RIA ATAYDE's Back In Primetime on VIRAL SCANDAL

She's one of the most beautiful actresses in the Philippines and yes, she's going back to primetime programming in their new show called VIRAL SCANDAL. It's a social drama set to be shown this coming November 15th in ABSCBN partner networks like the Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, iWant TFC, TFC, and Jeepney TV. This will also be shown on A2Z Channel 11 and
TV 5 on free to air broadcast channels.

The series is directed by Dado Lumibao and Froy Allan Leonardo. It's about the story of a young girl who got involved in a scandalous video. It has torn her family apart, and changed the lives of so many people. Ria plays Laura Dizon who's primary aim is to get those who have done this, their time in court, and get justice.

It's been a while since Ria played someone pivotal as her last one was Parasite Island back in 2019. She's gotten to work with a lot of talented actors, veterans whom she have been able to throw lines with. I can't wait to see more of Ria this time since it's an intense gripping drama. She's one of the most accomplished actresses in the country with top rating primetime series like Ninging, My Dear Heart,
Halik, and episodes of Maalaala Mo Kaya (of which she won 2016 PMPC Best New Female TV Personality). Ria also appeared in high grossing "Can We Still Be Friends", The Girl In the Orange Dress, The Hows of Us and Love or Money which most of which are under Star Cinema. She also is the face of popular beauty brand Beautederm and stalwart of several social advocacies including Voter Registration and join movements against false information on the internet which this series also tackles.

Celestial Tiger Entertainment Brings KIX and THRILL to The Philippines!

Cable TV has gone leaps and bounds in programming. I remember when we only had 2 cable companies in the Philippines and our only means of watching movies were a few channels, not that we're too old but the cable service industry in the Philippines is really quite young. Now, there are hundreds of programs, thousands of movies all that could be delivered in the comforts of your own homes. Now we've heard something even better!

National Geographic Channel Presents Doomsday Preppers!

I know Earth will end some day. I know this rock will also cease to stop spinning. I know there will be thousands of earthquakes, storms, fire, meteors, comets which I won't probably see in this lifetime. Well I might if we end up really having that end of the world thing come December 21, 2012 according to the Mayan and Egyptian calendar. Weather it is going to happen or not it pays to be ready. When getting ready for the end of the world, what would you do? Well they've got people and whole families doing that just now in the USA. Case in point are these doomsday preppers!

Yes, National Geographic Channel wanted you to stay in your shelters and see these extreme preparations that other people elsewhere in the world does to survive any threat that his end of the world prediction has brought upon us.

Imagine the sun having millions of atomic explosions suddenly sends a huge solar flare from the sky and sends immeasurable damage to communication, electricity and totally disabling every bit of man made technology there is in the planet. We probably would live a very sad and uncomfortable lives but there's this guy who prepared for this. He made his own shelter underground, stocked on thousands of dollars worth of supplies like food and all the necessities this early. 

He can survive all of this comfortably while we depend on others too much and probably perish from hunger and other means. Coleen and Scott has a full pantry, prepping and stockpiling food, water, protein (yes they have tons of meat in bottles etc.). They can even morse code in the dark and speak tagalog. Cathy prepares for black swan events like earthquakes and grows their food in the backyard, they are that prepared. Dennis on the other hand and his whole family prepared for economic chaos/hyperinflation and does prepare food, cans em almost the whole day. They can last for a whole year without going out and buy something in a grocery. He also delegates labor to his family members making them better equipped than any other family in the US and in the world. It is rare but without them doing this and disaster strikes, how can we ever get prepared?

It's a good thing National Geographic Channel has got the next best thing we should do instead of just minding the warning signs.

Watch how they do it and more come September 17 on your local National Geographic Channels at 9PM. We already got to watch a couple of episodes during the launch and you'll surely gonna think about what will happen if it does occur. SKY Cable Brings More Things To Watch This July!

I've been subscribed for the longest time with SKY Cable and that wouldn't change anytime soon. It's so nice to see they are amping up their line of channels through Sky Cable Select this July. I've seen these programs and they are pretty interesting. 

The best cars, vintage or new they've got it all here in Car Crazy Central. Make sure you join Barry Meguiar as he goes around the world to the best events just to give you a closer look at these 4 wheeled wonders. This is the part where I say I got to like cars more after seeing this LOL. 

I don't know who in the right mind would do stunts or death defying things on TV. Though dangerous it looks like some people are entertained by this, what I'm interested in is how this man thinks. It's not everyday that we see people walk on structures as gigantic as this Ferris Wheel without harnesses. If you just see how these people get their jaws drop on TV, you'll probably do the same.

The everglades of Florida just became more interesting as these brothers take you around interesting spots and let you check out the flora and fauna in this region. They're called the Swamp Brothers and they will make you either squirm or get more interested with what they have in their hands. See the gators? Kinda cute huh?

Speaking of cute, here's a shot of one episode in Toddlers and Tiaras. How do these stage moms even get their kids to do this at an early age. Definitely something to talk about with child protection or pageants overall. All these programs can be seen through Sky Cable's channels like Discovery Channel(SKYcable channel 39), Discovery Home & Health (SKYcable channel 121), Discovery Turbo (SKYcable channel 122) and (SKYcable ch 40) Animal Planet. Fears and Survival on SKYcable Select!

I'm currently subscribed through SKYCABLE SILVER so I get to watch these shows on a regular basis, but for those of you who are in SKYCABLE SELECT you better get your hands on these two channels I'm gonna mention so you get the best experience with your kids this month!

Conquering fears is definitely something that you would want to inculcate in your kids minds early on, why not subscribe to Animal Planet and get those educational shows a try so you can spark your kids interests THIS EARLY! It'll be a different kind of bonding experience while the show and your explanations make this a better BIOLOGICAL/ZOOLOGICAL class all together for your kids! That's what makes me stare at the TV screen so much these days, they even got My Extreme Animal Phobia Tuesday 11PM premiering on the channel all this month!

If that ain't enough reason to stick to SKYCABLE, have you ever experienced going to the tropics without anything to survive on?! I haven't either. But for those who love to experiment, this would probably be the best thing to watch in your own living room through DISCOVERY. Something you want to experience but you can't do it yourself? This is indeed the next BEST thing! Mykel Hawk and Ruth England will put their survival skills and marriage to the ultimate test. Be Candidly Candified This Last Quarter!

When I was asked about what I know about Candy Pangilinan, I said I know a lot. I probably know a lot of details that she might not even want to remember i.e. her love life, some funny moments with people etc. I was a little serious when I said that I actually adore her. Her humor, her spunk for life and the reason for her existence "Quentin". I also love the little stories in between. I've been a silent reader of her blog since its inception and I find it therapeutic to read the entries she wrote via the comfort room (she sits there and write from her laptop if I remember it correctly). I am fond of her anecdotes and experiences with her "Mom and her amigas" for catechism class/feminist groups or whatnot. I love how she inserts those jokes in between and her relationships with Aiko, Carmina and Gelli... plus the spicy details of the men in her life. I also know what she said about UST on hosting their quadricentennial celebration but that's too much information. I stopped quite a while reading her entries because she rarely updates her blog aptly named CANDIDLY, but I don't blame her for that. She needs the time for work and family and I'm just a fan of her work; plus the fact that I like how she lives her life... she's a good person. I'd really love to meet her someday.

I guess everyone knows by now that she's working with Manny Pangilinan's TV-5. She currently stars on the adaptation of an 80's hit movie called Bagets, which also airs on the same channel Sundays at 3 p.m. right after Paparazzi. Candy is also working on an upcoming television adaptation the Gabby Sharon starrer; the classic film "P.S. I Love You" to be shown also on the Kapatid network soon. She's got some projects coming up like individual improv shows that will be the delight of everyone! With her timing and comedic sense I'm sure there will be more opportunities coming her way and I can't wait to watch her shows, movies and series. I saw she worked with a couple of veteran actors and actresses already in Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin and she fared quite well afaik. I'd be glad to watch her soon, so for you guys who are up for this promising actress and her work make sure you stick to TV5, Viva and Genesis projects. Candy will surely make you feel better! :)

Maria La Del Barrio - Watch it on August 15!

Maybe you have watched this Mexican Telenovela original and grown quite amused of Thalia's antics while she battles her way through life as a peasant in Maria La Del Barrio. ABS CBN and Televisa - as part of their commitment to world class broadcasting will stage the Philippine version of this program on August 15, 2011. Aren't you guys excited?! =)

Do you know who's going to play the part of Maria and Luis Fernando?! It's two of the hottest stars of Philippine Television; Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee. It was actually my first time to see them and I wasn't disappointed. They were so nice and accommodating in spite of their very busy schedules that day.

One by one they went out of the studio and into the Red Carpet!

Ms. Angel Aquino was stunningly beautiful. I still want to have a photoshoot with her someday. Ian Veneracion was still looking so young! It was like he didn't age! The ever so gorgeous Assunta de Rossi who made waves in PNOY's SONA was there also since she portrayed the role of Maria's Mom in the flick.

Pau Diaz was nice and sunny in her yellow dress. She was excited to see all her batchmates from SCQ. They had a reunion a couple of days ago and it was nice that they still are that close even if some of them have their own lives in the states. She will play the villainess Soraya's character. Arron Villaflor plays the role of Enchong's brother who had a soft spot for Erich in this program. He's doing matured roles it seems and this is a pretty good break for him.

That's WAPAAAK! Ms. K Brosas who arrived early (so professional!) and was a ton of laughs while on stage during the press conference. She is a breath of fresh air and I'm so glad I follow her on twitter. :) She's going to make a little difficult for Erich though in the program. That's Jake Roxas on the right and he's coming back from a long hiatus because of some management problems he had in the past. Now he's going to get more acting jobs since he did quite great in the Vampire-Werewolf local flick he did a couple of months ago. Still good looking like me. :)

Playing villain is Gio Alvarez who played quite a number of roles in the movies but didn't get that much breaks on TV. He's doing this for his family and it was nice to hear that they (his real life wife) are getting married soon. Katya Santos (fresh from a breakup I think?!) was also there because she'll play a very important part in the coal factories where Maria will work in the beginning of the show. She did lose a lot of weight and followed a strict diet plus her engagements with Hotbabes made her dance quite a lot, she's very pretty still.

Banana Split regular Badjie Mortiz played the role of the household driver and love interest of Ms. K Brosas. This will surely be something hilarious when you guys get to start and see their story. Young and off her days of Going Bulilit; Jane Oineza will also have her share of love interests in the story but you have to watch it as they said. Newcomer Justin Gonzales will also be in this tv program and thanks everyone for giving him a break. This will truly be a test on his acting skills and might be a make or break thing in ABSCBN, I'm sure he'll do a pretty good job on this one!

Proud Directors Ms. Rory Quintos and Richard Somes assures everyone that each bit and piece of this Maria la del Barrio staging will adore the hearts of primetime viewers here and abroad! "Working with great actors and actresses who gave justice to the roles would guarantee this will be one great show" said Director Rory about Marila la del Barrio.

Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee was VERY excited to work with each other. Although they admit they wanted to be romantically involved they had an agreement to just keep the friendship they have so as to not affect their professional lives. They know that sometimes it also affects other actors and actresses if they fight (as lovers) so they wanted to do this so as to keep everything on status quo while they are young and in the prime of their careers.

Erich was so nice to stop and pose for me when I asked her in the very last bit because I didn't get to shoot them that much while a throng of reporters from other agencies were there. They are so excited about this project and was so glad it is going to be shown now on primetime. Their fans must be on their toes awaiting August 15 to come!
