Abhorred, Avoided and Unpopular: Affordable Divorce in the Philippines by KATE COSETENG

Tuesday, April 15, 2025

Admitting the causes she's supporting as "Unpopular", Quezon City 3rd District Councilor Kate Coseteng is not about to let down what she sees as necessary for women in the Philippines. She is the first representative of Kababaihan PartyList which aims to be the voice of women in congress to enact laws that would benefit the public. Their Second Nominee Ria Romualdo is a registered nurse, and has sternly supported their causes in childrens health and welfare, based in Mindanao.

Kate is no stranger in creating laws as she's been a Quezon City Councilor for 3 terms, has done the same in Valenzuela City. She pushed for the creation of Quezon City University, dialysis centers, PWD concerns, and benefits for solo parents (something she is pretty well known for). She uttered unpopular because these are certain things that people don't accept, especially matters that concern divorce. She lengthily discussed this with us because of the things that women go through.

If set in an abusive marriage, it may also be physical, emotional and economical. She's optimistic it will get passed if it doesn't contain certain conditions such as "irreconcilable differences" as it is too broad to define and be accepted by lawmakers. I saw how practical she was and deal it without emotions, much like business and a numbers game rather than having just a feisty disposition. She focusing on going into it with pride, curiosity, knowledge that the causes are important. If you don't know, it is extremely expensive to get an annulment in the Philippines and it is extremely an anti poor legislation. The plan is, to have divorce be afforded by folks of any stature. She mentioned it being paid for as much as 5,000 pesos, all in. This could definitely be a game changer for a lot of women who couldn't afford the annulment process if they are abused.

The KABABAIHAN PartyList is also very aware of current issues, and would want to address working conditions for women who work at odd hours. Call Center agents, BPO, Nurses, Bartenders, Security Guards, and the likes, they feel should have a place to safely leave their kids while they are working to make a living. They want a Night Care Center to do this to also be a place for refuge for women who are victims of abuse, to also have them train for livelihood and business, also get legal and psychological help if needed. They also want to help create laws that would provide micro finance so women could put up small businesses to provide for their families. This includes financial literacy, for obvious reasons. They also want to push for reforms regarding the LGBTQIA+ sector, to provide a more general view of the equality they've been longing for. Something that they want to do with reforms, even if it means they would have to start from scratch.

Kate says "If you see the things we have on our platform are severely unpopular. It's a bit heavy to digest, but these are legitimate issues in our society. For example divorce, since we are a very Catholic nation, it's super difficult to pass laws like it. We already have passed a version in congress, but it met its demise in the senate. This goes the same with the SOGIE Bill that has already spent 24 years since its inception. Senator Miriam Santiago first did this in the early 2000's, and when asked what I could help with their cause, they answered just "respect", so we made efforts to make it less polarizing when it is sent to the Senate. This would be more like an anti discrimination act that would be applicable for all including the LGBTQIA+ community. Baby steps, we can't just promise platforms and not have progress."

Here's her talk if you want a more detailed understanding of it:

Unpopular, yes, but it feels so necessary for a LOT of people. It was super nice to hear all these from her and how passionate she wants it all to happen. Women remains a sector that is heavily under represented to this day. I know so many folks who would greatly benefit from the laws she mentioned especially with divorce for abused women.

Do you agree with her?

PUREGOLD Cinepanalo Film Festival Showcased Good Short Films

Sunday, March 23, 2025

It's the weekend and after the really fun Puregold Cinepanalo Film Festival Awards Night, we took time to watch the student short films this Sunday afternoon before they end screenings.

Short films are, short. If you couldn't get your point or story across, I would feel it would fail, I think the few ones I saw were actually good. Super happy about how Puregold Cinepanalo Film Festival became a great platform for regional film makers to showcase what they can do despite the odds. I didn't even need to read the subtitles in order to understand them.

Dito, Dati was about memories. They had a short film made on VHS recorded tapes but in the end they lost it all. Then they reminisced where it all happened, how it happened. It played on family ties, filial love and what lengths you would go for them.

Ritche Films Production on the other hand offered Sine Sine, a short film about friends in the Bicolano dialect. A supposed date plan was about to go into shambles because the local movie house called Obet's Sine Sine was closing down. It was cute, mostly about puppy love. When the plan to watch a movie didn't pan out, they made their own film. Obet's Sine Sine was back in business, and the date continued. It made the folks inside the cinema giggle. No wonder this won awards. Their soundtrack was fun and catchy too.

Daog/Pildi was another regional short film. In Cebuano, they get to tell the adventures they had in arcade gaming (a thing I adore). It was old school, had a little cute and romantic story line.

SAMPIE was eye candy. It's a coming of age film that had elements of a cartoon (in 2D) about a mermaid, a gay one. It's also about family  and the little joys of life. It is also about acceptance. Pretty good short film, no wonder it won awards too.

"Our One and Only Baboy" was about an elderly couple, one stricken with cancer but chose to give up and just enjoy his vices. The lone pig was opted to be sold for money, for his medical needs and finances... But they treated it like their child (they didn't have kids). His wife was not so keen in doing it. The film has flaws, the panning shots made me dizzy, but it was certainly a touching film. It's about dreams, the idea of true happiness, love and what matters most.

If you can catch the other films today, go do it. Or maybe wait for a future release in platforms, because from the looks of it, they've got a lot of people out there that would really appreciate it.

Thanks to Puregold who's doing this annually, the ones who made it possible to showcase regional films in actual cinemas. I loved the shorts!

Celebrating Women's Month with Mary Rose Marbil: A Story of Love, Compassion, Family and Service

Monday, March 03, 2025

She was all smiles when she went in. Donned in a white crisp top, hair tucked back and a presence I couldn't put to words. She has this presence signifying power, poise, posture that make known strictness. But once she uttered words, it felt like we were welcomed home, like no strangers... getting a warm hug.

She's the beautiful Ms. Mary Rose Marbil, loving wife to PNP Chief Rommel Francisco Marbil and caring mother to recently engaged Robyn Marie Marbil. She's also the PNP OLC Foundation, Inc. (previously Officer's Ladies Club) Adviser, an honor she doesn't treat as an obligation, but an opportunity to help through charitable causes, now geared to help PNP Personnel and their families. This is also something that she is passionate about.

Photo from the PNP OLC Foundation, Inc. Facebook Page

This strong disposition must have come from somewhere, so I asked about who she gets the inspiration from. She immediately answered her Mom. She says "The woman who made a big impact is my Mom. Not just because she is my Mom, but because of how she is, and how she handled things. She's always objective about things. When we got married, we stayed with her for 3 years. She didn't want me to stay in PSG quarters because there would be a lot of chismis there. It might have been difficult to have 2 queens in one castle, but it wasn't with her. If there are conflicts, she never asked why, but just be present and be there for me. Even with the siblings, she's the most level headed. That's my Mom."

With the PNP OLC Foundation, Inc., she was involved in spearheading their ongoing project called LAB Virus (which they coined from Love and Blessings). She usually goes with the PNP Chief in various locations in the country but didn't participate much in efforts. With the project, she was able to start helping PNP personnel and their beneficiaries. With the foundation, she didn't have to wait for a regional visit to help people. It also rarely happens, and this was able to put them in a more pro-active state.

The foundation sought help from health services to identify over 500 individuals that are critically ill. This was a huge number, even the Chief PNP was surprised. Much of them were suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease and needs lengthy dialysis treatments in their respective regions. They provided them needed financial assistance that would help for medical bills and for their daily spend.

While it was a huge help, they wanted their actions to also be more sustainable. One of the regional leaders in Cebu was teaching life skills in making soap. It's a business they could easily teach PNP personnel and their beneficiaries, so they could fend for themselves, and put food on the table after getting help from the PNP OLC Foundation, Inc. Very soon, they will also be teaching and giving away business kits to street sweepers in Camp Crame. They are excited to do this in Manila/Laguna too.

Here's our interview with Ms. Mary Rose a few days ago:

Spreading love with every touch, the PNP OLC Foundation, Inc. is continuously going around regions including BARMM. With help from private individuals who signified support through their organization, they would be able to lend a hand to more people especially PNP personnel and their families.

Recently, they also had a concert with singing PNP personnel to raise funds for the foundation. They also get help from individuals, other foundations (and the public) so they could come to the aid of more people in times of need. Her experience in the corporate world has helped her organize a structured operation to cater the underprivileged. They now have officers that will be able to continue efforts and ensure it would be addressed after her term. This is such a selfless and noble task, but she finds insurmountable fulfillment doing this.

Her message to women out there, "There's always something you can do. You're not just a wife, let's not limit ourselves to what people think you can do. We are limitless, especially as women. It shouldn't be a hindrance, I even think there's more power in that. We have our charm, use it to move and make things happen. With our talents, we can use it for the welfare of the people around us. Do what you need to do!" Her story of love, compassion, her family and the service the foundation does for others is so inspiring.

Thank you for sharing your time Ms. Rose, it was certainly a pleasure getting to know you!

Give The Gift with Meaningful Connections: Globe AT HOME 5G WiFi

Wednesday, December 18, 2024

The holidays are here and if you haven't thought about what to give to that special someone and or family, I think I've got the coolest gadget you could set your eyes on especially if you're into meaningful connections.

Globe AT HOME 5G WiFi was just recently launched in the country. If you're looking for internet connection with 5G speeds, this certainly would be something you would love to have when family or friends are not around. Sending messages, hearing their voice, or simply seeing them on video would certainly make you happy, and distance between you feel quite shorter. The new Globe AT HOME 5G WiFi modems is different because it's got a display showing your signal strength, smart support which you would be able to do if trouble happens. It doesn't need wires to connect to it, and being wireless is so convenient for guests, visitors, students and even family. It looks so modern too, and it'll fit right in on your house's interiors if you are a little conscious about design. I know, sometimes gadgets take a lot of space and become an eyesore, but this modem is slim and quite nice looking.

Easy Connections

If you're the type that always entertain a lot of guests in the house, you can have the WiFi connection shared just by showing them a QR code directly from the LCD screen of the modem. You need not blurt out your passwords to strangers, so you have control over your network. Best thing about it is that Globe is so confident about it that are offering this for a week risk free, so if you're not satisfied with how it performs (with the 5G WiFi), you can return it and get a refund (in good condition of course!). They are also in a very giving mood so during the holidays they have a Php 899 rate for 250GB which you can use for 30 days.

According to the Vice President and Head of Brand Management for Globe AT HOME Ms. Abigail Cardino, this is designed for customers varying needs and their lifestyle. If you are at work or simply doing things at home, you can use the new 5G WiFi Modem for work and play. You can avail of it via globe.com.ph, make the holidays become an event where you don't have to worry about internet connection,  but just the meaningful connections you have with your loved ones. Wouldn't you want that for the holidays?!

Duty, Honor, Country For A Changed Man: ARIEL QUERUBIN

Thursday, May 23, 2024

To tell you honestly, the moment I heard the name Ariel Querubin, I was bit afraid... really afraid. My memories of him constituted an event during then President Corazon Aquino's time where TV cameras zoomed in on him amongst RAM SFP YOU soldiers at a hotel in Makati. When asked, he bid this as a time when he was so angry. This was so different from the man I saw a few days ago, an opportune time to talk to him as a changed man, definitely.

A native of Dagupan, Pangasinan, he's now the most decorated soldier in the country. If you try and see his accomplishments as an officer of the Philippine Marine Corps (also from PMA), it will include the biggest kidnapping and armed groups, rebels, organizations, terrorist groups (CPP NPA, MNLF, MILF, Abu Sayyaf, name it), whom all feared HIM on the battle grounds. He has received the coveted MEDAL of VALOR, the highest military award for courage, which shows how much dedication he's given to this country of ours. He even had the battle scars from ammunition and shrapnel to prove it.

He says "I'm thankful I got to meet you all, I'm Colonel Ariel Querubin. I am so fortunate to have been awarded 49 combat medals and other awards. I'm a soldier who have been able to battle with almost all the armed groups. They say this Ariel Querubin is a tough one. A person who stood up for peace, order, and a clean government. I have served without being involved in corruption. We stand on our principles, also for those who are less fortunate. We do not condone fraud, criminals, or those who abuse power."

This man is disciplined, can still workout, tougher than your muscled athlete at the gym. He's also experienced bouts with danger, but he knows he still has a mission. If God and the people permit, he wants to serve and is ready for it. He adds "I can leave my comfort zone for a higher calling."

He's been through a lot, but treats this opportunity to be a good one. He has been incarcerated in the past, and this has made him realize that his career as a military man isn't everything in life. He treats his time there as a quick jolt so he could come to his senses and become closer to his family. He knew then that all his awards would fail in comparison to his accomplishments as a father to his 7 children. One precious award he received was for an "Ulirang Ama", it has meant a lot for him.

His family stood by him. (photo courtesy of Ariel Querubin FB page)

In the past, he always had his thoughts with his soldiers, but now see the value of the same family waiting at home, worried about his life every time he goes out for a mission. He also feared he would have to answer to the countless families of these soldiers, but didn't know it was the same for him during those years. He found his wife standing up for their family, standing up for him. She took the punches, and he saw how the media also kept the fire burning for him at a time when politicians and other individuals were attacking him.

After being transferred to 5 difference facilities, they always saw how he smiled and fight for his family. He had the heart, and would want to do the same as a changed man today.

Out there in the field, he believed things couldn't be settled with words. But now, it's a way to talk, for the economy to progress, and see the importance of his experience as an actual warrior, more reasons to listen to him. He is a peace advocate, and deem life important. War is expensive, and is not a solution if the root cause is not addressed. Insurgency for him will only persist if there is no good governance. The Armed Forces has done remarkably well, and hope other agencies follow suit.

When you see him, he's now a force for positive change, even in the communities in the BaSulTa area. Introducing livelihood programs, a parcel of land where they could grow crops and earn a living, this sparked change for them and he hopes you see how he could do the same for you too. Here's our interview with him a few days ago:

His duty to his family, his indelible honor, and hope for the country is etched in his heart. His name is Ariel Querubin. Thank you for the opportunity to get to know you Sir! *Salute*

Alfred Vargas Shares Struggles and Fitness Journey

Sunday, July 23, 2023

It must have been so hard for Alfred Vargas to have gained weight over time especially with, causing him to have lower self esteem and depression. As an actor, he was always seen being that guy who had over and beyond machismo, huge muscles when he was still making movies back in the day. He admitted this on one of the videos on his YouTube channel. The councilor for the 5th District of Quezon City admits "It was something that I didn't know I would go through, but in one morning, when I looked in the mirror... I just said I didn't know who I was when I got to 251 lbs. It was a wake up call, people started to call me Tito when they approached me. I didn't know it was getting worse, so I decided to change and do it not for vanity or projects, but for my kids, my family, so I could live longer for them."

He adds "I've lost a lot of weight, from 251, I am now 201 lbs. It's been 3 years, I've documented my struggles as well on my YouTube channel. I decided to share a few things that made me lose weight, plus a few things like parkour with the help of Ms. Kate Robles. She's a single mom that had the same problem as me. With our coach Raven Cruz, we've started to share how we were able to do it."

The series is called "Vargas Tries, pwede? pwede!". He also gets Cong. PM Vargas in some episodes. Monday, May 15, 2023

Going to Mr. DIY in any of their branches across the Philippines has been something I'd try to resist on a regular basis. It just seems that I couldn't resist how there are always low prices for items that they have. There are tools for carpentry, home improvement, electronics, garden, summer items, toys and just about anything you need to decorate your home, Mr. DIY has it. This evening, they had us see their brand ambassadors in the presence of Charles Salecina, Roselle Andaya, Ferdie Casis and a throng of Mr. DIY's executives.

You'll Need Towels for Tears: FAMILY MATTERS this MMFF 2022

Friday, December 09, 2022

If you've been seeing trailers left and right for Metro Manila Film Festival 2022 happening this month, you probably remember this one by Cineko Productions (under Mayor Enrico Roque). It was able to touch the hearts of so many Filipinos in the trailer alone as it delved into the story of a FAMILY.

Francisco and Eleanor are in the geriatric age, and got sick, requiring much care and attention from their family, but the eldest had to go find love elsewhere. This forced the other siblings to step up the plate, but the couple chose to do things their way, butting heads as the patriarch still wants to be taken cared of by his wife Eleanor which she thankfully obliges to do so later on the film. It's played by Noel Trinidad and Ms. Liza Lorena, plus an ensemble cast which includes Nonie Buencamino, Agot Isidro, Mylene Dizon, James Blanco, Nikki Valdez, JC Santos, Ina Feleo, Ketchup Eusebio and a throng of other actors that put their trust on this MMFF 2022 entry.

Here's what happened during the press conference on video, please, enjoy!

I asked a few unconventional questions during the press conference specifically on some parents making an investment out of their children. Also, I tried to see what they think of how Filipinos make it an obligation for family to take care of them in their older years. I was impressed how Mylene Dizon answered it after stating the differences, saying the care Filipinos do come from a place of LOVE rather than it being embedded in culture overall.

It is no surprise that those who have seen the trailer already shed a tear or two as this film comes from the same people behind "Miracle at Cell #7" that won awards and box office success in previous MMFF years. Will this prove to be a sure fire formula to success this coming December 25th? You're going to see a lot of actors vying for the Best Actress role and might need to compete with Ms. Liza Lorena. The ensemble cast is also a tough act to follow since they formed a real family doing this movie.

It's going to be a very interesting awards night and you might be looking at another successful entry when you watch "Family Matters" during the MMFF 2022 days. This is Directed by Nuel Naval and written by the prolific Mel Mendoza-del Rosario. They warned us and said this time, tissues won't be enough for your tears, bring towels!

Making Memories at Club Paradise in Coron Palawan

Tuesday, August 23, 2022

Spent a few days at Coron, Palawan with my fam for a short R&R. It's been a while since I've been there and I've been ecstatic to have my family with me. We stayed at Club Paradise, it's in Dimakya Island in Coron which I've had the pleasure of going to a few years back. I saw it was fit for my senior Mom to go to so boat transfers and accommodations would be all accessible as the Discovery property arranges all of that.

I brought along the Samsung A73 5G (in Amazing White color) with me to keep memories. It's a beastly phone that takes 108MP photos that has OIS and a set of quad cameras. It's also got a Snapdragon 778G processor, fits in the hand at 6.7 inch Full HD+ with an SAMOLED screen. I was able to test the 5G connection in Manila and by any standards, VERY fast.It also takes amazing videos, but I reckon be of good quality at 4x zoom. I may have a lot of processing needs, but it bore the brunt of several video editing apps, photo editing apps and socials that I use almost everyday. I really didn't need the 4K video capability and opted to have lesser resolution so I can have more space on the phone. It's got 256GB space though, and I wasn't able to fill it all up with vacation photos in that 5 day retreat. You can opt for the 1TB microSD space as it can accommodate external memory too.

Photo quality is good, it won't make you look like you have plastic skin. I also took advantage of the zoom taking videos for a real wedding proposal that happened at the beach. The photos and videos in daytime, plus several food shots I took was crisp too. I'd be crazy if I didn't think this was something that was made for content creators.

Here's a glimpse of the trip we had plus the special dinner arranged by Club Paradise in the evening. They called it a Moonlight Dinner, perfect for special occasions or if you plan to propose to someone. Ours was for fun so they also prepared a Boodle Fight, a seafood lover's dream, even those who want surf and turf. I used a different Android phone in the beginning, see how the shots changed dramatically at the 2:08 mark. If you see the proposal video at the 6:08 mark, I was super far and hiding among the trees when I took videos. Imagine, a phone that can take videos with low light and that distance?

Here are some shots from the phone I used, I edited colors and a watermark (to keep it safe) through Photoshop. It's a lot to take, but I guess it's all worth it!

You may order a day before to make sure you've got a Boodle Fight you'll love. Just inform the staff if you'd want to make changes and they're very nice people, they can accommodate.

The Sunset Cruise (which you should also request for in advanced) was a perfect way to end the day with. This was done before we had dinner. Needless to say, they really took good care of us while we were there. I'd like to take this bit to thank the good people of Club Paradise in Palawan, we're thinking of making this an annual thing. Who knows?! I'm glad though I got memories saved. Samsung did something good with that phone. It's a tool, and you can do wonders with it!

ROCCO and MELISSA NACINO Launches MAMA LUNA

Tuesday, July 05, 2022

Meet the Nacino's, Actor Rocco and Volleybelle Melissa

I've been really looking forward seeing Rocco Nacino and his wife Melissa Gohing-Nacino all these months since they've announced that they're having a baby. Recently, they divulged it's going to be a baby boy, and have yet to choose a name and settled for a temporary one called Baby N. Rocco just finished building his dream home, and are making headway finishing the baby room in the next few weeks. He also is a bit busy with a few acting projects and shared an international one which he hopes would bear fruit soon. Aside from that, Rocco and Melissa were busy with this brand they're working on with popular Direct Selling company Orabella. It's a family line called Mama Luna.

Anne Acuna VP for External Marketing of Orabella says "This was developed with Rocco and Melissa, and is part of our Mama Luna series. They have been heavily involved in developing this product. Orabella is one of the fast growing direct selling companies in the Philippines. We made sure this new line called Mama Luna is safe for babies and children. This rejuvenates, moisturize, affordable and is easy to use. Orabella also is in the business of helping others, a brand that you can trust. We've been  producing sustainable products for the whole family."

Melissa and Rocco Nacino says "We are for family care, for mommies, for daddies, it's been hard to keep it a secret but we've gone through a lot launching this product. Thank you to GMA for setting this up especially Sparkle. We got this idea when we got pregnant, we didn't know that there are products that we're not really allowed to use. We need something that would be safe for the family. Orabella has access online and through shopping apps. We experienced that there are products out there, but they're usually too expensive, Filipinos need access to it so we worked with Orabella to make sure Filipino moms are at their best in their pregnancy."

Phytosense Conditioning Shampoo has coconut based ingredients, crecatin, helps hairfall defense, chamomile so we don't get stressed. Melissa had to use it to check the smell, texture, especially at the first trimester. Hair feels either thicker or thinner because of the hormonal changes, and this prolongs the growth of hair.

Phytosense Bath Gel - There are a lot of chemicals that are not good for pregnant women, this is part of Mama Luna line. For those who have skin that tend to dry out right after a shower, this would be good for your skin. If you have dry skin, hypersensitive, and have textural changes, this would take care of you. This has AmiSoft that's got nourishing amino acids that repairs, replenishes and boosts moisture on the skin. This would hasten skin elasticity so you don't have much stretchmarks.

Phytosense Body Lotion is safe to use for pregnant women. This has sunflower oil, vitamins A C and D, Aloe Vera Juice to prevent hyper-pigmentation, and organic Chamomile Essense to reduce redness and relieve inflammation. This is best for body acne so you get less over production of oil, clogged pores. People can now have income selling this, and it is also environmentally friendly. This is very competitive, locally made, very affordable. The wheat straw packaging is renewable, a good alternative to plastic, FDA approved, is hypoallergenic, biodegradable in 3 to 6 months, very recyclable and re-moldable.

Resellers, and dealers especially in Antipolo will be handled personally by the couple. They have partnered with Orabella for this.

Rocco mentions "We went with Orabella because of their huge online presence, we were fans of lotions for working out. We were happy customers on day 1. When they do product development, they know how to work with everyone. They are for the people, and they think out of the box. They have expertise in developing products, they are our partners. It was months of planning, lots of yes and no, nights of thinking about it. This is now a fruitful partnership."

He adds "It was very exciting for us, but I was in locked in taping. We were trying a lot before that, we went on a vacation, we were relaxed and spent time. Mel knew about it while I was away, she surprised me. I got anxious, I did overthink a lot but we talked to our OB. Being a nurse, I had difficulty talking to people. Mel is blooming, we're officially having a boy!"

Rocco and Melissa are expecting a Boy <3

Melissa says "We tested our relationship early on because we couldn't agree on the name yet. I handle pedia wards and knew what Mommies go through especially with their skin. I went out and asked what their problems were while they are pregnant. It made us stronger, I realized that he's the best partner in any business. I became a lot clingy, I really needed to see him by video calling him every time he had a locked in taping. Adjusting to not being active after being an athlete was really hard, it made me anxious. I'm  thankful that Rocco was there, he's very helpful whenever I'm sad or just at home. I cried once because I was just there, but he took me to IKEA in a wheelchair and that made me happy! Mentally I'm in information overload, but we're going to be in a class for this by the end of the month, we'll attend that physically, but we have already made arrangements online. We have the same mantra, very workaholic, but we support each other. A supportive partner is very important. When we got married, we checked a lot of things in our bucket list first. When we establish these three products, we'll be coming out with more especially the Antipolo franchise to support resellers, distributors of Orabella in our own locale. We want to be a one stop shop for families, they don't have to look anywhere else if they need product for parents."

Rocco told us "I have ventured into businesses before, with restaurants, boxing gyms, and this is our new baby. We know that Moms need these products, Orabella knew how important this is for them. I'm always for experience, and will be dedicating with Mel on this business. I'm taping for another show, this will be multi-tasked. We are preparing the Baby Room, we are watching our weight, the next few months will be busy as we wait for Baby N to come. Every time he kicks, I watch her tummy. He likes rock music and we are excited for him. She is at her third trimester, and it's just gonna be a few weeks more to see him. We have different lifestyles, Mel misses volleyball, I'll be very supportive of her. I wanted to act on things while the idea was fresh, Mel's pregnancy was really attracting brands as an influencer. This is the time to grow with our brand as a family, we saw the demand for products like these and Mel tried all of it. It passed her standards which is why we went for it. These will be accessible through Shopee and Lazada."

This is not just good news for the couple, but for every Filipino Mom, Dad and Baby who's now got choices when it comes to safe products pre and post pregnancy. It doesn't have to be expensive when you're bringing a child into this world, and if you are thinking of gifting someone, this would be a good place to start. Congratulations Rocco and Melissa on your new venture with Orabella! Can't wait to see Baby N soon!

A Realistic and Endearing Family Drama: MISIS PIGGY on iWantTFC

Tuesday, April 26, 2022

Got to watch MISIS PIGGY a few days ago. This was during the press screening which happened over the weekend. This is first and foremost a family story, albeit somewhat dysfunctional because of their separation (Marivic and Rupert played by Ms. Sylvia Sanchez and Ricky Davao), you can still feel how the love for each other surfaces when they need it.

If you were in the shoes of Lani, Steffi and Jeffrey (played by Ria Atayde, Iana Bernardez and Elijah Canlas), you would be hungry for a Father's love but have to remain understanding because your folks relationship didn't really end well. It wouldn't be a easy to balance when and where your Dad would become present if you had special occasions and this is where you'll look like you have to balance things so as not to hurt your Mom who's been with you for a long time and your Dad who just came into the picture. Ria Atayde tries to reason out as Lani but it will eventually fall on deaf ears with Marivic (her real life Mom Ms. Sylvia). I am really excited to see how their dynamics would eventually pan out as they started leaving their Mom's house after interacting with their Dad during the graduation of Jeffrey. I like the sub plots too which BL lovers would adore, plus the whole drama scenes with Lani and her Dad Rupert at the swimming pool which you should look forward to.

Ria was supported by good friends Kyle Echarri and Darren Espanto

The advanced screening only had us watch about 2 episodes and I wouldn't want to spoil things, but honestly Ms. Sylvia Sanchez is a given, but this would be a huge opportunity for Ria Atayde, Iana Bernardez and Elijah Canlas to showcase their acting prowess. The first few episodes have proven they are at par, or gave even more what the role asked for.  Go watch it on iWantTFC today because you'll be touched by the story. You can download the app now on Google Play or App Store, or just watch it on their website.

Congratulations to everyone who is a part of this series, can't wait for the next few episodes. I'm sure it'll be good!
