Blogopolis Into The Wild: Creating A Compelling Blog by Googly Gooeys

Saturday, November 16, 2013

I haven't seen their blog honestly but I must say I am impressed with blog tandem Googly Gooeys. Their readership actually spans 50% worldwide and they are showing us how to pitch our blogs to advertisers. Making social media kits is a start.

Analytics and statistics is important. Now they have a picture of who reads their blog. Things like these can be offered to your advertisers. They create cute posts that are quite engaging, interaction is key too aside from the usual content.

Cult blogs are not that big but if you get exposed with that as well, then its genius!  You have to build your brand in a way where they will also follow you in social media. When you have posts in Facebook you have to also consider interactions. If it gets shared, liked and how many individuals have seen it says the Googley Gooeys authors.

Your media kit show your style and point of view so the advertisers understand your blog. Bank on your blog and always make it unique.

I'll probably work on mine hehe :)

Blogopolis Into The Wild: Jim Paredes and The new nation 2.0

Jim Paredes whom I met in the Kota Kinabalu trip a few months ago is now talking about The New Nation. He's comparing a lot of things from the past and telling us a little about doing morse code and smoke signals online.

How traditional media use bloggers now is unprecedented. Finding connections with people is good change, he even made a sample on how he's going to ship 600 tons of relief for Yolanda victims.

Without it, it would have been harder. If you are going to expose yourself to the world, do it the right way. You must have the bigness of heart when you're wrong. That's the best way to solve it on social media. I agree, that's awesome.

Updates later peeps! Live blogging in blogopolis!

Blogopolis Into The Wild: Blink

Blink a new platform for streaming movies, tv, live events and whatnot can now be purchased online theough BLINK.

There were a few glitches on her presentation but i think that's understandable. Wifi connection here isn't that stable. For what its worth, the service is quite cheap if you compare it to cable special screenings and on top of that you'll have more of hollywood since they literally get movies from these companies around three months after the actual release. Isn't that amazing?

Well, I have yet to deal with my own bandwidth I guess before I seriously consider doing this. I may be tempted to get this connected to my HD tv, do they have trials? I must ask!

Blogopolis Into The Wild: Social Media in the Newsroom

Tj Manotoc made us all a little old by asking us when we signed up for twitter. Starting from how personal initially their accounts were to making their accounts available in the newsroom, he started stating initial tools and how tweetdeck was useful.

He was made to imagine that Twitter was like Starbucks where you can probably say anything but most of the folks that would hear it are strangers. They did social media research in elections and it was really useful for pushing content. The public engages in live discussions and that is just like real life. It is a big boost for their corporation and the reach is definitely BIG.

It was a perfect avenue for crowd sourcing, sometimes their headlines or scoops come from social media. That just makes news to become an ongoing conversation. Much like online bayanihan. It's not just them pushing content.

Great guy, smart too. No wonder he's got a show based on Social media.

Stay tuned for more updates from blogopolis at intercon manila.

Blogopolis Into The Wild: Podcasting with Lori Baltazar

Lori Baltazar of Dessert Comes first says she can't tell everyone what she means so she immediately delved us into a video podcast.

She has invested on her crew and has made arrangements on doing this. She's on her third group of videographers which she believes is already "a charm". She says content is still king, it will benefit your viewers and it will also be able to capture your intended audience.

I must say she's one of the best food bloggers in the Philippines and what she's doing is a level up from the norm. She's a kind gal and she says that actually got her places in this industry. So for those who are still evil you better change hahahaha!

Blogopolis Into The Wild: Maria Ressa

Live blogging from this event!

Maria Ressa just finished her talk about journalism and blogging. She also touched on Typhoon Yolanda and how they covered everything online. She was also awarded a Rippler Award courtesy of Nuffnang Philippines.

Personally I still don't like her because of her views about public domain and stealing photos... But i won't discount the fact that she has helped media and social media in general. There I said it.

ChurpOut! 2013: The Social Influencers Pep Rally!

Tuesday, March 19, 2013

Twitter is so addictive! Just like you I've been spending a whole lotta time with my readers, friends and family in this social media channel. It's so easy to connect and get instant feedback with the rest of the world and why not, its all free!

Well this time they made it even better, we get to earn while using it. If you've got tons of friends and followers, a simple click can earn you through a program called ChurChurp!

And what way to celebrate it more but by launching it in style. They held an event just last week called ChurpOut, a Pep Rally to show the communities' admirable social media influencers that are all from this side of the globe!

Present that evening was Country Manager and Tech Blogger extraordinaire Abe Olandres. Haven't really talked to this guy but I read his blog. Met him a few times too. He's one of the good guys..

Nuffnang Launches NUFFNANGX!

Monday, September 24, 2012

Heard the news? People have been so busy buzzing about NUFFNANGX these past few days and I had to check it out myself. For bloggers like me, it is quite a daunting task to monitor my own or other peoples blogs because of the manner you have to do it. Typing URL's, clicking here and there, it's even so troublesome to comment on it when you can't get that captcha right or react about that certain blog you love so much. I went ahead and did the next best thing, download NUFFNANGX!

To tell you honestly I didn't have any idea what it was initially. The curiosity was killing me so when I got online I installed it on my IPAD2 and voila!

I got my blog registered and claimed then I tried to follow others as well. It automatically loaded my blog articles and you know what's good about this? You can actually aggregate your comments and have a cinch replying back to anyone commenting on your site as well. You can enable push notifications to the system and have your phone or tablet alerted whenever someone showed some love on your article. Isn't that neat?

Best of all, it can all fit in your previous conversations into one of the tabs so you won't miss any part of the story when you are replying to your followers as well. The app also enables them to easily follow your updates wherever, whenever. It's got some awesome recommended blogs too! I just had mine today, so if you got one, wouldn't it be so nice to follow kumagcow.com while you're at it? Haha I know, self promotion isn't one of my best talents but just the same since you are probably gonna use it to follow some of your favorite blogs it wouldn't hurt to get mine on it too LOL. It takes just one click!

If you are just reading blogs on your free time, this is the best app there is on Google Play or the App Store. Don't be left behind, you know you gotta have this one on your gadget! Capisce?!

You can download the apps here!

Nuffnang+SkinWhite Movie Premier: Snow White and the Huntsman

Saturday, June 02, 2012

It's always so fun to see bloggers converge in one place and it's a good thing Nuffnang Philippines and SkinWhite got us hooked up to see the latest movie Snow White and the Huntsman. I arrived pretty late to make huge conversations but I saw a lot of familiar faces. I'll let the photos do the talking!

These are gorgeous people from Nuffnang Philippines and some well known bloggers in Manila. There's also a blogging contest for Skin White where people get to tell their stories about using the product, they were rewarded with special gifts courtesy of Skin White!

The other bloggers and family members/friends that were there also did not go home empty handed as they were treated to Skin White Gift packs through a BRING ME Game! The host was hilarious!

Thank you so much to Skin White and Nuffnang Philippines for another night of bonding and movies. I couldn't believe that in spite of the humongous rain and traffic in Edsa the house was jam packed and of course I didn't know achieving the 'PUTING PANG DYOSA" would be this fun! I am so happy for the winners,  I'm glad I saw some new nuffies too! Until our next movie night eh?! =)

Summer is hotter with Banana Boat Sunscreen Lotion, Schick, & Nuffnang

Tuesday, March 13, 2012

My ideal Nuffnang summer is...

DSC_0012

A breeze that would make your summer nights colder, a tall glass of Tequila Sunrise, a beach that stretches around 7 KM of white beach sand and a hammock tied up in 2 coconut trees while watching the majestic sunset happen in its shores. Now how's that for a Nuffnang Summer? =)

DSC_0009

This happened just this February. I had a blog hiatus at this time and I just needed a break from all of the stress in the city. This vacation gave me more than what I bargained for because this sunset shots I got just made everything worth it! It's like "Schick. Free your skin." because the freedom I got there totally disconnecting from technology made me understand how much love I have for my self and my family. It's like saying "Banana Boat Sunscreen Lotion. We've got you covered." to me because I felt that everything I did at this time Boracay really gave me the time of my life!

Looks like Nuffnang is going to hook us up again this coming week in HUNGER GAMES. Thank you so much for making our summer a tad bit nicer! =)
