Hotter than summer and the heat of the sun, we were so lucky to have found DENNIS TRILLO. The good looking prime actor from GMA was just declared as the face of Beautéderm Corporation's Belle Dolls ZERO FILTER Light Sunscreen. Dennis told us a few things of how they handle grooming and activities at home "Applying sunscreen is essential these days. This is the same for work. Being together for years, we have made really good teamwork at home. Jen's ability to do tough love is something I admire about her. She's more of a disciplinarian, I spoil my kids often. It's good that we have products that help either maintain my skin, or protect us from the harmful rays of the sun. That Best Actor title does come with pressure, but I don't think about it too much."

You need to re-apply sunscreen every 2 hours. This is very light, doesn't have that ghost look when you put it on. There's also a spray bottle if you want to do it fast and consistent. Men Should Take Skincare Seriously

Staying indoors these past few years must have been giving everyone an urge to go out in the sun for rest and recreation. Thing is, it's not just vitamin D that you're getting when exposed to the sun. There's Ultraviolet Rays that can cause skin aging, eye damage, sun burns, even skin cancer on worst cases. In the Philippines, there's a macho notion that skincare are for sissies, but once people age and become a prune, it suddenly becomes a huge issue (when it's too late).

Skin care is essential. It doesn't take a genius to know that men have thicker, oilier skin and needs the same attention as women do (or maybe even more). When I started doing grooming sessions, I had three rules to follow. That's to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. I slowly discovered other things that would benefit my skin and over the years and started to test with other products. The Salt & Stone Sunscreen Lotion has SPF 30. It's not too oily and disappears after a few seconds of application. You don't get that weird ghost look when lathered on skin and get the protection you need from the harmful rays of the sun. It doesn't have a strong scent which is good in my books because I'm a bit sensitive when it comes to some fragrances, and this is au naturelle.

This one is Triumph & Disaster's Ritual Face Cleanser. It's a bit on a watery gel side and smells a bit minty. Safe for use daily, I'd recommend you wash your face with it in the morning before you go out for an event or work. You'll feel fresh without it drying your skin, something that some harsh soaps do. Make sure you rinse thoroughly to make sure you don't have residue on the side of the nose because that has become a problem area for some.

The Groomed Man Co.'s Smooth Operator Face Moisturiser. This is a bit thick for my liking and I'd be more fond of water based ones than this. The weather in Manila is a bit too humid, and this might be a bit too much oily skin. Although it left a matte finish, it was a bit on the sticky side. If you are on the mixed or oily skin type, I wouldn't recommend this. If you have dry skin, this would be apt for that.

The Anthony Facial Scrub was something pretty new to me. With scrubs usually containing something abrasive, this tops the fancy ones as it contains Bora Bora White Sand. It helps remove dead skin cells by exfoliating when you rub it gently on your skin. It smells citrusy, reminds me of oranges and apricots but it has Aloe Vera, Algae and Chamomile. It wasn't floral at all, which is good in my books. It's a bit sweet too, I would recommend this to be used at night when you have to clean up before you sleep.

If I'd have something to hoard from their store, it would be the Salt & Stone Deodorant Naturel. I love the combination of Eucalyptus and Cedar wood. It doesn't sting, very low profile, but so manly smelling. It's woodsy, gives you a boost of morale and confidence that you can take on anything when you're out going to work or for a date.

I've seen the difference of doing it earlier and not when lines, wrinkles, dark spots are already there before we take action. You need a good regimen, and it starts by choosing products that get you the results you need.

Protect Your Skin with Sunplay

Summer's Not Over with Nivea Sun Care Products!

If you haven't been out of your house that much, you still  have a few weeks to enjoy the sun. Putting your feet into the sand, lying down on a hammock while being served a cold pinacolada with an umbrella on top just looks perfect on any beach. We deserve to be pampered every once in a while, but I do worry a lot about the damage that the sun brings on our skin. I take this threat seriously because sun damage would make you look old, even make you sick if you don't believe me.

Well, there's some really good news I'd like to tell you. There's Nivea Sun to take care of your skin. It's a line of products by global brand Nivea that's dedicated to protect, refresh, hydrate, even give you a tan on some of their products. Different days, different needs, so I did the next best thing to make sure I get protected perfectly when it's hot outside. I actually tried them all in a span of 1 week, and here's a rundown on how they fared.

This is Nivea Sun Moisturizing Immediate Sun Protection Collagen Protect. If you can see, all their bottles have SPF labels on them indicating the amount of protection you get from product. It smells quite like liquid baby powder and not too strong. I don't like the other brands that smell like chemicals and doesn't even get you enough protection as you need it. It also disappears quite fast after application, meaning it's quickly absorbed by the skin. It's not greasy at all and it assures your protection from UVA/UVB rays, of which too much of it will hasten genetic mutation. If that happens, you get skin cancer. That's not a good thing. If you're out for a swim, they recommend to re-apply after a dip, or after you wipe off with a towel. I would have loved to put my swimming photos on this part, but I'm sure you're not ready for that. #UMAY haha.

This one smells a little stronger than the one in the blue bottle. This is the Nivea Sun Whitening Immediate Sun Protection Collagen Protect. It's got the same SPF content, but it's got more active whitening ingredients. So just imagine, you're not just protecting yourself from the sun when you put this on your skin, you get the moisturizer's effect plus it'll make your complexion whiter. It's like hitting three birds with one stone. You're not really protected if you're just inside the home, UVA rays can penetrate through clouds and glass. Don't trust those windows, you really can't be too sure. Get your dose of Vitamin D when it's safe, but not to the point of putting yourself out there in danger.   

This one's pretty special. This is the Nivea Sun Protect and Bronze. I guess the lower SPF would hasten you to get enough of that sunlight and make melanin production a lot faster, thanks to the pro melanin plant extract on this product. You would need to apply significantly well so you still get the protection you need though, you must remember that. If you want that caramel colored skin, this would fit you nicely. You must always take note that if you spend a lot of time under the sun, you are prone to sunburn. Aside from that, over exposure can hasten skin damage and these products can get you the protection you need when it matters.

For those who would prefer an even lighter regimen if you're under the sun, the Nivea Sun Protect and Light Feel is super. It's a refreshing invisible sun mist so it's not like the lotion types to begin with. Although I don't feel greasy with the earlier bottles, this one really presented a difference. I guess you can call this the modern version of sunscreen lotions. It smells so nice too. A bottle can probably go for 6 full body applications. It really depends on where you want it covered. After coming out of the pool, or wiping yourself with a towel, just spray it on again to make sure you're covered. I know, no sunscreen can ever make sure we're 100% covered but you can do your best with these!

If you don't like lugging around bottles when you're out of town, Nivea has got Nivea Sun Protect and Moisture or Nivea Sun Protect and White Creams that can get you sunscreen protection you need. It's easier to carry around, fits right in your bag's pocket but don't let the size fool you. The thing has SPF 50, so you get the protection you need in each application. You'll enjoy your vacation without any hassle, you won't smell like chemicals too. Flawless: Launches Flaunt, New Website and Social Media Channels

When I hear Flawless, I usually shy away from it because believe it or not I don't go to facial centers and I find it too girly to do so. Men I think for most of the time are low maintenance. Even though it doesn't show that I need one, it's haunting me for the longest time that I even consider that good looking ones like me kinda need help too (hehe). Finding reputable ones like Flawless for my first consultation is nothing but the right choice. The doctor was IN!

She took time explaining the common skin problems and tried to analyze what our skin conditions were too. We were probably like smorgasbord,  but the good thing is they give us the necessary advise on how to actually choose the product that would be the perfect match for our skin. I had so many questions but Doctor Cu gamely answered them for me. I had normal T zone problems just like any guy, but I don't use sunblock. She said I should always make it a habit to do so because unprotected skin would just age fast and get damaged by UV rays. I know it was something I should do but I didn't pay attention to it that much because people have been noticing I look young for my age. But I think she's got a point that if I take care of it, I would have looked better than what I do now. Thanks for that Doc! =)
