KIRAY CELIS Wins in LOVE, Launches More Products for Skin/Health Empire

I distinctly remember the times we've covered press conferences for Kiray Celis, her shows and movies. She's always the jolly one, cracking jokes almost every time we meet her, cementing her career as a formidable actress and comedienne. In recent years, she'd had remarkable success in selling products online. She was selling millions worth of products from different manufacturers and asked herself how it could have been better if she sold her own and have had all the profit herself and her team. And so, she did. She's now the proud CEO of Kiray's Brands who manufactures Hot Babe and Skin Vibe products. And yesterday launched the new Hot Babe Green collection and 2 new ones under Skin Vibe.

I personally asked her if she feels that this is her "calling", but replies that the term was too deep for her to connect with. As for success, she doesn't feel she's there yet because all of her earnings are still being invested back to the business and is positive that in the coming years, would bear fruit, but even then she wouldn't see herself doing something big as an entrepreneur. She'd laugh it off just thinking of it. 

Hot Babe Green includes the Chamomile Tea, Lemongrass Pandan, Pistachio Matcha flavors. The drinks aid in digestion, lower cholesterol, detoxifies, cleanses and support weight management. On Skin Vibe, they launched Pwetturs B|eaching Cream and the Singova B|eaching Scrub that does exfoliation, brightens skin, and evens out your complexion. Took a while to put it out because she had to have FDA approval for it. It's a hard job, but she wants to make sure if she's going to have something out in the market, it had to be safe for Filipinos to use as she's got tons of resellers who are also helping her to grow her business. She's so thankful also to her affiliates, resellers and return customers who all contributed to the remarkable success of her brand. 

Here's our talk with Kiray and the part where she also explained the viral Japan issues she addressed, she apologized for those who felt offended but be assured she got proper permits to do the shoot and Japanese folks were asking if she was a model, okay?!

KIRAY CELIS, KUYA KIM Help Globe Warn Customers of SIM REGISTRATION Deadline

Just got out of the press conference of the Globe Sim Registration ads as they announced the celebrities that are going to be in it. In previous ones, they had Gretchen Fullido, Edu Manzano, Sophie Reyes, Gillian Vicencio (Globe of Good Ambassador), among others.

For those who don't know, if you haven't registered your sim card, it will be deactivated and also cannot be used with your GCash transactions. This will be a really big problem if you are doing transactions, when you don't get to register, it will be gone forever.

Liza Reyes the Head of Globe's Media Strategies hosted the event. Ms. Yoly Crisanto, Globe's Corporate Communications Group Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer says "Thank you for being here, we are now down to 5 last days of sim registration in the country. Why are we doing a presscon? This is last ditch effort for our customers to really register your sim cards, there will be no extensions after July 25. This is important because your SIM will be deactivated when you don't register it on that date. We thank the government offices for helping us in those extensions, but we only have over 47.4 Million customers that have registered, that's about 97 percent of our active base. We are happy about the extension, especially after the turnout. We are now just after those who have not been able to register yet, those who are waiting for the last day, we don't want you to be disenfranchised. This isn't a joke, you can no longer use your phone service, otherwise, you have to buy a new sim and register that too. In our research, some of our countrymen are not aware of the deadline, we need to make everyone aware that they get to register phones, tablets, modems, all of it should be registered. We have the portal, gcash, Globe One app and a lot of other things done in the past few months containing the instructions, we also have the Globe stores available for those who want to have their sims registered. I hope this urges everyone to register now."

 

 
Then the new ambassadors from Globe who will be pushing for the registrations was also announced. They are Kiray Celis and Kuya Kim Atienza. You can go the Globe One app, or the new.globe.com.ph/simreg website to start the process. Remember, they won't be extending anymore.


Kiray Celis says "I am the real one, not the fake retouched one. If ever there will be something that would get me more height, I think that's better. I am happy that I am part of this extraordinary campaign. If someone steals your account, you won't be able to prove your identitiy because you didn't register your account. Use your student ID's if you are still a student, just use your Globe One app or the mentioned website earlier to register your sim. She adds "By the way, for those who have seniors or people who don't know how to access the internet at home, please help them to register their sim cards because it's important. We cannot just leave them behind, they need it too to contact family, friends."

Kuya Kim says "There was an identity theft that I experienced in the past, I really wanted to emphasize how you need to have your digital identity be tied up with your mobile phone number. I hope Globe continues to get people to register their numbers with Globe, TM, Globe At Home Devices, time to #SIMRegNaTayo!"

Givielle Florida of Globe Prepaid says "Globe has registered 47.4 Million customers as of July 19th. This is a collaborative effort of their partners, the government, bulk registrations for corporatet clients and those that need help in Globe stores. In order to intensify the campaign, they are opening their 800 centers nationwide. The importance of sim registration also means they are working with GCash in financial inclusion, you are reminded to register today not for compliance, but for you to have safe access to records today. Here's a bigger, brighter digital space for everyone!"

I guess it's clear, not to really scare you, but if you will not register your sim cards, there will be repercussions and we wouldn't want to do that right? Remember, it will only be until July 25, 2023. No more excuses after that!

Polo Ravales and Kiray Celis for Portrait of my Love

Unlikely pair? Yes of course, but funny? Romantic? It surely will be.

I have always been fascinated with these two stars since I have covered entertainment beats. Polo, was awesome in TGIS, Anna Karenina, and tons of character roles he did all these years. Whilst Kiray is super funny during Regal Films’ tapings (we talked during Shake Rattle and Roll days), and her other shows from the other network. Now she’s out and proud to be part of GMA Artist Center and that means we’re going to get more chances to talk to her. Good thing there’s a new movie showing on April 3 called “Portrait of my Love” which prolly stemmed from the song with the same name.

Kiray Celis says “ His chest is just enormous, so I always hold it, it is my height so it’s like very fluffy. I am a fan of his boobs. I didn’t have to adjust, it is a new place but it is just work. I know a lot of people in GMA, I am blessed to have a lot of work, I don’t mind working with hunks and sexy partners, just give me two months and I will make my b00bs bigger. I am so scared of enhancements, I don’t like surgery, I am happy with my body. I am scared about the industry, I am sad about the state which is why I am promoting anti piracy campaigns with Globe. We need to respect the work of people, we need to uplift the standard, that’s what I feel. I am happy with Ms Liza Diño and her efforts, those weeks that only have Pinoy films in cinemas. This made me do more serious scenes, to fight for someone you love, to lose someone when you wanted them, the sincere me, I wanted that. I wanted to cry the way I wanted to cry from my heart. I had my boyfriend two years ago, I realized I didn’t have to find him, you just have to accept. We all want the one person to be your forever. We shot this 99% in Baguio, that place is so beautiful, we have lots of places discovered which are not really tourist spots.“

Polo Ravales adds “I am Kiray’s painting class professor, I was given riches by my folks and I had people who wanted me dead. This is my first time working with Kiray, no dull moment, we had fun on and off screen. We have small scenes in the beach, it may or may not have love scenes. If it wasn’t Baguio, it would have lit up. I was raped in the beach. Off cam she still does it. With the eve of streaming sites it is hard to promote local movies, I believe in producers who still work on. I didn’t expect to see in a perfect woman, it is a choice, you have to appreciate the flaws. It depends on the moment, I am engaged, I didn’t expect it but it came. I found her when I wasn’t looking and felt contented.“

Jeffrey Santos says “ I am the antagonist here, they have people behind them who envy and wanted them dead. Their love goes beyond death and maybe I would be the cause of it.”

Epi says “I am the artist and uncle of Polo here, I may spoil the movie if I make him known today. We have conflicts. Let’s leave it at that. I just came from a film festival and I was awed by the pavilions of other countries compared to the Philippines. This is a way to ask for help, I hope the government gets the needed push because we have good movies, to raise the quality and effort to other countries would be good. I hope they start showing this on weekends because I believe it will help more producers.”

This is RJ 7 Films Entertainment’s first mainstream project and the film is written and directed by Poap Manansala (70+ director who did set design for of Dolphy). Cast includes Epy Quizon, Jeffrey Santos, Cai Cortez, Leo Martinez, Nonong De Andres, Amay Bisaya and Nemie Boy. Produced by Roger and Jane Totanes who in hindsight only wanted to produce Filipino films. Ms. Jane quips “I really appreciate the efforts in doing this film, we are happy they give all their best portraying the characters. It just gives us more hope to make more movies. Thank you to everyone who helped us in this film.”

Maybe it’s a good thing to watch. We really liked what we saw on the trailer. This is also the last movie of Bangky if you know him. Might as well no?

Enchong Dee and Kiray Celis for I Love You To Death

I've already seen the first trailer and I'm excited. The Comedy Princess Kiray Celis (of which she welcomed to be called) was also happy about the reaction of those who've seen it online. She's going to appear in this film with good looking premier ABSCBN actor Enchong Dee in this Horror Comedy flick entitled "I LOVE YOU TO DEATH". It looks like the plot is simple, the lady asks for a man who would fall in love with her, but worded it kinda wrong for a literal wish. She got her wish, but the guy unfortunately is deadly in love with her, literally too.

Kiray adds "The pressure will really just come out later on but making this film is fun! I think the trailer just shows a few of the scenes, you'll get jump scares, you'll think this is just comedy but that's just 10 percent in the trailer."

"There are a lot of things being compared to my past movie, but the feeling of being confused is what they wanted to do in the first trailer. The second trailer just came out and that will present a more detailed description of the characters. I think the Marosa film isn't our competition, we're tagalog movies so we're in the same team. I would ban hollywood films if possible and support only those being made by Filipinos. I believe in that. Am I so nice in saying that?! 

Whatever you watched also in ASAP, we're like that! He's way wilder than Derek, I felt easy though because Enchong said he's going to lead in the kissing scene. I don't really say no and do as much as I can. I want it to be real, this is experimental and something new. I told Mother Lily that Enchong will be the one to chase me."

Enchong was actually digging what Kiray was doing while making the film. They might not have worked in films in the past but there are several shows in ABSCBN where they've met already so it was pretty much easy to work with her in this project. Enchong also adds "We're like this off cam, we're just putting this on stage and mall shows because that's how it is. We built this relationship while making this film and when we're there, we just show something real. Kiray felt awkward (during love scenes), I felt that plus a few bullies even made it worse (he looked at the other cast members)."

He's been traveling a lot these days and he also took time to concentrate on business. He quips "I don't want to reach a point where I'd burn out, that's why I produced my own album and concert. I ask my friends, my supporters, I want people to look at me that I'm not jaded, this business where there are a lot of people that want to be in, I do my best and prepare myself for what's coming. I'm happy, I'm contented, I'm excited, I'm focused. I did a lot of things in my business, the other things that I'm doing besides showbiz. I'm preparing for the future. I want the younger stars to be inspired, not like when I was before when I've experienced some senior actors that didn't treat me well."

I LOVE YOU TO DEATH will be shown on theaters nationwide starting on July 6! This also stars Janice De Belen, Betong Sumaya, Devon Seron, Trina Legaspi, Michelle Vito, Shine Kuk, Paolo Gumabao, Christian Bables, Nico Nicolas and Dino Pastrano. That's only a few days from now. Derek Ramsay, Solenn Heussaff, Kean Cipriano and Kiray Celis for Love is Blind

We had the chance to be in the Love is Blind blogcon in Luxent Hotel, QC. We talked to the film's star Derek Ramsay, Solenn Heussaff, Kean Cipriano and the newest bombshell and apple of the eye of Derek, Kiray Celis. This offering from Regal Films talks about the play of physical love, attraction and romance between four people who believed in love potions and it's effects on people.

The Director of the film Jason Paul Laxamana said he had to adjust a bit in treatment because he's very used to doing indie films. He wanted to be bery detailed and is so glad about the the experience of making a mainstream film. Derek also lamented "Obsession is a scary thing, I've dealt with that in the past and know how dangerous it is. You can be dimplomatic about it but you have to get your point across. Obsession is different from love and you need to draw that line that you appreciate the admiration but there are boundaries. There are really funny scenes here including me kissing Kiray, where she had to spit on me. My other films are not so into Valentines, but this is a light film and everybody can watch it."

Kean adds "You don't know how it happens, it's overwhelming to see people with art that we do. We go through things like that and it's no joke. I did a scene with Derek and had to do massages, which was awkward. I can't forget the daring scenes we did on the first day. I wanna leave a part of myself in everything that I do including acting. Love is beautiful, even if deception is involved but you'll learn what true love is because of what she's doing in the movie."

Kiray says she had to learn how to love someone, she didn't prepare at all and thought she was doing a small role. "I thought I was just doing the kid Fe but later on realized I was also doing everything. I won't pressure anyone to like me because I deserve someone who would go the mile for me, that's just how I am. I couldn't get hold of the fact that I had to bear my body a bit, I'm very conservative. Although there were times he was mounting me, I can't say any more than that. I wasn't think about his thing in the scene. I'll try next time."

Love is Blind will be showing on February 10 and is the official offering for Valentines Day of Regal Films. Thank you so much to everyone who went to the event. It was awesome meeting the cast!

New Shows LolaBasyang.com and #ParangNormalActivity on TV5

Typhoon and rain was outside but no one could stop TV5 from launching new shows as they held the grand press conference of two new shows, LolaBasyang.com and Parang Normal Activity. The brains behind this child project is the Perci Intalan and Jun Lana headed production house The Idea First Company that worked with the happiest network in the country TV5 so they could bring brand new spanking shows in your homes starting this Saturday/weekend. 

I still remember the time when legendary comedienne Chichay and Luz Valdez played the role of Lola Basyang. She was the iconic grandma who always got her grandchildren learn about Filipino values by telling them stories, legends and have them sometimes in it too. It's a pretty epic story line for its time and I must say, kids were a little obsessed to sit in front of their TV's or drag their parents on movie houses just to see it. This show though will have one of the greatest actresses in Philippine showbiz industry, Ms. Boots Anson Rodrigo. She says "It's the same type of stories, same legends that Filipinos loved. The only difference is you've got a more hip Lola B telling her grandsons/daughters about the usual. What kind of Lola B? For starters, her name is that way, her hair ain't white (she's dyed her hair), she's not on a rocking chair, she's not wearing a "Saya" anymore and wears pretty colorful clothes, neither is she just reading off a book as she's now on a tablet. She also is a blogger and she's going to be seen in almost all those popular social media channels most people are on and things are going to be told in a grand way every week."

The first episode will be a story about Maria Makiling. A really gorgeous fairy that lives in a mountain based on Philippine folklore to be played by TV5's princess Jasmine Curtis Smith. She wasn't at the press conference but one of the co-stars hunky Carlos Agassi was there and we asked about how he ended up on the show. I also asked about what he's been doing in the past few months/weeks since he's not that quite visible doing projects like these, and he says "I'm doing "Swak na Swak" in ABSCBN and also taped Imbestigador in GMA Channel 7 just a few days ago. I'm a free agent and nobody's managing me right now so everyone can go directly to me if they want to get my services. When this project was offered to me, I was more excited to have the chance to work with some great people in a different channel, all good!" Meanwhile, Vin Abrenica was there too together with Yna Asistio because they'll star in another story in the LolaBasyang.com series called "Ang Plawtin ni Periking" (Periking's Piccolo), which is about a small magical flute which you'll see in the coming weeks.

Lights went off and the spooky soundtrack played... it did actually frighten the kids a bit and when they got off the stage, these three teen boys came out hunting for what seems to be an entity... perhaps a ghost. I'm sure everybody had their own horror stories and these guys are putting in a little fun into it by getting some full blown stories that would make you laugh, smile, think and be a little frightened in between if you watch their show called #ParangNormalActivity.

This show may have a horror component to it but Director Perci Intalan assures that all the episodes were designed to just be light and wouldn't scare the pants out of your kids when it premiers this Saturday on TV5. You'll meet the ghost named Charlie played by the bubbly and pretty Ella Cruz. She'll be together with Carl Guevarra, Ryle Paolo Santiago, Andre Garcia and new discovery Shaun Salvador. You might be thinking almost all these boys and Ella hail from ABSCBN but they've been properly asked to do this specifically, they're also in between work so it was the perfect time for them to do it here.  

It's a mix of young love, comedy, playfulness, horror, mystery, adventure and everything in between but of course, it's not all rainbows and butterflies because they're going to be a little miserable when the characters of Jester Hernandez, Nico Nicolas and Joshua Joffe. In the succeeding episodes, they'll tackle a different story, a different creature or a different mysterious happening that will make the audience stay at the tip of their toes but still laugh in the end because it's still going to be a happy ending. Eunice Lagunsad and Kiray Celis (who just revealed she's got a big crush on Tom Taus) will add a little more spice to the stories, so don't discount them from any episode (and see her flying!) every Saturday!

"The Mommy Returns!" Showing on May 9th, 2012!

Different artists from different networks need not to worry Filipinos anywhere in the world. Why? There's always one film outfit willing to get these artists into one huge project. Think about the names Ms. Ruffa Gutierrez, Mr. Gabby Concepcion, Pokwang, John Lapus (whom I found so hilarious in Moron 5 and the Crying Lady), Gloria Diaz, Kiray Celis, Gerald Pesigan and GMA's premier child star Jillian Ward together in one movie and I'm sure you'll give this a shot. These guys have been able to get hits off their individual projects and with them together in this Regal Films concoction it'll be one heck of a Mother's Day Presentation and a horror-comedy film!

It's not an ordinary slapstick flick where they would need to hurt each other before someone would laugh in their seats; but heavily invests on situational funny moments in this family oriented comedy. This isn't my first time seeing Pokwang in roles like these because she has starred in quite a number of films I've covered. She's the matriarch who dies and was sent to purgatory. They have some funny terms used for that place and John Lapuz' character. After Pokwang dies in the film, beauty queen Ruffa Gutierrez suddenly gets to capture gorgeous man Gabby Concepcion. His situation entails her dealing with the three kids Pokwang left plus the ghost she portrays in the film.

It was my first time seeing Ms. Ruffa Guttierez and she was really gorgeous! She cried a bit when asked questions about her Mom and the brouhaha that happened a few weeks ago. Ms. Gloria Diaz was also there together with Gabby Concepcion and John Lapuz. They recollect how much talk they had to do about love and relationships while doing this film. Some of them have failed marriages but everyone seems to want a lifetime partner. They also had so much fun doing this movie together with the kids. Photos from the presscon here!

This mother's day offering from Regal Films, Ms. Roselle Monteverde and Mother Lily is directed by the one and only Joel Lamangan.
