15 Years of Orange Love: ORANGE MAGAZINE TV

Sunday, July 06, 2025

Thinking about this event took me a few days because I didn't want to go the emotional route as the event is celebratory. Orange Magazine just had their 15th Anniversary last July 1st 2025. For those who don't know, they're one of the OG's in the digital magazine space and I've had the pleasure of having them as peers in the industry for years now.

While you were probably infants, these folks already made their mark in introducing artists, people, brands, businesses and SME's. This includes those who have no digital footprint back in the day, and has now grown even bigger with his team at Orange Magazine. I've seen some of the risk he took early on and challenges that broke everything because I'd say, the industry was still in its infancy compared to established traditional media companies that got a foothold of the trust of people. Jeman Villanueva wasn't all perfect - and quite loveless at that time 😂 - and he held on to those who have believed in him and his work especially in the different niche he handles, and here we are today!

Stronger and wiser than ever, Orange Magazine TV has been able to weather the rough obstacles that have come their way. Every year, they try to throw a thanksgiving party for the local PH blogging industry, giving back to folks who have stood by them all these years, including the brands and corporations who have believed in them since day 1.

Team Orange gave away so many prizes and surprises from their sponsors like Timezone Philippines who took good care of the venue, PLDT Home, Home Credit Philippines, Xiaomi Philippines (whom I think gave some really nice smart watches), smartphone brand POCO, pr firm ALPAS Consultancy, Marie France + Facial Care Centre + Svenson (who gave trinkets, kits and skin products), Tai Chi Rub & VCO Liniments (who I absolutely love especially the Chili liniments and new sticks!), Doggies Choice (who gave doggie treats!), Cebu Pacific Air (who gave fantabulous trips to local destinations!), Maya, Honor Philippines (who gave health bands and ear buds, love that brand!), OPPO who gave away a brand new smartphone, Solaire Resort Entertainment City and Solaire Resort North (who I think gave stays), Skechers (who gave a choice of their super comfy shoes), Our Home, Hotel 101 Manila, The Ascott Limited, Citadines Benavidez Makati, Citadines Bay City Manila, Citadines Roces Avenue who also gave hotel stays, Klued (who introduced themselves and gave away some of their skin essentials), Primer Group of Companies and The Travel Club (who gave away luggages and products from their really good brands, I got a cap from ROX), Seda Manila Bay, Bell Kenz Pharma Inc., Luminisce who gave some skin treatments, Landco Pacific, Landco Lifestyle Ventures, AirAsia Philippines who have trips to local spots, RLC Residences, pr firm EON Public Relations (who also have a few prizes from their brands), TikTok Shop Philippines, Mega Prime Foods, Winford Resort and c@$in0 Manila, Redlion Private Pool Resort, pr firm Ripple8, Jollibee, Launch & Meet, pr firm Grupo Agatep, lovely chicken brand Mang Inasal who gave GC's, Angel's Pizza (who gave GC's also for pizza), A List & Partners Consulting Group Inc., Diana Stadler (who gave lots of skin products), PR and talent firm Spark It Philippines, Joy Nostalg Hotel and Suites, Foodpanda, Potato Corner, pr firm BRIDGES PR, Visual Scape, the ever favorite portable fan company Jisulife, pr firm Fifth Gear Ads and Activations, travel app Klook, SM Investments, SM Supermalls, my favorite skincare brand Beautéderm Corporation (and I love their Belle Dolls!), pr firm Narr8 PH Creative Communications, Centaur Marketing, SAFC, Human Nature, Uniquecorn Strategies, DermoRepubliq, ANKO, pr firm FuentesManila Public Relations, Buensalido and Associates PR, Access PR & Communications, Power Mac Center, and Ana Manansala Consultancy Services.

I'd like to personally thank Jeman Villanueva who not just made this event possible, but really pulled strings to make sure each person in that event enjoyed their time, and went home all with something to remember the occasion. Thank you also to Team Orange's Kister and Janelle who's part of Orange Magazine's success since last year.

Thanks everyone! 🙂

ChurpOut! 2013: The Social Influencers Pep Rally!

Tuesday, March 19, 2013

Twitter is so addictive! Just like you I've been spending a whole lotta time with my readers, friends and family in this social media channel. It's so easy to connect and get instant feedback with the rest of the world and why not, its all free!

Well this time they made it even better, we get to earn while using it. If you've got tons of friends and followers, a simple click can earn you through a program called ChurChurp!

And what way to celebrate it more but by launching it in style. They held an event just last week called ChurpOut, a Pep Rally to show the communities' admirable social media influencers that are all from this side of the globe!

Present that evening was Country Manager and Tech Blogger extraordinaire Abe Olandres. Haven't really talked to this guy but I read his blog. Met him a few times too. He's one of the good guys..

Most Favorite TV Station for 2012!

Choosing a particular channel would be dangerous in this day and age but I'll go ahead and choose for fairness sake. Not that I've been biased with any channel for that matter but yes there are more news on my site from ABS CBN. Maybe in the course, they have been sternly inviting me to their conferences more. Not to mention the celebrities who have been so kind to me too. Erich, Enchong, Jason and ♥ Melai. ☺

It was not just celebrities but the programs that they have lined up that made them first on my list. I spend a few hours watching teleseryes and news on this channel more than the others. Once you do, you just get hooked because the programs are properly researched and well executed. My vote goes to ABS CBN.

TV5 comes in a close second. They have proven their worth with the quality of programs coming out from their channel in the last few months. I specifically love Artista Academy and Amazing Race. The whole time I covered for Artista Academy the contestants, judges and crew were so kind to me as well. I love how it came out on TV and said it was worth to watch these local shows now even on TV5 which I normally skip on the remote at home before Manny Pangilinan revamped it.

GMA7 ranked third for me. Although I specifically LOVE the shows of gorgeous artists like Rocco Nacino, Kris Bernal, Enzo Pineda and the likes of Lovi Poe, Solenn Heussaff etc. there were some misses in other shows like Party Pilipinas. I covered the show and introduced myself properly. They did not like photos taken for a show that they were supposedly also promoting, so I don't get that part. The hassle this show has made has gotten me hate the channel a bit; but with changes that they have made in the last few weeks I've seen some bloggers now getting properly coordinated. I still don't like Party Pilipinas though. Sorry but that's how I feel til now. It's not the show, it's the one handling it that I'm so not happy about.

Thanks to www.Starmometer.com, www.Showbiznest.com and www.LionhearTV.net for putting this project up. For more details about the voting process and how a blogger can do this go to this article here and vote for your Favorite TV Station too.

Fighting Hunger Together!

Monday, January 16, 2012

I have been a stern supporter of World Food Programme as you may probably know. WFP.ORG and WFP Philippines have been continually fighting hunger in this country for years now and they need all the help they can get. One truly remarkable way you can now do that is by purchasing through Julie's Bakeshop; particularly their BAYAN BREAD. This item and its proceeds will help fund feeding programs for areas of conflict and Sendong (International Name Washi) affected areas in Mindanao.

Photo above shows WFP Country Director and Representative Stephen L. Anderson and Julie's Bakeshop CEO Joseph Gandionco shaking hands in the recent SINULOG Festival in Cebu City. Together let us work hard in making sure to feed millions of Filipinos who suffer from hunger and do our share to help at this part of the world!

Please visit WFP.ORG and follow them on Twitter for more information (details below).

You Can Help!

Saturday, August 27, 2011

I have to tell you something. This is something I really believe in. People in the Philippines and elsewhere in the world should not experience hunger. It's inexcusable to see someone ask for food when others even have an eight course meal in one sitting. We can all do what we can but we only can do so much. I am not a hero by any shape or form but I want to help. I think that alone can make a difference. It's what the World Food Program has been doing these past few years. Have you heard of them?!

If not, I would like to enjoin you to visit http://www.wfp.org/countries/philippines and check out the ways to get involved. You might think that you can't do anything to save kids and give them a hot meal with what little contribution you can make. A simple sacrifice of a coffee cup, splurge on food or shopping can literally equate to a lot of kids getting that needed nourishment here and elsewhere in the globe. Africa has been one of the hardest hit but Asia and the Philippines is not too far from it either. We have people who need it specially in Mindanao where armed conflicts are displacing hundreds of families. Some of them lose their livelihood, access to education and cannot start a new life after war. The situation is terrible but you still see a good sense of hope in their eyes, please help in whatever way you can. You can start by getting involved!

All these are available on the web site I mentioned above. You can click the images and go to the site and see for yourself how to do it. Nothing is impossible so make sure you tell your friends and family how. It takes a few informed people to let a million be educated about it so start with the people you know.

Bloggers can help too. I'm part of the Bloggers Against Hunger Movement. We can help spread the word to everyone and harness the power of Social Media. We have access to people and if you start letting them know how to help that'll be a lot already. We have a lot of avenues we just need to let them see that no matter how small or big they can contribute it can help feed kids and families from Somalia, Mogadishu, a lot of other places and our own country the Philippines. Start by going here! CLICK THIS

You can definitely help! Let's do our share and fight hunger!

The Great Luzon Blogfest at Thunderbirds Resort Rizal

Monday, May 02, 2011

It's so nice to have lots of time to talk and see how others see of your own issues. This was one thing I learned when I attended the Luzon Bloggerfest. I'm one of the Commoner bloggers mentioned there but I never dampen my spirit with these titles. In any forum there are a lot of disagreements but this day was about enjoying the company of people from the same industry. It was big and grand to say the least because Thunderbird Resorts made sure we were taken cared of. Food and drinks were superb! We were even allowed to play a game or two, hopefully I win a lot of things when I go back there soon! If you see the photo above... we are seriously a big group to deal with since people from different parts of Luzon came to this part of Rizal just for this one!

Thank you so much to Azrael Coladilla and the people behind this great event! I'm sure the next one will be bigger!

Yanah and AXL and a couple of bloggers enjoying the lectures given at the event. You can ask them all about it too!

Flow Galindez would gladly engage you with a talk if you want to know the real score and situation on Philippine blogging. He's a smart one I'm telling you. He's so serious in this shot I wonder why LOL.
Caught on cam is Anton of Pusangkalye.net who gave a talk about Photo blogging. He's really good and made the whole subject a common man's point of view. I think he should do this regularly. He explains things clearly! I know he's a friend but he didn't pay me anything just to say that heheheh!
See how happy this guy is? Well who wouldn't be happy if you've got One Hundred Thousand Pesos for getting a video up about yourself and the resort, Thunderbird Resorts has indeed been so nice to bloggers. I hope they continue to do this and help this industry become bigger soon! If you guys want entertainment, you should go there because the food is superb, you can play too. I love the place even if its a little far from the metro, the seclusion isn't enough because you'll forget what time it is when you go there. It's like a mini Las Vegas which is what we need in this country! It's something spectacular so you should check it out! I was pampered even in the john so you know they would take care of every detail! The Hotbabes are also going to have a reunion concert there on the 14th! You should go!

Well folks, I enjoyed and learned a lot; I also met a lot of people from the blogworld. There will me more soon I hope! Thanks again guys!

The iBLOG7 Experience: While on a Writer's Block

Saturday, April 02, 2011

I attended the recently concluded IBLOG7 at UP Diliman Malcolm Theater this Saturday and boy it was good! I got to rub shoulders with blogging superstars and people from the industry that I barely know... I mean I'm just a speck in the Internet cloud and they have thousands of readers so who am I to complain right? LOL

Anyway... I was actually laughing about this topic that they had about having a writer's block. I mean how in the world could anyone have that if they are blogging in the first place? (a couple of times I even said that's a stupid topic!) Then I got into my laptop that evening and started to write. That cursor started blinking after clicking the New Post link. Then BOOM! I was just there... staring at my laptop screen not knowing what to do. I didn't know what to write about. Ironic I know. I was laughing about it but sheesh.. I didn't see that coming. Oh yeah I had my own official Writer's block after that day... then came Sunday.. Monday... well 2 whole unproductive days later I'm writing about it now. So that I think is a good thing I learned after IBLOG7, cool huh!?

When I arrived in UP that day I wasn't expecting much since it was just my first official IBLOG event. I said I'll just stay in the sidelines and pretend like I'm a wallflower like most things I go to but you tend to still have that hope that you'll get something out of it even if I was a noob for things like these. That ain't no April Fools thing, I'm used to pretending that I don't exist and let everyone fly by. It's a trait I developed when I don't like the crowd. But you know, I gave it a shot... I was impressed how hassle free and organized the event was. I breezed through the door and came in the theater... surprised everyone was actually looking at me when I came in. I thought I disturbed something but I think it was because they already have introduced themselves and a couple of us didn't. I was late so I sat comfortably at the back and decided to just observe. I did introduce myself as a porn site ha-ha! Wanted to be witty but I was nervous so that didn't work. Got a couple of laughs... and that's about it!

I listened to the speaker... it was about Advocacy Blogging. I'm not matapobre. I'm not. I just have low tolerance for people who don't understand. That subject was a little elementary for me. I think I know what that means. It's not for everybody. I think its a calling. If you find love in doing good deeds and don't ask a single cent for it then by all means its for you! If you have second thoughts or think you still need to earn from it I think it is unethical. That maybe untrue for some of you. But that's how I know you do it. Else, find some other niche!

GMTristan of levelupgames made short work of explaining how social networks such as Facebook could help market your online property. Well let me say I kinda liked what he did about his page so I did mine this morning... does this look more appealing now? LOL!!!

I think its better than just the cow's cuteness there. From the photoshoot I did last week, he gave me a brilliant idea to put em here. So there... I learned from you even if I play RAN and CABAL ha-ha! =) Don't you just wanna click it?! Ha-ha!

Next up was about Building a Discussion Community. I think there are several things on my mind that kept me interested about that subject. I have 7 forums under my belt that need the information he shared. I guess I have been doing that for the past few months. Maybe the part where trolls were discussed was special to me. I don't really permit them in my forum sites because 1. The company I host them for doesn't allow it and 2. I have low tolerance on people who's not in the right mind giving their opinions. I'm very impressed by his credentials... I should probably take a look at his site later this week. I need to be informed with Gundam and Macross. I think it was the early 90's where I got interested with them... then got off the geek bandwagon when someone stole my magazines. Maybe I'll learn a thing or two there. You should too!

I remember the Mommy Psychologist con Cute Doggie who said her stuff about what social- behavioral changes has happened after Facebook... she's got a lot of good points. Extroverts became a lot noisy... and Emo types had a channel to put their stuff too! I can relate because I just got my Emo hair in the hangers now. I like what happened to her diet though... impressive before and after photos to the delight of bloggers like me who forgot to go back to the gym after getting sick a few months ago LOL!

I didn't go to the first day of IBLOG7 but there was a lot of stuff that went on with the planned blog organizations for professionals. There was also some plans of a national thing with it. I heard what they said from the sidelines. For me it's still a resounding HELL NO. I ain't into letting a "government" or "organization" shutting me and my loud mouth when I want to do things on my site. Much of lifestyle and things that are here are with my views. I keep it real. I'm already done with that. About the whole etiquette thing I'd rather have it as an unwritten rule. I won't comment on that anymore because a lot has been already said. As for me and my writer's block I think I got over that a few paragraphs ago. LOL... Thank you to the organizers of IBLOG7! You deserve more credit for the job that you do! I'll be there next time!

P.S. As you can see I didn't have that much photos from the event because my camera lost juice. I've got a video I'm posting soon. So watch out for that in the next few days!

They are your SUPAH HEROES!!!
From L-R Jepoy, Marvin, Anna, Dek, Glentot, RJ and Anton

I had so much fun yesterday that I forgot to even think about a photoshoot that I had to go to. Anyway, I think it was pretty much worth it since I get to rub shoulders with the blog owners I often read. I kinda already had that in mind... If I enjoyed the company I'll stay the whole evening, and pretty much that's what I did. =)

Got off the shower and took several costume changes (because the batman costume won't fit anymore and the marshmallow man costume does, I wonder why?!) then headed to Trinoma. I was invited by Anton the owner of pusangkalye.net and said the event was organized by Kikilabotz of (http://inusentepapalaako.blogspot.com/)... I was eager to meet other people from the same industry because I think it more or less gives you an idea why we are writing in the first place. At the back of my mind I was thinking maybe I'll find answers to why I'm blogging.
I never found the answer... but I think I found something more interesting. I realized I talk too much and it just translates to whatever I put here; right?! Uhhmm... I guess ha-ha!... Sometimes I also catch myself murmuring about senseless stuff I humiliate myself and call myself stupid (while talking to myself in my head)! Maybe that's why my head hurts a lot these days... anyway back to the story....

I decided to come a little bit late (since I'm used to American Time being HONDA aka ondadot) because I don't want to look overly excited (but yeah I was!). When I got there Anton and RJ of Boy Acads (http://boyacads.blogspot.com/) was chillin and I had a small chat. Obviously most of them are not around yet so we kinda talked about photography stuff which Anton and I are obsessed about. I think we may have had an impact on RJ and he seemed a little bit interested in it too, he was tinkering with the cameras later on. I knew... he was hooked! Oh please be a Nikonista! Ha-ha! =)

RJ playin with Anton's cam =)

Blogger/heartthrob/ladies man/manyak(joke hehe) kikilabots aka Marvin!

Jepoy and Marvin on the serious side... =)

Marvin aka Kikilabotz arrived and we all exchanged pleasantries. His blog is all about girls (LOTS OF THEM!) heheh nah, just jokin! It's all about his outlook in life and the things he's been doing. He analyzes why he's doing it and keeps the highs and the lows. Interesting fellow because I haven't met him and these guys and gals but when we talked we were like uhmmm... we thought we already knew each other. Funny for a first meetup but I guess that comes if you read each others blogs. You kinda get what the others are thinkin, and how they turn into "those posts you see on their blogs"... its like an extension of their personality... that's for some; but for some of them its like another world. I felt in some ways some of them were introverts hehe (they were not talkin to much eh hehe)but that's not a bad thing; maybe it comes with the territory of becoming a little EMOtional. We have different stories and different backgrounds, some of us were mighty similar (small world eh?!). I saw them arriving one by one; sometimes I kid around but this day, it was really nice seeing the faces behind the words and comments we put on each others posts. There was a point and instance where I said to my self "ahh kaya pala". It was really nice... and I was in for more.

Speaking of emotional, here's the famous RICO BUCO of http://bucosalad.blogspot.com/.

He was really really deep... Heheh... He did let out a little and getting to know him there told me a little more reason why his entries are of that nature. A guy writing how he's bored with everyday things make me wonder how he get's to write a lot. Maybe it is his fascination with life and trifles that makes him do it.

Glentot of the famous http://www.wickedmouth.com/ was really tough to penetrate heheh... Don't get me wrong guys and gals, it wasn't because of personality disorders of him or me =)... it was because he was also really busy with other things that day that we didn't really have that much time to talk. Probably doing errands for friends and "making ligaw women" which is a good trait hehehe but really he was a tough cookie. He is so hilarious in his blog (I mean drop dead laughing hilarious K TNX BYE) and we did get along quite well during the afternoon. I was shocked when he asked "WHY?" I said thanks on the way home... it was supposed to be a THANK YOU for the company =) when I went out of the train I was asking myself that question so many times. That stirred me up a bit (sorry I'm that crazy I need a doctor call one please! LOL). Sure enough, he was so nice he commented on my wall this morning. I really dig people like him. Sometimes they catch me off guard ehehehe! PAK!

Anna of http://mahiwagangsirena.blogspot.com/ was also there which consequently was in Marvin's top 10. It was nice seeing her, you get to see why there was a lot of relationship stuff on her blog. The anger (YEAH I LOVE THE RAGE AND OUTBURSTS!!!! haha), happiness and geek side of her did show throughout that afternoon. It was a treat to see and hear(we kinda eavesdropped on her phone conversations!). That... and "treat" did she do also because she bought us cakes and drinks (I was supposed to pay for drinks so thanks! hehe). Really generous people. =)
Anna and Kaitee =) No this ain't an FHM ad! Heheh...

Kaitee (of http://kaitee8.blogspot.com/) also arrived, a little late but its better than not goin ye know! heheh. She was a smart kid (but please refrain from callin me Kuya! I ain't that old hehe) and honestly I haven't seen her posts before, judging from the few entries I scanned on her site, it was more of how she deals with personal relationships. It's nice and you guys should read it so you get to see yourselves years before you got into this notion of being out of the puppy love stage and have little things you appreciate in life hehe. Reminiscing am I?! Nahh..

Chyng of http://riandrew.blogspot.com/ dropped by too! + Jepoy enjoying the moment! =)

Jepoy is one DAMN good writer, you can laugh about his entries at http://iamalivingsaint.blogspot.com/ and spend an eternity reading all of it because of his antics. I haven't seen anyone doing humor that I get to enjoy. He's one of a few who I dig. Picks up and makes puchlines very fast. A simple pat on the shoulder and a handshake told me we already knew each other from just doing what we do. Plus I owe him now heheh! Just look at what he got us for dinner!

See how much we ate?! That's all courtesy of Jepoy which is YAMAN MUCH!

Whoooosh! And there was none! Hahah...

Flying or NOT we left Trinoma! L-R: Marvin, Anna, Kaitee, Glentot, Rj, Dek, Jepoy Anton left to fetch his wifee! =)

It was a nice time with you guys, I'm sure there will be more of this right?! Good times! =)
Again thank you! =) More bloggers... more fun!
