PepsiCo Launches HARD MOUNTAIN DEW in the Philippines

Things are getting a lot different in Manila as PepsiCo announces the launch of their new boozy beverage called HARD MOUNTAIN DEW. This was launched back in 2022 in the US and has been a hit and is available in different flavors. This is also caffeine free, no added sugars and only has 100 calories per serving. It also stands at 5% ABV to give you that buzz, and is quite fun to be enjoyed by friends after work or play. 

Nitin Bhandari the Senior Director and GM for PepsiCo PH, Malaysia and SG says "This is a step forward , pushing boundaries to the needs of our consumers. This is a huge opportunity and is expected to grow in the next few years. These are crafted for adults and will be available in canned 4 pack bundles in supermarkets, stores and bars nationwide. For now we are offering the Original and Beach Blast flavors!"

CONG vs IVANA ALAWI on Mountain Dew's Battle of Bangis!

Two massive online personalities, one is Cong of CONGTV and the other, Ivana Alawi. Cong is funny, hits the right notes when it comes to gaming, Ivana on the other hand just have so much men adore her. Now what if these two gigantic personalities on YouTube suddenly had to battle it out? What am I talking about? It's called BATTLE OF BANGIS. It's Mountain Dew's very own way to test who's the best in physical, mental, emotional strength and teamwork.  

Now how do they do this? Easy. From October 10 to 27, the two and their respective teammates will undergo several bootcamp challenges in categories like Pisikalan, Walang Iyakan, Mind Over Matter then Tropahan. This means they'll be going through different adventures and activities to see who's best. Then they will have the finale Mountain Dew Battle of Bangis D'Ultimate Showdown on the 7th of November, that's next month.

This all started when Junnie Boy thanked the public when they worked with James Reid. They kinda started wishing who they wanted to collaborate with and out of his mouth he uttered the name of Ivana Alawi. Ivana then posted in another vlog that she's accepting the challenge and said "Bangis Tayo Eh!". And now, we can't wait to see what will happen next!

Oh and for those who would watch Cong and Ivana from the comforts of their homes, you too will have the chance to win the Mountain Dew Battle of Bangis. Just do your take of the challenges you see in the bootcamp and shoot a video, upload it on FB (publicly) and use the hashtag #DewBattleOfBangis and it'll count as an entry. That way, you can be part of their team.

Cong will team up with Mika Salamanca, Junnie Boy and Sachzna. Ivana on the other hand will be playing with Khengi Saito, Tiktok femme Yuki Takahashi and Albert Nicolas. They'll be recruiting 6 of you who will post your entries on social media then face each other in the finals. It'll be hosted by Sam YG and James Reid will also be there to witness the festivities. It will be streamed on Mountain Dew's Facebook pga on the consecutive weeks, and the finals of course.

Proceeds of this particular event will go to chosen charities Streets School and Child Hope. They are causes that are close to Ivana and Cong's heart. They will be providing new tablets for their school needs. Winner gets 100 tablets, the other will get 50. If you want to know more, check out this video!

If it ain't broke, why fix it?

We've been confined in our homes for a little over a year now and since quarantine restrictions were set in Manila, entertainment was something that people have been looking forward to everyday. Perhaps to get their mind off things, or keep their family in high spirits.  Mountain Dew knows how important that is so aside from the usual Tiktok trends that people have been doing these past few months, they went in and started to put a new twist on it and held their new campaign "Mas Cool Pag May Dew Ice".

In it, they chose three viral videos and put James Reid and Dew Ice in the mix making it even cooler. First is the guy who got caught playing a game during online class who mistakenly got his mic on during a game. Second is everyone's favorite thing to do, watching K-Dramas and third is about the "Me and My Jowa Challenge" of which all, have garnered millions of views already. It just was made special as James appeared in all of them plus of course, Mas Cool Pag May Dew Ice right?

And of course, we can't just say it here, we had to try it ourselves! It's been so hot these past few months and this was just the refreshing drink I needed to have. I put it in the freezer for an hour or so and dang, it was so good right after a meal. It tasted sharp, it tasted like lime and it's not too sweet! It's also available in different sizes, but I want the bigger one so I could share with friends and family.

Are you Team Daniel? Or Team James?

Well... You shouldn't have to choose. You see, both these guys have their own star quality, Daniel is a crooner, James is an RnB sensation, they are both great actors, they have really good successful shows, have the love of their lives beside them and yes, they're both darn good looking. I'm a fan of both of these guys and it shouldn't be an issue.

Now the dilemma might be your preference about the drinks they endorse, Daniel has Pepsi, while James has Mountain Dew. The former has deep rich cola taste while the other has a lime fresh fizz on it, both drinks are staple in Filipino lunch and snack tables, the brands probably knew it would be a better idea to put them together and let you decide what's better.

In the past weeks, everyone was guessing if this was a new movie, a new TV show or a commercial, they heard you and did history in front of your eyes. These are good lads and they haven't worked together aside from their TV guestings, but to make you aware, they've got a new commercial out for the Doble Hataw promo. In the shoot, Daniel drove a sports car while James drove a Pickup Truck, they love em both and even got the chance to drift it. The shoot was fun and chill, so in a sense a very memorable one to be in this project.

Mountain Dew’s Dew Day 2019!

Pro Gamers who went into the finals were from the same team. It was a 5 round match and they gave it their best!

I'm a gamer, a huge one at that. It's been a while since I've been to a Mountain Dew event (prolly last year where I won a Nintendo Switch). So going all the way to Market!Market! was not much of a bother because I wanted to see the scene on gaming today. There were tons of kids in the audience (felt a little old realizing this) but I was impressed how some of them were able to hold their spot playing Tekken 7 and Mobile Legends, they could actually give me a challenge LOL.

Free Tekken 7 games were also given to the public, I spent most of my day here!

Bret lost but he had plans, he brought and introduced James Reid's toughest opponent. It's Nadine Lustre!

This wall was like a VR induced air hockey, but you have to climb it on a wall to play.

Saw UAAP man Ricci Rivero in the crowd

Mountain Dew Executives went on stage and gave us a surprise, they said “We have an announcement to make, we are proud to say that Mountain Dew is the official game fuel of the nationwide Sea Games Philippine E Sports Team! Mountain Dew is happy to see the sheer amount of people who showed up today. Hopefully we’ll have an even bigger event next year! With mountain dew on hand you’re surely going to have a good time!”

Chot Reyes says “As far as 3 years ago we have been doing E Sports in TV5 and ESPN5, this is for the esports community and we will meet each other in the upcoming Asian games.”

We can't wait to be champs in SEA Games!

Guess who won?

Nadine Lustre won of course! She handled Xiaoyu quite good that James didn't stand a chance with the matches.

There were also several Nintendo Switch consoles on the side for everyone to play.

There was also a Mobile Legends match between Team Dogie and Team Ashley.  They didn't settle the draw.

Careless Music Manila performed for everyone and got us in the mood for a shirt concert.

With a Mountain Dew on hand, we kept our cool in the middle of the Market!Market! entertainment venue.

Congratulations Mountain Dew! Can't wait for next year's event! They promised it will be BIGGER!

James Reid for #DewIdol - Mountain Dew

He is blessed, he's got an illustrious career ahead of him and the love of his life by his side. People notice how he's worked hard for it, paid his dues and now his sacrifices are bearing fruit. International brand Mountain Dew just identified him as the new #DewIdol and consequently releasing a new beverage size with the same name. 

Mountain Dew also has released a new commercial seeing this good looking guy pay a man 10 pesos for the drink, forcing a few swashbuckling moves until he got his attention, he needed to do that because the hearthrob didn't know that this drink only costs Php 8.00. 

Unbelievable? Believe it! 

 Before the event even started, I was roaming around the event area and James was already going through the booths with his friends enjoying what seems to be an experience, of what a new Dew Idol should be. Ball in hand, he was already shooting hoops. Surprisingly he's good at it!

Mountain Dew Asks YOU to Choose, Gets YOU New Pickup Truck!

I had a ton of work, a photoshoot and a full working day during this launch so I missed it. Although that doesn't mean I wouldn't enjoy what Mountain Dew has up their sleeves at home. See, they have come out with Dewmocracy. A term they coined to introduce two of their newest flavors. I am currently a stockholder of Mountain Dew (a joke, but I've probably held down countless liters of the original Mountain Dew these past few years). I've probably drank half of it during my blue collar days as it keeps me awake in the office, people get scared when they see me easily drink a whole 1.5 bottle in one sitting. I guess it's because I like the lime flavor, it takes me back to when we were kids and I enjoyed this in glass bottles. To cut the long story short, I'm a big fan. Now that they've decided to make us have a CHOICE with these new Mountain Dew flavors, I couldn't wait to get my hands on Mountain Dew Live Wire and Mountain Dew Blue Shock. Now how about the taste?

Judging by the looks of it, colors are VERY attractive. The Mountain Dew LiveWire is pretty much your lovely Dew with a blast of Orange. When cold, you get to feel that extreme burst and sharpness on your tongue, then leaves you with a more intense orange flavor. It was like a jolt, but definitely something to love other than the original one. 

The other one is the Mountain Dew BlueShock. Like the name says, it's Raspberry Citrus flavor comes like a shock. I bet this would be good for those who want something unique, because it is different. Taste wise, it's like a mix of fruit juice or more of a mocktail without the guilt of alcohol and just uses 2 fruit flavors to achieve that.

For those who would choose Mountain Dew Blue Shock or Mountain Dew Live Wire, they're making it even EXTRA fun by letting you choose your favorite among these two flavors. This is a DEWmocracy after all and everyone who practices his voice and use either hashtags #DewBlueShock or #DewLiveWire would stand a chance to win A NEW PICKUP TRUCK when you vote the winning flavor.
