A Real Road Test In the Streets of Manila with the CHUCK II KNIT Sneakers

I'm a shoeholic and I'm currently on a shoe diet now because I probably have 136++ pairs of shoes where I keep it. I pretty much know what looks good or not for me and suffice to say, a good 30% of the shoes I own are actually Converse CHUCKS. Now that tells you how much I do love the brand, and perhaps give you a picture how it is with other people that own shoes like it.

There are a lot of technological advancements now with Converse shoes. First off, they listened to consumers and they have really changed the way we look at the CHUCK II. For me, Chucks has pretty much satisfied me in the comfort department because they made the shoe light and I can walk for hours without feeling hurt at all. Although there are some instances where if the terrain is a little bumpy, you could feel the road on your feet. This is where they employ the Lunarlon technology. You see, this is the cushioning foam that they put in CHUCK II's that basically gets you the support and comfort you need without compromising weight that Chucks are actually known for. It's 30% lighter than the usual phylon insoles you see in rubber shoes and they've made it available in future models. 

Speaking of which, we just got hold of the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II Knit Collection. This was planned to be released in May, but since we're good boys and girls they went ahead and did it in April (which means it's available now!). Now I know if you're new, you probably aren't going to buy a descent pair of Chucks just by the looks department (although I would on impulse) but if you saw these pairs in real life, you know it's going to last you longer than the usual pair. Why you ask? It's because of it's built, it's got tightly woven knit material which I'm sure would weather the abuse of everyday life. Bumps, scratches, other people who step on it, might only get it a bit dirty but NOT damage it at all. In a normal world, this is already unusual and getting this material in a pair of Chucks Knit II is just amazing. They also had it in different colors, Volt Green, Black, Yellow, Roadtrip Blue, Red, White and Spraypaint Blue. It's high cut but the one I got isn't and I'm glad they have variety. I didn't just take their word for it, we really did a road test in the oldest Chinatown in the world, the Binondo District in old Manila. We got the services of Ivan Man Dy who does Food Wok's (another term for Food Walk) so we could get to know Manila and the Chinoy food culture, an activity that I surely enjoyed. Then we met with Ivan Man Dy who told us to meet several other people, foreigners who joined in the tour that day. I Need A Road Trip!

I haven't had a decent vacation in 8 years and to tell you honestly I am in the process of fixing my schedules so I can get lee way of having an out of the country experience this time! I'm so excited because I'll probably be traveling with my folks too. I want to experience how to road trip America. I want to see the sights up close. I don't want the usual resort vacations that just end up making you stay inside hotel premises. I want to see people from different places and plainly check how they live their lives. Human interest appeals to me.

The road maybe long but I would want to make my vacation still be the best one I could find. I need to see places in a different light. June seems to be one good month since its summer. I might have more time though in November but I'll weigh my options. I already have my papers ready and I'll check my bank if I can pay for my folks fare. Please pray for me in the coming months so I could get the time to muster up and find vacation time in my busy schedule. I need to relax and amuse myself. I need recreation every once in a while and this has been long overdue!

Where do you think I should go then?! Do you have any suggestions?

A Better View

Traveling has never been my forte but I have been the gadget freak that I am when it comes to these. I jazz up the ordinary experience by getting the comforts of what technology can give. I'm not that much of a nature boy so if I can bring a satellite dish to the woods where our house in the south is, I'll do just that! I have some problems pointing it to a specific direction though and couldn't get some of the channels like I could at home. I wish there was some way I could get a winegard so I won't have a problem getting those hard to reach channels wherever I go. There are also some HD Channels that I'd like to have and if the service ridden dish or digital box doesn't support it; I'd be in a horrible boring spot when taking a breather there.



I love watching television as much as my folks and kin's want the natural scenic view of the countryside. It's not a matter of compromise but a matter of convenience. As long as we still see each other and enjoy the time together it's not going to affect whatever we do in that part of the world. This is perfect for those RV dwellers and for camping out because the options of portability are there. You just have to know what to buy so if the time comes that you would need to set it up you don't have to be a genius to figure out the instructions. Have you ever used any gadget that made your life easier? Is it worth the investment? Tell me about it okay?!

Ride and Stay Alive

I just left the chat box a few seconds ago. I was talking to my best friend from a nearby province in the North because we have not seen each other in a while. Yes guys and gals, he was the same guy who had a motorcycle accident more than a year ago. I think he's okay now considering he lost his eyesight on the left and had major constructive surgery done on his face. He's got a daughter and family to take care of and even if it did cost a lot he needed to survive for them. I was at his side the whole yard and tried my best to at least ease some of his burden. With the boom and popularity of this mode of transport in the Philippines, we learned the hard way about the importance of road safety.

I love motorcycles do not get me wrong. I dream of having these particular bikes in my garage the next few years.

I know it is a long shot, but hey! You and I know anything is possible once you set your mind to it. In that same extent, I know I would be more careful about riding super bikes like these. In storms and gloomy weather, we should always check everything in our vehicle. The same goes with this DUCATI bike that Tom Cruise used in MI3. Riding in the night would also require us to get the best Motorcycle Light Bulbs. No matter how safe you think you are in the road we are powerless against other vehicles that do not obey traffic rules and regulations. I mean how in the world you could see in a foggy night for example if you do not have Harley Light Bulbs that can pierce through anything in the dark. Not only would you get lost, but you can easily get into trouble with the things in front of you. You could fall off a cliff God forbid if you do not take care of your bikes. Kawasaki Bulbs are also excellent in this particular dilemma. Since they are intended more for the Asian riders, they know how it is in this side of the world. Getting the best things for our motorcycles would not just make our rides pretty, it would help us stay alive the least.
