Loved the Vitasoy Plus Milky

Monday, May 24, 2021

I've been addicted to Soy Milk which I often get from stores or the regular Taho man who frequent my neighborhood as he carries around several bottles together with the soy curds. Vita Soy has been very familiar to me especially the bottled ones which are available in supermarkets, those fridges just look so nice with them so I had to make sure I take them home for snacks and stuff. I don't usually think about the health benefits, but apparently there is. It's a good source of potassium and several vitamins and minerals. It's also as nutritious as cow's milk but it has lesser calories, so it's somehow a more nutritious version of it.

I tried the Vitasoy Plus Milky which is a new a product of Vitasoy-Universal Robina Corporation (VURC). It has a much cleaner, creamier consistency and flavor which I liken to milk as it is more neutral. I mixed it up with coffee and it didn't affect the flavor, in a sense, it actually enhanced it as it made it appear with some nutty notes, a thing I actually like to happen.

This actually is good for me since I don't have to add sugar, it has 2.4% per service so it's enough as it is for a drink. I even drink it up as is with ice and blitzed veggies so I have my daily allowance of vitamins and minerals, which you can do also for kids. It also contains very little saturated fat but more calcium, and overall, a pretty good alternative to usual cow's milk. It's pretty good for vegans and I've seen my friends enjoy this while watching movies rather than soda.

It's also best for anyone who's lactose intolerant, as it has none of that whatsoever. It's why I actually loved it, and along with that, a really nice alternative to overly sweet stuff I usually have during small snacks. Best of all, it's quite cheap at Php 85 which you can buy in leading groceries, Shopee and Lazada. If you want to know more about it, see http://www.vitasoy.com/ or VitasoyPH on FB today!

Try The Vitasoy Plus Milky Banana Oat Smoothie

Tuesday, March 30, 2021

It's so hot out today and I'm pretty exhausted because of the weather. I wanted to have something real cool and filling so I wouldn't just collapse on the side of the road. I've tried Vitasoy Plus Milky a couple weeks ago and honestly, it was one of the most refreshing drinks I've tried this season.

It doesn't feel much different from actual creamy milk but a little nutty, so I was actually cool with it if it came into something fancy like a drink with things on it. This is a smoothie recipe from the good folks at Vitasoy. It also takes a few ingredients at home to make something real good.

Here are the ingredients:

1/2 cup oats (which you can blend or soak in milk overnight)
1 Cavendish banana
1 tbsp Pure Honey
1 cup Vitasoy Plus Milky

Just put ingredients in a blender and wait for a few minutes. You can leave it more than 2 minutes if you would like to make it smooth, but if you would like it a little chunky, a blitz of a minute would be so fine. You can even play around with the recipe by using your own favorite fruit or fruits in season.

If you're in the Philippines, you can use mangoes, add soy milk and it's going to be one of the best things you'll ever have as refreshments. There are more recipes over at Vitasoy Philippines Facebook page, you should go get info there!

CPFI Launches 100% Plant Based unMEAT

Tuesday, February 23, 2021

Century Pacific Food Incorporated just launched unMEAT, their plant based meat alternative which is now available in Swift Meat E-Tindahan outlets and in Shopee and Lazada. If you are looking for branches, you may find them via bit.ly/unmeatshopee and bit.ly/unmeatlazmall or in Kitchen Marks bit.ly/unMEATxKMShopee and bit.ly/unMEATxKMLazada.

CPFI is a global company with a Philippine footprint. We are aware that there are players in this place, but we are offering an alternative. Price is close to actual meat, the look and taste of meat without any preservatives. At Century, they have some of the most variety of products. Unmeat is plant based, protein rich, has fiber, and has the same benefits as with other plant based burgers. Our r&d worked hard to make this the tastiest but with less than ten ingredients.

Their production has been done in Wenger Manufacturing Inc. and their goal was to find something that had texture, the feel and flavor of actual meat. Century Pacific met with them and found how good they had. In 2008, they were already attending plant based proteins and wanted to have something that has the flavor of meat, but with all plant alternatives. They use NON GMO soy products for these. Symrise Flavor decode, design and deliver flavors that would work for the consumer. It also lasts 9 months under frozen conditions. They cost it quite nicely too at Php 135 for the unMEAT Burger Patties (226g). The unMEAT Sausages (225g) cost the same while the unMEAT Nuggets (200g) is at Php 120 and the unMEAT Giniling (200g) is at Php 120 which means it's all quite affordable.

So, will you try this out and cook your usual dishes with it?

Wingstop Outs New Asian Chicken Flavors!

Sunday, November 15, 2015

It's my personal favorite chicken wing place and I love how they continue to innovate when it comes to flavors. Not only that, they've got the Asian twice fried chicken wings (I think) already on their menu. This is where they think East Meets Flavor and we tried them out a few days ago in their Glorietta 2 branch. I already love the existing 10 spicy and savory flavors, so this addition to the menu was a welcome sight. Now, they've come out with flavors that are only released in the Philippines catering to the Filipino palate and isn't found anywhere else but here!

The Honey Barbecue tasted really good. Aside from the extra crunchy exterior of the chicken, I think this one tasted like hickory but a tad sweeter since pinoys actually love that. Good news is that Wingstop has Chipotle Rice available now so if just eating wings isn't enough for you, go ahead and have 2 servings of rice so you can fill up!

The Spicy Soy in my books is the second hottest wing they have on the menu. If my hunch is correct, they've got the chicken covered in sweet dark soy then added the same pepper spice they use with the Atomic flavor which they originally have on the menu. It's like East Meets the HOT west, and it works!

For the garlic lovers, this one's called Honey Garlic. You still have that lovely sweet flavor but with an intense garlic kick. It reminded me of a sweet adobo without the tang. Quite nice actually.

This was voted best with the people I was dining with at that time. I think they liked it because it was light but still have that sweet salty soy flavor. This is after all called Korean Soy, which in my books tasted real good. Can't compare it with the popular brand though because they only serve wing parts. I bet this might give them (other Korean chicken brands) a run for their money.

Oh and if that ain't enough, Wingstop also has other things on the menu. The Loaded Nachos, The Loaded Fries, the fried Taro Chips, and my favorite Onion Rings. Make sure you eat them while it's hot! Everything in Wingstop of course is freshly cooked when you order. Now that you've got Asian Wings added, you've got more choices when you dine in a Wingstop branch near you.

By the way, I always frequent their branch in Glorietta 2, Greenhills, Trinoma. but they have other branches in Bonifacio Stop Over.

Live Blog: Bon Chon Launches New Crunchy Garlic Chicken

Tuesday, March 10, 2015

It's been a while since I've eaten in Bon Chon Chicken. The reason being because my favorite store in Eastwood is now kinda far from where I live. I used to have lunch there almost everyday and I pace myself so I could take in a couple of wings, thigh and drumsticks before I go back to work. Aside from that, I also love the Japchae but I am trying to refrain from carbs so I'm always concentrating on chicken when in Bon Chon. There's more reason now to do that because they've just launched a brand new flavor today, they're calling it Crunchy Garlic!

I still love my Soy Garlic, the Spicy one and also the Honey Citrus flavors. Filipinos love the thought of having something intensely flavorful. This one's got a sweet, salty and zesty exterior, sprinkled with golden garlic bits and super crunchy outside so you'll still hear that perfect crunch each time you take a bite off of it. I love how it doesn't hold back on the garlic flavor. The smell actually radiates across the room so even as they're cooking it in the kitchen you can feel how good it is right off the bat. You now have another choice to love Bon Chon as they add a new thing on their menu. They continue reinventing what they already have so patrons wouldn't be bored and have something to look forward to each time they go to a Bon Chon branch.

Oh and there's Crunchy Garlic Cream Dory too for those fish lovers out there!

I've already seen a couple of people in my timeline wanting to go to Bon Chon and get one of these new Korean Fried Chicken flavors that only Bon Chon has. There's a lot of brands out there, but it seems that Bon Chon has been able to take the lead since they opened shop 2010 in the Philippines. I remember being there when their first store opened, and honestly the Bon Chon Chicken then still tastes the same as today... and that is a lot to be thankful for!

But really, trust me when I say Bon Chon Chicken is darn good! Call 6331818 now and ask it to be delivered right at your doorstep!

A Great and Healthy Night With Soyami

Sunday, January 29, 2012

It was a wonderful evening of getting introduced to great products whilst having dinner at Tourne at the Fort Strip. Everyone knows the healthy benefits of Soy and how it has surpassed just being the plain jane taho/tofu in the Philippines... and now there's more things to rave about!

Yeap! That's Marc Nelson!

Some of you probably ask "How in the world does a Marc Nelson/Rovilson Fernandez ever look so good?! Why in the world do they have hot bodies!?" and "Why does kumagcow look a little fat?! LOL?!" Well that's simple to answer because Marc Nelson and Rovlison have better, ultra healthy food choices. I also haven't been going to the gym these past few months... hence the sculptured German physique I have now. (hehe)

Filipinos love to eat; and consequently LOVE to snack. I don't even know anyone who doesn't have a sarisari store nearby or a restaurant to go to when hunger strikes. Our diet is a mix of east and west so we kind of already have a saturated mix of food, that entails those that are healthy and not so healthy ones. As we continue to grow efforts to eat right at this day and age they spurred an idea of making chips out of these soya beans but prepared them in a special way. That's where SOYAMI Chips comes into the picture!

It comes in WHITE CHEDDAR!

also Pizza!

And my favorite the Original flavor! I can dip this in hummus or low fat Sour Cream/Yogurt and ooh can I just say I LOVE IT!? =)

A dietician from Fitness First Club was there too to give us advice on how to have a healthy life and of course WELLNESS. Ms. Apple Rosales from SOYAMI who initially had this idea of serving healthy snacks for kids in her play pen business approached and told us about the SOYAMI Story and how it came about. She was so nice and bubbly, very enthusiastic too about the other new things they have launched. She was so excited about the potential of getting this out in the market. I love the these too!

Soyami Oatmeal Cookies, not too sweet and just right for that fiber fix. For those who want to have better digestion, a couple of these everyday can probably get you going.

The usual bread sticks you get on dinners just got jazzed up and fortified with Soya as their new Soya Stix in 3 different flavors won't disappoint you! I love this CHILI flavor so much that I refused to share it with my Dad! LOL! He got the garlic one though!

For the sweet tooth, why not have this better tasting Puto Seko to satisfy your cravings. I love how they got native this time. I put this in the fridge for later consumption but I kept opening and closing til the next day. Then POOF! nobody saw it again hehehe!

SOYAMI also partnered with Tree Hugger in this event. Yes! it's that great brand that not only sells excellent corn/recycled paper based pens, highlighters and pencils but with every Treehugger Pen you buy contributes to planting more trees in Philippine forests. They are also a big partner of HARIBON foundation; one of the leading nature conservation institutions in the Philippines. You should check out these special tree loving pens on all Papemelroti stores/kiosks or specialty shops nationwide! I didn't use the pen they gave me because they were so pretty LOL!

The nice and bubbly chef of Tourne. Visit them at the Fort Strip, Bonifacio Global City! Right in front of Fitness First! (image from Soyami FB Page)

Food served at the event were Soyami-inspired dishes courtesy of Tourne Executive Chef Sandralyn Hataway. I bet you would love the Mac and Cheese with Alugbati (which is my personal favorite!). It's like real deal slow cooked comfort food but without the guilt!

I would have loved to have a few seconds with him but he was busy entertaining people. I wanted to ask some questions but too bad. Anyway you are doing a good job Marc Nelson! I wish you all the success in this new venture!

The good people from FaceOne took time to explain to us what their products are from and how it can help in a lot of ways to maintain skin health.

Funny labels on these skin whitening, oil control and anti bacterial products from FaceOne eh?! I'll be trying out some of these and see how they fare against some of the best ones out in the market. Will this be great for men?! I hope so. Though right from the get go it looks quite natural and that's a plus in my books! You should get one of these and test them out, the whitening lotions and toner works for me though... you should definitely try it out! Throw away those hard fuel based products that you have and go natural instead!

I love the Suncoast products I won that evening. It's probably going to be a whole different ballgame now while I'm working out at the gym. The Vit Water tastes great too! For those who prefer a more natural electrolyte enhanced drink try the Lightwater, it's gonna boost your gusto for more activities for sure!

Congratulations Soyami for a very successful bloggers night and to the winners of the blog contests have a wonderful year ahead of you, you must have been really special to be chosen by the owners of SOYAMI so be proud of that!
