VICE GANDA, ALYSSA VALDEZ, Noli De Castro, Atom Araullo Among Recognized at Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Awards

Monday, March 25, 2024

Every year, Readers Digest Philippines has been tapping an independent survey agency where Filipinos get to vote the best of the best trusted products, services and personalities. Contrary to talks, they need not to be a subscriber of Readers Digest to vote for their favorites since they started this and yes, they are the ones who commission every year. Several of these brands, people, actually have been recognized for several years.

The methodology, the way they do the surveys are still the same. In the Philippines, the sample size is around 2000, but have 8000 individuals overall for the Asia Pacific market to do this in different regions. Being in this list just means you're trusted by Filipinos, and it is indeed important to a lot of people especially for those who look for quality, and the best in the different industries. FDCP to hold Film Ambassadors Night 2021 Online

Thursday, February 18, 2021

It's been a while since we've all gone out to the cinemas and from the looks of it, it's going to take a few more months before pandemic restriction eases, which is understandable because of the dangers of COVID19.

The industry has grown, and the Philippines has showcased a ton of films outside the country where it has met a lot of appreciation. This year, they are going to continue to do the FILM AMBASSADORS NIGHT for 2021. This is ultimately, to recognize the men and women who has done remarkable things for the Philippine film industry and FDCP will be spearheading it again this year.

According to Chairman Liza Dino "It was the last event that FDCP mounted before the pandemic last year, we didn't realize how big of an impact it would have in our sector. It's been a year, and we are still here, but we should reflect and be grateful about this. It's hard and we haven't recovered fully as we have workers who have no work, but this year, we hope this sparks hope, in an industry that has gotten accolades amidst the pandemic. This is our way of celebrating our filmmakers, to promote our stories, our cinema, to represent us in different parts of the world. While we are celebrating, we are bringing recognition to people who did so good despite the pandemic, to reflect what is important we have come together to get through hardships, we didn't expect this as an agency and we all are experiencing this. I hope in this first event, it will be an opportunity to unite and share this experience to celebrate what good things that happened in 2020 and look forward to more this 2021 to all our projects, programs and initiatives."

Among those to be recognized are Dingdong Dantes, Arjo Atayde, Lovi Poe, Elijah Canlas, Alden Richards, Allen Dizon, Cheri Gil, Alfred Vargas, Angel Aquino, Ronwaldo Martin, Ruby Ruiz, Isabel Sandoval, Louise Abuel and Cristine Reyes. There will be more!

Award Winning Documentaries will also be honored

Part of those who will be recognized during the award night are two very talented teams under GMA News and Public Affairs, BRIGADA and Atom Araullo Specials which have been praised in other countries and won Bronz and Silver awards for their documentaries about Aetas and the other about poor people selling their babies online. We got updates about the cases via chat as Ms. Kara and her team responded to our questions there too. Their real clamor is to have these be acted upon by the government and have them be given what is due them since they have fought during World War II.

"From Kara Patria David to Everyone:  04:47 PM

nilapit na po sa PVAO yung case but the authorities claim na hindi raw maestablish ang idenitities nila
they are still trying to appeal their case
thank you for the question. i try to help my case studies in any way i can. i have a scholarship foundation for poor filipino children. pero sadly kulang pa rin ang dami pang kailangan tulungan
salamat Film Development Council of the Phils for this honor"

"From James Dalusung to Everyone:  04:44 PM

dagdagan ko lang po yung sinabi ni Ms. Kara, kailangan po mag produce ng mga aetas ng mga id's to claim. since wala po kahit birth certificate ang karamihan sa kanila, up to now wala pa rin silang nakukuhang benepisyo."

Here's part of that talk we had earlier

The Film Ambassadors Night 2021 will be held online on the FDCP channel. This is their 5th installment and the nice thing is, a lot of actors have won worldwide. Hopefully, you would get to know these films and recognize why they won and brought prestige for the country. This is also done to coincide national arts month of NCCA. Bamboo, Tres Marias, Bituin Escalante, several crooners and artists will be there for honorees. This is a good way of recognizing film makers especially those who have excelled in the international arena. Award winners, embassies from other countries will be there and it would be a good venue to learn more about the film industry even for artists, directors who would like to excel in the craft. Visit fdcpchannel.ph to know more about this or to watch the actual awards night.

Atom Araullo, Joyce Pring and Richard Heydarian for STAND FOR TRUTH

Friday, April 05, 2019

April 15 is going to be a little different. Next gen reporters will do STAND FOR TRUTH , all for 15 weeks. It is a program produced by GMA News and Public Affairs, funded by Youtube. They are an Innovation Fund Recepient.

This is promising as Richard Heydarian, Atom Araullo, Joyce Pring will be at the helm of the show. Field reporters include real young blood millennials, even Gen Z personalities namely Bhea Jeem Docyogen who is a proud Igorot and radio disc jockey from Baguio, Anthony Esguerra a smart reporter and fellow in New Media and Journalism at Ball State University, Indiana, USA, Asmarie Labao a former forester and DENR Information Officer from Marawi, Ardo Miravalles a Certified Public Account specializing in media and entertainment, Darwin Quirino a Communications Officer for Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of Middle East and African Affairs, Manal Sugadol, a licensed English teacher and a former administrative assistant from Cotabato, Larize Lee a Filipino-Chinese and former GMA Artist Center Public Relations Executive, the youngest of which is 17yo Eduard Faraon who is a Senior High School campus journalist and Jerald Uy a former TV reporter, Road Safety Advocate and vlogger. These guys and gals are just starting, so stay tuned as they unfurl their work on GMA’s online properties.

Atom says “They have undergone training with stellar names in journalism even people behind the camera to make these stories. It was a very strong field, 150 submissions and we had to pick 10 from it. They are young but not naive reporters and I can’t want to see them evolve. I would say it would be a waste of talent if we do not maximize the story telling talent of these reporters and journalists. The platform becomes bigger and bigger, it is not just for this organization. Anyone can upload content but there are lots of potential. The format is evolving, we want it to be fresh and different from television, visual but it is a daily show.”

Richard Heydarian adds “I was inspired when they pitched this to me, I got to know these people, I am a teacher by heart and these guys and gals are the cream of the crop. We are now talking about how to make this a team, to make this a gold standard for the region. We have a tough battle, but very confident in the team, we can sync productions so we could get more. We do not want this to be seasonal, these things can work, we hope this goes beyond what we are doing today.”

Joyce Pring says “Right now I am trying to manage my time, from Unang Hirit to events, to hosting in the evening then Unang Hirit again (sometimes sleeps in the car), but I have personal block-offs for time for family and since I am covering music I’ll be in Saguijo one day and the Balloon Festival this afternoon. It is going to be my content, I get to talk to the people behind the bands and events I have to cover. It is not a set of tasks because this is ever evolving, we have a lot of stories to tell. We have youtube as partners, so the reach will be massive.”

The show starts this Monday on GMA News and Public Affairs online channels (GMA’s website and GMA’s Youtube channel) on April 15 at 8PM. You should watch it if you want to Stand for Truth.

Atom Araullo, Gabbi Garcia and Joseph Morong for One GMA

Tuesday, January 02, 2018

If you haven’t been seeing them lately online, then you’re missing a LOT. One GMA just launched three shows set to premiere today and will show every Monday thereafter. These are three online shows that will show exclusively on the GMA Network Facebook page, their Youtube channel and their assets. It stars your favorite Atom Araullo, Gabbi Garcia and Joseph Morong.

Atom Araullo says “Adulting is practicality. It’s about the years when we get bigger responsibilities. How to find a job, how to foster relationships, how to deal with money, in the hope we could figure out things together. I have already made 3 episodes, the first one is moving out, the second is about being friendzoned, the third is what to do when it’s petsa de peligro. It’s about 8-9 minutes, depending on the topic. It’s based on our experience, adults and young adults, it’s online because we want to see people comment and react. We would also like to see anecdotes, from the very serious to the very mundane, it’s a lot, a mix of things not to belittle the tasks we do everyday. Our job requires us to be active online, not to spout wisdom every time but balance it with stuff that matters. These three programs on GMA Network’s Facebook account and Youtube channel, make sure you catch it every Monday at 5PM.”

Gabbi Garcia wants connecting with people and curious about current events accessible online. She mentions “Hashtag Goals with Gabbi Garcia is about make up tutorials, fashion tips, travel, love for the sea and everything that teen girls would do. I get to speak uo my mind and be like Gabbi, not as an artist but a person. For the first one it’s make up tips, very personal tips, so millenials could relate.”

Joseph Morong on the other hand will do Fact or Fake. He’s happy to see that in this show they would be able to verify stories, tell it like a journalist should. He adds “It will be fast paced and witty, we shot our first episode two days ago. We all know fake news, we will define it, we will schedule things as told in this way because millenials have no time. Fake news are lies masking itself as news, it’s a difficult task to attack this but we will bring examples that will separate journalism from it as it is entirely different. We have elections in 2019 and I’m sure it will happen again.”
The online show will premier today, January 2 at 5PM and will show every Monday thereafter. They will be alternating and have banked a couple episodes already. So if you want to see what they have in store for you, like the GMA Network page and subscribe to the GMA Network Youtube channel.

D60 KREW with ATOM ARAULLO and ME LOL!

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

It was a day of great photos, rain, great walk, then rain, then poses, then rain. It was rainy but I think it was okay and GREAT since it was for KALYE. Yeah! It was ATOM ARAULLO himself who went with us on a short photowalk. It's what we do on a normal Saturday but I guess that was just like 10% of a real photowalk since they were filming everything. It was great, it was exciting because after 20 years or less, I'm going to see myself on TV again hehehe.

Well it wasn't that... it was being with photographers who like street. Those who love Photo journalism. I am still finding my niche in this field but see where I already got myself into, shooting streets with Atom Araullo and KALYE. Thanks to my co D60KREW member Michael Olino who was a researcher for that show. I guess he pulled some strings and had us as a part of the story, it was good though.. I needed the media mileage LOL!

So those were the things that kept me busy these week, yeah I know my alexa rank dropped because of that and now I have to re populate my site again to make things better hehe. But it was well worth it, I love the show and I love how it turned out. For those of you who missed it CLICK HERE so you can visit Vangie's site, they recorded it while it was shown on TV. As for me? Here...

Hi MOM I'm on TV!!! hahahahahhaha!

KALYE on Monday September 14, 2009

Friday, September 11, 2009

It was awesome, the shoot that I was anticipating the whole week happened this Saturday and will be shown this Monday in Manila. My photography group the D60KREW will be featured in this episode because of what we have been doing in street photography. I know I need to learn more about it but to think about it, I have been doing quite good these past few weeks on street. Even if I was concentrating on fashion and glamor photography since I started... I must have improved a little since I am convincingly taking a closer step on subjects not unlike before.

It's not as close as I want to be but there is something more advantageous using a zoom camera instead, because you would not be too close with the subject you can catch them on their natural surrounding. Not only that, I was able to join a group who had passion in this field. This is a plus only that we got featured on local television, I love that part though!

So make sure you watch it! Peace!

Atom Araullo with D60KREW Photowalk

Tomorrow morning the KREW will be also doing a story with Atom Araullo, yes ladies and gentlemen he's the one you watched when you were growin up during the 5 and UP days. I've got work this Tuesday so I'm kinda still contemplating what to do tomorrow. I'm out at 6AM so I would probably be going home first and get some sleep. Wake up at around 11AM so I get to meet them around lunch.

The theme of the shoot is to show beauty even in the midst of poverty. This will be street photography so obviously I would need to get close with the subjects. I haven't been doing that for the longest time and I don't really have the guts to do so. Good thing I just bought a zoom lens heheh. Now I am sniping subjects without me bothering them.

Photobucket

See? I think it would be nicer since it is candid. I kinda like what it looks like. I hope I won't get tired tomorrow =)
