BUM BLACK ARMY Takes Over Tenement

Taking on the huge task of revelry in the streets is BUM Black Army. Their utilitarian line has been put into one of the country's iconic basketball courts which has been a venue for grand murals forged by the locals and community. Previously, it has been a canvas for NBA superstars showcasing the Filipinos passion and individual stories.

Celebrating 10 Years of Streetwear: BUM Black Army Showcases Holiday Collection at Pop Up Store in Araneta City

Just got off the BUM Black Army 10th Year event at the Farmers Plaza Activity Center in Araneta City. They are celebrating 10 awesome years of providing Filipinos non apologetic street wear, something that I've loved over the years. I was witness to how they've consistently grown... experimenting on looks and setting the trend for teens, men, women, and for those who just love being unique, reeks of individuality, and authentic.

At the event, we saw several of BUM Black Army's executives, marketing professionals, influencers, models, bloggers and trad media. Folks who adore the brand also trooped to the lower ground floor of the mall to enjoy the pop up store's 10th Anniversary promo. Folks who purchase shirts, pants, caps, bags and accessories will get the change to have their own customized shirt, a 360 degree video, iced or hot coffee, free caps, shirts and hoodies. They really did take advantage of that, but that was just the tip of the iceberg.

BUM Black Army also showcased their latest BUM Black Army Holiday Collection featuring several shirts, camouflage and tactical pants, baseball tops, caps and hoodies. I will be purchasing the army pants (in green) plus the army green shirts which surprisingly fit me quite well when I tried it that afternoon.

We were also treated to the music of the 90's and early 2000's as one of their ambassadors called Lunar Lights Band. A lot of people started to fill the several floors overlooking the venue. 

This was an awesome way to celebrate 10 great years of streetwear from BUM Black Army!

10 years is not a joke, it's valuable experience. Filipinos are social, but when one needs to express himself with fashion, BUM Black Army gives the pieces that exude confidence. I remember the years when they had goth and rock as their palette, but instead of being stagnant, they planned quite well to also grow with the generation that adored them. Now they look cool, still representing street wear, and still presenting color that can appeal to the generation today. For that, congratulations BUM Black Army! Here's to another decade or more of this excellence!

There's certainly a huge change happening at BUM Equipment as they release a new line properly called BLACK ARMY ACADEMY. I'd reckon the changes actually come from the brand's knowledge of a generation growing with them, and along that the changes and street wear culture that developed over time. It's been a while since we've covered an OXGN show. They've got the trendiest streetwear pieces, I actually have some of these in my wardrobe since they actually look cool and it fits my personality. What I like about this is how unique they are, you can tell it's an OXGN piece just because its different. You look cool, because they've always gotten out nice clothes. Marithé + François Girbaud has been in the country for several years now, 25 years to be exact. That in itself is a milestone, and the constant evolution of the brand has adapted quite well in the Philippines and yes, they're re-introducing themselves this season with some good fall-winter pieces that even the most choosy individuals who adore streetwear, just live by it.

During their celebration, I felt right at home. I loved how several models, personalities just whipped up their Girbaud pieces and wore it like regular clothes, albeit fashionably upscale, it now just got so accessible as they launched several new pieces this fall/winter season. That, and a new look carrying just GIRBAUD on the label from hereon!

It was so inspiring to see how good Girbaud has become over the years and true enough, I went to their store after a few days just to get them myself. I personally love the jeans, the sweaters, the jackets and embossed logo shirts. I also want to share that Girbaud stores now have a BUY ONE TAKE ONE offer on ALL their pieces. Meaning 50% off on all items, are they crazy to even do that? YES! and they did it anyway! Catch is, they will only do it until December 24, you only have a few days left to shop!

So now, you've got more reasons to go to a Girbaud shop near you. If you're planning to get a few items, you'll get more because of the discounts they have for you. Geezus, the salesladies over in North Edsa was so helpful, they suggested several pieces I didn't know would look good on me, but they did!

Streetwear that doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg, but looks like a million dollars style wise, looks so cool on me, so it will look cool on you too!

Miguel Tanfelix and Bianca Umali Endorses BUM

Two of the most fastest rising stars of GMA just got hitched. Hitched in a manner that they'll be so happy to be a part of one of the most recognized brands in street wear, BUM. They have extensively been searching for good looking and inspiring teens to carry their name and true enough, they did. The latest of which is two of the lead actors in high rating program "Niňo" seen on GMA. Teen cutie Miguel Tanfelix and Bianca Umali were so happy when they first heard the news... and then finally this day came when they officially announced they will be part of the BUM family. We were there when they signed the contracts!

The event was witnessed by GMA Executives and BUM's head honchos at Annabelle's Restaurant in Tomas Morato.

Bianca Umali wore something sporty from BUM's new line and she was so comfortable in it. She thought that BUM would be to dark or emo but surprised that she probably have clothes like these in her closet and plans to actually mix and match it with what she's got on her wardrobe. The everyday look is important for Bianca because she's always out being seen in the public and she knows she'll be scrutinized with what she's wearing. Now she's proud to be in the ranks of other BUM brand ambassadors that are already successful in their own chosen paths. She couldn't wait to shoot with the new clothes from BUM and says she's definitely looking forward to it. She wants to be different, she also knows you can't sacrifice quality and comfort whilst still staying affordable since teens are the usual suspects wearing clothes from BUM.

Miguel Tanfelix isn't much rugged, but without a doubt BUM has some pieces that has already evolved into more army-esque classy ones that you can wear on casual occasions. He was extremely happy about the endorsement and says BUM fits him because he's exactly the person who would wear shirts and other clothing from the brand without even thinking about it. If you see what he has on his closet, you'll probably see something similar to what he's wearing in this occasion. He also likes the colors and believes he'll enjoy experimenting with his outfits in and out of his shows. He also is excited to shoot campaigns with BUM and also work with artists from different stations. He knows that BUM transcends networks and to be lined up with the likes of the ambassadors of the brand, it's an honor for him he says. Plus, he says the shirts are very comfortable and well designed. Now that he's signed up with them, you'll probably see him soon on billboards and print ads which he's extremely excited for.

I promise to try and see if we can also cover their shoot once the season starts because I've heard they are planning a really great concept come holiday season. Teens, I envy you because you get some nice clothes like these. BUM, you've got two very promising artists on your hands and they are also some of the most humble teens I've ever come across interviewing. I'm sure they'll be as successful as the ones who already have represented BUM in the past and look forward to the fashion shows they're planning to whip up in the next few months, mall tours, meet and greets included! Congratulations Miguel and Bianca!

BUM Launches New Collection and Endorsers Nash, Diego, Jane and Ella

The well loved street/urban wear brand BUM took us on a whim through a grand fashion show called UNLEASH YOUR REALITEE. From hiding your true self, to anime, to rock and cosplay... they've done a lot to get you unravel yourself. That's their call this season and their Summer Collection speaks of pastel colors now even when they were dark and mystifying in the past. It's a lot of change but judging from the pieces we saw on the runway that evening... we also felt it was time! (Word of warning: Picture heavy post because this is 3 collections in one show!)

Since the Tees were the star of the show, we noticed right from entering the venue some mannequins on the side. They were showing off the new designs and prints that will soon populate BUM's racks. But wait, all along I thought they were mannequins... some of them are real people! I was startled when some of them moved!

I also had a small chat with the creative people behind the show and the campaigns shoot. In the middle is Rai Lacoste with his sister on the left. The guy on the right is photographer Ash Evasco. I must say, he did a pretty good job with the new endorsers which you'll see in a bit!

I already love what I'm seeing. The colors alone got me excited! Add to that some new patterns and designs on the shirts. The material also improved. You'll feel how much care they put into every shirt.

Bloggers were already at it. MJ, Edsel and Jeng were doing Twitter, FB, Instagram so you guys can get the latest photos of the stars that arrived there. Speaking of which, one already arrived!

That's Bea Binene. She's the lone GMA Artist that endorses BUM now. She says it doesn't matter because whether you are from other stations, once that you become part of the BUM family you won't feel any different. We'll see her on the show later too!

The fashion show started with a little introduction; Irish music and some Leprechaun looking chap that speaks French hosting the show. The lights were dimmed, and the models came out one by one. 

Now see how you can put these shirts into good use? Who can say these are ordinary tees? It's fashionable, definitely edgy! Plus, I love the stitched pants. Some even have color on them, would they have something in my size? I hope so!
