The Change I Need

Saturday, February 21, 2009

I have never gone to church for a couple of years. Yeah I know how silly it looks like but I have not done my obligation of going to church. It's bad I know and there are a couple of consequences that have happened because of this and I'm willing to take a huge turn because my Mom also talked me out of it.

Good things happen to good people so I need to learn a lot from my religion. I have been a Roman Catholic since birth so I would really have a shot a coming back. I need to talk about it every once in a while so I could at least keep sane from my busy work schedule. I need to also make friends with the same group of people that could get me through living devotion. I owe God a lot of things like my graduation, my family and my life so giving it back is just rightful to do. If you need someone to talk to there are Free Catholic Chat Rooms you can go to. At http://www.catholicchatcity.com you would not be a stranger anymore. Make sure you pay them a visit so you can meet people of the same faith. Remember that God Loves You.

Angel Locsin is Back!

After her ordeal with Dengue fever that made a lot of people worried, Angel Locsin comes back with a sexy dance in the recent trade launch of ABS-CBN. She also is seeking support on her upcoming telenovela that is going to be shot in Korea called Only You. It's a spin off on the famous Koreanovela that was shot in Europe a few years back. They are making this particular teleserye there because they need an Asian setting than a European one and the Spring is what they are looking for in that part of the world so I'm sure more people will watch this soap.

Maybe sometime soon when I get to see her I'll go hunting her for a picture. Then I'll share it with the rest of the world like I'm a stalker heheh.

New Projects for the Geek

I'm currently designing a VPN network for a local company that wants to get on line on everything they do. With the structure starting with 20 branches nationwide, they need to consolidate their accounting figures in real time and have their produce fresh when they need it. This is a tall order for me but after configuring these things for about 5 years, I can probably do this. This also means that we'll be setting up POS and ATM software but I'll have that sourced locally too.

I am thinking of getting a couple of routers that would be able to get us networked first. This would cost roughly about 24,000 pesos because the SOHO routers cost around that. Maybe in the first phase I'll be getting them to organize a shared resource then after that, have their software send the information and have it consolidate the earnings versus their supplies so they can have their products delivered on time. Since they are in the food business they need this to make things faster and easier to understand. It will make their ordering system more efficient since they plan to get bigger this year. Its a good thing I know vpn like the back of my hand. Hopefully I can get them to approve the budget I require to accomplish this. This would be a nice year for me too if that pushes through. Wish me luck!

CONGRATS naman! ^_^

T
he Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) and the Board of Nursing has released the Nursing Board Examination results and from the 88, 649 that took the exam last November 39, 455 lucky nurses have passed. Topping the list was Jovie Ann Alawas Decoyna from Baguio Central University that got a whopping 89% rating. Xavier University of Cagayan de Oro City was the top school this year that had more passing students because only 5 out of 341who took the board exam did not pass and got an average of 99% as their passing rate.

Oathtaking ceremonies of these new nurses will be slated on April 6 and 7 at SMX Convention Center SM Mall of Asia. Other schools and regional oath taking schedules will have their own at the Board of Nursing Website www.bonphilippines.org. Everyone at the College of Nursing and students of Baguio Central University were proud of Decoyna in this feat.Congratulations to my friend Leo who passed the exam as well, we are proud of yah!

Fare rate cuts will take effect on Monday

Friday, February 20, 2009

The public has been notified about the 50 centavo fare rate cut that will take effect on Monday. Commuters that take Jeepney rides around the metro will surely enjoy this perk that the transport groups and government worked on because of the diesel prices falling in the world market.

It has been a few months of price decrease in Diesel prices so it is rightful to do this. The ordinary consumer that normally pays 7.50 in a few kilometers will get their money's worth. This will also be taking effect in 2 other regions in Luzon because it includes regions 3 and 4.I hope it continues to go down until 75 centavos. Yeah, I remember that did happen once.

Aren't you glad?

Hope for the Country

I believe that someday, the economic woes in the US will end. With the stimulus plan of the US President already in place, there is greater hope that everyone would land a job soon. This in turn would promote consumer spending because people would already have money for their everyday needs. With the Dow Jones industrial average in its in more than six years, the sharp declines in key financial shares led the market lower and a couple of establishments are now affected. Even if they all rule over what goes out in the senate and congress, much work needs to be done at the market itself.

I applaud the US President for taking care of the long forgotten veterans. They have been given what's due them but its quite sad to know that some of them died already not seeing the benefits that they should have had protecting the sovereignty of their country. The US Ambassador to the Philippines also had the same resentment because the passage of this bill was a little late. How can we all talk about political matters without someone else stopping us from speaking freely? I'm quite happy to say that the Internet would be a better tool for this. If you want to let the world know anything about politics make sure you visit sites that promote free speech. Check out the political debate website http://www.arguewitheveryone.com/ and be heard!

American Idol 2009 First 3 Finalists

This girl performed nicely this round!
I watched this a while ago and I was not impressed with the other two guys but Alexis Grace was awesome. She had her own style and voice that is quite similar to Kelly Clarkson and I bet she's going to be a strong contender in this competition. Alexis Grace is a 21-year-old single mother from Memphis, Tennessee. I saw her parents sitting in the sidelines crying after she was announced as the first finalist.

Together with Alexis Grace was Michael Sarver, the full bodied 27-year-old oil rig worker from Jasper, Texas. I did not like his particular performance but he was voted still as one of the best. I mean a lot would have been better than him to tell you frankly like that Indian guy. In any case, they probably would come back for the wild card round come March 5 I guess. The rest of them would only be chosen through votes but all in all I was not impressed with their overall performance. The group was mediocre as far as I'm concerned.

More Than Just Cartoons

I've been a fan of Japanese cartoons since I was a kid. The likes of MAZINGER Z, VOLTRON, VOLTES 5, ASTROBOY, and a lot of other robots to that effect. If my mind serves me right then it never really left me. My inner OTAKUS stayed, and the list just got overwhelmingly longer.

Today, I still have in my possession a couple of tapes and a huge Video CD collection of Dragon Ball Z. With the likes of GOKOU, GOHAN, TRUNKS, VEGETTA, BULMA, BRAWLEY and other super non human villains filling up the story, I never cease to watch them even on re runs in free television. That's not also half of the list because I have some NARUTO and NARUTO SHIPPUDEN episodes that are still in the works. Talking about these things would only have normal people wonder how weird I am in some sense but like any fanatic I am dedicated to the art drawn from the orient. Japanese people in most cases have drawn them quite opposite with what their normal bodily features are. The big eyes, huge chests, the loud colors of every part of their body and costumes all astound viewers from all over the world. Getting together with people of the same interest is hard. You often have to go to ANIME conventions, COSPLAYS and costume parties to talk to someone that is on the same level of comprehension as we have. Not anymore, because we have an Anime Chat Room available for us at http://www.animechatcity.com. Join people from around the world and have your interests continue to grow with your own kind. Don't get left behind!

Electricity Rates Goin Up!

Hindi pa tapos ang pagtaas! This is not the end of it! Har har!

Aside from the delayed fare rollback for public utility vehicles, the bad news just comes rolling in. The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has recently approved the petition of National Power Corporation (Napocor) to raise rates for local electricity.

According to the ERC's decision, it has given due provisional authority for NAPOCOR to increase it's basic rates up to P0.47 per kilowatt hour for the whole area of Luzon, P1.15 per kilowatt hour in the Visayas and P0.71 for the Mindanao region. Because of this particular increase it would be a total of P4.36/kWh for the basic rates in Luzon, P4.03/kWh in Visayas and P2.82/kWh for Mindanao respectively. The power rate increase will be felt on the February 26 - March 25 billing period. Meralco consumers like us in Metro Manila will only have half of the increase because this region only have half of its supply with NAPOCOR. The other half are only from independent power producers, and I just wonder if they increase their rates in the same season too. That would just be bad!

Save A Lot from Coupons

I’ve seen a lot of people already using coupons to avail of huge discounts in department stores, cosmetics, groceries and even medicine. Like my Dad for example, he was supposed to buy some that would normally cost him a couple of thousand bucks for a 30 day period of medication. Good thing he had coupons that slashed about 50% off the original price that the doctor gave him, what a big discount!

I mean if this happened to all of us consumers then it wouldn’t be such a hard thing to purchase things even in this economic turmoil everybody’s getting into. I hope we also get the chance to have these things much like what is normally done in the US where basic necessities can be literally bought at a discounted price because of these coupons. Times are hard I know and getting this small change would benefit a lot of people who are in the same business as we are. It will hasten consumer spending which would make the US President’s plan to stimulate the economy a reality. Get Coupon codes & Promo Offers at Pricepickle.com now so you take advantage of the greatest deals money could buy.
