YLONA GARCIA Does “Don’t Go Changing” Under 88rising

Wednesday, September 15, 2021

I've seen her in the country and all I thought of while hearing her sing is that, she's severely underrated. She deserves an international audience and she's about to get it. Sydney based Ylona Garcia just released her single "Don't Go Changing" under American music company 88rising. This song was produced by Jonas Jeberg (who also did songs for Panic! At the Disco, Demi Lovato, The Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez) and Marcus Lomax (who did songs for Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, Miley Cyrus0. Listening to it this evening had me put myself in a trance with a late night chill song. The lyrics though tell a story on how to grieve and showcase the different stages of letting go, something that hopeless romantics, people who fall in love intensely could easily relate with.

This is part of 88rising's efforts to bring artists from the East to West and it will be part of Head In The Clouds III which will be their third installment. Ylona says "This song simply embraces the truth in life's many mysteries. It talks about tough love." HITC3 by the way will be out on digital stores come first quarter of 2022. The video is directed by Louis Browne who also did work for artists like Jack Newsome, Ellie Goulding (whom I love in ehterial dance tracks!) and Rich Brian. The video (which is on YouTube already) shows a more mature, sultry side of her. Done quite nice, I could see how she's going places with this attempt.

I guess Ylona is going to be destined for an international career, and by the looks of it... she's doing quite good! Congratulations girl, you're going to be BIG!

Ylona Garcia Outs New Single "ALL THAT"

Monday, May 24, 2021

Oooh this is interesting! Now I have seen her perform live, on TV, and even got to talk to her a couple of times during events. Ylona Garcia comes off as a very smart, intelligent, passionate lady. She's destined for greatness and hearing her new single "ALL THAT" this afternoon just made me shake my head a bit why she isn't in Hollywood or some other place greater because she's dang good in what she's doing now.

ALL THAT reminds us of the horrible things we had in 2020, and why it's okay to actually leave those things behind. Picking up what's left of us and do more things, we're due for good, better things and we should be doing things towards that goal, NOW.

This is officially her debut single under PARADISE RISING, which is  a sister label of 88rising which is formed with their partnership with Globe. Under them, Ylona wishes to expand more of her music to a global audience. From the looks of it, they're not going to disappoint people because it honestly sounds so good. No wonder why she's gotten Gold a few years ago (when she was only 18). Paradise Rising is also focused on bringing Filipino talent on a global scale. She's perfect for this!

She says "This song is a good reminder that you should be kinder and have a better your relationship with yourself. It gets you to have better relationships with people around you. You would need to leave all the toxicity behind, then start anew. It's how you could commit and find that new you!" and I totally agree.

To know more where this is heading, go check out PARADISE RISING on Facebook, IG and Twitter. They're good, and they're going places! Congrats Ylona!

Star Music Launches "My Name Is Ylona Garcia"

Wednesday, September 07, 2016

She started singing when she was a kid and now that she's a teenager, a superstar at that, she's ready to get you fall in love with her music and this is her debut album called "My Name Is Ylona Garcia".

"I wanna go to L.A., but I don't realy have much to ask for. I like Sarah Geronimo and her songs but these songs on the album are chosen to fit me, different tempo, some band like, it's like a full arrangement and very grand. There are a few ballads, then an alternative. I'm only 14, "grabe!". I guess it's inspirational, very much dedicated to my family and my fans. I took singing lessons, I also did front acts for other Filipino artists who came to Australia too, it's a blessing to have an album even if I'm only 14 years old." said Ylona.

"OPM is fun, different from what I listen to in Australia. I just wish that Filipino writers would just stay true to themselves and make more great ones. My favorite track is the prelude song "My Name Is Ylona Garcia" because I composed it just recently. The song Don't Say Goodbye is done as an homage of PBB because we always had to do that every time a person leaves the house or evicted. I don't really have a process, I just write what I feel and it comes out."

"Names like Marion Aunor, Nica Del Rosario, Moira Dela Torre and inspirational diva Ms. Jamie Rivera wrote the songs so we worked with Star Music and met halfway as far as arranging the songs is concerned. Bailey is somewhat involved in this, 50/50, because in creating one song you need inspiration, let's just leave it at that. Being compared to Ariana, she's her own thing and Ylona is also a different person. I've been bullied when I was a kid because of the color of my skin but you just have to be strong. I love singing Not Yo Bae because it's empowering. I would love to work with Bailey, he's like my best friend. I would want to also work with Bugoy Drilon and KZ Tandingan, sorry I'm really bad at pronouncing names, oh and Bailey of course!" she adds.

Her album is out on record bars nationwide, digital music stores worldwide and starmusic.ph!

Coca Cola Philippines Launches "Taste the Feeling" Campaign

Tuesday, January 26, 2016

It's the drink we all love, continue to love, and will love in the next millennium. This is Coca Cola Philippines and together with other countries, they're launching a new campaign called "Taste the Feeling". Now I wasn't really too keen about the premise of it because it kinda sounded weird for me to actually literally take the campaign right away. They've done it quite nicely with the previous one so I was kinda optimistic too. Lo and behold, they showed us a couple of videos from Mexico, some other South American countries and in the Philippines too. I think the overall gist of what they were trying to imply with this new one is, whatever situation we go through, a breakup, a fight, something happy, something sad, at the end of the day, we survive and celebrate life.

We Filipinos are known to have one trait unbeknownst to other countries, and that is being resilient. Despite of going through large catastrophes, tons of human struggle and natural disasters, we still smile and keep that positive vibe to survive the next day. This is why Coca Cola is celebrating US too in the "Taste the Feeling" campaign, because they see in us something that is actually good just like the rest of the countries they're in right now.

Aside from the new campaign, Coca Cola Philippines also brought to the forefront their Coca Cola Ambassadors. During the event, one of the first endorsers they've ever had in the Philippines took us to the 80's. It was Gary Valenciano, and he made us remember his music during the 80's and mixed it with the modern vibe he's doing now. We were also delightfully surprised about the new Coke Ambassadors they introduced. On stage were James Reid, Bailey Ray and Ylona Garcia, Enchong Dee, Janella Salvador, Enrique Gil and the gorgeous Liza Soberano. Hosting the show was Boys Night Out's very own Sam YG. They didn't just stand there to get acknowledged, they actually had brought out a couple of cases of Coke and gave it away to the Executives, the guests, and us the media. It was something that you can actually feel, a personal touch to make us aware that THIS is how you "Taste the Feeling". We really felt special and I think that was one of the things they wanted to send as a message.

Here are some videos we took from the event. Enjoy!

For those asking, Nadine Lustre, Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards are still part of this. You may check the video wall before the reveal that they are in the campaign. They were not available during the event because of prior commitments/projects. We understand how busy they are right?

Congratulations Coca Cola Philippines! Thanks for having us too!
