A Real Life Bagman

Wednesday, August 17, 2022

T
his is a cloak piece we heard from AM radio station DZXL a few days ago will surely be talked about this month.

Apparently there exists administration officials working under "you know who" that are a big time bag men. One of them has the duty of depositing huge sums of money to different banks, while the other talks directly to different businessmen, government officials, and individuals to collect money for his boss. They also make sure that it comes timely in the bank account of another high official.

These negotiations according to their source have happened in June/July of this year when talks about their share of the loot broke down on succeeding messages. These were supposed to be for funding projects for the poor but turns out, it's going to someone else's pockets. That's just sad no?!

Text message samples were also read on air and details of hundreds of millions worth of pesos were spilled. This bag man talked about was just for a single government official, someone that wouldn't be easily caught as he is connected with other local government officials, and with these happening in times of crisis, a pandemic, and a monstrous inflation, it just leaves us dumbfounded how thick faced they have become after that election.

And this certainly implies that there's so much more about this story.

The Launch of CAL the Brand

Monday, December 21, 2020

Stepping out of the shadows of proud mom Dimples Romana and dad Boyet Ahmee is daughter Callie as she now embarks on launching a new business venture called CAL THE BRAND.

She's only 17, and yes, she initially had challenges taking this idea off since she had to source materials for it. She built, learned the ropes and did this from the ground up. She burned the midnight oil learning about the business and started quite early with her fascination of Rattan bags. She ultimately wanted to support local artisans who mostly made these pieces by hand. She now wants these to reach a younger audience, who like her, would have love for aesthetic that is same as hers, which is all locally made and sourced.

As a person who has been working in fashion shows, photography stints who has probably seen lots of these, I could say what she's getting out in the market is SUPER nice. Sans her age, maturity, she sees things quite clearly curating each piece from local artisans. I am very impressed about how she was able to put this up in such a short time too.

Callie says "A few years from now, I hope to see more people with products from Cal. I want to see them wearing and using them proudly because they know how good it is, and how it is made proudly local. I hope Cal would make more individuals be inclined to support local artisans and promote them more here and abroad!"

She adds "Thank you for taking time out and joining me in supporting local brands, I hope this influences people and the communities that are being helped, from fashion items, furniture, to support our local artisans. Thank you!"

Here's our talk yesterday

There's a lot to see in her Instagram account where you can also order the items. She's planning a few things after this particular launch, like clothing, furniture, some things she's going to be proudly coming out real soon. Take a breather and look at how good the items are in her store here https://www.instagram.com/calthebrand as CAL The Brand starts their journey.

McJim Announces Newest Endorser Anton Del Rosario

Saturday, March 29, 2014

One of the most reputable brands of leather goods and accessories McJim finally came out and announced their latest endorser Mr. Anton Del Rosario of the Philippine Azkals. This American born Filipino football player has continually inspiring sports lovers and their fans to be the best they can be no matter what field or endeavor they choose. Having been able to play for the national team for years, he says it's but an honor to have been chosen to represent the brand. His good looks, great body and classy exterior  no matter what events I found him in makes him even KUMAGCOW approved. He's a little soft spoken but very well dressed. I guess that part is a no brainer for McJim.

Anton also tried out the products himself. He was expecting nothing spectacular since it's a local brand. Knowing how some unscrupulous manufacturers in the Philippines work he probably thought it was okay to expect less. The belts alone made him think otherwise. He couldn't believe how much care and attention to detail was put into each of these pieces. McJim presented him with stylish, great quality leather goods that is world class. It's something very surprising to have in the local market, good thing I already know that because I've been using McJim for years now.

The quality and design of their new products were also seen by my compatriots. It all looks so good from where I was. I still have my McJim bag, belt and wallet around my artillery. It still works no matter how formal or casual I need to be. They've got this guy Anton Del Rosario to prove more how the brand can encompass any age group and any style. Rugged, classy or athletic, you can count on McJim to get you whatever stylish leather accessory that is.

That is good vibes.

Take Care When You Travel

Saturday, November 16, 2013

Being out of town and having so many adventures is just bliss. That's why so many look forward to it. If they see the word vacation on their calendar it just makes it more rewarding. Ultimately, crossing out all the numbers in between and achieving that moment to etch in memory with friends and family. Traveling though is quite a burden. The craziness of thinking how to fit everything in your luggage is like a huge puzzle, not to mention expensive too when you go over baggage limits. It's a science they say, but there's a million ways to really do it. Who wouldn't want to have their own Custom Flight Cases at this day and age? If musical instruments, speakers, amplifiers and entertainment systems are part of your cargo, wouldn't that be neat?

The less you worry about the high ticket items you have with you, the more fun you'll have enjoying your tour. A scratch, dent or damage would make your property lose its value in an instant. Even if you get that fixed, nothing beats something that is still in mint condition. The protection you get from having these sturdy boxes would not just make your trip pleasant, but you'll have peace of mind. That's even way better than just sticking it into a bag and getting it damaged... then regret it later on. It's a pretty tough lesson to learn when it'll cost you thousands of dollars right?
