Better Tougher Phones, Wearables at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025

We took a trip to Rockwell as Samsung showed us the GALAXY Packed event streamed all the way from Brooklyn New York. It felt so festive as the folks from Samsung unveiled their newest phones, wearables and more!

Joseph Aruta the Product Marketing Head for Mobile Experience in Samsung Philippines said in front of the stage "Tonight we will find out the improvements in the Galaxy Z series, see ultra features, brand new camera, the Galaxy Z Fold, Galaxy Watch series that fit your lifestyle."

They discussed the promise of evolving AI into something that can be used by all, with privacy and security also in it's core. They've got products with new form factors, wearables that are not just limited to wrists, something that can be used in everyday lives. They then released the new Galaxy Z Fold which by the looks of it, is thinner and lighter. It is also built more powerful than it's predecessors. 

It's AI is different because it understands context on its features. Since folks are asking for a bigger screen, more powerful battery, and still have it slim and light, they launched these handsets with that in mind. This is their thinnest yet, but they started improvements with the hinge. This opens wider and they were able to strengthen its layers. They restructured it, designed for all day use. The phone now has a pro grade camera, it's got a 200MP lens but thinner. No, wildly thin! It matters because you have to fold it, you can't fit it on your pocket if it's big, makes sense? 

They also inserted the best processor in the market, with an Android 16 based OS, an object eraser, updated NOW bar, updated multitasking functions which makes this something that you would like. They also now have the One UI 8, so you get Multimodality, which we mentioned that understands content on your phone. It's a shift on how to interact with technology and bring them to life. 

With the phone more personalized, it can also brief you about your day. It let's you see a context of what you will do for the day. It also makes smarter suggestions because of it. I also like circle to search, something that they developed thanks to their partnership with Google. Also a more useful Google Gemini for so many things you can do in a smart home. The device also has 38 percent more faster CPU, 41 percent faster NPU and 26 percent faster GPU, a 200 megapixel wide camera, so you get clearer images, unmatched clarity. It has a native video editor, can erase noise with "Audio Eraser" which can detect 6 different audio levels. At 20:18 it is pretty huge on display, costs 1,999 USD which I think it's worth it. 

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 has a 21:9 aspect ratio, has 8 more hours of video playback. It is also thinner, has armor flex hinge that can stay tough on impact. The 4:1 display outside and 120hz refresh rate, One UI 8 works wonders on this new phone. It also has games on the flex window. You can access your selected apps quick, and scroll for other content. It also has Gemini, and can use the camera to talk with it without opening the actual Flip phone.

The Galaxy Watch 8 on the other hand can read key health measures, designed for active folks, it looks good on the outside. It can also monitor your sleep, see if it affects your performance, plus those recovery periods will get measured. It'll make a big difference when you're monitoring your overall health!

Samsung Launches A33 and A53 5G

Just got off the much awaited GALAXY A event of Samsung. They launched A33 and A53 5G.

Incredible displays is the name of the game, having it more accessible for more consumers. It provides smooth videos, warmer light, with stereo speakers that makes sound rich, louder and better. It's also got brighter screens, less glare, so you can see even in brighter light conditions. Both phones have 4 cameras, produce high quality photos and videos. This is best for creators, with enhanced portrait modes and AI, easy to emphasize your subject prior to posting. It also captures smooth video, catches dynamic subjects with its VDIS technology.

The Night Mode is further improved, use AI to lessen noise and blur. It also has AI to identify objects that should be erased, using enhanced CPU, GPU, additional virtual RAM for various processes for your phone. It's got long lasting battery life, more power for the things you need to do. Add to that long list of features is its capability to be not bothered by water/getting wet.

The latest Galaxy A series pushes the limits of your imagination. Wide, Depth of Field, taking Portraits would be a cinch for the two phones. You can also edit before posting on your social channels. The Galaxy A33 and A53 5G will have AI employed on cameras, optimal light absorption even as conditions change. You can also delete objects from a shot, play around with the photos, sync them even while you're working on the file so you don't lose what you share... while maintaining control over it through sharing files. The Galaxy open system brings you closer, keeps you connected with Galaxy technology. The 5G connection also gives you faster upload and download rates, keeps you productive. The same goes with Galaxy buds that give you auto switch between devices, easy to share audio too with friends. Buds Together also make you listen to the same audio so you don't have the share the same pair. The A53 and A33 is water and dust resistant (IP67), also convenient to travel light as Samsung Wallet comes integrated. The battery lasts almost 2 days so you have convenience without having to charge. The buds can also be detected through apps, so if you lost it you'll get it and have it beep. Privacy is also on top, with the dashboard, it will show everything that uses data. Powerful tech that lasts.

Prime software and hardware, all in Samsung. Wouldn't that make you want one? The New Impressive Samsung Galaxy A22

I've had the chance to actually use this new addition to the Galaxy A series, it's the Samsung Galaxy A22. Made for tho/se who are into content creation, this is equipped with a powerful camera that gets quality in fun and colorful ways. In the Philippines, available colors like Black, White, Mint and Violet colors. The one I got to use for a few days was Black and I actually like how it looks.

You can say it's photo and video centric because it's got Quad cameras on the back, wherein the main one has 48MP, 8MP for the ultra wide lens, and 2MP for the others like Macro and Depth of Field lens. Now if you're usually with shaky hands, you utilize the Optical Image Stabilizer so your viewers won't feel dizzy watching your YouTube videos. The A22 is also smart, it uses intelligent AI camera experience so scenes are identified right away just by merely pointing at a subject. For dark or low light scenes, the Night Mode would help not just to see the images, but to capture stable shots so you get awesome photos. The phone's scene optimizer automatically adjusts the levels of brightness, contrast, white balance and other elements of the images. If you prefer, you can also edit it according to filters available in the phone (and adjust it to your liking).

Viewing movies, KDrama and just about any game with its Super AMOLED Display will surely be an amazing experience and possibly, you'll appreciate the 90Hz refresh rate that it can do when you play moba or FPS games on mobile. This phone also has Eye Comfort shield that lessens blue light that won't be comfy in the eyes especially in the evenings.

Your imagination would surely be the only limit with this phone, it ain't that expensive either at Php 11,990. You can get it in Samsung online or Experience Stores nationwide. There's also available promos which you can take advantage of, you'll get it after purchasing the smartphone and registering as a Samsung Member. There are also flexible terms at 0%, just head to the store and ask for it. This phone also lasted me quite a few days before I had to connect it to a charger with regular social use. The 5000mAh battery does that, and it charges fast because of the 15W capability. Don't say I didn't tell you about it. Oh and yes, the Galaxy A22 5G version is Php 13,990, a few thousand bucks difference ain't bad no?

SAMSUNG Launches the Galaxy A72, A52, A52 5G and A32

Finally, we could now say that the SAMSUNG Galaxy A72, A52 5G, A52 and A32 is here in the Philippines!

The Galaxy A series definitely gives powerful innovation for less the price and it's been a hit in the Philippine market for several years. I've seen my friends use it, even I succumbed to actually having it. The latest ones are equipped with even more powerful cameras that can do so much whether you are into photos or videos. It's like a dream phone for content creators and those who are frequently utilizing social media because it can shoot and edit them all, without going overboard with the money you spent for it. 

 

 

These new phones promise not only the great camera, but smoother display, splash and water resistance, and a long lasting battery life for starters. They also carry Super AMOLED screen displays with 120Hz refresh rates, which means you would look at the screen differently as it becomes a hell of a lot smoother than before. Design wise, its build gets lesser fingerprint or scratch magnets and made it tougher for regular use. You can also now listen to music together with Buds Together technology and Music Share functions on your phone. 

This is mighty without the chance of damage against the elements as it is water and dust resistant, officially carrying an IP67 rating. It can survive being submerged under a meter of water for 30 minutes. As for after sales care, you can also avail Samsung Care +7 so you could get peace of mind against damages, breakdowns, theft and loss. The A52's have a 4,500 mAh batteries, while the A72 has an even bigger 5000 mAh. If you fancy a faster 5G capable phone, get the A52 5G model as it gets speed you've never had before. Aside from that, they've got some pretty good memory on these phones which you can even stretch further up to 1TB. Video taking in 4K with it then makes more sense, plus the speakers on them are quite good.

 

 By the way, the Galaxy A32 (which will be released at a later date) has a 6.4 inch FHD sAMOLED Infinity U 90Hz screen and the MediaTek Helio G 80 Processor. It's also got an 8+128GB memory and Quad rear cameras composed of a 64MP AF lens, 8MP Ultra Wide, 5MP for depth of field and 5MP for Macro shots. The front camera is a 20MP one, so selfie quality is not lagging behind!

I was just at home looking at photos on Instagram when they announced the launch of Samsung Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge. I'm not much of an Android fan but there are a few phones that I really like. I don't like Samsung that much but judging from the photos I've seen in the past few days (some tech bloggers were using them) they really had good ones even if it's unedited. Well, if that is your type of phone, and if it's got a bunch of other features then you must know where to get one fast. Samsung Releases Galaxy A Series (A7, A5 and A3)

Yesterday was a fine time to see new things at Samsung's realm. They just launched the new Samsung Galaxy A Series over dinner at SM Aura last night. I must say, people know me being an Apple Fanboy but during this evening, I couldn't help but marvel at the new mid range priced phones that they're releasing this January. Yes, they're starting the year with pretty dressed up handsets that would be perfect for those who want a more stylish, metal clad but still fine and dandy.

Glistening on my table were these three models, the Samsung Galaxy A7, the Samsung Galaxy A5 and the Samsung Galaxy A3. You're probably not going to see these guys in different articles that much because they have rarely - slight differences. Obviously these are intended for the younger crowd as they delved more into mobile phones that could actually take decent selfies, but on the looks department you could say this is "modern" and "stylish".

Samsung also promises a better, fuller social media experience with these first of a kind, full metal bodied, slim designed superior hardware that would work extremely gorgeous with the ladies and for men that are more "fashion forward". If you are not that impressed with the looks of the S5 and Note 4, this would definitely satisfy you a bit more. I've heard they're coming out with the normal black and white version, plus a snazzy Champagne Gold in the Philippines. When held, it's not so bulky as it goes around 6.3mm for the A7, 6.7mm for the A5 and 6.9mm for the A7. Screen size is 5.5 inches for the A7, 5 inches for the A5 and 4.5 for the A3. 

I don't want to sound too commercial but I'll say it felt like a naked iPhone 5S which I'd been carrying around that time - but then there's a huge price difference there somewhere. The buttons are different, the effects too, though I'm also loving the cameras in these phones. The A3 and A5 has 5 MP front cameras, and 13MP rear ones. Though you may want to also favor the bigger A7 as the A3 and A5 has a 1.2 GHz quadcore Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor whilst the A7 has 64-bit Snapdragon 615 chipset with octacore processor at 1.5GHz in it. The price difference here looks a bit huge but if want to shell out more, I'd rather stick with the A5 as the A7 might need huge hands to least get a grip of it. I'd almost consider it a phablet if that would spur your imagination. It's a very good phone for the younger ones and I'd rather get this than the other handsets which look pretty plain on the shelves. The metal finish had me almost sold but you have to live Android to get the full pleasure of having it.

  

So in a nutshell, if you want a phone with a decent camera, metal finish, slim, not too bulky, plus it's got awesome beauty effects that we played around with that evening. This is a chinky eyed Asian's dream because it's got the ability to widen the eyes like this! FUN! 

If you're out in the hunt for a new phone that's not ordinary, some bling, cheaper than iPhone and built with Android OS, take a good look at your budget and see if the Samsung Galaxy A Series would be something you would consider. It's priced at Php 24,990, Php 19,990 and Php 16,990. I know I would!

The Samsung Galaxy K Zoom Launch

If you had money to burn and wanted a gadget that would better fit your phone and photography needs, you might want to look at Samsung's newest called the Galaxy K Zoom. It's got this 4.8 inch long and 1280 x 720 AMOLED screen (which looked so impressive and colorful at this pod) powered by an Android 4.4 Kitkat OS, a 20.7 Megapixel camera, a 10x optical zoom, 2GB ram and a 2430 mAh battery which would last quite a while. This is more of a phone rather than a digital camera but the convenience of having both gadgets in one is just convenient.

In the event, they did lend us a few units so we can see how it fares with regular smart phones. It did give us a significant amount of excitement because the market they probably want to sell this to is us bloggers and IT media; who's involvement in social media is just natural, fast and has got a huge turnover. You'll get rid of the trouble editing, posting and updating information on channels because everything's there. The picture quality, honestly I had a debate running on my table because we had many qualms on having it qualify as a full blown camera which it isn't. In comparison, this is still digital zoom and it isn't using mirrors which DSLR's usually do. For the output, it does give really good photos and the effects embedded on the phone is something to be really proud of. Samsung has gotten pro suggestive filters and effects enabled on the menu and a half press on the clicker.

Mr. Eric Sulit, Head of Samsung Philippines Digital Imaging says that you can't beat the convenience of the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom because you don't have to lug around huge DSLR's anymore during coverages. It also has the Geo News Feature which is sent to all similar Samsung devices. My friend even showed me his GEO NEWS Message that he received containing details of the recent earthquake which happened the day before this event. He also mentioned he received it minutes from when it happened, that's a pretty useful thing to have so you wouldn't be second guessing news on Twitter. 

It was raining hard and we had fog all over 71 Gramercy  on that day but they asked us to shoot using the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom using its features. We did good and I must say, the thing is easy to understand and use even if I'm not an Android lover.

The colors can also be retouched and the possibilities of making your photo be "what you want it to be" is endless. That's something you can't really get with just an ordinary phone. Now it's more powerful and can do a wide variety of applications even if it's this small. I couldn't even say it's bulky because you need that lens for the shots you need to take. Battery wise, I think it could last you the whole day or even more because your Android can opt to choose power saving modes on it. For those who want to get a phone and a worthy camera, this is perfect. See? We even uploaded the photos on the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom via Instagram. It retails for almost 25K in the Philippines. Make sure to test it out first through vendors nationwide!

The Philippine Launch of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 + Gear

Honestly, I haven't been to a Samsung phone event so I wasn't really expecting anything new for an android phone. Being an admitted Apple fantard, I always had that hunch that it wasn't going to be good just because the plat for doesn't work for me or shall I say, it doesn't really impress me that much. I was in shock when Samsung had released new concepts on display technology and have seen quite remarkable advancements on their line since the first release of the Note. This even marks the release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 + Samsung Gear. These pair of gadgets would astound you in so many levels since it impressed me too when we got to see it a few days ago in SM Aura Premier. Let's take a look!

One of ABSCBN's finest Atom Araullo hosted the show. An admitted techie, he says this day would be full of surprises as Samsung launches the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Samsung Galaxy Gear. 

Samsung's Executives and product managers Coco Domingo and Adriene Rivera went up on front and told us some key improvements on this handset and really rad new features.

There was this one time when they asked 5 people to come up on stage and use the new Samsung Galaxy Note 3. They paired them up and synced the units. They placed them together in a line as indicated by the number appearing on the screen. Then after that... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 poof!

It's your very own wide screen MOVIE on display! Everyone was shocked that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 could actually do such a thing!

Then they asked Shaira Luna, the country's smartest girl to call on the phone so he could answer it on the Galaxy Gear. The phone rang but didn't get the display he wanted on the watch like thing. They tried the second time on her instead.

You don't have to go to your phone when you want to check a text message. A single swipe on this baby can get your calls answered and your messages read in a few seconds. Isn't that amazing? The video on this SUPER AMOLED display is so crisp and clear too! They also showed how the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 uses just three shapes for easy navigation. The square, the circle and the dot. That part was ingenious!

Then after a few minutes, models came out with the phones in their hand. How can I miss that part?

Pretty good looking hardware if you ask me wouldn't be complete without Samsung's own set of features powered by Android OS. This comes with limitless ways of customizing your phone's menu too. Pegged at 36,900, it won't come cheap of course but you can take advantage of their promo when it comes to stores soon. The Galaxy Gear by the way comes with a camera for you geeks out there who want to spy on someone just by looking at your wrist. It retails for 13,990 in a variety of colors.

Fore more protection, these Flip Covers are affordable at around Php 1,699.00. Try to visit their stores nationwide and see if they still have their devices up for sale.
