Young JV: Doin' It Big!

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

We sat down this afternoon with good looking pop rap star YoungJV and got a little personal as it was free for all when he accommodated questions over coffee at Baang Coffee in Tomas Morato. Born Eduardo JV Arancillo Kapunan III, his ilonggo roots was quite evident in the way he talks (malambing), we also felt he was softspoken but quite confident. He exudes a sensible urban young guy with rap and hiphop influences but none of those bad traits at all.

He's a good guy, but a damn good looking one. Aside from his music, he's also venturing into acting. You can sometimes say that it's already a norm in the entertainment industry. He's admittedly learning the ropes and also continually studying in the hopes to be better in this craft too.

His new album is released by Star Records, he's happy he gets to work now with one company. He made a remarkable improvement in his career and he attributes that to the first people who helped him specifically ASAP; this was when he guested for the show. He's happy with his career and his music now because he got to plan a more pop RnB approach this time which was both his decision and star records. Now he's got fans of all ages wherein before it was almost more underground. He says he feels "the need to be artistically free but in hindisight, if it doesn't put food on the table then you won't go further with your career". He wants a balance between the two and he's now also concentrating on singing wherein before it was much more of just rap.
Pop, house, acoustic, he sees music so free now that you can't contain it into one genre. His influences are life experiences, a heartbreak (which he's gone through a lot he says), relationship would actually delce him to write. He did all of the lyrics in this new album and he's proud about that.
Doin' It Big has got 11 tracks. I suggest you go and watch the video he had with Myrtle which has been getting a lot of views on Youtube.
Your Name (featuring Myrtle Sarrosa)
Intro - Doin' It Big
Get Up & Dance
Rock This Town (featuring Laze & Yumi)
Kailan Kaya
Tanong
Boy Meets Girl (featuring Yeng Constantino)
Alay (featuring Akiko)
Got To Have You
Hurts So Bad (featuring Karylle)
Pinas
He's under Cornerstone now and he's excited to plan out the next few years with them. He decided to be with this talent agency when they got the chance to bond on their US tour.

You can touch everything but not his hair, he's Young JV and he's still got a lot to prove. He's doing a damn fine job already and I can't wait for the projects that he'll probably do with his new album, his management and the new recording company he's working with. He deserves all the good things that he's getting now and with the fine young man he's become, I won't be surprised he'll be a superstar on his own right pretty soon.

Congratulations Young JV! I'm rooting for you!

The Launch Of His Self Titled Album: Paulo Avelino

Thursday, October 04, 2012

Everybody knows Paulo Avelino. Cute, gorgeous, sexy, one that's got the body that most people would envy. I was able to interview him a few months ago for the movie Aswang. I find him so humble, appealing and who wouldn't wanna say the best terms you would ever wanna think of for a guy who's got the best assets ordinary men would just dream of. Playing the famed character "Nathan" in Walang Hanggan probably made him the household name that he is. Admittedly he says it was not much of a sacrifice when he decided to transfer stations, but he said he made some VERY tough decisions. He's now reaping the fruits of his labor and he owes his success to a lot of people. His management, his family, his fans and all the people who support him.

Now pegged as one of the most bankable actors of our time, he marks this day as his freedom. Freedom to venture into other forms of art, yes ladies and gentlemen... Paulo Avelino's got a self titled album and he's excited to let you hear about it. His current single "When She Cries" has been doing good in airplays and requests now consequently placing 6th on MyMusicStore.com.ph topping other singers and artists in legal digital downloads. How can you not be happy with that?! =)

A little nervous at first, Paulo introduced us to his new album. It's got three covers to cater to everyone's taste, 6 tracks and its counterpart minus ones so 12 all in all. He says he owes a lot of his fame to the success of his show in ABSCBN and since he wanted to be a well rounded actor and singer they gave him this opportunity to have his own album. He also touched a bit on how he missed the Cosmo Bachelor Bash because of the One Kapamilya Tour. He's not holding back on baring himself out in the public and says as long the project needs it he will do it. He feels a little sad about ending the series Walang Hanggan and will miss his co actors too. He mentioned that the last airing will be on the 26th but fret not because he's got a few films up his sleeve. "The bride and the lover" with Lovi Poe and Jennelyn Mercado is now in the works. Plus he's got more projects in the pipeline. Among the tracks in this album, his favorite is "Your Love". They are also making the music video for this already so make sure you stay tuned for that. His priorities onlynow include family, work, friends, fans and of course God among others.

He shares his excitement about the official release of this album this Friday and the upcoming meet and greet on SM Skydome which will happen on Sunday. He's going to do a lot of things that day so if you don't have anything to do on October 7, 2012 rush down to SM City North Edsa and get the chance to avail of his album and watch his show.

I admire Paulo Avelino, for being the great actor that he is, and the things he does so he could learn other things... because he treats himself as a true artist! Music to him is just like acting so he is trying to hone his skills other than the obvious; because he knows he's been pretty good at it. This is his life long dream. He wanted to really sing and his track sales online show there is a market for him. The song choices in this album are evident of how he grew up in the 90's so he wanted to have a band perform with him too later on if the opportunity permits. After all, he does not want to disappoint the crew and producers who made this happen for him. His only one wish is for you to see how much he wants to do this for you too... make sure you grab his album on stores this Friday. Show starts on Sunday 5pm at the SM North Skydome so don't forget he's waiting for you!

Bryan Termulo's "Hanggang Ngayon":
It's About Time!

Wednesday, July 18, 2012

I spent quite a number of days listening to this guy right here. He's good looking, I know. You probably have figured that by now, but just like you too... I'm a skeptic. I figured hey what the heck I'll see for my self what the fuzz is all about; so I took his CD and sent myself to listening and digesting his songs these past few days. Honestly, I was impressed.

Bryan Termulo is actually no newbie to show business. He's been here since he won a runner up post in Pinoy Pop Superstar (I can imagine you hearing that being said by Regine Velasquez- Alcasid) and several stints in SOP back in the days when it still aired. Young and raw talent doesn't come well received by the masses then but when his turn came to actually sing a couple of tracks for ABSCBN shows like "Bihag" for 100 Days to Heaven (which I absolutely LOVE!) and this new single "Dadalhin" in the hit teleserye Walang Hanggan he's getting absolutely noticed and got the big breaks he's been rooting for the past few years. All I can say is, it's about time!

It was my first time seeing Bryan which consequently also was Orange Magazine TV's Second Anniversary. The guy was very humble, very quiet. He's got that boy next door vibe. I was surprised there are still people who looked this good, yet still happily single. I guess he's just waiting for the right time in his career and this wouldn't be a bad time to break the scene and conquer the charts right?!

Bryan Termulo wants to concentrate on his genre. His brand of Pop Music has definitely touched thousands of Filipinos here and abroad. You often hear them ask "Sino kumanta nun?! ODK!" (Who sang that song?! OMG!) every single time it's played on TV. Then women fall to their knees knowing there's something that looks this good behind that song. This heartthrob has appeared in several stints on screen so a regular acting gig or movie wouldn't be impossible in the next few months. He's the one to watch and we wouldn't be surprised if he's going to be a household name pretty soon.

This is his second album entitled Hanggang Ngayon released and produced by BWB Records. He's got several originals and some covers included in this album.

1. Lagay Ng Puso
2. Nasan Ka Na
3. Kung Maibabalik
4. Nagtatanong
5. Aanhin Pa
6. Hanggang Ngayon
Bonus Tracks:
7. Dadalhin
8. Pagdating Ng Panahon

The first one called "Begin" is still out in the market and for sure it'll do good. His single Hanggang Ngayon (included in the album with the same title) will surely also win him accolades this year. When he performed that evening, we were all staring at him. We were at awe and wondering how he's this good.  At this day and age his music just sounded so fresh and inviting. You just know each track was carefully selected to appeal to a wide demographic. Bryan Termulo definitely isn't just a pretty boy, he really can sing and his talent definitely calls for something he's long been waiting for. It's his time to make it big in this industry, because he damn deserves it!

Make sure you get a copy of his new album in your favorite record bars nationwide!

Thank you so much to the good people at BWB Records, Orange Magazine TV, Pinoy Song Magazine, Moomba Bar & Restaurant, BND Hair Gallery Salon, Lifeline, Dickies and Erase Placenta for making this awesome event possible. Thank you also to Bryan for gamely answering questions from yours truly!

HALE: The Complete Hits Album

Thursday, June 28, 2012

I have seen this guy in the past when we got the chance to talk with SomeDayDream a few months ago. I haven't seen them perform as a group "live" though aside from the occasional appearances they had with MYX via public television. He was nice, he had that presence and I'm not surprised he's got a huge following because aside from good looks... Champ Lui Pio's got so much talent. That goes the same with everyone in his band called Hale.

Although we're all so shocked about their decision to disband for all the wrong or right reasons, we still continue to reminisce and ask ourselves... why do I love Hale and their songs. We might not even know why or how we could get the band back but for the latter we can easily get our fix of their music! Polyeast Records just came out with the "Platinum Collection : HALE | The Complete Hits Album". If you are a fan of the band or their songs, you would never want to let this thing pass because aside from the CD this contains a DVD compilation of all the greatest hits you love from HALE. This is surely something that fans should never miss. The playlist also boasts of 17 songs which topped Philippine charts when the band was still together. The song choices alone were great, I wonder if they had a hand at this. You should definitely watch the DVD first before listening to the CD. I guess that's the part where you get nostalgic.

Honestly I see quite a ton of sadness in some of these songs. But there's actually truth in these things. These songs matter to guys in general. Girls dig the part where its supposed to be sung to them. You dream of how these emotions could possibly be expressed; they use lyrics and music. Hale just does it like clockwork. It's like poetry put into a song. It's deep that you get depressed in a good way (if there is such a thing). Heavy on most of the ones included in the album; but totally apt for the occasion. There's like a sense of sadness but you love how it just brings your sanity back to something that would totally communicate how you feel when it happens to you. A breakup, a situation, a thing of the past just comes crashing back to you after hearing them play their music.

Broken Sonnet, The Day You Said Goodnight are given favorites. What I love in this album though is quite a surprise... it's the single Magkaibang Mundo. Not only because the official music video stars one of my muse Angel Locsin but because the words touched me the most. It's kinda situational too and I won't tell you I had a similar experience. No I won't tell you really LOL. I guess this album's strong point is that everybody's got a situation they can relate to. That's exactly what the songwriter probably wanted to do in the first place. If you like the band, the song and their music, you should definitely have this album. You'll regret it if you don't.

Please drop by your favorite record stores nationwide and get it. With a CD and DVD it's a collectors item. Thanks to Polyeast Records for making sure we have enough inspiration with Hale's music until now. I just wish somehow, someday they still get to play together. I'm with you.

The "Jay Park - New Breed" Experience!

Monday, May 07, 2012

I meet stars. That's given with Lifestyle bloggers like me. I seldom do think about how starstruck I become when I'm in the midst of them, more so if they are so talented enough that I become a fan. I genuinely feel happy too if I see them so nice even behind the cameras.

He was no different. He's Jay Park!

Well, there was pandemonium around Eastwood City that evening to say the least. He's a charmer, good looking, sculptured physique, can sing and dance (I almost envied him haha) he's the total package so to speak and he's in the Philippines to promote his latest album called "New Breed"!

It's one way of telling the world that he's back and he's making his mark in this industry. He was awesome on stage, he gave us a good show as you can see!

Honestly I'm not fond of Korean/KPOP tunes but he's definitely one that changed my mind. I even listened to his songs this morning and found around 4 that I could add to my personal playlist. I seldom update my songs and if he passed that, it'll surely be more on your turf... my standards are pretty high. The track Girl Friend is awesome; I get LSS even now.

His candid shots after the show looked better. Catched him off guard! :)

Best of all, I felt his sincerity when he talked to the fans. That's something you don't see everyday. He took time to talk to them even with the short time they get to spend with him. I surely hope he'll come back for more... maybe a full concert in Araneta or something. Wouldn't that be neat?

Jinri Park even hosted the show. That was neat! She's pretty no?

Thank you so much to MCA Universal for bringing Jay Park to the Philippines! Hope you guys loved the photos! I'm sure we're all mutually happy that he gets to touch base with the fans and start this tour with a bang! I hope you guys rush to your favorite record bars and get hold of his album NEW BREED from MCA Universal! You'll get your KPOP - R&B and Hiphop fix in no time!
