The who's who of public relations gathered together at the 60th Anvil Awards. Think of it as the Oscars of communications and public relations in the country. Getting a nod from these folks certainly means a lot especially for campaigns run in companies that significantly impact the community and industry. Well the folks from DigiP|us Interactive didn't just get one but 3 honors. A Gold Anvil was given to DigiP|us for their rebranding campaign called "DigiP|us Reimagined: Pioneering Fun, Technology and Community". They also used an integrated report framework for the 2023 Integrated Report to show where they are heading in the years to come. It has made them even eager to deliver value for customers and the communities they serve. Fighting Social Injustice "Abogado ng Bayan" Atty. Heyz Premieres on PTV4

Saturday, November 18, 2023

The Philippines, when you hear about our country and the cases of injustice, do you still believe in the system? Most of you probably have given up, thrown in the towel, flipped the table and wouldn't want to even look if you still have rights in this country of ours. Much of us believe that justice is only for the rich, those who could afford it and just suffer not having what is right. Heartbreaking no?

She started doing this January this year on Facebook, and got traction and love from viewers from across the country. When folks from Velvet Media, Inc., Ms. Michelle Perez, Directors Mar Peralta, Ronald Ryan Litao, Producer Jayjay Maghirang of Velvet and Atty. Heyz got into talks about doing the show, things really felt mutual which made mounting this program quite fast on pubic station PTV4.

Atty.Heyz says "The objective is to help people, there's a higher penetration in broadcast so I could reach more. The PTV4 show will be every Saturday mornings, and will be for all ages. There will be someone who can answer law questions, litigation, because that is what I do on a normal day. I also do corporate contracts, and I am effective in explaining things with the masses. This is one of the things I am doing for public service because I've done much in private practice. You can see that in the episodes we have, some simple, some complicated,  which you can easily digest. If you could see our FB messages, it's a lot and I couldn't answer all of them sometimes, we need to help them all."

Actress, Host and Velvet Media Inc. Director of Marketing and Public Relations Ms. Bianca Lapus adds "The best thing about our team is when we have an idea, we share it and believe in it because of our core values. Regardless of our roles, we listen to each other. This is also our first time to venture into TV, it's easy to work with her because our brainstorming took a few minutes and now we are having our first program on Saturday. I hope we could feature more celebrities, like Claudine Barretto, Badjao Girl, so they get to know their rights, or even Vhong when the time is right. Atty. Heyz has that gift when she talks because even kids understand it. She can say things even better than layman's terms. She is really someone for the masses."

Here's our video coverage of the interview last Thursday.

Atty. Heyz definitely has the heart to fight social injustice, even if she's already successful in her private practice and law firm, she makes it a point to help those who need it. If you're someone who wants to understand the laws of the land, or need help to fight for your rights as a citizen of this country, go listen to the discussions and learn what you can do to protect yourself, your family and others. They will also be having guests like celebrities, influencers and personalities to also share their experience. They will also be guided by Atty. Heyz and explain in Tagalog what you need to know.

The show will premiere this Saturday at 10:30AM to 11:30AM. If you missed it, they are also on Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and on PTV4's social channels. This is produced by Velvet Media Inc.

CLOWNS in an ESCALADE?

Wednesday, March 01, 2023

Looks like talk has been running around town about an Escalade plated number 7 that's being used for personal golf and c@sin0 time that has been seen trooping EDSA's bus lane reserved for carousel vehicles. Mind you, there's an Administrative Order 239 that bars ALL government vehicles to be used other than in official business. This is certainly alarming.

This person who is using it they say doesn't even have a government post, but a Dad of one, of whom is also allegedly known for destroying natural resources and not even sure if he's Filipino or not. Rumor says, he's even allegedly still facing a lawsuit about his citizenship, which follows a lot of questions about his lifestyle and motives.

We have heard of people doing this, but is this on another level of abuse? No remorse or abuse of power? You be the judge!

TaskUs Made These Ridiculous Pedestrian Lanes in Bohol

Thursday, October 06, 2022

The good people from TaskUs just made things brighter at their Tagbilaran City site in the province of Bohol. The most common pedestrian lane they used in the city just got spruced up which they call Ridiculous Roads: BOHOL, a project aimed to uplift the morale of the people of this city after they got hit with Typhoon Odette. It's been hard for much of the populace and seeing these pedestrian lanes in colorful ways would surely give the Boholanons a needed boost.

The artwork was done by Pahid Murals, a local art group that can commission work. This also comes after their recent voluntary employee donation campaign which amassed 2.6 Million pesos to help build homes of those affected by the typhoon. They also have some done in Antipolo City for road safety causes, it's quite awesome to see how TaskUs does community projects like these til now.

Congratulations to the men and women who are striving hard to change the lives of the people of Bohol, I hope it comes back to you ten fold.

Monday, August 30, 2021

After baring its plans to go public a few months ago and filing a very successful IPO this June 11th, Santa Monica based company TaskUS is paying cash or equity to their almost 30,000 employees this month. Company leaders were awarded equities while employees are awarded a one time cash bonus as accorded by their tenure in the corporation.

TaskUs CEO Bryce Maddock says "TaskUs exists because of our teammates and support organizations from HR, IT, and Finance. Without their help, there wouldn't be an IPO for the organization. We continue to invest in our people with industry leading benefits and career advancement opportunities. This is part of our teammate focused values so everyone gets a great employee experience when they work at TaskUS."

Re-opening The Economy with “Ingat Angat” Campaign

Thursday, October 08, 2020

You can join jumpstart the economy and it starts with this mega campaign by both public and private sector, they call this INGAT ANGAT. Honestly, I can't get over seeing different competing brands in one campaign and how they set aside pride and business to help the Philippines back on its feet.

This is a critical time for the government and private companies to get together amidst the pandemic. This is their initiative. Business has been greatly impacted, people are slowly opening up again, Filipinos are resilient and hopefully business is slowly gonna go back to normal.

Sec. Ramon Lopez DTI says “This is done in Bayanihan spirit. This has damaged our country, we feel it is difficult to bring back consumer confidence but it is important to have safety and economic movement at this time. This will help shift focus in balancing health and economy, a balancing act, manage the risk and help the revival of the economy. We continue to buy local, to rally everyone to go back to the new normal, still have health protocols, and DTI will be there to help and support this cause. Buy local!”

IATF Against Covid-19 Head Carlito Galvez Jr. says “This is our third phase, the government is keen on opening up our businesses. We need an equilibrium of both health and economy, to make it safe for everyone to conduct business and sustain our economic recovery. We need to work as a team, to lower our active COVID cases, to ensure we fully recover 100%. To increase capacity on public vehicles, doing it to ensure safe transport of our workers and earn sustainable incomes. The cases are declining in NCR but we should never let our guard down, we need to work together even further. Ingat tayong lahat!”

Sec. Harry Roque says “The Filipino Spirit of Bayanihan is there. We have medical equipment, testing, donations poured by private sector. Ingat Angat is important to inform people we must not leave in fear, and the President is appearing in advertisements and support the cause. This Monday we will have a cabinet meeting, to talk about how to save people from poverty. To allow the economy to recover, with safety in place. We need to open and improve the transport sector. Thank you to the private sector’s help! Mabuhay po tayong lahat!

Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala “Good morning! We have very tireless organizers. In the worst crisis, we saw everyone work together. The virus is the enemy, we need to work on health and the economy. Thank you to the Secretary for bringing the private and public sector together. The private sector has found our citizens who have confidence, moving together to create it with others. Together we shall revitalize our country together, to help us all move forward, to restart the economy. It is a pleasure to work with you all. The strong partnership between the public and private sector is important and we support you all, thank you!”

George Royeca of Angkas “Buhay or Hanapbuhay, this pandemic has cost a lot for our economy. Businesses have closed down, thus Taskforce T3 to test, trace and treat to become a stronger and resilient Philippines. The goal is simple, to equip government to reduce the risks, building facilities and increase capacity. We all should be cautious, recognize how to live with the virus, rebuild but keep safe. Teach Filipinos to co exist with the virus and get our lives back on track. Thank you for your undying help. This time, we need to Teach, trust and Transform.”

Margot Torres the SVP For Marketing of McDonalds says “Thank you to our partners from government, thank you for making time for this. I am excited Taskforce T3’s campaign and the help of different brands, even competing ones by volunteering their time and expertise to make sure our message comes across. We all want a resilient Philippines and the need for consumer confidence is essential. Recently, the government launched their campaign, by tomorrow we are launching this one. This is to address the need for consumer confidence, to make learned helplessness to empowered vigilance. Brands will serve as backdrop to real message, should not be a multi brand preso, or a hardsell branded effort. They should be inspired of the Filipino resilience and cautious optimism to move forward with our lives. We have produced 3 industries, restaurants, mobility, shopping and leisure. All brands will share these online videos and materials, in all their assets. This will be in multiple screens on October 9.”

Melvin Mangada “The campaign is going far from being fearful and anxious, to remind everyone we will get through this too. We will be vigilant and safe. To jumpstart the economy with consumer confidence. The ad test results show strong emotional connection, Ingat Angat will be launching this video. The campaign is not just about the most loved brands. We needed to thank them for allowing us. Eat out and keep safe. Go out and do what they need to do, but keep safe. Encourage people do things they like to do outside, safely too. We already have ready social cards where competing brands are in one post, we also have radio ads, partnered with Viber to have downloadables so companies can put these on banners, billboards, mall presence, celebrity videos, use #ingatangat on all posts. Thank you to all our partners who made this all possible.”

The entire world is facing this challenge, what sets the Filipinos apart is our resilience, when we all come together. These efforts to battle the pandemic is a call to restart the economy but not undermine health protocols to keep us all safe. Visit ingat-angat.com, FB and YT who will host the videos, viber for information dissemination and engagement platform for the campaign too. This is a campaign that will continue until needed.

Ingat Angat, Tayong Lahat!

Atom Araullo, Joyce Pring and Richard Heydarian for STAND FOR TRUTH

Friday, April 05, 2019

April 15 is going to be a little different. Next gen reporters will do STAND FOR TRUTH , all for 15 weeks. It is a program produced by GMA News and Public Affairs, funded by Youtube. They are an Innovation Fund Recepient.

This is promising as Richard Heydarian, Atom Araullo, Joyce Pring will be at the helm of the show. Field reporters include real young blood millennials, even Gen Z personalities namely Bhea Jeem Docyogen who is a proud Igorot and radio disc jockey from Baguio, Anthony Esguerra a smart reporter and fellow in New Media and Journalism at Ball State University, Indiana, USA, Asmarie Labao a former forester and DENR Information Officer from Marawi, Ardo Miravalles a Certified Public Account specializing in media and entertainment, Darwin Quirino a Communications Officer for Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of Middle East and African Affairs, Manal Sugadol, a licensed English teacher and a former administrative assistant from Cotabato, Larize Lee a Filipino-Chinese and former GMA Artist Center Public Relations Executive, the youngest of which is 17yo Eduard Faraon who is a Senior High School campus journalist and Jerald Uy a former TV reporter, Road Safety Advocate and vlogger. These guys and gals are just starting, so stay tuned as they unfurl their work on GMA’s online properties.

Atom says “They have undergone training with stellar names in journalism even people behind the camera to make these stories. It was a very strong field, 150 submissions and we had to pick 10 from it. They are young but not naive reporters and I can’t want to see them evolve. I would say it would be a waste of talent if we do not maximize the story telling talent of these reporters and journalists. The platform becomes bigger and bigger, it is not just for this organization. Anyone can upload content but there are lots of potential. The format is evolving, we want it to be fresh and different from television, visual but it is a daily show.”

Richard Heydarian adds “I was inspired when they pitched this to me, I got to know these people, I am a teacher by heart and these guys and gals are the cream of the crop. We are now talking about how to make this a team, to make this a gold standard for the region. We have a tough battle, but very confident in the team, we can sync productions so we could get more. We do not want this to be seasonal, these things can work, we hope this goes beyond what we are doing today.”

Joyce Pring says “Right now I am trying to manage my time, from Unang Hirit to events, to hosting in the evening then Unang Hirit again (sometimes sleeps in the car), but I have personal block-offs for time for family and since I am covering music I’ll be in Saguijo one day and the Balloon Festival this afternoon. It is going to be my content, I get to talk to the people behind the bands and events I have to cover. It is not a set of tasks because this is ever evolving, we have a lot of stories to tell. We have youtube as partners, so the reach will be massive.”

The show starts this Monday on GMA News and Public Affairs online channels (GMA’s website and GMA’s Youtube channel) on April 15 at 8PM. You should watch it if you want to Stand for Truth.

SM Launches "Art for Everyone" Today!

Saturday, February 27, 2016

Today is a good day for art and SM is going to celebrate it with established and new artists in a two day art fair called "Art for Everyone". It will be held simultaneously today Feb 27 until tomorrow the 28th in SM City North Edsa, SM Megamall, SM Aura, SM Southmall, SM City Cebu and SM City Lanang in Davao. This is also in part of the celebration of National Arts Month on it's 25th year since it was put into law in 1991. SM is continuing to support the local art scene and this is the first time to ever do it in 6 malls at the same time. Now, more people would be able to see how talented Filipinos are since this is in a larger venue plus it can be viewed free.

Curator Dr. Patrick Flores says "It is important to broaden the access to contemporary art. It'll give the public a better feel of these emerging artists, their work, and the galleries they belong to. We have been supporting them as they have a track record of professionalism and we cannot discount the fact that Filipino artists are world class!"

The "Art for Everyone" exhibit is organized in collaboration with Dr. Patrick Flores, Ms. Louise Marcelino of UP Vargas Museum and Mr. Peter Natividad of the Lopez Museum. Oh and yes, some of the pieces are up for sale so if you're collecting this might be a good place to discover worthy art. Open mall hours today, so see it!

Public Advisory From Our Friends at Smart

Monday, January 19, 2015

Wondering why there's no signal on your phone lately? Why is there no Internet too? Are you near in some places where Pope Francis is celebrating mass in Manila? Well if you put two and two together, you probably know why. We got this notice from our friends from Smart and Sun Cellular.

"Public Advisory :

In compliance with government orders, Smart and Sun Cellular have temporarily suspended mobile phone services in parts of Metro Manila that His Holiness Pope Francis will hold his activities today. This includes the University of Santo Tomas (UST), the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta Park and other areas of Metro Manila. This is part of comprehensive efforts to ensure the safety of the Pope and the public."

So you should understand, this is for the security of his holiness. Bear with it for a few days. Let us pray that he's going to be safe while he's here and when he goes back to the Vatican.

Jackie Rice Spends Meaningful Birthday At Philippine Orthopedic Center

Tuesday, April 15, 2014

Hi guys! It's been a while since our last event with GMA and this time we're covering a very special one because it's the birthday of Ms. Jackie Rice, one of GMA's most gorgeous women. I dare to say that because I've seen her in the flesh that afternoon and aside from the fact that she is physically gorgeous -  she's got a heart of an angel too. As seen above we had the funny Tess Bomb hosting this gig because the last thing that they probably want to hear is something sad during that occasion. We are in the Children's Ward of the Philippine Orthopedic Center. Honestly, it wasn't the nicest place in the world if you see the condition of the kids, but the thing we're doing here means a lot to Jackie as she had been in an accident a few years ago. Aside from that, she personally feels that she had to help these people because I've seen how they've been in this public hospital.

She went in and said hi to everyone. She has been going to other parts of the hospital and personally talking to some of the patients. Most of the admitted ones in the hospital are charity cases and don't pay a single cent because of their current economic conditions. They check the patients background to see if they are -  and most of them are also in serious state. I've never seen so many slings and screws inserted in people's bodies in my entire life. It was my first time there so forgive me, I was a little shocked to see that. I wasn't giving them any clues though because I know this is a good cause.

The hospital's chaplain explained how the patients need people to care for them, some of them even have cases like bone cancer of which they need to travel from the far flung provinces just to get care in this public hospital. I've seen the room and it was a little cramped. Some of the beds even had two patients in them which I was so worried about. It was quite disheartening to see them but it was a good thing Jackie Rice and everyone else was there to at least let them feel that people do care.

Tess Bomb was cracking jokes and that was the thing we needed that afternoon. I appreciated what she did for the kids and the relatives there because she kept them on their feet laughing crazily at her antics. I think more than the fun, they both brought them hope that they can get over this place and go back to their homes and be as productive as normal people too.

Jackie Rice was quite contented about her career. She's got regular shows and even a soap in the afternoon. She's part of Bubble Gang and also Inamorata. She's got dreams but was quite confident that she'll achieve success soon. She's not in a hurry nor is she not contented. She's thankful for the blessings that GMA has given her in the past years. As for getting married, she doesn't see that in the near future. I think I've seen her boyfriend on the sidelines when this event was happening. They look good but I'm sure that guy isn't in show business. Thanks to Petrol, Sweet Escape Cupcakes, Fernando's Bakeshop, Nail Files, Footworks and LeonPhilippe Dairy Fresh Milk who gave them what they need for strong bones. Perfect fit no? :)

You know what, this trip was all worth it. This is the reason why I love going with GMA Kapuso stars during charity events. When you see them approach the needy, their face lights up seeing stars like Jackie Rice lend a helping hand. I can't see why other stars shouldn't do this, after all they did help them reach where they are. Jackie Rice was humbled to have been able to help in her own little way and said if there was an opportunity to do this again, she'll say yes in a heartbeat. She's got a gorgeous face and body, but more than that... she's got a good heart. The hospital chaplain even said that she's been visiting this place a few times already and wanted to talk to each and every patient she can in her limited time. You've spent your birthday celebration with these patients Jackie, that alone is insurmountable and selfless of you. Happy birthday and hope you make more people happy!

Oh before I forget, she's still in the works of a new project. I hope they get to pair her with Dion Ignacio. He's a good guy I know. You would really look good together on screen and I hope GMA Artist Center makes this happen! :)
