This season's esteemed judges Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson. American Idol is still hosted by Ryan Seacrest.
They even made us choose sides, I fell on the TEAM MARIAH (though I like both of them). While I also see a lot of them choosing TEAM NICKI MINAJ but the one that surprised us all was the feud between these two right from the get go. It wasn't really clean fun because as far as bitchy goes, they've got that in the bag.
The contestants were a mix. Some were really promising like the lady who had some kind of hearing loss but when she sang it was like Jessie J all over. I also liked the other girl who sang a country song, pretty good. She's like a cross between Nicki Minaj and Dolly Parton. Oh you get it. While on the guys, there were good looking ones to the delight of Nicki Minaj and oh boy she was really happy to see single ones on the auditions. She flirted a lot using a fake British accent LOL! I like a few African Americans (like the one begging in the subway) but the others were just so so for my taste. Maybe there will be more impressive ones on other cities.
Meanwhile, they never ran out of crazy people again this season. They had the usual monotone ones, tone deaf ones and those who are just plainly not getting it. I don't know why but America doesn't seem to be running out of them. I think they will still have that portion in the finale where they will show these special ones at the finale for comic relief.
For what its worth, I had a grand time with friends from the media and the blogging community while watching American Idol on Star World Philippines. I wonder who will end up in the finale? Will there be another Filipino American that we'll be rooting for like last season? I hope! American Idol will be shown every Thursdays and Fridays at 6PM 8PM and 11PM only on Star World!
