Foundations Address Hunger, Sanitation Needs in Eruption Stricken Areas

Monday, August 12, 2024

There is still prevalent hunger in the country and we have to address it. Aside from that, there is a deep concern about sanitation especially when the uneventful things happen. Recently, BingoPlus Foundation took initiative in bringing in over a thousand groceries, food packs and sanitation kits for evacuees in Negros Occidental because of the eruption of Mount Kanlaon. This was done with local government officials of La Castellana and the Nikki Cares Foundation.

This was in support of the First lady's "Lab for All" medical program where BingoPlus Foundation organized volunteers and logistics in a medical mission for a little over 8000 indigents in the region. They also did this for those in General Santos City, giving 500 folks needed flu vaccines specifically in Purok Mapailubon, plus necessary sanitation facilities to be utilized by different barangays in the area.

They also launched and funded a Dressmaking Training Center for residents of San Isidro, together with their government partners TESDA and DOLE. This is through their KabuhayanPLUS livelihood program which has several projects across the country. This is part of their Barangay Bigayan initiatives which addresses community issues whether it is for service, health and infrastructure needs. They are also moving to put in something for emergency preparedness rather than just doing post disaster responses. This is why DigiPlus President Andy Tsui wants to do in every emergency they have to go to. This is their vision for BingoPlus Foundation which he heads.

Entertainment and Emergency App JUANETWORX Launched!

Friday, July 22, 2022

It was a fun and festive afternoon as we celebrated the launch of emergency rapid response app JUANETWORX. It was set at the historical Club Filipino in Greenhills San Juan and everyone was clad in terno and barong tagalog, which fits the apps reason for existing, to entertain and help Filipinos wherever you are and whenever.  Imagine a button which when you press, starts a process to act on your emergency til it gets resolved, something OFW's can benefit from especially if they're working outside the country.

Film Producer and app stalwart and head Ms. Edith Fider says "We started in production with the help of Father Suarez. His prophecies all came true, with the help of the right people, the right experts, JUANETWORX was built. We want to help Filipinos here and abroad, and this digital entertainment hub is an app that can do that. I am not alone in this project but it’s been a journey. I am proud of what we have accomplished, all for the love of Juan. When you are here, you are a friend, this is for all of us!"

Mr. Tony Adriano explains "Thank you to Edith for including me in Juanetworx. If you don’t know, 8.9 percent of our GDP is brought by OFW’s who are the intended users of this app. Now there is a system of it being an entertainment hub and a place to help OFW’s when they need it the most. Juanetworx started with Father Fernando Suarez, proven healer, and we are continuing his ministry. He is continuing his miracle through intercessions, and champions every Juan. This is for the underprivileged, with our efforts and our church base, this will help more people in and outside the country, especially the poor. We appreciate your support, and thank you!"

Celebrities like Joaquin Domagoso, Arnel Ignacio, Manila Vice Mayor Yul Servo were also there to join the festivities!

Shows like Ang Katiwala, Dyesibilbil, Doc Willie Ong, The Sari Sari Show, Ed Caluag, The Soulful Kitchen Diva, Ang Huling Burlesk Queen, Pung! (A horror show), Erotixa (with Christian Bables and Ali Forbes), and more shows will be seen at the Juanetworx app. For as low as Php 100 membership fee (follow instructions on the site), you gain access to their library of shows, films, documentaries and service. You can download the app via juanetworx.com (via downloadable apk file).

Soon, they say there will be Korean Dramas, concerts, collaboration with international and local content creators so folks remain entertained while using it. Surely, they are trailblazers in safety and thought about members on how they won't be just remaining as an emergency notice app, but something they could use the whole day. Peace of mind, that is priceless!

Abizo OFW App: Peace of Mind for OFW's and Their Families This Christmas

Monday, December 20, 2021

Overseas Filipino Workers have been dubbed as the new heroes. Back in 2020, their remittances have amounted to 9.66 percent of the country's GDP which is worth over 33.2 billion dollars. It's a huge chunk and they deserve good news, so here's the ABIZO OFW app which is backed by the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency.

As you know, employment abroad doesn't always mean greener pastures, rainbows and butterflies. Your family at home and your government worries for OFW's safety, this app solves a lot of that and give you peace of mind. The ABIZO OFW app provides real time updates of your activities in other countries. Through this app, they look after your welfare, and give you the option to tell them where you are when you arrive in the host country. This mobile app platform is convenient, takes a few steps to register and would ease the mind of your families back home. The app also has a button for emergencies, so in case you encounter any difficulties with your employment, they can go and give you needed help.

This would prove useful especially in the Middle East, the US, Europe, or elsewhere in the world. If you need help from the government, this would be your first line of defense and prevent physical, emotional abuse if it occurs at your place of work.

To make things even better, they have published a few videos in the app that will make you remember Christmas in the Philippines, and how the app would work in real life! They actually have a few of these episodes out including Episode 2: Kamusta Ka Na Ate? It will certainly pull heartstrings, because these are short stories everyone can relate from, especially if you have loved ones abroad who work tirelessly for their family back home.

If you want to see the videos, like the link above and their Facebook page, or subscribe to their YouTube channel at ABIZO OFW. Aside from that, you can download the ABIZO OFW app on Google Play or the App Store. Make sure you do before you leave the country, it's better to be prepared especially if you're going out there to improve the lives of your family.

Insular Life Launches Total ProtectER

Sunday, August 23, 2020

Having peace of mind has always been a good thing. These days, we've seen so much of how insurance would have been beneficial for people. The large hospital bills, could really cripple ones economic status and being ready for that can't come at a more opportune time than now. Recently, Insular Life's HMO subsidiary InLife Health Care just launched Total ProtectER. It's a plan that includes a six month term Life Insurance, daily hospital income for 6 months, one time emergency care health plan, HMO coverage and daily hospital benefits all in one!

This means that the emergency care element will be covering COVID19 care on an ex gratia basis until December 31, 2020. This entails Php 500,000 life insurance for death due to natural/accidental causes, Php 3,000 daily hospitalization income for 15 days if confinement is under 4 days due to accidental injury or sickness (15-90 days total hospitalization) within that 6 month coverage period. Chief Distribution Officer Raoul Littaua says "I hope our countrymen would take advantage of this while it is available, especially at a time like this as we are under a pandemic "

Currently, this is available in two packages from Php 11,750 and the other is Php 12,450 where the difference is emergency care in Manila's top 6 hospitals. This is only available for people ages 18 to 64. You may check the details at shop.insularhealthcare.com.ph because it's all there!

Don't Worry, SMART and SUN Cellular is Ready!

Saturday, December 06, 2014

Hey Sun and Smart subscribers! This is good news for you! They know you're a little worried about cellphone and Internet services this weekend because of Typhoon Hagupit/Ruby which is said to arrive for landfall this Saturday. This post is to let you know that you don't have to worry too much because they are ready in case there would be problems maintaining communication services when it strikes close to home this weekend. They have plans already in place to make sure they would be able to quickly respond should there be need to restore facilities if they get affected. The equipment and personnel are on standby in case areas like North and Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao get beaten up by the Super Typhoon. You must make sure though to charge your batteries so you won't run out of juice when the time comes. Smart and Sun will also be putting up generator sets, batteries so your cell sites won't go off all of a sudden. They'll also be having free call and charging services in strategic locations nationwide. Rest assured, Smart and Sun will be at their best to respond to your needs when the time comes.

Tips:

1.) Make sure to charge your batteries, your emergency equipment and your powerbanks. It might take around 3 days before the typhoon passes, so make sure we have enough juice to last that long.

2.) Conserve your batteries. Don't use data or calls unless you really need it. Text messages consume less power. That's a better alternative.

3.) Store important numbers on your phone, like hospitals, firefighters, your local barangay and NDCC. Include a hard copy in case you run out of batteries.

4.) If you can, get transistor radios. Know where the nearest evacuation areas are in your neighborhood so if your house gets in danger, you know where to go.

5.) Keep dry. Not all gadgets don't work under water, wrap it up with cling wrap and make sure you have clean dry clothes as well.

6.) Pray. Nothing is impossible. We would all be safe if you pray hard :)

Thanks to our friends from Smart and Sun for taking time to inform us of the state of communication structures. I feel safe and relieved now that my Smart line will work when I need it most.

Breathe it all in!

Friday, May 07, 2010

Emergency response has been a very important issue these past few weeks. New York has been a victim of terrorist attacks over the weekend and a Palestinian born operative was the culprit. He got in the country through a student visa but it seems he went there for a different reason. I know he has been arrested too. When will this stop?! We'll never know; but I am quite optimistic that if we are ready for any untoward incident to happen then we have resolved it halfway. Breathing is important as with any living thing would say. For emergencies and non emergency situations MSA and Moldex has been known to manufacture great respirators. I have seen a full-face respirator used in operations that need highly technical breathing apparatuses. If a place has been entered and tear gas was used by police, they can breathe easily with it. Terrorists, criminals and people who continue to break the law like parole violators would be no match with counter terrorist actions like this. There are also other options like the cartridge respirator that can be of some protection in parts of the face and it's easy to carry around too. This would be better for daytime operations. I would rather use full-face respirators though so I can protect my eyes better in case I or anyone in my family faces danger. The need to breathe is not optional and it is a necessity to live. If we come prepared in any problems in the future, being ready will win half the battle. Breathe that in; then breathe out!
