McJim's Dreams Get Real Season 2

It was powerful, surprising, ultimately amazing to see the finalists of Dreams Get Real Season 2. It's the second installment of the successful Dreams Get Real campaign that popular leather products company McJim has launched since last year in the aims of discovering a new breed of talents and making their dreams of performing come true. The prize include Php 100,000, a talent managment contract, a full album and even a whole production of their music video.

In the end it was the vocal prowess and experience of Apple Deleva that got her to win the contest. She's already got several contests locally and won an international competition too. We saw her crying on stage while she was getting hounded by the press because she says "I don't want to join contests anymore because it's really hard for me and my family. It's not a joke, I hope winning this competition will now make my professional career as a singer take flight and hopefully make my dreams come true."

She's got a lot on her plate now and perhaps the prize money, the management contract, the video grant and the album she won from this particular contest will get her places just like the previous ones who also won in this competition. She might just be your next OPM star, and think about it... she's just starting!

McJim Announces Newest Endorser Anton Del Rosario

One of the most reputable brands of leather goods and accessories McJim finally came out and announced their latest endorser Mr. Anton Del Rosario of the Philippine Azkals. This American born Filipino football player has continually inspiring sports lovers and their fans to be the best they can be no matter what field or endeavor they choose. Having been able to play for the national team for years, he says it's but an honor to have been chosen to represent the brand. His good looks, great body and classy exterior  no matter what events I found him in makes him even KUMAGCOW approved. He's a little soft spoken but very well dressed. I guess that part is a no brainer for McJim.

Anton also tried out the products himself. He was expecting nothing spectacular since it's a local brand. Knowing how some unscrupulous manufacturers in the Philippines work he probably thought it was okay to expect less. The belts alone made him think otherwise. He couldn't believe how much care and attention to detail was put into each of these pieces. McJim presented him with stylish, great quality leather goods that is world class. It's something very surprising to have in the local market, good thing I already know that because I've been using McJim for years now.

Dreams Get Real Talent Search Will Hold Weekly Eliminations In SM Malls

Remember my article here? Well, they just informed me that they will hold the official weekly eliminations in SM Malls. It will start this March in various in Metro Manila, Southern Luzon, and Central Luzon.

The weekly elimination rounds are scheduled to run on SM Center Las Pinas Event Center on March 2, SM City Masinag Mall Atrium on March 9, SM City Clark on March 16, SM City Calamba Event Center on March 23 and SM Manila on March 30. Various students from colleges and universities will have to churn out the best kind of music in order to win and advance to the next round.

Remember, the grand champion of the Dreams Get Real talent search will receive a cash prize worth P50,000 from McJim Classic Leather. They will also have a full recording and management contract plus a grant to record a single and release their own music video. The Dreams Get Real competition accepts all male solo, duo, band, or group music acts composed of students that are 15 to 25 years old currently enrolled from any college or university. They also must make sure that they are not under any recording or management contract so they can get in. Dreams Get Real with McJim Classic Leather!

Oh yes you read that right! Isn't that great news?! McJim Classic Leather is going to make your dreams come true by calling off college/university level male aspirants ages 15 to 22 years old whether solo, duo or group to win recording contracts, release their own single, music video and win big cash prizes.

Make sure that Group acts who aspire to join must have a maximum of five members; which can also include female members - but where majority of must be male. They also need to be of Filipino lineage and currently enrolled. 

A demo CD recording of their performance of an original song plus printed copies of the song’s lyrics is needed. They must also submit the complete set of required documents including:

1.) The completed application form

2.) A photocopy of their birth certificates

3.) Proof of current enrolment (i.e. valid ID or registration form); and one colored picture saved in a CD.

Remember: Failure to submit these documents and/or the CD recording and the printed lyrics is needed, otherwise it will signify an applicant's disqualification. So make sure you follow the instructions to a T.

To get to the finals, representatives from McJim Classic Leather, event organizers and a respected panel of judges from the music industry will evaluate entries and pick 50 contestants that will battle in five weekly elimination rounds. After the grueling eliminations, 12 of them will be judged via the criteria of Star quality, Quality of the original song, Voice quality and Audience impact. So make sure you keep this in mind when you submit an entry. The 12 will be also filmed performing their originals and will be posted on the McJim Classic Leather TV Get Real YouTube channel. The 3 most viewed videos on the channel by May 30, 2014 at exactly 12 noon and three more chosen by contest organizers and McJim Classic Leather representatives will the opportunity to professionally record their originals via Sonic State Studio (the arranger and recording studio behind Artists Gloc 9, Abra, Orange and Lemons, Kamikaze, Silent Sanctuary, and 1:43, to name a few) and these songs will be released as singles in radio stations nationwide. Isn't that a dream come true?

On June 15, 2014, all six finalists will compete for the title. Winner of this contest will take home P50, 000 in cash plus a recording and management contract and a grant to create the official music video of a single, whilst second place wins P25, 000 in cash and a trophy and third place will win P15, 000 in cash and a trophy. But don't fret because all of the 12 semi-finalists will receive P10,000 worth of McJim Classic Leather products so nobody goes home without something good :)

Classic Industrial Designed Watches by SEVENFRIDAY

Our wine glasses were filled and everyone was in a very festive mood when the launch for SevenFriday happened in BGC a few days ago. This brand is rarely new if compared with the others but it has well made it's mark into the international market because of impeccable craftsmanship that the Swiss is known for.

It's the first time that this brand has set foot in Manila and I've seen some of their pieces on display. Men would love something like this. First, it ain't too glittery from diamonds or precious stones. I love the exposed machinery as well, what am I talking about you say? Take a look at these timepieces!

Now with time pieces like these, I'm sure you're kinda off put with the fact that it doesn't look old. I think it's more intended for young professionals who have quite achieved something in life and would want to have it be as a reward for himself. I can't blame why collectors have picked up these watches already because it's really classy. The materials vary on each one and you can tell artisans have spent a lot of time making it.

You can even see how precious the details are when you check the one on the left. It's got a case made of stainless steel, a vertical brushed finish, you can choose between Silver / rhodium and black interior that's finished circular, brushed and diamond cut on 11 applied parts. It also has a separate disc for 24H indication and second functions.

Other pieces are extremely special like this one that's got WOOD parts on it. This is no joke. On the contrary I've never seen anything like it. This definitely solves that problem of making a modern designed timepiece a classic and timeless one. I can imagine this being handed over to the next generation. Impressive and I can't wait until major stores, malls and their own properties come out with even better designs in the future. It's surely something to enjoy because it'll make your everyday a FRIDAY... who doesn't want to enjoy life anyway!

The PEDRO Fall/Winter Collection 2013

I've been following this brand for quite some time now. Believe me, I've been looking on their shelves a lot and only manage to purchase one pair which I've been able to keep on my closet for a long time. I treasure it a lot; and I've been so blessed lately that I got to cover their Fall-Winter show last week. I've been drooling on the pieces they showed on the runway since then. I have got to get this out and tell you more about the brand PEDRO. They've got one of the most sophisticated lines of Men's and Women's Footwear plus an undoubtedly world class collection of Accessories. This season, they've got it all out in the open and gave Tim Gunn a new meaning on how to "Make it Work!"

There were celebrities of course like famed DJ Mia Ayesa, Male Supermodels and Benchsetters Vince Ferraren and Anthony Semerad, the one and only Ms. Kuh Ledesma and Ms. Daphne Osena-Paez whom I wasn't able to get a photo T_T. Suyen Corporation Executives were there too. Then they started the show!



Of course they had to show the Fall/Winter collection. I'm seeing stripes, relaxed cardigans, coats and oh so awesome shoes! Can I have all of these in size 12? =)

You can me smart casual, suited up, or wearing shorts, just as long as you have PEDRO in your wardrobe and shoes, you can't go wrong!

Cool and comfy coats, sweaters, crisp white shirt won't look bad with classic boat shoes that PEDRO has. It's fun, easy to wear and quite a lot of fun. Nothing fancy, but really stayed classy.

A combo of jeans, cardigan and jackets don't matter too as long as you have suede or faux leather shoes in different colors to match.

Don't be afraid of earth tones because it will only make your assets pop. If you are fair it will be even way better since it'll be cooler to the eyes. Don't be afraid to wear something urban, something of color and texture too!

Then it was time for the gorgeous ladies!

This time they went for intense colors, clean lines and shoes of different heights. Key pieces here are the skirt, the dress and the small clutch. It's way pretty!

Form fitting but still clean lines. I love what the model on the left is wearing. She's Elite Manila's Luane Pasinatto. Pretty no? It reminds me of ladies partying on a yacht; or something to that effect.

Key pieces: The blazer and this awesome print on the pants. It's urban yet they mix and match patters and fabrics. That looks awesome in my books!

I like the fancy shoes! =) Real men wear Fuchsia Pink laces! LOL This is so much fun!

Just by looking at it, they are executing their theme for this season. It's what they call URBAN MODERNISM. We've got layers, textures and colors but mostly on the earth tones. Even if they are structured they still have different fabrics in them so the feel is totally unconventional.

For those who crave for sophisticated independence and want to still exude the feminine silhouette, you can suit up with PEDRO and play along with their blue, green, red and black palettes. Their edgy stilletto pumps that are intricately accessorized and embelished with metals, stones, fabric can ultimately spell your look for this coming season. Bags, clutches that would look so perfect with your outfit are also gonna be out soon.

Men on the other hand need not despair. The versatility and character of the classic browns, maroons, deep blue, cool greys, purple, green and orange hues would be your muse if you want to find balance, sleekness and cleaner lines which is a must this holiday season.
