Gogoro Philippines Launch New Experience Store in Makati

Tuesday, November 07, 2023

It's a nice morning to celebrate new things as Gogoro Philippines just launched their new Gogoro Experience Store at the Greenbelt 3 in Makati City. The event was held at Ayala Museum with executives coming from the Ayala Corporation, Globe, GCash, 917 Ventures, Gogoro Taiwan, Gogoro Philippines, the Taiwanese Embassy in Manila and various stakeholders were in attendance to take a first glimpse of what will be launched and supposed to be sold next month. This is quite nice that they thought of making sure you experience riding, looking at the actual Electronic Vehicle first before they release it to the market.

Bernie Llamzon the President and CEO of GOGOGRO Philippines "It's a testament to urban mobility. Why are we opening the experience center? It's all about connection, and who stands to benefit from it, YOU. It's a bridge, we are opening our doors today so you can touch, feel and understand Gogoro. We are cultivating a community and it is an invitation for you to become part of the story. Your engagement and feedback will be part of our commercial launch next month. Welcome to the future of mobility, welcome to the new Gogoro Experience Center."

This is one of Ayala's projects in order to move to electric vehicles. Cesar Consing the CEO and President of the Ayala Corporation says "We do it across our companies, and this initiative of going green is something we take seriously. Gogoro is just an extension of that, we are going to lead the charge to EV's. That's what we are doing here, and this partnership of Gogoro and Globe, brought this EV brand in the Philippines. It's green, ecosystem and partnership that we are offering. We hope you like what you'll see."

Horace Luke the founder and CEO of Gogoro says "I've dreamed of this in 2011, we are now extending to outside Taiwan. Thank you to Ernest Cu of Globe who believes in me, and we know the world is going to two wheel and three wheel vehicles now. Thank you to the Gogoro Philippines team and the Taiwan team who worked tirelessly these past few years to bring this product to the PH. The electricity is sustainable, and recyclable parts are being used to make the footprint lower. We look forward to see what we built enable this vision in this country."

Ernest Cu the CEO of Globe says "When I saw this in Taiwan years ago, it was super nice. I didn't like bikes back then, EV was also too far from the Philippines. We timed our entry to the country, like GCash, no one was solving the problem and we only scaled it 6 years ago. The smartphone penetration was not as good, and when the pandemic hit we began working on it even more to become financially inclusive. Majority of Filipinos don't have plugs, the one minute swap is like prepaid... And we are the prepaid kings in the country. Now it is all paid electronically through GCash. It's different, and seamless now as it goes through the backbone of Globe and it's partners. Let us see the new Gogoro Experience Center, we want this to be perfect and hope you become our first customer."

You may also ask for a test drive as arrangements can be made, they also will explain to you the battery swapping mechanics so you could conveniently do it via their Gogoro Network power stations. The Smartscooters we saw on display was the Gogoro SuperSport, Gogoro VIVA and the Gogoro S1. Though they will make sure that the Gogoro 2 Premium and the Gogoro Delight will also be available in the Philippines.

You may visit the new Gogoro Experience Store at the 2nd level of Greenbelt 3, turn right when you enter through the bridge from Landmark (location of former Globe store).

Electropop Artist LESHA Drops Album "SUN MOON RISING!" on August 6th

Tuesday, August 03, 2021

The universe is conspiring and she's out with a new album, she's Lesha and taking the Philippines and the world by storm. She's an electropop artist and producer who's worked hard for her dreams, and now, it's a reality!

This August 6, her album "SUN MOON RISING" will be out with the first track with the same title dropping on this date. This is a huge difference from the time when she was just experimenting with her music via apps and vocals which she uploaded on Soundcloud. Slowly, she started doing remixes of popular songs and did several covers on YouTube. This opened up a lot of opportunities later on which got her to meet international producers of whome are now good friends, and is involved with her album Sun Moon Rising!

Lesha says "I'm self taught in music production, I also shoot and edit my own music videos. Those scenes you see on my channel are mostly shot in my own home and I got help from my family. I took Marketing Management in college and learned social media management because I needed to learn the ropes. I didn't want to be taken advantage. I am just so proud of this album that got me to work with producers and artists from UK, US, South Korea, Spain, Bahrain and Italy. I worked on this really hard and I'm very proud of what we have accomplished!"

Lesha's album SUN MOON RISING is under Star Music and will be released this coming August 6 on Spotify and other streaming platforms. You can also check out Lesha's YouTube channel (search Lesha) and her website leshaofficial.com for more information about her music.

Big 40% Off on Anker products for Shopee's 9.9 Sale

Thursday, September 03, 2020

Seeing Anker on Shopee lately and yes I've had a few of their powerbanks, phone cables and plugs previously which saved me countless times in press events and coverages. I usually work with an iPhone so it drains a lot of power when I edit, use social media apps and do live blogs. I'm kinda known writing about events as it happens, and yeah I finish articles sometimes even way before the event ends.

There is a sale happening this 9.9 in Shopee and so I checked out a couple of things in their official store inside the app. After all, Anker has my trust when it comes to electronic devices and accessories, so a little rummaging around their shop wouldn't hurt!

Official Anker Philippines Shop

PowerCore Metro Slim 10000

https://shopee.ph/product/7516924/7346247845?smtt=0.0.9

Anker Eufy Cam Kit 1080p Wire-Free Security AI

Anker PowerConf Bluetooth Speakerphone

https://shopee.ph/product/7516924/5446246541?smtt=0.0.9

Their PowerCore Metro Slim is a 10,000mAh powerbank which can probably last you a whole day for multiple devices. I used to bring two powerbanks previously but with its large capacity it can simply solve those issues. I even did lend some friends my powerbank and they returned it to me still working. Best of all, this thing is very slim, pretty portable that it fits in your pocket so you can just grab it and go. It also does high speed charging, has anti slip fabric on it and trickle charging mode for those low battery moments you often have.

The Anker Eufy Cam Kit 1080p Wire-Free Security AI Camera on the other hand has a 365 day battery capacity. It can also do 1080p Full HD video day and night plus 16GB micro SD card and talk real time. That would be great for accepting packages and mail, especially these days when we all do deliveries. For the Anker PowerConf Bluetooth Speakerphone, it's got a 360 degree voice pickup for conferences, auto voice enhancement if needed and can last 24 hours wirelessly because of its 6700mAh battery. I guess they've all taken the battery game a long way since I've gotten my first Anker, not surprised though.

There will be big things happening on Shopee's biggest ever 9.9 Sale. Make sure you download it off Google Play or iOS because you don't want to miss  this and save tons of money in the process. Start here.

Trick is to keep everything ready in the cart and once those vouchers come out just head on to checkout fast! That's not a secret anymore!

Smart Cooking with Samsung Home Appliances

Friday, April 10, 2015

We went to Chef Ernest Reynoso Galang's Gala Stars Culinary School in Pasig City to take a few lessons so we could use some of Samsung's modern ovens and state of the art refrigerators to whip up a couple of recipes during the event. I cook a little, but am yet to fully utilize my Samsung oven and this was something that they think could get us a little acquainted with the appliance and got a few bloggers in the mix to make the  activity a little competitive. This time we we're not cooking our best recipes but doing everything by the book. Instead of frying we could use the modern oven to air fry, aside from that, we could use the Samsung Refrigerators to keep the ingredients fresh and frozen at some point.

The executives from Samsung Home Appliances and Chef Ernest gave us small talk about how we can maximize the use of the appliances. They also told us not to worry about cooking that afternoon because it's going to be easy.

When we arrived they already did the "mise en place" so we barely prepared everything and just had to put things together. The school mostly does this on their classes I think. When we started to cook it was awesome to have the instructions on paper at that time, that made it easier for us to understand. They also got the "finished product" in front so we could see how it'll all turn out.

The appliances were kinda huge because they're more industrial, fit for the school's function. Still, I could definitely see how this will all look like when the appliances are at home. It'll definitely help a lot.

After pounding the Chicken Breast (to flatten), we had it butterflied and inserted slices of Spam (original flavor) and a couple strips of cheese. You just roll them up, put them in F.E.B., that's Flour, Egg and Bread Crumbs (specifically in that order) and put them in the fridge so they could hold their form. Then, you just deep fry them or bake, it depends on your preference but it'll be crispier with oil. It'll be way healthier if you put it on the oven though.

It was meaty, spicy and cheesy, just the way I liked it. I put in a sprinkle of dried herbs on mine like basil, pepper and cayenne so it would be different from the others who made the same dish. It was absolutely, insanely delicious! Of course, I made it! :P

We also made pasta with only a few ingredients. It's sauce was just made by Basil, Garlic and Tomato. I had my serving with tons of Parmesan cheese whilst the one for show had fried basil leaves on top. It was simple, yet very filling. It could even pass for date food if I were cooking for someone special, but you can always cook for yourself and make it your comfort food. I know I do.

Life became so easy with the Samsung Ovens and Refrigerator. I still have my fridge at home and it's so efficient, we've had it for years. I also have the Samsung Oven but I'm still learning to use it. You can cook too if you had the right products in your kitchen, all it takes is the right ones from Samsung so you can get started with your own culinary journey. That's smart cooking!

Wonderful Smart Things From Philips this 2015

Wednesday, December 03, 2014

Philips, the world's number 1 brand in lighting showcased their best products in the market in time for Christmas season. They believe so much in innovation and has been going all throughout the country in order to get people see what can make their lives easier.

Philips LED lights have been so good in my home. I use it for most of my rooms and plan to also change the old school long fluorescent lamps when they go kaput. The thing is, you only need basic lighting in bathrooms and bedrooms. Having different ones would likely result to higher consumption of electricity, which is not a joke in the Philippines where we go second to Japan in rates. We are also in some sort of energy crisis and saving in that part would be beneficial to the greater populace right?

Speaking of which, new technologies in cooking like this Philips Induction Cooker gives us something to think about in kitchen appliances. It's totally going to save you a ton compared to those that have heating elements which layer costs you an arm and a leg in electricity. Best of all, it peaks so fast you don't have to wait that much if you're cooking something. It's safer too because it requires no gas and you can touch the thing without getting burned.

Philips also has things for ladies. I like their hair irons and hair blowers, which is essential for people like us who need to be presentable at work. :)

Their AVANT line has pretty good pacifiers, breast pumps that would take care of our babies and infant needs.

I also saw this Baby Monitor that's got audio and video cam capabilities. Put this in your kid's bed and you can vouch for his safety, whilst keeping an eye on him.

For the kitchen, you'll love the air fryer so you don't have to use oil anymore for those fried food you always love. Less fat, less cholesterol and guilt. I also spotted a Soya Processor which makes milk in a couple of minutes. The Juicer also is a great companion to those who want to eat and drink something real. They're also on sale in stores nationwide, like 60 percent, still thinking? I don't think so. :)

Ms. Fabia Tettero Bueno of Philips Lighting Philippines says "We have been working hard to reduce consumers energy bills. We also are bringing fancy decorative solutions that are energy efficient and also help decorate houses. We are pushing for LED's because it has continued to be one of our most important contributions in the market. We want to know what its impact is in the community, we can think through together with our partners much like the the Dragon Bridge in Da Nong, Vietnam. We are also helping areas in the Philippines which have no lights at all. We are helping them to have grid independence and have greener communities. Helping them to save energy."

Mr. RJ Buenaventura of Philips Consumer Lifestyle adds "We are a sector that takes care of health and well being. Philips has been associated with high end brands but we are gearing to show smart solutions. We are going to more categories like shavers for men, hair curling irons, domestic appliances like juicers, soya processor and we are hoping to have more solutions for the market as we get more urbanized. We are bringing these in the next few months and it all sounds super exciting for 2015."

Malone Guevarra of Philips Healthcare announced that "Philips has lots of milestones these year. We made important partnerships with DOH and it has resulted in 10CT Scans, 18 Mobile C-Arms (so they can operate in remote areas). Philips also partnered with National Academy of Science and Technology to play an important role in Research and Development in Non Communicable Diseases. PLDT also worked with us by getting access to clinical information anytime, anywhere. We also have been pushing for iDose which gives less radiation exposure but more quality images. Philips will also be providing radiology equipment for the Philippine Orthopedic Center as part of their modernization. We would like to expand our reach, a universal healthcare program that will be accessible to all. We will also be promoting mobile and remote technologies so we will play an important role in the Philippine healthcare system pursuant to our advocacy, to provide meaningful solutions to its stakeholders, that's you!"

It's so easy to trust a company that has done a remarkable job this 2014, thanks Philips! I'm looking forward to see more of your great products next year!

Chef Rosebud and Cheska Kramer Shares Tips On How To Save

Saturday, September 13, 2014

I wrote about Electrolux a couple weeks ago about how to save electricity while washing clothes as part of the Electrolux Save & Share Blog Series. It's a campaign vent to have wives and people at home to save money and precious time by making household chores simple and carefree. We also got to interview their advocates Chef Rosebud Benitez and Cheska Garcia Kramer to help us and share their thoughts on saving.

You see, my Sister always had a hard time paying for electricity bills at home. The love we have for her always tells us to help her when she needs it. Our water bill looks a wee bit high too than the usual amount we pay for these past few months. This just means we have to take arrangements in using electricity and water at home. We asked how Chef Rosebud Benitez and Cheska Garcia Kramer about how they do it in their homes and this is what they've got to say.

We often use appliances at home,  sometimes we have a choice and sometimes we don't. How do we save on electricity? How do we save on water? How do we make sure that our utility bills won't spike up?

Chef Rosebud says "We've recently changed all our lights to LED to save on electricity and we make sure that we remove the plug of all appliances not in use. We also just had barrels installed that act as a rain saver to cut down on our water bill."

Cheska on the other hand says "I have a baby and my kids and they always use air conditioning. I’m not so strict with that. Although at night, I really do my rounds. I make sure all the lights are off, all the faucets are closed properly, there are no leaks, at the same time I do the washing of the clothes and ironing of the clothes on schedule. With that, we are able to monitor our electricity and water bill. I’m not the type of Mom that save utilities if it's for my kids. If they need air conditioning, I allow them to.Doug is the one who chooses our appliances but he always consults with me. In our family, we really practice him to be the head of the family. Big decision making and stuff like that, Doug is the one who does the research and at the same time, he will consult me. He’ll tell me “Hey honey, this is what we need to buy” then we’ll think about it.

Although he makes the big decisions, he also relies on my opinion. So when it comes to buying appliances, we always try to look for one that has the energy saving factor. So from our aircons to our refrigerator, because the refrigerator consumes more electricity right? - it has to be an energy saver. This goes the same for our washing machine. So we do really save a lot with our appliances because we consider that before purchasing anything."

It can be a challenging task to save when you have so many things to spend for at home. Why do you think is it important to save? Can you share tips on how people can do this?

For Chef Rosebud, it's quite easy. She says "It's very important to start saving for the rainy days. First thing one needs to do is to list down one's income and expenses, the essentials and non-essentials. Once you are clear about all the essential payments to be made, the next step you need to take is to manage all your expenses in an effective manner."

Cheska advises couples and says "Well for one, we cannot tell what the future holds, right. So that’s why my husband and I, we are really a team. We make decisions together and both our opinions matter so when it comes to saving, we are realistic also with our expenses. We are honest enough to say the exact time for us to buy, or it’s not time for us to be spending. So what we do is we make sure that, of course we have our monthly expenses and then we also set aside for our investment. So when we have enough money, we have the business. We put in in that business of ours and make sure that we are also able to save there to make our business grow. So the money for our business is only for our business. So whatever money that business makes, it only goes back to the business so that it will grow. We also invest in insurances for our children, for their education and health and that also goes for Doug and I. We also get our insurances, we also spoke to a financial planner and through our financial planner, they were able to see what we can set aside from our money so that we can be able to invest in our future and in our children’s future. So hand in hand, Doug and I talk about how else can we save, how else can we make sure that our children’s future is secured. We want Kendra, Scarlet, and Gavin’s future to be secured. So we’re very realistic with our spending. We’re very open to telling each other when time to spend and when it’s not. So that’s when our budget comes in. ‘Coz basically when you’re a married couple, you already know what your budget is. Like in one month, let’s say you probably need a sure amount of P20,000. On top of that, you have to know when to divide it, if it goes to our business or to our investment.

Both have to be realistic and both have to be open or honest to each other when it’s time to spend and not."

I think I can relate much more with Cheska because my Sister doesn't have savings or thought about investments. I think she lacks control over spending and doesn't even prioritize an exact amount when the time comes that they'd have to pay for utilities. She also decides with the people she loves and makes it a point to have specific budgets run on a monthly basis and still have more just for financial stability and freedom. Not to undermine Chef Rosebuds way, she gave us really cool ideas especially on itemizing and listing down expenses versus what we earn because that is as important as any other plan if we want to succeed and save on little things like utility. Those little things over time actually can be a big amount. It goes to show that it is achievable and possible to do it in a Philippine setting. I guess the next thing to do is talk to a financial planner and see how my Sister would be able to save and invest her hard earned money.

Wash Clothes and Save More with Electrolux Appliances

Tuesday, September 02, 2014

It's one of the not so liked chores that I would want to do. Washing clothes can be really tough for me especially when we all started with hand washing. These days, men can only think of one thing to buy their wives something to make things easier and sure enough, like in any home we just want a tough washing machine that can do the job. That's where Electrolux in the Philippines comes in. They used to go house to house with their men but today, you can easily find them in malls and stores when you need them, where you need them.

They now make heavy duty washing machines that does everything automatic. Something smart enough that these washer and dryers have their own Load Sensor which lets you know the amount of detergent and water to use when you put it in. It's well designed button system also lets you know what particular time to use for certain fabrics and what temperature to use as well. It also uses Vapour Action in one of its settings to get the ironing job later on easy. It shouldn't be hard for anyone to use without even looking at the manual. The Electrolux Stainwand top load type of washing machine on the other hand uses a retractable ultrasonic wand and T-Drive technology to easily get rid of those hard to remove stains each time you spin the clothes and make an effort when it's time to wash them. It smells fresh and you save energy by using the hardware efficiently with the only needed water and detergent no matter how big or small your load is. After all, smart people use smart appliances right?

Make sure you do the deed when choosing your companion in the hardest chores in your home. The last thing you would want to have is a laughable white elephant in your home that's not much use for the rest of your family. Take a moment and see what Electrolux can see in your home and it might be the greatest decision you'll have for a long time. That's the greatness that only Electrolux fabric care appliances. You know how it works, test it out on stores and see the difference, capisce?!
