety of mediums that include PC's, laptops, tablets and other mobile devices that is set to conquer the nation by storm in the next few years. In the era where digital is dictating how Filipino viewers are expected to behave in having entertainment at the edge of their fingertips, Pinoy Real TV brings in new, fast and variety in real time on the Internet. Does this mean it's going to change the whole landscape of our watching habits? Who knows!

Yes, you are right! It's A Very Special Love!

How about the second one?

You are correct! It Takes A Man and A Woman! =)

Then after a few years of not seeing them... you just found out that they suddenly end up in SPLITSVILLE!

OH NO MIGGY MONTENEGRO AND LAIDA MAGTALAS ARE NO MORE?? OMG OMG!

Fear not because this time, they are going to try it once again in this film called

IT TAKES A MAN AND A WOMAN!

We were there in the Grand Press Conference and had first dibs on the stars walking down the red carpet!

OPM Means: We Are One at the 18th Philippine Hot Air Balloon Fiesta!

Sunday, February 17, 2013

This weekend was great. I saw some of the most reputable OPM stalwarts this country has ever known in one place. Good enough to spark my interest in singing again but that's another story. Well it looks like they are putting their foot where their mouth is when they launched "OPM Means We Are One!" at posh Annabel's Restaurant in Tomas Morato in Quezon City.

Fresh from the success of their Valentine's day concert, Ogie Alcasid the current President of OPM (Organization ng mga Pilipinong Mangaawit) together with 7 other music and industry orgs is proud to announce that they will be having a 2 day all OPM music festival coinciding with the 18th International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta at the OMNI Aviation Complex, Clark Field Pampanga. The concert will start at exactly 6PM and will be done after the air shows and balloon launches then ends at 9PM. This will benefit a couple or more charities that OPM and their partners have been helping these past few years. You know they can't do it alone. This is a good cause and you have the power to help them help others just by watching the show. Tickets are going to be sold at only PhP 250.00 only which you can purchase at the gate. It's that easy!

American Idol Season 12 Starts on Star World Philippines!

Monday, January 21, 2013

Starworld Philippines just made my evening extra special when they held a viewing party at posh URBN at the Fort Strip in Bonifacio Global City a few days ago. I had so much fun with media and celebrity friends as we all watched Season 12 of American Idol. Yes! You heard that right, they just started!

This season's esteemed judges Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson. American Idol is still hosted by Ryan Seacrest.

American Idol on Star World!

Thursday, January 10, 2013

Yes ladies and gentlemen you are not seeing things. American Idol is going to premier on Star World when it all starts on January 17th in the year of our Lord 2013. It's been bugging me quite a bit why they kept on showing the reruns quite often on the channel since the holidays but I bet it'll be better since the judges changed, some resigned and some just plain left. Now we end up with Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson. Will they fare better than last season's showing?

I was so fortunate enough to see Jessica Sanchez last year during an intimate event with Bench and the experience was surreal! I also am dying to know the details about Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey's fight which quite stirred a controversy in the past few months. Jessica Sanchez and Colton Dixon are slated to have a Valentine concert in Manila too. I also know there's another FilAm contestant somewhere so I really have to watch this season. Are you guys excited? Well I am, and I can't wait to see the show on the 17th! Good thing I can watch it on Star World! Just a remote, popcorn, a cold beer,,, ahh this is the life!
