Got the chance to see the Sing GalingSinglebrity Edition 2025 folks yesterday and what good things they've got on sleeve as they prepare their first episode this coming September 27 on TV5 and their other assets. Veteran judges Rey Valera, Randy Santiago and several celebrities told us about their experience and what to expect on the show.
Of course, different people means different personalities. Aside from being serious about the contest part of the show, Sir Rey Valera told us "You'll get to see the good side of the contestants (that we also are with in the industry) when we talk about their individual charities. They are doing this to help folks that are in need. They will do everything for them, that's what is fun in this show because of that different angle. Doing this is like not turning away from your promises in helping others. This is also a way to give back for the years they've been supporting us as artists. People who watch our show sometimes go on wheelchairs, when you get to age and still sing, you are relevant, if you want to pass it to the next generation, this is how you should do it."
Singer Ariel Rivera says "I can say, expect the unexpected. I know some of the contestants are good actors, but when I heard them sing, they're really really talented. People think we only act on screen but we're happy to be part of this and share our talent to help others. We appreciate those that appreciate us. We're friends for years (talking about other artists on the show), being kind goes a long way."
Nina added "I love my fans, they're not all perfect but they are the reason where we are right now. We shouldn't forget that."
K Brosas told us "We're not at the top but we're not going away, we love our craft and the people that work with us. We are thankful and remember our roots."
Here's more of our interviews after the event:
Oh by the way, Rey Valera and a couple of his friends are establishing a way to support up and coming artists on their new YouTube channel. If you want to be part of it, just visit youtube.com/@Sigma54music to get in touch with them. This is his way to leave a legacy.
And again, make sure you watch SING GALING SINGLEBRITY EDITION because it will premiere this September 27 at 7PM and 8PM on Sunday on TV5, Buko Channel and Sari-Sari Channel too. It's going to be super fun!
Looks like your weekend watching will be severely interesting as TV5 amps up one of their hottest fun shows SING GALING as it enters another installment of SING GALING: Sing-lebrity Edition to find the Ultimate Bida-oke Sing-lebrity.
Hosted by gorgeous Donita Nose, funny vixen comedienne K Brosas and literally *shadey* Randy Santiago this coming September 27 onwards. This is for the benefit of their individual "Bidaficiaries" and will be judged by Rey Valera, Ariel River, Nina, Ella May Saison, MitoyYonting and Ethel Booba.
And if that's not enough, they'll be fielding in over 48 celebrities in the show coming from different genres and industries. They have the opportunity to choose their charities and help if they get to be the Ultimate Bida-OkeSinglebrity. This includes Almira Teng, Andrew Muhlach, Anton Diva, Arman Salon, Bobby Andrews, Carmi Martin, CJ Navato, CJ Opiaza, CJ Ramos, Chad Kinis, Cedrick Juan, Dawn Chang, Divine Tetay, Dominic Ochoa, Gio Alvarez, Gus Abelgas, Jay Gonzaga, Jay Manalo, Jeff Tam, Johannes Rissler, Keanna Reeves, KrisshaViaje, KychMinemoto, Laila Chikadora, Leandro Baldemor, Lloyd Samartino, Luis Alandy, Madam Kilay, Mark Ian Garcia, Maoui David, Maui Taylor, Meryll Soriano, Nathalie Hart, Nikki Valdez, Noel Comia, Patricia Javier, Rey “PJ” Abellana, Rikki Mae Davao, RomnickSarmenta, Rufa Mae Quinto, Ryle Santiago, Sexbomb Mia Pangyarihan, Sexbomb Monic Icban, Troy Montero, Valerie Concepcion, Via Antonio and Yobab. As you can see there are TV, film and theater actors, singers, and internet celebrities who will surely do their best to get that crown.
Let's not forget your Singtokers (Gab, Queenay, Ari G, Yanyan, Muse Jazz, Niko and Zendee) who will also do hosting duties, online so you get to know the contestants through behind the scene segments for the duration of the show. Again, this shows 7PM on Saturdays and 8PM on Sundays and will be shown on TV5, Sari Sari Channel, Buko Channel, and TV5 social accounts where available.
This will certainly be an exciting year for you, those who love these celebrities, and their chosen charities. So who's your bet?
You've probably seen it and getting a little too comfy to see VIBE, the new countdown show which premiered last August 9th on TV5 and on several MediaQuest platforms. You've probably seen something like it, but this is totally different as it is people driven, which means YOU have a hand of what particular singer, song, artist, songwriter or prod would take the top spot. Also, they've got some new folks to keep you company in each program on VIBE called VIBE JOCKS, and we met some of them a few days ago.
We met with mogul actor host and my buddy Ryle Santiago, singer and actress Ana Ramsey, good looking actor Kych Minemoto, dancer and actor Paulo Angeles, super good looking dancer actor and host Joao Constancia, the pretty internet star Queenay Mercado, the super talented and RPDR PH Season 3 Queen Maxie Andreison, new actor and commercial model Dylan Menor. Vibe Jock Elijah Canlas was supposed to be there too but he had movie scheds conflicting with the launch. He was VERY present in materials/photos though!
Ryle Santiago as a VIBE JOCK
Ryle has been doing good with his several businesses (oh yes he's handling 3 companies), recently hosting hot shows like Face 2 Face Harapan and acting jobs too. He says "You know I'm just beginning to grasp how huge this is. I thought it was going to be just another show that I have to host, and you know me, I'm very passionate about what I do. Hearing about who our partners are, how grand of a scale they plan to do with these shows, I am quite shocked because this is going to be a major responsibility for me. It's different from what I've done before. I'm so thankful for "It's Showtime!" for really being my training ground in hosting shows. It gave me my live selling skills and powers to also do Face 2 Face. Vibe is going to be a perfect playground and put everything that I learned into this show. We'll be tackling Filipino music. We're also a countdown show, and will be here every day of the week. From Vibe on weekends, Vibe Up and Vibe Nights on weekdays, Vibe TV on Saturdays and Vibe Cafe online show on Sunday, we're going to have so much fun with VIBE."
He also shared how there's lots of things planned in the pipeline including guests on the show. If you would like an OPM artist to be there and perform, voting for them would certainly make it happen. Much of these things are also live, so it falls on your end to show how much love to give them on the shows.
Here's more of what we talked about on the sidelines:
And that's not all... because you've got more VIBE JOCKS to entertain you all throughout the day. VIBE JOCK Dylan Menor says "I'm very excited about this new project with TV5 and Mediaquest. I believe VIBE is going to be a great platform not just for artists, but those who work behind the music. We'll get to know their stories, see them perform and do things beyond what folks usually see in concerts. That's certainly something that you should look forward to when VIBE arrives on TV and other channels. I like the genre of Gen Z's, but I'm quite open to any genre, I want things that are energetic!"
Joao was quite happy about the fact that fans now have a hand of who will be on the top of the charts. The shows will also be a good platform not just for established artists, but the indie, new and up and coming ones too. He's quite confident that there are so many OPM artists out there that can really challenge not just themselves but those who have big fan groups because they'll also get to listen to the others. This platform is for them too. They're also keen on performing on the shows because they will have a chance to do that if the opportunity arises. They are also excited to get to know the artists through their interviews.
We asked Maxie about having representation as a VIBE JOCK, but says this wasn't something that she would be nervous about. She's more proud in some way because she gets to represent those who wish to be in the same shoes. She lauds the production of VIBE because they're very progressive to include her as a VIBE JOCK. Thing is, she's going to switch between Maxie and Jhayvot when she feels like it, so there's going to be so much fun that folks will look forward to when she hosts the shows.
Pao and Ryle may have had experience hosting online and TV shows in the past but they both consider VIBE very different because it's going to be more on the art side of things while they're doing the programs. Pao knows they're also there to promote OPM music, the artists and the show so he's very eager to point that out in both the afternoon and evening shows. Anna Ramsey also said that she feels so right at home because the work they've done so far wasn't too stressful, it was smooth sailing since day 1 and she hopes to continue to have that work ethic all throughout the show's duration. For her, the work is light and felt very happy because they've grown very close as the launch comes near. As early as now, the jokes kept being thrown around by the other jocks and she feels it's going to happen quite often once the live shows become a regular thing.
Queenay said that she's quite grateful that she's being given the opportunity to become part of these shows. She knows that the responsibility to do the show is huge and says this wouldn't be given to her if the one above knows that she wouldn't be able to do it. She's happy that there will be a connection with the fans and is excited how the voting will affect the concept of the show.
Kych is quite a happy chap and feels so elated to become part of these jocks. Since he's quite experienced with podcasts, he's got a lot to bring to the table. Plus, he's such a huge fan of Filipino music and knowing that they've got the chance to talk to the OPM artists appearing on their shows, this will be the best platform to get to know them even more. The newcomers will also have the opportunity to be in the show and will give more exposure for them in the long run.
Here's what we talked about during the press conference:
So if you're raring to see how your favorite Filipino and OPM artists are going to fare on the show, make sure to follow their social channels, TV5 and other MediaQuest channels because it's going to be fun! It's time you put your idols into the charts, support them by watching the shows every day and vote for them on FB or the other ways to support. So far, I've managed to watch several these past few days and I can say, I'm hooked! I feel their VIBE!
Laying the groundwork for success in the entertainment industry doesn't come overnight. It takes a village, to say the least, to become good at your craft. Taking workshops is essential, because staying sharp, hungry for personal development and learning techniques and how to employ them comes with the job.
Director Rahyan Carlos has been doing work in the entertainment industry
for years. His stellar work in directing, scriptwriting, and coaching
actors has made him who he is today. The Filipino director didn't really
stay stagnant and wanted to learn from the best, Hollywood's Chubbuck
Technique has landed the biggest stars some awards. Ivana Chubbuck had
to teach him for several months (and continue til today), and this
required him to be in the US for the duration in order to do it. He
could lose work in the Philippines, but did it anyway because of his
hunger for growth. The expanding array of skills, learning nuances, the
training program had to be supervised by Ivana herself, and he did it
all. Now he's the only one authorized to teach this Chubbuck Technique
in the country, under the MQuest Artist Agency.
Direk Rahyan Carlos says "I'm so proud to be here now in MQAA and excited to train actors. I've started doing this 27 years ago, changing hats, and now an acting teacher. I'm also excited to see them land jobs after undergoing training, they're like little trophies. Thank you Jeffrey Remegio for having me since last year, I got to apply what I learn here, in other networks. I will show you a glimpse of what happens in a master class with some of the actors that have undergone training with the Chubbuck technique. I've done the others, but this is intended to land jobs and win awards. Acting is personal, imagination is also important, but nothing beats pain and our own experience. We teach actors to use it to win objectives. This invokes emotion, use pain as a fuel to resolve, and evolve. Use it for change. It's about creating an environment where it all happens."
Ms. Liza Dino Seguerra who has undergone the workshops adds "It's surreal to be with actors, but every time I participate here I am reminded that I am an actress. I worked my way up and now support other actors and folks in the industry. Whenever I get an opportunity to do things with the Chubbuck Technique, it trains you to understand your tool. I have become a better human being, it made me vulnerable. We live our lives coping, but when you are an actor is open yourself up and allow people see your experience. I learned to channel pains I've had in the past in this technique including the hurtful things that are not talked about. It's not easy to confront. You are able to say it to another character even if it is in the back of your mind. It made me talk to people, committing to it is the best tool, our pain, our experience."
Actors Carmi Martin and Polo Ravales showing us a glimpse of the technique
The registration
for this starts today April 12th, and tomorrow April 13th at the 10th
Floor of Launchpad in Reliance Street in Mandaluyong City. You may also
inquire via @MQAAWorkshops on IG and FB. You can also email them via
mqaa.training@gmail.com. We also got to talk to several artists who have
undergone the workshop. These include some of TV5's brightest stars,
and some veteran actors in the mix. This is an opportunity to learn by
some of the greatest coaches in the industry.
You may scan the QR code to know more about it. There's no such thing as an overnight actor, you need to go to the gym to build muscles. Workshops are gyms for actors!
Just left TV5 Novaliches studios this afternoon after meeting with Direk Percy Intalan and the cast of Comedy/Gag-Gameshow "Barangay Singko Panalo" which is currently in their first month on the Kapatid Network. Currently, it is being hosted by Jerald Napoles and Kayla Rivera (who plays Kags Je and SK K), and since it's a Barangay setup, Direk Percy told us how this all will evolve with new and fun characters. They announced this afternoon the addition of Joross Gamboa and Sam Coloso.
Joross has already been in several shows and hit movies, his comedic timing would certainly fit in what they wanted to do with this show. He plays Kagawad Jo, a guy who just came back from a seminar from Baguio. Kag Je and J will surely bring more funny antics in between games and skits in the show. Sam Coloso on the other hand is like an Energizer bunny, she's super hyper and fun which would be so good for the contestants of the show. She's going to make sure that every single person on set will get the same endorphins she produces to get encouraged in the challenges they whip out everyday on the show.
Jerald says "We have new things to share with you today. This is also a sitcom so you get to know the cast as it goes. A bigger cast means bigger collaborations, there will be more ideas. Actually, we don't really talk to each other (he kids), we easily pickup things, it's like we're not working on set. Expect our banter with contestants to become even more interesting. This is a fun experience, we don't try to make things technical, and I hope people feel that in the show. Filipinos are looking for that format."
Kayla adds "I'm excited to share with you that we are growing even more in the show. There will be a few people joining us in the Barangay and I hope you are as excited as I am in welcoming them in Barangay Singko Panalo. In a Barangay there are so many members and so far, in our taped episodes the energy is over the top and I'm so happy our family is getting bigger."
Here's the video we shot during the press conference!
Joross was quite happy and said "There's a transition happening in my life, starting in this show, I'll be a politician. I'll give you envelopes later but it doesn't have anything on it, so just put something there.. God Bless! (He kids). You will not see a game repeated, you will also hear stories from contestants, and even if it's like playing games in streets, it's going to be fun!"
To add to the fun, they also introduced Bob Jibailey who plays the Vulcanizing Shop owner who plays Boogie. He's a pretty cool guy. There's also a former writer who initially was just working behind the camera but they encouraged him to join the cast. He now plays the role of Kap AL, his last name is Moranas, so go figure! He was so thankful for the production as he becomes a part of the show.
It's quite fun to know that they will be doong different games everyday (runs from Monday to Friday). Contestants are auditioned, from the public, and they stand to win over 100 thousand pesos in the Jackpot round. The things they do are quite easy, physical, and can be done in Filipino parties of every kind. This is directed by Rich Illustre and they make sure every episode is something you should look out for. This will be shown every weekday at 5:30pn before Frontline Pilipinas. This is also part of TodoMax Primetime Singko. Make sure you follow their social channels for more updates, they want to make sure the TV audience would go back watching TV again which I think is noble.
Wouldn't you want to join the fun at Barangay Singko Panalo?!
Got the chance to watch the pilot episode of "LUMUHOD KA SA LUPA" yesterday through the advanced press screening arranged by SariSari Channel, Viva Studios and TV5. It's a series based on the comics and movie made by Carlo J. Caparas, and will now be part of the Caparas Universe.
For those who don't know, the film came out in the 80's with Rudy Fernandez, Jackie Lou Blanco, Eddie Garcia and Mark Gil. It was a huge project, and seeing it be done as a series on free to air TV (right after Eat Bulaga) will certainly be monumental, possibly catapult the career of Kiko Estrada who almost quit the industry a few years back.
Sarah Lahbati also has not been doing any projects in the past 8 years. Her last one was also a Carlo J. Caparas masterpiece and reckoned she's been doing only Caparas projects by fate. Needless to say, she's been doing a lot of projects recently and a few endorsements too. She was absolutely gorgeous that afternoon, and her role is an important one for the story since they will have a pairing in "Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa" too.
Aside from Kiko and Sarah, the series also include Sid Lucero, Rhen Escaño, Gardo Versoza, Mark Anthony Fernandez, Andrew Muhlach, Phoebe Walker, Andre Yllana, Ashley Diaz, Annika Co, Rose Van Ginkel, Jeffrey Hidalgo and Jeric Raval. You can officially say this is their attempt to put Kiko Estrada into the "action star" game. The series may have some small flaws, but the thing is made like a movie and quite fast paced. You'll have to watch it from day 1 so you get to see how Norman changes over the course of the series and also know why he had to become a force to be reckoned with later on in the story. Ultimately, this is about family and seeking justice... but just like what the two directors said, none of the characters would be useless. They all had a part to play in the life of Norman.
Here's the interview we had with them after the screening
"Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa" will be shown right after EAT BULAGA on April 8th, and will be shown 8pm the same day at SARISARI Channel in the evening. This is part of TV5's Hapon Champion block and the throng of summer shows they will be releasing. Go like their social channels to know more about the show because they will be posting updates about this more there.
If you've been looking for Marc Logan (and where he's been), don't close your eyes because he's now in TV5!
He's got a new show called "Top 5 Mga Kwentong Marc Logan" after signing with the Kapatid network. This will show on April 6 which is pretty near already, and will feature interesting people as he makes those awkward things funny with his antics. He's pretty known doing that, and even if you don't admit, you laughed a few times in his past shows.
Aside from the usual, he's going to also take a hit on trending videos, topics, and just about anything under the sun. His comical way of telling the stories will surely make your day, and you will be enjoying it with an even wider group of spectators. He will also be introducing several segments like MANOPET for those talented pets, Pakitalk-kitalk for viral social media videos, and Taba ng U-Talk for more Filipino humor.
He will also be interviewing stars, go to unexpected places and find ways to make you laugh all day. Go visit TV5's social channels for more updates about it and several insider shots as they will be revealing more soon! Go give tv5.com.ph a click would you?!
It looks like evening news is going to be a LOT interesting as one distinguished broadcast journalist joins the illustrious line of TV5 anchors in FRONTLINE PILIPINAS. He's Jiggy Manicad, and he's back to bring new flavor to prime time news this side of the world. He joins Cheryl Cosim and Julius Babao and a throng of distinguished journalists to bring you fresh news and what happened in the country the whole day.
Mr. Manicad went through a whole hiatus to care for his family, his kids, deciding to watch them grow. He also tried to run for Senator in 2019 where he wanted to bring agricultural and natural disaster reforms. It was just not in his favor, and admits he learned a lot from. Going back to the industry he's passionate about was a calling, he intently prayed to decide on it when management got in touch.
He says "I have been in broadcast and journalism for 20 years, but I feel politics is not for me, I will concentrate on more honest and transparent work. I wouldn't want that for my soul, but I have no regrets, I learned a lot from that."
He adds "I was doing my job good, and I enjoyed it. When I was still active I always got ahead of the pack because it was a habit. Now the landscape is different and I can make stories ahead of time, I check world news and know my angles right away. On my part, I have never thought of the resignation as doing nothing, I was still myself but have the Lord tell me what I don't have, I am entering a new home with him involved, and I'm happy to do that. Usually when you get old that's when you turn to him, but I want to communicate with him even when I was young. He will give you everything when you are in the right path. I went through hard times and knew him when I was doing nothing and learned to share it even more. During the pandemic we had so many things but it was still him that we called for. It was a blessing and now that I'm in TV5, I hope to be able to do the stories that I want to do, the non traditional ones, even if it is at the end of the show, it will have impact and still be interesting. I hope we could do that in the show as I become part of FRONTLINE. Journalism is different, because as it is, we source credible information and the truth from it and deliver that when it is available."
Here's our video coverage and interview during an intimate presser yesterday, the conversation was certainly interesting because we could ask anything we wanted including the change of networks.
This Monday will be his first day in FRONTLINE PILIPINAS and he's starting with stories related to the celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo, Manila. He's a little nervous, but he's planning to do as little preparation as possible because he's more of a crammer and can do more. Sure, he's got a serious side but he's got lots of personality to bring in the show. He promises to keep it light, concise, understandable and do it in less time for the viewers. He's going to be your buddy in the studio and out in the field every night at 6:30PM. You may check their social channels for more information about his new journey, only on the Kapatid Network, TV5!
Looks like network wars are becoming a thing of the past as various talents from different stations become part of others in the news and public affairs sector. Just recently, TV5 announced their newest anchor, internationally awarded journalist Jiggy Manicad. He's bringing with him over 20 years of reportage experience as he becomes part of TV5 news assets and Frontline Pilipinas.
He was welcomed by Ms. Luchi Cruz Valdez who knows how his experience could up the ante of TV5's brand of reportage because much of his work always need to get to the bottom of things. He joins the illustrious names of existing veteran anchors and reporters with the likes of Cheryl Cosim, Julius Babao, Ed Lingao, Lourd De Veyra, Kaladkaren and Mikee Reyes among others. Just imagine the number of shows they'll be doing in the next couple of months because of the sheer talent and how deep their bench is, perhaps documentaries, investigative journalism, crime reports and more.
It will be done with the brand that TV5 has always been able to deliver, with courage and accuracy. Here's to more of Jiggy Manicad in the Frontline! Make sure you follow their social channels and their digital assets because this will be big!
When they say that they're changing the landscape of television, they sure mean to do it. Recent pronouncements from TV5 indicate huge changes especially about their airing of PBA Games in the channel. They partnered up with A2Z to become their newest free to air avenue especially for locations covered by them.
This certainly was the fruit of the successful staging to the FIBA Basketball World Cup in the country, plus the win of Gilas Pilipinas in both SEA Games and Asian Games (remember that historic Gold?). Now Filipino sports fans will have choice where to watch their home grown professional basketball teams when games start.
This is after all the 48th year of PBA, and the goal is to bring the PBA Games to even MORE homes as possible. This ensures that not only will there be access to games at TV5, but more of the LIVE broadcast of PBA Games in this new free to air channel. After all, they're the Philippines premier basketball league. Zoe Broadcasting VP and GM Rene Gonzales notes of this exciting venture and took delight on the variety they could do with the programming which is now in their court. Having PBA as part of their lineup surely will open up a lot of possibilities for the channel and what they could do in the near future. It will all start on November 5th, and will be broadcasted every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday thereafter. They are also in the workds to do something for the PBA D League and 3x3 where the Philippines is strong.
Meanwhile, you can still enjoy the games on Cignal TV and Cignal Play. You now have options!
If you haven't made it a habit, make sure you watch the latest episode of TikTalks. It's shown on TV5, One PH and also on Radyo 5 92.3 News FM every Sunday at 10:30PM. It's where Ms. Korina Sanchez Roxas, Ms. Pat P. Daza, G3 San Diego, Kakai Bautista and Alex Calleja sit down and talk about things you probably are afraid to ask especially in the matters of money and finance in the family.
Serious stuff, strong opinions, spicy replies and lots of humor will make this an entirely interesting show, especially when they encourage conversations that are greatly uncomfortable, a little taboo in some instances. They've been out mostly because of the FIBA World Cup coverages in the past few weeks and this comeback will be something that'll surely ruffle feathers.
Ms. Korina says "We talk about it openly, especially those that are not talked about in a no-holds barred way. In the show, we'll talk about pre-nup agreements, happiness vs money, living with others, something you might not ordinarily hear at home, you'll hear lots of different opinions from the hosts of the show."
So if you haven't seen past episodes, go watch the latest one first then scrub up on the others. It's definitely going to give you a different perspective about very sensitive topics, you don't have to go far. Be there on the stations we mentioned earlier, every Sundays at 10:30PM.
Looks like the guns are out and they're not going to be beating around the bush as TIKTALKS start their 2nd Season! Hosts Ms. Korina Sanchez Roxas, Alex Calleja, Ms. Pat-P Daza, G3 San Diego, Kakai Bautista promises an even more feisty discussion especially with those questions that everyone has on their mind - but didn't dare ask it.
They are after all from different walks of life, different backgrounds, a veteran broadcaster, a comedian, a radio personality, someone from production and writing, plus a spirited singer and comedienne, it's already a ruckus of a conversation just by knowing that.
Here's what happened during the media conference
This show is produced by Ms. Korina Sanchez-Roxas and her friend Jojie Dingcong of Media Kweens, Inc. Yes, in some way or form, this is like The View in the US, but very different because of it's Filipino flair. They're not even afraid to talk about things that may taboo in the Philippine context, they even opened up the possibilities of defending the not so popular of opinions, and it's totally okay. Previews of upcoming shows include their experiences with body odor and halitosis, so imagine the fun revelations of them talking about their friends and strangers they had to do white lies for.
This show allows you to learn more about what you could never talk about on a normal day. They make sure you'll have less inhibitions, have fun of situations, and perhaps learn something in the process. It's going to be light, none of those serious reportage you're used to see on television. It's something you can watch, be amused, have something to sit back and relax to after a long stressful day. Just to give you an idea, the press conference was very spontaneous that while we were being given answers, several conversations on the sidelines were also happening, and they say, that's exactly is what's happening while they are doing the show. They also promise a lot of interesting topics in the next few episodes, and a few select guests that would be interesting to also talk to. It's a surprise, so head on to TikTalks on TV5, on their subsidiary channel One PH, Radyo 5 on 92.3 News FM and their other partner channels (starts 9:30PM Sundays). This is exciting news, especially since Ms. Korina Sanchez Roxas recently signed a co production with ABSCBN for her hit show Rated Korina.
It's not Valentine's season, but that doesn't mean we can't indulge in stories of love designed with some of your favorite OPM hits. These are some of your favorite music pieces that we all fell in love when they came out. This show also will be featuring several stories meant to pull those heartstrings, some sad, some with a happy ending.
The story will also include some of your favorite actors, love teams, of which were also there during the show's mediacon a few days ago. The roster includes Heaven Peralejo and Marco Gallo, Bea Binene (who will be paired with Gab Lagman), Krissha Viaje and Wilbert Ross, plus the previously paired (in different shows) Jairus Aquino and Aubrey Caraan (who I found so lovely by the way!).
I find Heaven and Marco really endearing during the presser, and while we were talking about love and serious stuff, they've been pressed a lot of times about the status of their relationship. I got the notion that they didn't really have a label but rather just enjoy what they have right now. Marco was also quite serious about courtship, because the thing he wanted is for that certain person to be the one he plans to marry, and I really am impressed with that answer. Bea on the other hand didn't want to touch on her previous relationships and just concentrate on the now, whilst Jairus is certainly a different man now if you compare him during his younger days. This isn't the first time he's being paired with Aubrey but things went smoothly. Aubrey on the other hand is a person that's NBSB (No Boyfriend Since Birth), so when asked about how she connected with the love songs, she got a little nervous answering questions from the press. They look so cute on screen and in real life though!
Here's what happened during the event!
For those who love hearing Ms. Pops Fernandez sing, this is the opportune time to actually watch the show. She will be singing the different songs from Viva's music library and put her little spin on it so it'll be amazing to see that during the episodes. Remember, this will all start on July 29th 3:20pm on TV5. It's going to be a great time to fall in love, and listen to the music we love all these years! This is brought to you by TV5 and Viva Entertainment. Make sure you also follow their social channels for BTS and updates about the show!
I've seen much talk about this on Twitter and an online novel platform a few months ago. When they were already rolling and announcement of the cast was already done, I am glad how they chose Marco Gallo for the role of Kalix and Heaven Peraleho for the role of Luna. This is first and foremost, a love story. Telling that story from the book to the screen is going to be a hard one and it needs to come across the same way if they want to succeed.
The show will premiere on May 14 at 4PM (and Sundays thereafter) on TV5 and their other platforms, and will have 10 episodes to make sure it translates to the audience how hard it is to balance school, family, love and wished career these days. Things will certainly be complicated once the part of infidelity will be shown, so make sure you watch out what caused it and how it would turn out in the show.
Rain in España has shown a lot of promise in Viva One so having this be on free to air and digital TV will have an entirely new audience to please. Writer Gwy Saludes (who looks so young btw!) is also involved as a creative consultant, so it'll be good to see how it would strictly follow the story line, and perhaps, the success that comes with that. This is also directed by Theodore Boborol who's got several successful movies on his belt, so we do expect this to be told excellently like his other projects.
Aside from the two stars, the show also includes Gab Lagman, Bea Binene, Krissha Viaje, Nicole Omillo, Aubrey Caraan, Gabby Padilla, Andre Yllana, Frost Sandoval and Francis Magundayao. For more about this project, head on to TV5's social channels and see why people are raving the Rain in Espana.
New show, new ways to laugh and chill at a fun new sitcom produced by APT Entertainment will be seen on TV5 this coming May 14. It's called "Jack and Jill sa Diamond Hill" and stars sought after actor Jake Cuenca and the gorgeous Sue Ramirez. It's definitely high time that they do something new, and this come at an opportune time since we've suffered much during the pandemic, we really need reasons to laugh a bit at the comfort of our homes. Under the great Director John Lapus, this will surely be a riot and will put us all into a ride with comedy, action and suspense all in one!
Jake and Sue will play police officers who in order to solve a crime, will need to live together as husband and wife... thing is, they need to find the dangerous material "Happy P" and the perpetrator called S3xbomb, plus, they don't really like each other. That's where the problem ensues. The community in Diamond Hills is also full of interesting characters, and one of them could possibly be the one. They would need to choose between characters that Gardo Verzosa, Ms. Ara Mina, DJ Onse, new actress Nana Silayro, character actor Nico Antonio, DJ Jhai Ho (who did the voice overs too!), Hershey Neri, basketball star Willie Miller and a throng of other actors will make this mystery a lot more confusing for them.
These two cops also need to do it in 3 months, a pretty short time when they've got a lot of investigating to do without blowing their cover.
During the mediacon, Sue Ramirez told the press that she would want to return the favor because she has learned a lot these couple of years that she has worked with Jake. This time, she would want to take lead since she's got a lot of experience in doing comedy programs in the past. Jake has been so ecstatic since this is the first time that he's had his own sitcom to star in. Here's a few things we saw during the press conference:
Direk John Lapus didn't have a hard time directing Jake, Sue and the cast as they're very professional. They know they need to be ready once they are on set, and have to finish scenes efficiently while having fun with the others. They lamented how light the set was, and they hope you get to experience the fun they have in making this epic story for primetime.
Again, make sure you tune in to TV5 this coming May 14 during their prime time slot. It's going to be fun!
