Grandma should have had a Lift Chair

In the Philippines, we are in a world where we are surrounded by our extended families. Third degree relatives are so close that even on some instances they even manage to live in the same house. This is very normal to us but thinking about it we have one characteristic that does not apply in other countries; we care for our elderly. I lived in a house where my Grandmother was part of the logistics of educating me at home. I learned poems, read books, essays, literature, public speaking and the English language at a very young age because she taught me everything. That is something that I cherish until now.

When she fell ill a couple of years back she had hard time even standing up. Her knees particularly got weak as she grew older and wiser. She couldn’t even come to the church anymore because the steps to their chapel almost took 20+ before you could get to the platform and more to get to their benches. That was really hard for a 76 year old lady to do and she even got us to tag along there. Imagine how painful that was for her.

At home, she usually sits at the rocking chair placed comfortably in our living room; and she spends the afternoon resting there which she so deserves. We did not have the technology at that time to even have a Lift Chair so it would be easier for her to stand up. We knew how hard it was for her because if we weren’t there helping her to stand, the rocking chair made it doubly arduous indeed. I envy senior citizens and disabled people today because they have the chance to own one if they purchase it at http://www.usmedicalsupplies.com. She already joined her creator in 1995, we all love her dearly. I’ll still remember her the same way and I know she could have had all the comfort in the world if she still lived today. She knows we have done our best to pay her respect. We don’t send people to senior homes because we believe the last years she stays here should be with her family. I hope one day we all realize to do our best to make everyone in the family happy. We need to do our very best to leave this world a little better than when we found it. So if our turn comes to die we will have a happy feeling that we have not wasted our time; but have done our best.

It's a Season of Splitsville: Katy Perry and Beau McCoy

I'm a big fan of Katy Perry. From the start of the L word season I've been trying to find out who sang that pop song they have while everyone's being tearjerky in the tube. A few MTV's later I found out about Katy Perry. I love her songs and the antics on her videos was great. Got them all even on my Playstation Portable Slim... and enjoying her vids every time I workout in the gym and walk myself home.

In not so good news, she and her real life boyfriend Beau just broke up and she apparently couldn't move on. Now all her songs kept real with her and showed how hurt she is until now. She admits that she did not move on yet with that horrible break up. Unlike other singers, performers and movie stars... she admits this case. Beau McCoy, the lead singer of Gym Class Heroes just called it quits just before New Year's Day after dating her for about a year. It's a good thing though because it looks like she's making way better songs now as I looked at it. I'll try to get you her videos here. Probably I kissed a girl and her Hot and Cold single. I'm sure to watch her shows here if she plans to put up a world tour! ^_^

Halloween Costumes Now!

You’re not mistakenly reading this on my website because the rumors are true, Halloween this year just got early!

Nah... I wouldn't like to spoil the kid's celebration of course. There are only a few times that we can see them dressing up for the occasion. What if we need them on some costume parties or for role playing? I think we need places that would be able to provide these services more now.

Do you still dream of that Superhero you love so much when you were a kid? This is the time to be like them because at http://www.incostume.com they have one for kids and adults. Obama's Bailout Package

The President Elect is working already! ^_^

While I was running my usual kilometers in the treadmill, I heard over CNN that Democratic Sen. Max Baucus of Montana, who chairs the Senate Finance Committee; hopes to schedule a vote for the stimulus package which would coincide with the week of the US President Elect’s inauguration in about two weeks. This is a nice way of putting public perception and publicity together in one package. It’s definitely a nice way to start the year with this historic President. The President elect will be talking some more over the resistance he is getting from his own Democrats in the senate because he surprisingly is getting “the treatment” from his own senators.

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said that a bigger planned stimulus package is being sought by President-elect Barack Obama and it could give the economy the much-needed lift, but other steps must be taken to strenghen the shaky financial system and for any recovery to be seen. I just hope they do this the soonest possible time.

We all know that he also plans to put tax cuts for workers but in these tough times people don't respond all that well to little changes because a $500 to $1000 dollars in the middle class is still too low. I wonder how it would really be of benefit to those who are still in debt. A lot of them can’t pay their house mortgages and have probably moved to a lesser expensive home. Some of them becoming homeless because aside from the higher rates they received, they lose their jobs. Banks that were supposed to bail them out in the first place caused all these problems. I don’t even know if the $3,000 tax credit for companies to hire or retrain workers is going to help that much because of the US’ lack of purchasing power these days. Sales have significantly also dropped last December which further strains their plans to recover soon.

Amy Winehouse and Hubby head SPLITSVILLE!

I just saw this in CNN and E News a while ago. The lawyer of Amy Winehouse's husband is filing divorce on grounds of infidelity. Blake Fielder-Civil is still in jail for beating up some people in a local London Bar. His Attorney Henri Brandman will continue proceedings for divorce because of Amy's adultery. Local shows and tabloids caught Amy with a hunk actor sweetly hugging and kissing prompting for this surprising move by her husband. Amy on the other hand refused to comment about the incident.

Amy is my personal idol because I haven't seen anyone drink beer and smoke PHAT while performing in their concert. She obviously has a fortune worth around 10 million pounds so this particular separation will indeed hurt her. She was caught red handed in the Caribbean with Josh Bowman.

Well she might be just lonely you know. I mean if her husbands in jail... you know what I mean hahahaha

Hollywood Movies, TV and Actors

Hey guys! I’ll let you in on this one. I got the chance to check out http://www.moviesplanet.com this evening and found out some of the best films that online users rank as their favorite. I was not surprised because apparently they have the same taste as I do!

The best ones perhaps are obvious; The Lord of the Rings sequels is on top because a lot of people are fond of these periodic/fantasy based stories. The book itself was a best seller so why shouldn’t the movie do the same? I don’t know if it was part of Oprah’s Book Club but that really went skyrocketing in the box office. The Return of the King was my favorite too because of that very nostalgic scene where the White Wizard went back for a vengeance on the kingdom. The entire king’s horses and all the king’s men were there not just for the magic and might; the story was grand and the execution of the movie from book to the silver screen was great. Obviously millions watched it already and the producers have earned a lot from it too. I bought several copies of that because some of my friends took mine, it’s that nice believe me! I too am part of its followers, not to mention the Harry Potter series as well. These are the top movies.

I don’t know about the popular tv shows on their list though because most of them are just not my type. To tell you the truth I love the show “Gilmore Girls”, not because of the fine women they have on the show but because they talk fast and they are all witty to begin with. Their lines are so effective and I can’t contain myself to try and learn how to talk the same way. If I had a syndicated show, it will probably be on that level. Some sort of a high IQ high verbal talk in everyday life would be nice. I still love the Simpson’s and Bart though which is part of that.

Heath Ledger just won best supporting actor a while ago, the Golden Globes is definitely right in doing so. His acting skill as the Joker was incomparable. I felt afraid with his character really; to think he already passed away when these were shown. That made huge waves across Hollywood and it was good critics did not fail to recognize it. The life he had and its ending was tragic. This particular recognition says what he is all in all and he’s not just one of those famous actors, he’s one of the best!

KUMAGCOW MOOOOVIE REVIEWS : DESPERADAS 2 (All we need is Love)

I had a blast last night when I went out with my friends to watch this Comedy film from the Metro Manila Film Festival called DESPERADAS 2 (All we need is Love). This is a sequel to the same film title last year which I watched with a different girlfriend lolz. It was nice to say at least becaus I was smiling at times and that's pretty hard to do in my books. Ruffa Gutierrez, Rufa Mae Quinto, Iza Calzado, Marian Rivera along with their fifth long-lost sister, Ogie Alcasid star in this very funny movie. I recommend you watch it!



Why you may ask?! I found it hilarious for one and you should never miss Ogie's role. That was the best! Ruffa (Isabella) is a non committing lady that tries a skin care business and made everybody else ugly. She was jailed in the last bit but bailed out by Ogie's character Luga Luda who is a princess of some filthy rich foreign island and kingdom in Africa. Rufa Mae (Patricia) had a rich boyfriend/politician that only made her into a bag lady for gambling/jueteng operations. The shopping was not that bad though... everybody enjoyed that in the movie. Iza (Stephanie) was a postpartum depression victim... after giving birth, she went to extremes of even trying to commit suicide in their front lawn. Eventually she was saved by a raindance by Ogie hahah. Marian (Courtney) is still a designer of underwear and bikinis that had a stalker and never got into bed with her husband because she said she was not prepared to have a baby. Ogie (Luga Luda) had a wonderful stint of having a boy of her own...her antics were just fun! I couldnt stop laughing in the massage scene. Poor boy got kissed a couple of times too hahaha. She had an unbreakable bond as half-sisters. The five are brought together by the love and affection they hold for each other.

All in all this was a nice movie. I don't watch Filipino Movies that much because they are somtimes predictable and too commercial. This was great considering they only landed on the 4th spot in the festival. If I were to judge they should have been second to Ang Tanging Ina nyong Lahat. ^_^ You should watch it since I gave it 4 KUMAGS out of FIVE.

Google Money Tree Legal Battle

I heard cyberspace crime has gotten more advanced these days but now even web masters fall victim to these people from a Google Money Tree scam which supposedly hailed from and advertising company called Hydra Affiliate Network. An innocent publisher of http://www.shoemoney.com just got his picture posted in major Internet websites and was claimed to have participated in such horrendous operations of the site without his knowledge. It was even posted in major websites such as ESPN, THE HUFFINGTON POST and FOX NEWS. The list just goes on and on but they never even stopped. I just smell a major lawsuit in his hands because I believe he has been wronged and marred of his credibility. I just hope the Gods and Goddesses of the Internet listens to this innocent man’s plea for justice on a complicated version of identity theft.

What if this happened to us? I wouldn’t handle it this well to tell you frankly. I know there are huge scams in the Internet and I don’t want to be part of it. Getting someone's picture without his permission is just wrong. You can invoke all the rights in the world as you would like but if your turn comes and your privacy is on the line, you should never settle with what they want. You need to continuously fight and they on the other hand need to pay for what they did wrong. We always get that short warning of copyrighted images in the search engines, why on earth don’t we just practice netiquette where it’s supposed to. That’s just not right!

Disbarment VS Alabang Boys Attorney Mulled

VACC is now taking action on this Alabang Boys Lawyer!

A disbarment case against 2 of the infamous Alabang Boys was filed in the Supreme Court. Attorney Felisberto Verano is now under heavy scrutiny. Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption's chair Dante Jimenez filed a letter complaint for disbarment versus the said lawyer.

His actions were said out of context of the code of conduct of Lawyers for fixing release papers of the said publicly villained Alabang Boys. They said these ways of Verano should be stopped immediately because the Law is nothing to be played with. He also was complained about using a government agency's letter head even if he is in private practive. Everything is attached to the complaint, now it's up to the courts to spank this bad boy if he is proven guilty.
