RACKS Launches Smoked Chipotle Ribs

Tuesday, September 26, 2017

I love racks a lot because of their mouthwatering smoky and savory ribs. It's a staple whenever I drop by their big branch here in Timog Avenue and I usually have it with a whole brick of Onion Rings which happens quite often in every visit I make, but I guess there had to be new things on the menu.

This is the new RACKS Smoked Chipotle Ribs. It's a next level smokiness, it's a next level spice, one that makes these fall off the bone meat vessels an even better dish for those who want it a little more feistier than ever. Think of those chilies and how it's smoky intense flavor would permeate inside the meat and provide that extra kick you've always dreamed of even without the sauce that RACKS is known for. For an even greater, finger licking lunch or dinner, the Chipotle Barbecue sauce would definitely prove you that it's going to be better, so smother it all over!

Thing is, it's only going to be available for a limited time. You should defintely visit the nearest RACKS branch from today until November 5, 2017. I could imagine how much you want your lips to burn and experience this HOT and SMOKY version now. I'm trying it later at the RACKS Timog Branch, so see you!

Fall in Love with TABASCO

Wednesday, October 26, 2016

Who loves Tabasco? I know I do!

I'm not a connoisseur nor a pretender but if you talk about spicy stuff, I know a LOT from experience. In spice tolerance, I could take it up until normal people won't be able to actually have. My personal favorite is the Red Tabasco Pepper sauce and I've had adventures with it in the office, at home or sometimes the restaurants I review too. Don't look at me like I'm weird but I do carry a bottle of it when I can, and I also know a handful people who do.

This evening, I had dinner with a couple of special people in TABASCO's hot heart. It was intimate, very experiential and I learned a lo how they grow the peppers they use for the brew. They also age this for about 3 years and they had us compare how it actually tastes like over time. Well not everyone was keen on doing so because it is HOT and when we did attempt to taste it, they gave us these lovely spoon necklaces as mementos after taking the challenge. I'm wearing this proud!

Tabasco is irreplaceable. You can try hot sauce, or sriracha, but it really is so different from this. Thank you TABASCO for having us yesterday! Falling in love with you again was just so right.

Wingstop Outs New Asian Chicken Flavors!

Sunday, November 15, 2015

It's my personal favorite chicken wing place and I love how they continue to innovate when it comes to flavors. Not only that, they've got the Asian twice fried chicken wings (I think) already on their menu. This is where they think East Meets Flavor and we tried them out a few days ago in their Glorietta 2 branch. I already love the existing 10 spicy and savory flavors, so this addition to the menu was a welcome sight. Now, they've come out with flavors that are only released in the Philippines catering to the Filipino palate and isn't found anywhere else but here!

The Honey Barbecue tasted really good. Aside from the extra crunchy exterior of the chicken, I think this one tasted like hickory but a tad sweeter since pinoys actually love that. Good news is that Wingstop has Chipotle Rice available now so if just eating wings isn't enough for you, go ahead and have 2 servings of rice so you can fill up!

The Spicy Soy in my books is the second hottest wing they have on the menu. If my hunch is correct, they've got the chicken covered in sweet dark soy then added the same pepper spice they use with the Atomic flavor which they originally have on the menu. It's like East Meets the HOT west, and it works!

For the garlic lovers, this one's called Honey Garlic. You still have that lovely sweet flavor but with an intense garlic kick. It reminded me of a sweet adobo without the tang. Quite nice actually.

This was voted best with the people I was dining with at that time. I think they liked it because it was light but still have that sweet salty soy flavor. This is after all called Korean Soy, which in my books tasted real good. Can't compare it with the popular brand though because they only serve wing parts. I bet this might give them (other Korean chicken brands) a run for their money.

Oh and if that ain't enough, Wingstop also has other things on the menu. The Loaded Nachos, The Loaded Fries, the fried Taro Chips, and my favorite Onion Rings. Make sure you eat them while it's hot! Everything in Wingstop of course is freshly cooked when you order. Now that you've got Asian Wings added, you've got more choices when you dine in a Wingstop branch near you.

By the way, I always frequent their branch in Glorietta 2, Greenhills, Trinoma. but they have other branches in Bonifacio Stop Over.

Kogi Bulgogi Fun Meet and KPOP Chicken!

Monday, April 28, 2014

My love affair with Kogi Bulgogi started way before they knew me. Each time I go to a lunch break or dinner, I would immediately think of them as first on the list. The thing I love the most is their Dolsot Bibimbap and I just jazz it up by putting more chili sauce because I love it super spicy. Aside from that, I also order a family size Kimchi Salad so it would present a cold contrast to the hot bibimbap. I get goosebumps just thinking about it. As far as I know, it's the best Bibimbap in town and price wise, it's reasonable so there is no contest on this. We also went here for the Kogi Fun Meet which they hold I think on a regular basis, so follow them on Facebook if you want to join that.

Then we had lunch served!

The California Roll is good and filling. They make this fresh and only serve it while you order. There are other good items on the menu that are worthy of praise but this one's good.

This is Pa Jun or Korean Scallion Pancakes. It is more savory than eggy. I guess that is the effect of the scallions on the pancake. It's smell permeates throughout the egg and it would be a really great thing to eat for starters. We had more things ordered but this next one is free!

Korean Banchan are starters to any meal in Korea. It is also served every time you order a meal in Kogi Bulgogi. They are keeping it authentic unlike some restaurants that would probably charge you a fee just for this. I love the anchovies and of course the hot kimchi!

All time favorite Japchae! You can't leave Kogi Bulgogi without ordering this from he menu. Word of advice though is to eat this while it's hot. It tends to stick to each other when it gets cold but nonetheless it's absolutely good and tasty!

The piece de resistance, this is Kogi Bulgogi's KPOP Chicken. It's their answer to the latest Korean chicken craze. It's a household favorite in Korea which they commonly call as Yangnyeom. This is their KPOP Chicken Sweet Soy Flavor. It's not too salty, crispy but must be eaten while its hot. It is the favorite of the kids. For those who doesn't want it to be too spicy, please order this version of KPOP Chicken! It's available in 4, 6 or 8 pcs.

My favorite is the Kogi Bulgogi KPOP Chicken in Spicy Soy. I love the wings dipped in this spicy sauce and it's so good if you pair it with the hot Kimchi Rice which I think is only found in this restaurant. I can't wait to try it again so I'll go back this weekend just for the KPOP Chicken goodness I've been craving for!

Plus I love the Banana Ice Cream which totally beats the heat!

As for me, I still love Kogi Bulgogi front and end. They even have me immortalized in the shelves of Kogi Bulgogi in Gateway Mall in Quezon City. Whatever it is they are serving from these restaurants, I love the food, I love the shots of Lemon Soju, I love the Bibimbap and the new KPOP Chicken. They are making everything interesting and I will surely go back for more. Need I say more?!
