Congressman SAM VERZOSA Promises More Inspiring Stories on Season 3 of "Dear SV" at CNN Philippines

Friday, August 18, 2023

I've been looking forward to see Congressman Sam Verzosa who represents the indigents, of those residing in urban locations, the youth and the elderly through the party list "Tutok To Win". He's starting the third season of his public affairs show "Dear SV" shown on CNN Philippines during his birth month, and is quite excited about the plans they have for future episodes.

The show plans to put the young Congressman in immersions, to live with the actual people they plan to help. To give you an idea, they meet people from all walks of life. The goal is, to feature their inspiring stories on why they continue to make a living despite life's challenges. Cong SV says "If the old, the kids work hard doing these things, I'm sure the most able bodied ones would be inspired to do the same and help others."

Here's part of our little chat that afternoon

He treats all these as blessings and shares "My family keeps me grounded, they keep me focused on my goals, my advocacies and purpose. I have a lot on my plate, I am just lucky to have been able to do a lot of these because I believe God put me here. He gave me opportunities to be able to share these to the world, and help others,to also change lives. I am happy to see that people are also doing the same after seeing the show. From our company alone, I've seen them on the road, going out there and helping too. I want to do this for the rest of my life. I'm just maximizing what I can do for my community and also make changes in laws, I have a duty to make a movement because I know my purpose."

When asked about his stint at "Tutok To Win" a few years ago, he says "Kuya Wil actually trained me, he asked me to sit with him during one show, that's where I learned and practiced at home. Everyday is an experience, you can feel what they feel when you are there. I get to see their happiness, their sadness, hosting my own show had me ask people about their struggles and get to know them."

About his motivation, he adds "I am happy about what I'm doing, aside from doing business, I help people, I get to change lives, I've been given a platform to be able to be heard even with a wider audience. I'll try doing this to change not just communities, but bigger ones and the country. As for now, I'll do this because I found my purpose, in life you always ask that question, there are tons of people that have more work ethic and because I have the capacity to help, I'll do it."

If you want to learn more about the causes he supports and foundations he's helping, make sure to watch "Dear SV" startiing Saturday night of September, at 7:30PM. This will also be replayed on CNN Philippines the next day so make sure you catch it!

I'd like to take this bit to thank Congressman Sam Verzosa (who also Co-chairs Poverty Alleviation) for being so nice earlier. He gamely answered questions even after the presser, to say the least, it was refreshing to talk to someone albeit super successful but still remained so grounded. Again, thank you!

NADINE, BEA + More at the OPPO Inspriation Ahead Event

Friday, March 24, 2023

Super happy to see OPPO getting a little closer to lifestyle events as they held an "Inspiration Ahead" forum with speakers like stylists Pam Quinones and Daryl Chang, concert photographer to the stars Magic Liwanag, and Fashion and Style blogger David Guison. It was nice to see them share their expertise in their respective fields, but in a nutshell, it takes guts to be fashionable, it's okay to experiment, make amends with style mishaps in the past (and to just go ahead and try it).

Leanne and Naara also provided needed entertainment in the middle of festivities, music from them was really super nice, a lot of people danced during their set. I'm a fan of their music now :)

Magic says "My inspiration starts the moment I wake up, shooting different people, I learned that it depends on how you feel. Experience for me is champ! As a photographer, I'm glad my wife isn't a content creator, I get to rest, capture moments, even if it's not Hollywood or international artists, I get to share my story. OPPO really helped me become pro active, because of its functionalities, from Reno to Find, you get excited to take photos and remain inspired anywhere."

David Guison says "I don't really think bout it so much nowadays, just dark, minimalist, things that you don't tend to see much, that's what I document. Knowing what you like is your style. It's nice to see people that hype you up, it helps because you get to say hi and show your personality. "

During the evening, they had Bea Alonzo on stage and talk about her own passions. She also shared her ways on finding inspiration on everything she does. She was extremely happy to see her fans on the grounds since late lunch time. That's dedication right there!

Then to make the evening even better, I was able to take a few minutes to talk to President NADINE LUSTRE who has been in the headlines these past few weeks. But of course, we didn't talk about THAT. I had to ask how she's been, and how she feels being trusted by OPPO all these years. It's been a while since I've sat down with her, so here, enjoy!

I think this was my favorite shot that evening :)

Nadine also has stressed how she loves her RENO line of phones which she's endorsing with OPPO, and for the tons of new phones that they have come out with in recent months. These men and women do inspire a lot of people, and sharing those experiences probably would make all of us see our efforts, that it's okay to take time. Thank you for having me at the OPPO Inspiration Festival! :)

Oh by the way, more events like these and offers are being announced through the their channels so go give them a follow! Recently they priced the OPPO A96 at Php 14,999, plus some news about their folding phone would be a nice thing to get acquainted with, go see it there!

The Digital Interactive Concert of Yeng Constantino on OneMusic.PH!

Thursday, June 09, 2016

I have been able to see Yeng Constantino a few times but this one was different. She wasn't really the same. She's good don't get me wrong, but she's actually in the stage of actually reaping the benefits of her hard work. She's been through it all, even called a one hit wonder by some older artist but look at her now. She's one of the most successful singers in the country. She's also one of the finest songwriters and performers bar none.

What I find a little endearing now is that she's extremely happy about the experience to be one of the judges in "Tawag ng Tanghalan" which is a singing contest in "It's Showtime" one of the leading afternoon variety shows in the country. She also feels so accomplished to have been able to mentor Team OMG in the show "We Love OPM". These are things that she's only dreamed of in the past and life has indeed been so good to her. She can't thank the one above so much! She's celebrating a milestone in her career. This is her 10th year in the business and she's taking it to the world wide web. Something unprecedented, because she's holding a Digital Interactive Concert on the 19th of June this year - at 7:30 PM. It's something that you would be able to watch live at OneMusic.PH LIVE!

They're also selling tickets for this but it's very limited. Some can be won on the website or the Yengsters Fan pages. She's dedicating this to her family and the people who have supported her through the years. Here's what happened during the press conference at the Star Music offices:

Here's more photos from the presscon with the Director, this is hosted by our friends from OneMusic.PH!

Congratulations Yeng! Couldn't be prouder!

Inspirations: Meet the Pharmaton Life Chargers

Monday, August 18, 2014

We went to a Pharmaton event this afternoon as they selected people that would best represent themselves as Life Chargers, a new campaign specifically to bolster inspiration to people who have inspired others and make themselves inspirations too later on. Their tag line was "What inspires you?" I was asked the same question earlier so I answered quite practically and said money. Of course, there are a lot of things that should be important than that. People like the Pharmaton Life Chargers Hindy Weber Tantoco, Maxie Abad, Michelle Ressa Aventajado, Chef Rob Pengson and Anthony Suntay are truly sources of inspiration, they are also inspired by others who are driven in pursuing their goals.

Maxie Abad is a former member of the Philippine National Football Team. He's also a lawyer and manages to still teach youth who loves the sport. He mentions "I truly find inspiration from kids, it's a venue where you can see them grow up from boys to men in a snap. Finding them achieving more than you would be the proudest moment. Seeing them excel in sports even out of football is already the best "take back" you can get from them."

Everyone in the sports world knows Mr. Anthony Suntay. He's gone to every ball sport in the country and if you're not seeing him here, he's probably somewhere else in Europe, the US or elsewhere in Asia covering the biggest sports events there is. He said "I figured what else could I do when you hit a wall (talking about his stints in the Philippines), I ventured with other companies based internationally and got to cover places outside the Philippines." He advises everyone to stay dynamic, but get Pharmaton so it will get you more energy to take care of your family.

Michelle Aventajado finds opportunities to educate people whenever there is a chance. She doesn't take it personally and takes her time to explain things about special children. She also understands where they are coming from because there are challenges in education and being informed. Still, she remains inspired and continues to provide inspiration to other people. "My students and children teach me too, you can learn so much from kids."

Hindy Tantoco keeps her integrity through trials, resilience and perseverance. If she gets to still take that in her place, she's already fulfilled in making a positive change. She's okay with non organic stuff too and doesn't blind herself from those she can benefit from. She's taking it easy now and supplementing with more while staying healthy. She didn't stop with fashion but she takes her time now unlike before where she goes home so late and think about next season to stay ahead. She researched about the benefits of Pharmaton and the idea of supplementing is a good thing for her. She still is a believer in growing your own food, and staying organic. It's what she's been very busy with and the task has continued to inspire people to do the same. This is why she's part of Pharmaton's Life Chargers. It was a treat to talk to her too that afternoon, she was so nice.

Chef Rob Pengson wasn't the smartest kid but at age 19, he asked his folks to get him to study culinary arts. It was difficult, but he was challenged and got to achieve a lot because he knows this is his passion... and he said when he worked with his passion, that's where his life totally changed. They began to open a school in 2007, saying it was a gamble, but when he showed his passion to students who enrolled at that time, that's how he got the ball rolling. Now, Global Academy is one of the biggest culinary schools in the country. He's now giving chance to students to excel, even giving scholarships to deserving ones from far flung provinces as he continues to still follow his passion. He says "Stay resilient and follow your passion, work out and eat the right food. Supplement well, no matter what you eat you don't get everything and Pharmaton resolves that."

These Pharmaton Life Chargers will be continuing to inspire more people, they're as ordinary as you and me but they make their life better by sharing their passion to other people. Take Pharmaton and do the same, it'll help you understand how anyone can be an inspiration to others. I'll try that too!

Music, Education and Inspirations

Wednesday, January 11, 2012

There are some things in life that I want to achieve. Although it is pretty late to wish for it, I want to become a musician. I know for a fact that it wouldn't be achieved by merely learning from my peers or just doing exercises on paper. A few days from now I'll be interviewing one of the most prolific artist/composer the country has ever produced and I want to draw inspiration from what she did to make it to the top. If you also have some questions for her it would be really nice to leave a comment on this article and I'd personally ask her about it. I would like to also see if it would be feasible for me to get into escuelas de musica and get me a course or two. Getting educated in the most reputable schools and finishing something in this field would guarantee employment and opportunities that we would never even dream about.

Where do I start? Where do we draw inspiration from? Would it be hard for an ordinary person to penetrate a saturated music industry? What do you think is the biggest break you ever got from being in the recording industry for years? What do you think made you famous and what kept you stay there? I've got a lot of questions that remain unanswered but I'd like to have them at least be discussed with someone who already made it big. Wouldn't that be just inspiring?!

Let me know what you think! I'll wait for your comments! =)

Writing Inspirations

Thursday, August 19, 2010

I guess there are a lot of things to write about today. Actually one of them is making me smile until now (and making me inspired to start) because I haven't been giving that much attention to it lately. To tell you honestly I am overwhelmed when someone likes the bit I wrote for the small town I visited a few days ago. Its main subject was; the city and its people. When I take the time to write posts like that, it comes with the experience and the things I remember from the trip. I guess we have different ways and means of getting inspiration. The subjects at Article Alley would probably get you interested. They make free content you can probably get that writing or reading itch resolved.

If it comes to you one day and you have something in your head that wants to get out, getting your own domain might be good so you can start doing what I did six years ago. I started with a blank page like anyone else; just look at how much stuff is here now. If you want to publish your thoughts and ideas then this bit is for you. I'm telling you it's really not that hard, you just have to make sure you write from the heart. Otherwise... no one would be interested in what you are doing and brush you off. That would be the right thing to do!
