LIZZIE AGUINALDO Releases Debut Single "Baka Pwede Na" Under Star Music

Saturday, June 03, 2023

She's just starting but everything seems to be falling into place, that's how I see Lizzie Aguinaldo. She just recently released her debut single "Baka Pwede Na" composed by multi awarded songwriter and director Joven Tan. This is under Star Music.

Lizzie says "I hope this song will be something that people would play whenever they feel giddy, in love, or even when they remember that special someone in their life, particularly those in my generation. I love how  simple Direk Joven Tan made this song, and I hope people feel the whole vibe of my first single."

She adds "I've been dreaming of becoming a singer ever since I was 8, and recording "Baka Pwede Na" and the whole experience is unbelievable! It's a mix of being nervous and excited, I was already thinking of having this be a movie soundtrack. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to do this now! My school fully supported me, I was shocked they put up a billboard on our school, and I was so happy to see that. I must say, even though I don't have experience in relationships, I think I made the connection with the crushes I had in the past. It was a nice process because Direk Joven made the song so fast, I think we only took 2 weeks to record it. I do write songs, but haven't had the chance to release that. I do have formal training, I actually have my voice coach here right now. I get inspired with Taylor Swift songs, even OPM bands, I love listening to them as well. I love Zack Tabudlo and his songs, I hope to get to work with them soon."

Direk Joven Tan says "Lizzie already had a huge range when we first met, and I'm quite sure she'll hone this even more in due time, it'll be easy to work and develop which is why when they recommended her to me, I immediately said yes and worked with her."

"Baka Pwede Na" is available on streaming platforms now so make sure to download or stream it and see why there's so much promise for the young CaviteƱa. Just search for Lizzie Aguinaldo on Spotify!

Congratulations Lizzie! Can't wait to see you appear in shows here and around the globe! By the way, the event was supported by Lucky Prince Homes which Lizzie Aguinaldo is also an endorser of.

Ria Atayde Made Heads Turn at MIPCOM Cannes

Thursday, October 27, 2022

When I first interviewed her a couple years back, I felt like I was just taking to a long lost friend/family. There are few instances when I genuinely feel that connection especially when talking to artists in this industry. She's very beautiful and you could see how much passion she pours in for her craft. She's the gorgeous Ria Atayde and I couldn't be more proud of her recent achievements.

She's made heads turn and taken the spotlight during the MIPCOM Cannes event they attended for Cattleya Killer, to showcase the film to decision makers and international distributors. She's done the legwork of doing several hit shows and done different characters, positioning herself as one of the most spirited actresses of this generation. She has also donned several magazines, a trusted woman for endorsements, also has become the exemplary face of body positivity while doing charity work closest to her heart.

This big project which Ria is a huge part of is Directed by famed film maker Dan Villegas. The story concentrates on a supposed copycat killer which happened in Manila during the 90's which spooked the nation of a serial killer. It's composed of a great cast and her brother Congressman Arjo Atayde portrayed the lead role. It'll be interesting to see how the international audience would react on how Filipino films are made. Ria is also involved and supporting Nathan Studios instrumental to create world class Filipino content for the world stage. Ria is definitely inspiring a lot of people with her line of work, brought upon by her innate hard work, dedication, tenacity to a craft she loves.

Ria is going to make waves internationally, I could feel it. A woman who has done remarkable work and continues to inspire others, she deserves all the accolades and achievements she's getting now. If you want to know more about her and Cattleya Killer, follow Ria Atayde on IG @ria and @nathan.studios. They'll be posting updates about the film in the next few months so stay tuned!

Leilani Kate Yalung Debuts with 18 Piece Collection

Saturday, November 16, 2019

What were you doing when you were 18?

I for most must have been just looking for trouble, but I haven't reflected on that quite enough til I saw this today. Leilani Kate Yalung is a budding young designer. She's a gorgeous young lady educated in Style Studio, SoFA, SLIMS and currently finishing her course in ICEFDS. After doing several fashion shows and private clients, she's raring to release her very own 18 piece collection inspired by Filipino culture on her debut fashion show held at Buddha Bar Manila, Picar Place in Makati.

Her mom warmly welcomed guests and the press.

In attendance was Kate's family and friends, several distinguished politicians, artists, influencers and TV people. This is sort of a prelude to what she desires to be the collection she'll be releasing in 2020. We took the trip down south to witness how she wants to celebrate her birthday, this is special and she did pull out her guns.

I like her use of sheer fabric, organza, and the likeness of it with native blouses we also see in Filipiniana wear. Probably to simulate the "baro" part.

She also did a couple of them in blush pink/old rose. It looks very feminine, especially the ones that have folds, ruffled, and tapered.

My personal favorite was this red number. You're gonna be absolutely fun in parties wearing this!

Some of her dresses have intricate beadwork and sewn in flowers, crystals. That must have taken a lot of time to finish.

Then for the finale, she came out with a textured and beaded gown that's got a trail for days!

Congratulations and happy birthday Leilani Kate Yalung! You're a very promising designer, very passionate. I hope you do get to showcase more of your work in the coming years. Take it one step at a time, I won't be surprised if you get what you want earlier. I've seen your structured pieces in shows before and the workmanship is evident.

See you on the runway!

Online Filipina Dating: The Things You Need to Know

Wednesday, April 12, 2017

The number of people who want to meet and date single Filipinas have been growing in the last few years. With their one-of -a- kind beauty and charm, this is not very surprising.

It’s not hard to find amazing Filipinas online. There are hundreds of them that use a dating site for single Filipinas, while there are also others who prefer to use the mainstream social media. No matter which way you want to reach them, there are some things you should know first if you want to really capture their hearts through online dating.

Filipinas are very conservative

Filipino women are raised in a culture where they are taught to always act reserved. They place very high value in themselves no matter what their social status is. Don’t be surprised if the Filipina you are dating is not very comfortable with when talking about sex and intimacy.

Filipinas have beliefs that are rooted in Christianity

The Philippines is the biggest Christian country in Asia, and the 5th biggest Christian country in the world. Although the entire population is divided among different denominations, their beliefs, values, and practices are very similar.

Filipinas will appreciate men who have respect for their religion, as they grew up in families that observe the Christian traditions very strictly. Do not make jokes about it or make fun of it. It would help you in your Filipino dating journey if you always display good manners and show respect for others constantly.

Filipinas love men with good humor

Filipinas are carefree and they love to hear good jokes. They laugh easily and would enjoy your company if you make an effort to make them feel happy. Just make sure that you don’t tell them something offensive to their culture and religion.

Filipinas love a romantic partner

If you watch Filipino produced films and TV shows, you would know that Filipinas love the art of romance. They are drawn to men who will shower them with sweet words and gifts. They also fall easily for men who will make themselves available immediately in times of her troubles.

Filipinas look for romantic men even in an online Filipino dating site. You don’t need to send her flowers and gifts all the time, but make an effort to be sweet. Check on her regularly and let her know that you want to make sure she’s okay. Take interest in her interests and engage in meaningful conversations. As long as you don’t act too clingy, chances are she’ll be wanting to be in a relationship with you quickly, too.

Filipina dating experiences are certainly very unique. Dealing with a culture that places such high value in women and commitment can be quite difficult at first, but you will learn a lot along the way. There is definitely nothing that should hinder you from giving it a try.

Tingting Cojuangco Announces "Tingtings List: The Elegant Filipina"

Tuesday, September 08, 2015

Had the chance to meet Ms. Tingting Cojuangco a month ago, it was a good thing. How awesome do you think is it to meet a woman with timeless beauty? How do you quantify elegance? Who do you think is an Elegant Filipina? These questions lingered my mind when she informed us of an upcoming event on the 22nd of September at the Diamond Hotel Ballroom. The place will bare witness as Ms. Tingting Cojuangco announces Tingtings List: The Elegant Filipina.

During the interview Ms. Tingting says "Initially they wanted to have someone recognize just the best dressed, and as we were evolving during meetings, we wanted a professional group to do it. With Pete Cura of Core Plan and we got through to a concept. I wanted the idea of not just being best dressed, but wanted more of how refined, how consistent, with good manners, you say the right things at the right time, it's something that parents taught us when we were small, being dressed nice is a bonus. That's the elegant Filipina. We made the list with Anton San Diego, Chit Lijauco, Mark Higgins, Tina Ocampo and Lisette Espiritu and asked them if we're on the right track about our thoughts and it was a good thing to listen to some advice. There was never a girl that was not okay when we had them listed, but there were more of someone better than the other one. That's how we came up with the list. We wanted to find 8 and it was actually very difficult to find elegant Filipinas. We asked to extend it to 13 but three of the women on the list is out of the country, so we'll invite them hopefully in the next one. There's always next year.

An elegant Filipina is refined, has manners, she fixes herself whether in or out of the house. You don't have to buy a new dress all the time, it's an instilled thing since we're kids and it's carried on, even if in my age now we don't talk when your parents are talking to someone, you do proper norms, something decent in the standards of society. It's basic, in fact I finished the manual for PNP for etiquette and it's meant more for everybody. It's simple reminders, etiquette, one that should remember all the time. It's to teach, it's refinement and how she acts, that's an elegant Filipina. It's a matter of knowing yourself, adapting to the things you do, it's what's proper. It's as simple as saying Excuse me, Please and Thank You. A fashion show will complement the list, we will honor the women, to say these are the elegant women. They already know who they are since we had to shoot. We'll release the names perhaps a week before the event."

And they did!

She adds "There are young girls now that can vie for it soon, but they're not home grown because they have their own stylists. Women should be exposed to people, limelight, they learn from the world out there so you kinda en-vibe the culture, these are the women I am looking for. It will happen in Diamond Hotel. I personally chose Albert Andrada, Rajo Laurel, Ronaldo Arnaldo, JC Buendia and they will have a new collection just for the show. They're all going to make a new collection just for the event and it will complement our elegant Filipinas. We had 17 people in mind and it was hard to put them in a short list. We burnt the wires and took us about two weeks. I also want to protect the women I chose, I think so, this is my list. Our beneficiaries are going to be some weavers in La Trinidad in Benguet so they get money to buy thread and looms. We are also going to train 100 individuals in TESDA for a month, we're planning to put up a fashion center in the Visayas. We'll do it again next year hopefully. But I'm sure we're not going to do worst dressed, that's mean. Next year will be a different set, it has a lot to do with etiquette, an overall package. Hopefully, Filipinos get inspired.

I can't wait to see the Elegant Filipinas and the awesome fashion show happening this September 22 at the Diamond Hotel Ballroom from 6-9PM. I'll make sure I get to take shots of the runway. Congratulations on this endeavor Ms. Tingting!

Rose Fostanes: My Way

Tuesday, June 17, 2014

Rose Fostanes sings "This is my life"

Filipina caregiver Rose "Osang" Fostanes sang her heart out a few days ago in a press dinner at Sir Boy's Food Republic in Quezon City. Rose Fostanes won the hearts of people worldwide for winning XFactor Israel which happened a couple months ago. She went back to the Philippines to record and promote her own album released by Star Records. She happily waved the thing when we sat down with her that evening. She laments "This is it, this is my dream! I now have my own album!".

I have already known her story because I followed her journey in XFactor Israel in Youtube videos but I didn't know how much struggle she has gone through being an OFW. Her family is so proud of her because she has fulfilled a life long dream at the age of 45. It's a little late she says but she's so happy she won the stint even if she's not an Israeli. She also says it was awesome to see the Israeli's to be so genuinely good to her. No matter how flawed some of her songs are, they still applaud her normally. She is a little sad though that some Pinoys have been too critical about her performances and says she reads all those comments from websites. She is a little sad but hopeful that this in some way would change. Going back to her album, she says this has been a really good blessing for her and she also hopes that Filipinos would appreciate how much work is put in in these songs. Her interpretations of classics and the new songs from world class composers was a surprise. I even heard something very pop and modern which she says was given to her in Israel even if she didn't win XFactor yet, a number that you should never miss to listen to. Who knows, she might end up hitting the charts soon and get played regularly in the airwaves, something that she wishes to see soon.

She hopes that you continue to support her like the time you watched her in X Factor Israel. "Rose Fostanes: My Way" is now available in major record stores nationwide and is released by Star Records.
