SM WOMAN for Philippine Fashion Week

Thursday, June 05, 2014

Shining, glistening, she proudly surfaces... the SM WOMAN in the halls of SMX Convention Center for Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2014. This is another brand carried on The SM Store to cater to women who want luxurious clothing at the fraction of a cost. Style wise, I have seen the collection exude femininity without sacrificing quality - a feat which every Filipina dreams of. This is their answer to your clamor. Your happiness starts with a little loveliness.

And that of course is what we saw at the preview a few hours before the show. This wouldn't be possible without these ladies.

The SM Woman collection was interpreted in sections; the new age Filipina can now wear something for Fashion, Career, Casual, Evening and Resort. Impressed and attracted on these pieces that follow Fall/Winter shades - but it's all a mix and a bit more structural, floral, pastel, basic, graphic and soft yet flowy dresses. They've got it all! Which reminds me, didn't they say "We've got it all for you!"?

Now, I wouldn't want to flood you guys with photos so I'll spare you the drama and just put it in one video slide show. It's got pretty good music too. Enjoy!

The difference is, it's lighter in construction, brighter and bolder in colors, prints are more modern, designs are elegant and classy... but... it's very affordable. You wouldn't think they'd be pricing them 799 to a little less over a thousand bucks. Unbelievable!

I'd like to commend SM Woman for opening the show with gorgeous Jasmine Maierhofer. Her gorgeous face was something talked of angels, people were at awe when the SM WOMAN sign was raised to start the show. Aside from that, your resort wear was a fresh addition. Something that I used to see in latin shows looks so perfect in our tropics. Like a glove. The bright prints and more modern construction of coats and cute capes was adored by the ladies I sat with that evening. That says a lot

TOPMAN Opens in SM Megamall Fashion Hall

Wednesday, June 04, 2014

One of the most reputable brands carrying clothing fit for the most stylish men in the Philippines is TOPMAN. They just opened shop at the 3rd Floor of SM Megamall's Fashion Hall last May 28th and it was a glorious day for fans of the brand. I adored their jackets, shoes, shirts and pants which I'll show you in a bit. In the meantime, let me take you around their store which had a more signature Californian vibe to it.

You have that beachy summery feel. Not to mention the faded layered jeans, graphic shirts, colored pants and colorful shorts reminiscent of that area. The store still has the spring summer collection so if you want your wardrobe to still weather the elements, you're lucky! They also just came out with these colder blue, black and gray palette shirts on the bottom right which probably is part of their Fall/Winter collection. I like the long sleeved shirts up top especially the gray one with prints. That's considered sold of course! :) I already have it in my closet.

Aside from that, the coats, denim and skinny jeans are absolutely nice and rancid. For those who have nice bodies but want to show them off, the wifebeaters and sleeveless shirts would be perfect for you. They even got some of it on 800 for 2 deals and 10 percent off on opening day. There might be some more still on sale but I strongly suggest you check it out in Megamall while its early. Oh before I forget, they've got 15% off for students for the whole month of June. You just have to

Sharon Ugot, the Group Brand Manager of Topman Philippines also says “As a fashion leader, continuous growth is very essential and we are thrilled with the opening of our newest store in SM Mega Fashion Hall. Being the fashion authority, Topman always delivers cutting edge and fashion forward pieces, which our customers are looking for.

So I did the next best thing after hearing that and checked out the shelves for some of my favorites. You might want to purchase these too.

Mazda Sponsors UAAP Live Games!

Tuesday, June 03, 2014

It looks so good from where I'm standing. I was dwarfed by the likes of Arnold Van Opstal from DLSU Green Archers, FEU Tamaraw's Cris Tolomia and my current favorite Chief UE Red Warrior Roi Sumang. I'm a Warrior too and I watch UAAP games regularly. It's the University of the East's turn to also host the games so this year is a pretty big deal for me. My alma mater is gunning for the championship for the longest time and this is a welcome development to make these guys, Ateneo's Thirdy Ravena, UST's Aljon Mariano (who was busy with games and was not here during the presscon) be the face of Mazda during this season. Best of all, I love the color since it's all RED! :)

They'll be driving to and from the games with a brand new spanking MAZDA 3 SKYACTIV. I already had a hunch they were going to be partners when I saw these guys in the venue that evening. Now if that isn't a great ride, I don't know what is...

The Mazda3 Skyactiv has great fuel efficiency and increased engine output. It's part of the Mazda technology that boasts of new engines, accurate transmissions, new design, body and chassis. The 155 HP SKYACTIV-G has a 2.0 Liter 4 cylinder engine and you can choose between SKYACTIV-MT 6-speed manual transmission or SKYACTIV-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission. Either way, you'll get the best out of Mazda technology and drive a better, bolder car from their shops.

"It's very dynamic and perfect for the persona of these athletes. Seeing them driving these Mazda3 Skyactiv cars would be something like a match made in heaven and that's why we're excited to work with UAAP this season 77. You'll see us in fastbreaks, best plays and more segments during the live coverage. You can count on that!" says Steven Tan the President and CEO of Berjaya Auto Philippines.

There's more than one way to celebrate the UAAP Season 77 and they've made it so much better with the Mazda3 Skyactiv. I wonder if they'll lend me one so I don't have to use public transport going to and back from the games. That's surely going to be very classy and sporty haha! Just joking! Anyway, you know where to check these cars out when you need to. Check the channels below badabing badaboom!

Barbie Forteza Excited for "Half Sisters"

Monday, June 02, 2014

We saw a very bubbly and perky Barbie Forteza at the GMA Studios a few days ago. This is my first time to see her in person and I must say I already know why people love her. Her stints in various GMA shows like Stairway to Heaven, First Time, Pilyang Kerubin, Tween Hearts, , Nita Negrita, Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin, Luna Blanca and Anna Karenina made her who she is right now. She's done well in these shows which is why GMA is trusting her with another one together with Thea Tolentino (of Pyra), hunky Derrick Monasterio and new boy Andre Paras. The show is entitled "Half Sisters" which is another melodrama that'll be shown worldwide on GMA Pinoy TV. She's excited about the first episode which they have already done taping and says you should watch it so you get to understand the plot of the story. They are sisters but have different fathers, but they won't know yet until after some time. This explains the different treatment between her and the other sister. She plays Diana Alcantara on this project and pretty much, you'll find her in different hardships as she finds out who she really is... and maybe find the answers to her questions.

Speaking of which, Barbie Forteza will also be seen on a weekly webisode on GMANetwork.com named "Barbie in Bloom". It'll be shown either late June or first week of July and she'll be answering some of the most toughest questions thrown at her from social media. She was really game and didn't bat an eyelash on most of them but extremely giggled when the questions were more about her ultimate crush Dennis Trillo. I couldn't blame her though because she's so right about the things she admires about the Kapuso leading man. More so when Dennis Trillo himself wanted to have a project with her, that made her scream a couple of times during this interview.

She also gave time for her fans that afternoon. She did some fansigns for those who also communicated with her online on GMA's channels. In the interview, she mentioned the biggest challenge she's encountered so far... which is just being game all the time. She wants to be bubbly, presentable and pleasing all the time and wants to do this on and off cam. Even if she's tired, she makes it a point to publicly be accommodating. She owes this much to her fans and it's her way of appreciating everything. She also said she'll try to never be late because she wants to get the habit of being professional... something she learned by the likes of veteran actresses Cherie Gil etc. As for her bashers, she just keeps an open mind and reads them still in social media. If it'll help her in the future, she takes it as it is. There will be more of these questions answered like these when you watch the webisodes.

Barbie Forteza is excited when this shows on June 9 right after Eat Bulaga. This is a real case so you'll surely believe the plot according to Barbie. Her character is not the typical heroine who gets beaten up but a woman with sheer eagerness to fight. She fights because it's right... Thea Tolentino was a little soft but she says they worked together to make it even more intense. This is directed by Mark Reyes. Some of it is being filmed in a correctional facility but finds the people quite good there. She found a whole community and was surprised that they were all so nice. She's also going to be seen regularly in Sunday All Stars and she hopes to do the rivalry episodes with Bea Binene. She finds that very challenging and was so glad she got to work with very talented people in that bunch.

She's a pretty girl, with a very promising career already. Make sure you don't miss any episode of "Half Sisters" 2:30 PM weekdays on GMA!

Lovi Poe Shines in GMA's New Drama "Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real"

Gorgeous goddess and premier drama actress Lovi Poe is at it again. After the very successful shows in the Kapuso network, she's back to play the role of Sheila Salazar - Real in long awaited "Ang dalawang Mrs. Real". She'll be playing opposite Diamond Star Maricel Soriano and paired with third sexiest man in the world Dingdong Dantes.

Her role in this series would be a lot different than those which she has previously played as she'll be a lot adventurous and strong willed. She's going to give it all for her man. Her vulnerability will also show in the series, much like any woman in her situation. Playing as her husband Anthony Real is Dingdong Dantes. She fell in love and got married with him, not knowing that another one exists.

Lovi says “My character here as Shiela has a strong personality and is a bit boyish. As compared to my role in ‘Akin Pa Rin ang Bukas’, my character there was a little too weak, she just became strong when she sought revenge. In this one, she already was strong in the beginning but when she found out what happened… no matter how strong she was as a woman, when our hearts get broken.. we just sometimes give up. I think that's exactly what’s going to happen”.

Lovi Poe is excited about this project as she is going to work with critically acclaimed actors like Ms. Maricel and Dingdong. Will she fight for the love or give up once she finds out about the affair? Don't miss this very special Teleserye from GMA on June 2; to be shown during the GMA Telebabad time slot. This is another promising project after Lovi Poe's hit shows "Akin Pa Rin Ang Bukas", "Legacy" and "Yesterday's Bride" proven with high ratings and great performances bar none.

BUM Back To School: The Official Photos

Sunday, June 01, 2014

Now I promised you guys a couple of articles ago that I'll be releasing the back to school behind the scenes shots from BUM Equipment's latest campaign "BUM Univarsitee". It pays homage to a colorful, fun and athletic school life. They say it shouldn't be boring or a sad story so they're bringing out their guns and making you choose a multitude of colors perfect to wear in school. Mix and match it with your current wardrobe, it'll still look good. They want you to look different when you go to your classroom and hope you won't look like your classmates. That individuality still runs through your veins and say "I'm proud of who I am!". Everybody should have their own style and should always be non conformist without breaking the rules says Rai Lacoste of BUM. So I'm cutting to the chase because I literally had to write a new article because of these new photos. I know you want to see this! :)
