Tivoli Royale Country Club Marks 1st Anniversary: Recognizes People on Founders Night

Saturday, May 27, 2023

This evening was quite nice as I ventured to a little known place called Tivoli Royale Country Club in Quezon City. It's a couple minutes drive at the back of Ever in Commonwealth. It's a haven especially for those who like sports since it houses facilities that cater to that; amidst a backdrop of fancy neighborhoods, gotti looking pool, and indoor amenities that could rival the best ones in the country.

Today marks their 1st anniversary, and to celebrate that, they held a Founders Night. Tivoli Royale Country Club just welcomed 405 new members during the occasion held at their badminton gym this evening, May 26th. They have spruced up the place and now bares indoor and outdoor facilities where families of club members can enjoy life's pleasures all in the same grounds. The same venue can also double as pickleball, volleyball and tennis courts so imagine the things you can experience as a member, to your friends and family as well.

Aside from the members, executives, VIP's and celebrities graced the occasion, and yes, they started the celebration with the fun antics and comedy of famed comedian Wacky Kiray.

Wacky Kiray also made sure there's some semblance of audience participation. He invited a couple of folks to a game where they would sing, dance, and enjoy his brand of comedy to the delight of the audience. It was fun especially when he had to go to different areas where bald guys were, asking if he was his twin.

Tivoli Royale also has also brought out the guns with really good cuisine from their prime restaurant Royale Lounge. I must say, I've dined twice in different events in this place and the food they served has always been divine.

Tivoli's Executive Chef Emmanuel Jonnel Roxas made sure the quality of food they serve is top notch, and everyone behind the success of Tivoli Royal Country Club be served with the best out of their kitchen.

Tivoli Royale Country Club also recognized their most loyal members, their very industrious employees and those who have spent years with them. We all saw how proud their peers are especially those who come from their own departments.

I'd like to take this bit to congratulate the men and women behind TIVOLI ROYALY COUNTRY CLUB and the successful mounting of this event. You deserve the awards you got during this Founders Night. If you would like to inquire about membership or like to schedule a visit, please head on to their official site tivoliroyalecountryclub.com or their social channels facebook.com/officialtivoliroyalecountryclub or instagram.com/tivoliroyalecountryclub__.

81st Oktoberfest at the Solaire Tent

Wednesday, September 04, 2019

Had another wonderful taste of Oktoberfest once again at the Solaire Tent in Parañaque City this morning. This is officially their 81st year of doing this and yes, it's just becoming bigger and bigger.

The German Club Manila happily shared how they have been able to break records in the number of crowds and liters of beer, German sausages consumed every year and 2019 should be no different. This year they are doing it in three days on October 17, 18 and 19. It is expected to be full so make sure you wear those lederhosen trousers and fancy dirndls because this is the authentic one, it comes with a full Bavarian band called Bavarian Sound Express (OMG I miss the 99 Luft Balloons medley)!

The desserts like the classic strudel and Kaiserschmarnn have to be noted because it just was heavenly with the cream and vanilla ice cream.

I heard they are prepping about 4-5 liters of Weihenstephan per person so there won't be shortchanging on the beer supply. You can book tickets via Oktoberfest.ph and purchase them online.

The event was graced by the current German Club President Tobias Rast, Solaire VP for F&B Knit Becker and VP for Culinary Michael Dinges. The first photo above was the yearly dance we had to do before the start of festivities, it's a great way to break the ice and celebrate Oktoberfest like how the Bavarians do.

Call the German Club via 8942899 or 8184236 because this is going to be the biggest authentic German Oktoberfest in Manila, and you wouldn't want to miss this for the world! They will also have separate raffle draws including trips to Europe. Not even joking!

Raise your glass and say Prost!

You’re About To See Avara Yacht Club

Friday, November 23, 2018

I was supposed to cover this event but I prioritized my family first, a pretty good excuse. Though I can’t wait to tell you guys about this new Avara Yacht Club which sits at the majestic shores of Taytay in Palawan. Just recently, it has been launched by Seaside Realty Corporation.

I have been here years ago and a lot has definitely changed. It was quite untouched, undeveloped but had lots of potential, especially how the locals treated us, whom were all were welcoming albeit being strangers in their town. The developer plans to put this to good use and create several townships fronting blue skies and turquoise waters. If you’ve always dreamed of your own beach house, this would gladly fit your criteria especially when you plan to stay away from cityscapes while you’re not shying away from all the comforts of it. Plus, this is a legitimate Yacht Club, and Avara Nature and Yacht Club wants you to experience all the luxuries that come with it.

At the Grand Hyatt Manila their President and CEO Ms. Veronica C. Young says “After months of searching, scouring the seas,  we have just found the perfect island. We want this to be our first project. Avara Nature and Yacht Club will connect the middle class to a lifestyle beyond their dreams. This is Seaside Premier Development Corporation’s premier project, we want you to feel how nature would meet luxury at the heart of Calauag Bay in Taytay, Palawan.

Avara wil also be very nature friendly, it will be fitted with solar panels, a recycling water system, a gym, golf course, a tennis court, an infinity pool. This community is targeted to open during Summer of 2020.
Backed by a very respectable board of advisors, these harbor front properties will surely be a good jump off point for any sailor. Go visit avaraisland.com for more details and follow their social media channels @avaraisland on IG, Twitter and FB, just search for it!

The LOLA Movie BOOK CLUB Shows On Theaters Today

Wednesday, May 30, 2018

I like this movie, how their lives individually are flawed but it's not that depressing, it's light and fun. If you think they're old and wouldn't connect at all with the story, you're mistaken. This needs to be watched.

You see, truth be told, they are way over comfortable age. Hand them a book with Christian Gray and all hell breaks loose. I like how they got us hooked with their personalities first, then their story. It kinda gets revealed as the movie goes on and you wouldn't mind if they end up divulging what ordinary people like you and me would only say inside our head, whilst they do it comfortably because wine happened. You'll also be hopeful, in one way or another that every cast member would end up happy - and perhaps they did.

Now go to your favorite cinemas (SM is an easy choice) and watch Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, Diane Keaton and Mary Steenburgen do this different kind of book club for you. It's friendship, love, relationships done in a few hours. You'll smile, even cry, or touched at times.

Hope that someone out there is still waiting, destined for us, no matter what age we may be.

Quaker Oats Overnight Breakfast Club

Wednesday, May 31, 2017

Having the time of my life at the Quaker Oats Overnight Breakfast Club together with other bloggers and influencers from Manila. I already had breakfast but that wouldn't stop me from enjoying one thing that Filipinos have loved over the years, that's Quaker Oats, am I right?

I still remember the days my Mom cooks this before I go t school, or on days that I had to workout and have breakfast first just by adding water (no joke!). I'm sure we all have our stories because it's part of our lives. You may have bought other brands from other countries, but you can't just compare the whole oats which tastes so good anytime of the day!

At the event they had us make the most important meal of the day, that's breakfast! This is some sort of a life hack as they prepare meals for the morning while preparing it ahead of time, like at night. After all it kicks off the metabolism, a thing that healthy families should do. Quaker has base oats, rolled oats, or the oat dairy drink and cereal drinks or just their cookies. Instant, quick cook and rolled oats are for different cooking processes but overall, they are all very high in fiber that aids in digestion and gives you energy for your activities all throughout the day!

You can start by putting in a mason jar half cup of Quaker Rolled Oats, sliced bananas and strawberries, some walnuts, some milk, seal it off and put it on the fridge overnight. That's what you can have for breakfast in the morning. Some even add protein bars, honey, other fruits, or just customize everything so you don't have to skip breakfast. You don't have to prepare the whole day because even if you are busy, you can do this just like Wil Dasovich, Patty, Lauren Young. You just basically doing raw and activating it by soaking it overnight. You get it soaked and you will know everything that you put in your mouth. You can find these in your groceries, local markets, all real stuff. It will thicken up, be creamy, you can check how to do it in OvernightOats.com.

Wil Dasovich did a version with Mangoes. He likes it more as he likes his fruits in the morning, he adds low fat yogurt, honey, pour in the milk, and chia seeds. He loves anything that has got Omega 3 in them so you can substitute if you have something healthier, I think it's more of texture.

Then we had our breakfast, a good one at that. There are always different things you can do with it, just work around your lifestyle and make it convenient. To become a member of The Quaker Overnight Brekfast Club, you don't need to be fancy shmancy, just make one and tag QuakerOatsph on IG and you'll get the chance to win prizes from Quaker Oats Philippines too!

Isn't it a good day to have breakfast? :)

The Directors Club at SM Cinemas

Monday, May 22, 2017

Had a lovely time spent with friends at The Directors Club in SM Mall of Asia. I didn't know the place exists and find it's perfect for small screenings. It seats about 30 people, and they serve tons of food and drinks which would go well with the movie. SM Lifestyle and Entertainment recently held a promo for fans of their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/smlifestyleentertainment/ and their Twitter handle @SM_Cinema for deserving people and got them tickets to see Pirates of the Carribean Salazars Revenge. Thing is, we got to watch it ahead of everyone else. So if you're lucky, and you also follow their Facebook page and Twitter account, then you could be some of the winners too.

The food was awesome, I mean who doesn't like freshly popped pop corn and those lovely burgers that SM Cinemas have? They're actually cheap but really filling. I also enjoyed the reclining seats since The Directors Club have Lazy Boys for every patron. It was like watching a show in your own living room, with a super wide screen of course and air conditioning. Plus a simple buzz would get people rushing with service, have your popcorn and soda ready in minutes while you watch the movie. Experience it yourself at the 2nd Floor of the Mall of Asia's main building.

At least you don't have a lot of people and heads in your way, it's more intimate and perhaps a good place to watch with your friends and family.

Say "Ein Prost!" At The 78th Oktoberfest At Sofitel Manila

Tuesday, September 13, 2016

Gentlemen from The German Club Philippines and GM of Sofitel Manila Mr. Adam Laker (in suit).

There's no party when you're alone, but when you party with about 200 people merrymaking on top of tables and chairs with tons of food and beer, that's what you call OKTOBERFEST!

The German Club is celebrating their 78th Oktoberfest in Sofitel Manila and the most authentic one at that. In Munich, at 12 PM of the first Saturday of October, they start a ceremonial toast and they give the first pint to the Prime Minister of Bavaria. They did it too in Sofitel to start the ceremonies.

Sofitel's GM Adam Laker promises Germans and Filipinos will enjoy a full Bavarian Menu, tons of Sausages and Pork Knuckles, the best Saurkraut and each year it gets better. Different games, parties, it's also the people that gets this a larger crowd each year. No leather pants required but of course it's optional!

I even joined a game with contestants from the German community and press people, I won. I won last 2014 and didn't join 2015 (because I was too shy LOL), but it's good I got this one in the bag!
Fellow bloggers, writers from Manila's best magazines and influencers are all in attendance. I was already tipsy at this time from chugging a whole liter of beer for the Philippines haha!
This year's OKTOBERFEST will happen at Sofitel Manila's Harbor Tent on October 7 and 8! This is their 78th Year which only shows this has been a LONG tradition. You may book your tickets via email at reservations@germanclub.ph. You can also call (02) 894 2899. I assure you, this is one of the best parties, a legit Oktoberfest at that. Dance, drink all evening, enjoy the best Bavarian dishes, sausages, pretzels and the company of Germans who chose to work and live here in Manila and say EIN PROSIT!

To end this post, let me share my blogger friend Azrael's video of the event featuring me in the Beer Drinking Contest! Hahah don't judge!
