BILIB: Meet The Newest PPOP Boy Group from AQ Prime Music

Looks like AQ Prime Music is getting their hands wet in the PPOP scene with the newest and hottest boy group called BILIB. We met them at the recent media launch in Quezon City. Members Zio, Carlo, Rafael, RC, Yukito, Jmac and Clyde had us glued to our seat with their performance on stage. They're quite spirited dancers and no doubt, their vocals are quite effective. First impressions: they actually feel and look expensive and perhaps can battle existing PPOP boy groups in the entertainment scene today, but I think they've got something else in mind. They'd rather become part of the movement that would raise the PPOP scene we have internationally.  Tall order, but it was refreshing to hear that from these boys and their management as much of them have been inspired by the work of successful group SB19.

The group has been training for almost 2 years and as talked about during the event, it wasn't an easy thing to do especially because they had 7 individuals with different personalities that had to work together. Living under one roof to practice everyday got to where they are in terms of skills, but it also got them to grow even closer as friends, even as brothers today.

BILIB certainly has a lot to offer. Their recent music video was also amazing, one could say it has been really the handy work of several creatives to make sure they put out something good for the Filipinos and international audience that they plan to showcase this to. In the coming weeks, they also plan to put out the name of their fandom but wanted their fans to become part of the process of choosing it. 

That tells a lot about the process that these guys go through in making music, how to execute their plans for fashion, style and visuals (because they've been so good at it!). I hope they would be able to continue what they've shown us in the event in the upcoming performances they plan to do (I heard several guestings and a concert with other PPOP artists are in the works). So if you're raring to support them, make sure you follow AQ Prime Music's assets because BILIB is just starting. Imagine what they're going to be in the coming months, years, in their aim to inspire YOU with their dance and music!

YES MY LOVE Set to Perform in Singapore Today!

Seeing Niko, Joshua, RZ, Jeff,  Eli, and Brian from Cornerstone Entertainment's boy group "Yes My Love" must have been a dream for a few, but it certainly happened to me a few days ago. It was an intimate performance with only a few peers from media seeing their performance for the first time as they embark in a concert to be held in Singapore (today at 2PM, you can still get tickets at sistic.com.sg) at the Esplanade Recital Studio in the Merlion state. 

It's called SPECTACLE! which they will do together with other PPOP and SPOP groups namely Estelle Fly, Alfred Sun, BINI, BGYO and XOXO. For those who don't know, Yes My Love was just formed a few months ago comprised of the defunct members of TOP Class and a few artists they put together from Cornerstone Entertainment's pool of talents. I didn't have to research much on their legitimacy because as soon as they opened their pipes, I just said WOW, these guys can really sing! Plus the fact that they were doing it with a routine that has so much vigor, sexy vibes, reminiscent of RnB and boyband groups in the 90's, but still have that energetic technical prowess and moves you would see in PPOP which makes them quite different from their peers in the business. Here's a two part interview we did with them after their short program, I hope you get to know them even better after this!

Then we had a few naughty questions asked, something fans (143's which love them) would absolutely adore. 

I would like to take this bit and thank everyone at Cornerstone Entertainment for arranging this very intimate press conference so we'd be able to get to know the boys of YES MY LOVE. I can't wait to see them get the attention they deserve especially now that they have an international stint in happening in Singapore. BGYO Be The Light Debut

The last time I saw these guys was on stage, in Showtime. I was a bit curious who they were and how they were able to pull off such a technical driven performance. Their name? BGYO a 5 member Filipino boy group riding on the waves of up and coming artists and the whole P-POP industry. I must say, I may have not liked their styling that day, but their jaw performance, is on another level. I immediately knew after watching that song and dance number, I'm not going to be alone in asking WHO ARE THEY?

On their debut last week (January 29), I saw how these guys can sing, be on point with their moves and entertaining a whole generation of P-POP loving folks from around the world. Their training was not as easy because these guys underwent tons of workshops and sessions with trainers from South Korea and the best voice and choreography coaches in the Philippines. Not only that, because their debut event showcased Gelo, Akira, JL, Mikki and Nate's individual talents. They also showed how GOOD they look like when they perform together as BGYO which to me, looks very promising.

 

It was also touching to see them share their personal struggles, their stories, on how hard they have worked for this big break. Aside from the guys performing, they also heard from other artists of ABSCBN. They lauded the boys when they appeared in ASAP and other shows in the Kapamilya network. Just like me, they were astounded seeing them do things on stage and now they too are instant fans. Now I don't want to spoil things for those who have not seen the event, if you want to you still can do it.

I'm telling you, they definitely have good reason to put these guys together, and if they go international, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of girls would go gaga over them.

DUNKIN Presents GIVE IN TO SB19

We spent the afternoon marveling at how generous Dunkin’ is to have been able to put up a big concert at Araneta Coliseum with the most popular boy group in the Philippines today SB19. They’re no endorsers yet but they coined them presentors in a one of a kind show at the big dome. This is part of Dunkin’ Day where they show appreciation to their loyal customers by giving them free donuts and lotsa discounts on that day. Unfortunately, all of these will be moved to a later date but don’t fret with the postponement (amidst the COVID19 concern), they promise it will be a big one!

They call it GIVE IN TO SB19, a mix of entertainment numbers with Kpop and Ppop songs all performed by the boys. They trained under Korean entertainment company ShowBT and recently got the nod of International Billboard’s Next Big Sound Chart. Sejun, Stell, Ken, Josh and Justin would like you to be there, so make sure you got your tickets okay?! Oh and they also revealed vouchers for VIP seats were gone in 3 minutes!

ONE UP's Prince Clemente Goes Sexy for Boardwalk

ONE UP, GMA's home grown boy group has always been so nice to me and I adore them as individuals. They have been scouring provinces through shows, singing and dancing gigs which has occupied most of their schedules last 2018.

For those who don't know, the guys actually don't perform as a complete group sometimes as they are quite a lot. They love singing so in a way they can hold their own horse if they need to perform individually. No, they won't be breaking up soon but Prince Clemente got a big break as he does the underwear line for Boardwalk, so this would be something more matured than usual. As he mentions this wouldn't be a success that he wouldn't be sharing with his group because they will all be part of the Boardwalk family once again this year as they go around the country with their special campaigns and tours. They are all excited about it so listen in to our interview with the boy group.

Suffice to say, he has it!

OneUp Releases Smile on Digital Stores

Maybe, just maybe, you’ll love these guys even more.

If you’ve loved how GMA’s premier boyband OneUp has shown over the past year, they’ve just released their first single called this month called “SMILE” on digital stores worldwide. 10 guys from different walks of life, different talent shows from the Kapuso network went together and formed a group to the delight of their fans and made covers, spectacular shows and now is whipping up their own music. OneUp is composed of Jay Arcilla, Nikki Co, Brent Valdez, Joe Marie Nielsen, Arjan Jimenez, Kevin Sagra, Ralf King, Dave Bornea and Yasser Marta.

During a blog conference a few days ago, they were proudly wearing their badges as they see this as an accomplishment. They have been working hard performing in shows in and outside Manila, rehearsed for hours and tried to find the best song that would represent their group as they knew their debut was eagerly coming.

Yasser says “We focused on bonding first and did the work on our stage performance before we released this. We knew we had to work on our material. While we were a little not too busy we did that first, then some side projects so we really didn’t run out of work. We have songs that we do on gigs and we all work on it.”

Dave Bornea adds “Our single is composed by Kiko Salazar. It’s about someome reminiscing their loved one, the one that makes them smile. It was launched during the New Year’s celebration, and we’re about to also release the music video for it this month and we hope you would get it in music stores, digital sites worldwide.

Jay Arcilla says “Smile is intended for teens who are experiencing their first love. Our music video is also directed by Miggy Tanchangco, which will be released by the end of this month.”
