We Can Be Heroes: #DevantxAvengers Event

Guy posing with superheroes not me. I am not worthy yet but I will be, soon! -kumagcow

Have you ever dreamed of becoming a super hero?

I know I did. I've donned countless costumes, flied around and fell many times over, thrown shurikens, drawn swords, and imagined laser beams coming out of my eyes often. It was something a normal kid would do. Although I'm not in that age bracket anymore, I still do it today. You can call me a freak anytime, you can call me different, but for me, I feel special. It's something that I've always want to be, and I'll still dream of that until I become a real super hero one day.  I know it will come true.

Devan'ts ULTRAHD TV, impressive!

I've been rearing to see Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron since they've started talking about it. Good thing our friends from DEVANT invited us last April 23 to see one of the most awaited films this summer. DEVANT partnered with Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron to finally see what great things these heroes have that are also present in DEVANT’s newest TV Collection. It was easy to spot, these superheroes clearly had something similar. You may ask, what characteristics would these Avengers have with their TV units? They told us one by one.

Captain America

This is DEVANT's very own 65 inch Curved Ultra HD TV. Just like Captain America, it's good looking, strong, and you'll never hear a bad word coming from it (unless you do of course). It's very smart, since it's a Smart 3D TV. All the curves, much like Captain America's shield makes it the perfect thing to watch your favorite shows, movies and games. Having this in your living room would feel just surreal that you can't possibly find another hero with that disposition. I want to be Captain America like I want that Curved Ultra HD TV too. Hello DEVANT! LOL!

Iron Man

For something more comic, something smart, something very like Iron Man, DEVANT also has this 65 Inch Smart 3D Ultra HD TV. It's got impressive technology much like Mr. Stark. Boasting an 8.3 Megapixel display and a built in ISDB-T receiver, even mad scientists like you (yes I know what you did last night with Pepper) would be impressed with this thing. You want technology to work for you and this just does the job. I want this one as well, so if Devant and Mr. Stark had the same characteristics, they'll pay for it right? LOL Hello DEVANT again!

Hulk

Hulk can SMASH! It's the same thing with DEVANT's Superb Sound quality in every 50 inch Smart 3D Ultra HD TV. Just try and visit their stores so you could see what Black Widow loves with this monster, he's got built in subwoofers so you can get you and your facts clearer, and viewing experience ultra hypnagogic! You can ask Bruce Banner about what that word means too, he's smart like that.

Thor

Just like Thor, you won't stop until you get answers to your questions. DEVANT wants you to see what you clearly want in this 55 inch Smart 3D Ultra HD TV. You'll never see blurred scenes anymore because of its fast frame refresh rate made better with 120 Hertz Vivid Motion technology that'll get you that fast frame refresh rate. It's fast as thunder and lightning, when you see him raise his hammer and struck by it you won't see blurs, you see lightning details itself! Now that's demigod-like!

 Hawkeye

This DEVANT 55 inch Smart 3D TV is just a sharp shooter. It never misses a scene because of its spot on picture display. He could be out in the forest or inside the walls of a building but he'll never miss a target because this has got a Perfectly Clear Panel Display. It basically eliminates ambient light reflection even on different lighting conditions. The TV, just like Hawkeye will never miss a target. It's never gonna miss to let you see all the video details that you should see. It's like an advanced human feature that only wants to show you still have the heart to enjoy it with your family. Retiring soon like Hawkeye would have never been so good without this in your home, you'll enjoy time with it for years!

Black Widow

Her love for Hulk and her cleansing psycho dramatic story was for the books during the film. Much like DEVANT, she is special. You can get DEVANT's 50 inch Smart 3D TV's and get yourself 2D to 3D conversion. You don't really have to go to the movie houses and experience that. You can enjoy it at the comforts of your own home. You can watch all those action movies, sports channels just like the boys do. Black Widow shoots, punches, kicks and break them necks for breakfast. The DEVANT TV outperforms most of those expensive brands in the market and get you less what you paid for. Wouldn't you want things to be worth it?

As for me, my super hero dreams would still be there. I'll take a look at the DEVANT TV Collection and its superb features to inspire me. I might not be an Avenger now but I'll definitely have that same hope for consumers that you'll get a lot of things from getting a DEVANT TV. It's unbelievably priced quite nice too. You don't have to spend a lot to think you're special, you just have to know what you're buying is worth it and that's exactly why DEVANT TV's are actually like these guys from Marvel's Avengers : Age of Ultron. Remember, no matter who you are, where you're from and what you do, you can be special too! (I think I should credit Backstreet Boys on that last part LOL!) I don't have a DEVANT TV yet, but I'm sure just like these heroes, they know how to save me... I know they will! We could be heroes. (Hello DEVANT! Haha!)

SMART Announces Exclusive Partnership With Disney!

Tuesday, February 03, 2015

This one's a bit personal. I love my name, it's not too common, it's not too weird. I was named after a saint (since it was required a long time ago) and after a cartoon character. Who do you say? Yes! You are correct, I was named after Mickey Mouse. Consequently, "Michael" was a more appropriate name so they stayed with that; but the origin wasn't the saint too as I thought it would be. It's cute, I know, when my Mom told me about it I almost coughed out the hot coffee I was having that afternoon, but I figured why I was so fond of Disney even at a very young age.

My brother got to love Donald Duck so we were like them years ago. Yes, we used to chase play tricks on each other as if we were cartoon characters, it was that close. Later on, Marvel was pretty popular and we got to play games in arcades, cards, and just about any merchandise they had on their coffers, we got it! But now, it's all about our phones and the hundreds of games available in it. You might think it's going to be expensive, but you haven't seen anything yet. Take my advice because I just discovered that the biggest network SMART Communications Inc. has got us hooked up with the latest Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm titles. Oh yes! This is an EXCLUSIVE partnership with Smart Communications which means you can now get your favorite E-Books, Online Games, Activities and Wallpapers without the need to use a credit card. Check out the Disney content they are offering on the Smart Disney Page and see how you can enjoy Frozen, Big Hero 6, The Avengers, Star Wars and many more!

Finally, we can all have this generation fall in love with Disney all over again! Thanks to SMART!

Disney Infinity - Marvel Super Heroes 2.0 Edition Launch

Monday, September 29, 2014

Mike Schneider Senior Producer Disney Interactive
I've been playing consoles since I was a kid. I journeyed far and beyond Manila to get a decent challenger in some of the games I play and have championed some of them. I got pretty rusty already because the usual games I played became outdated in a couple of years and it was pretty hard to learn new ones later on. I still have a my Playstation addiction and can play a mean round or two of any game of your choosing. I can easily adapt because I am a gamer no matter how new these console goes out in public.

/*Image from Disney.com and not mine.

One of the innovations on these consoles that got my attention lately is this game in particular called Disney Infinity. I haven't played the game yet but when we got to the launch a few days ago, they were already releasing the second edition. Think of multi-player, then use characters from Disney and Pixar. Think of the game play that would come out in their various skills and superpowers done in spectacularly designed environments made by professional ones or community members who even give their designs away for free via Toy Box. You can just imagine the possibilities. The recently launched one includes The Disney Infinity Marvel Super Heroes Starter Pack version 2.0 includes the game software, the Disney 2.0 Base, The Avengers 3 piece character set (Iron Man, Black Widow and Thor), two toy box game discs, your own game web code card and Toy Box 2.0 software too. They also released Spiderman and Guardians of the Galaxy play sets so you can mix them up if the game allows it. You would need to play specific quests in order to make that available in the game.

In the Disney Infinity Marvel Super Heroes 2.0 Edition, they are bringing more fresh content and story lines. They also believe that they'll be impressed with how these new characters would be involved inside the story doing flying, web swinging, crawling, smashing a lot more. The Toy Box 2.0 was also improved by a mile making it easier and efficient in making random or designed pieces wherever and whenever they are in the country. Characters can also be updgraded in skill so don't fret if you're going to need the playset 2.0 to mix with first edition ones. They'll be mixing and matching them as long as you do the special quests in the game. The all natural games  will surely make adventure lovers love it even more when it arrives on your doorstep. Last year's event got us excited over the developments coming to the version 1.0, now that they've got 2.0 and pretty impressive characters in the story.

Gameplay is nice. I played an hour or so on my first try. I loved how free the environment was because you can fly, you can change characters by placing a different one on the Disney Infinity pad. You can also use the game discs to boost the powers of your characters as if it wasn't powerful enough. The graphics, it has more to improve but I think the thing to consider is that it's made cartoon-ish so don't expect life like characters. They also needed to make them equate with the other characters from other shows and that is a bit complicated. You also need to do special quests in order to use the other characters. Aside from that, skill upgrades are available while inside the game so your superpowers improve as you get further in the story. I like the modes where you can also ride a motorbike and roam around the city that way or be in versus mode to battle for the best time.

What I like is the fact that it is now here in the Philippines. In the past we always had to import things like these just to get it. It's presence along may spur gaming trends because it's not like the oridnary consoles we had these past few years. It's a new technology, it's got a Toy Box and a lot of gaming opportunities. I wish I had compatible consoles but it's a good thing you can play this on the PC by downloading off their website. Register now and make your own Disney Infinity a reality!

Between Iron Man and Mortal Kombat

Friday, July 02, 2010

Here I go back again to my habits of playing out of the blue. I held my psp in the middle of the week and downloaded some new games. It was Iron Man 2 and the ever favorite fighting game Mortal Kombat. Let me start by telling you a little about how the Iron Man 2 game works.

Iron Man 2 is actually based from the movie of the same title. In this particular game Tony Stark definitely resembles his movie actor and gets all the humor in between. The graphics are nice however it would have been more easier if they all started doing something about the flying capability. It wasn't that nice if he could only do it on 2 floors right? The repulsor blaster also had its pros and cons but it did the job every now and then. I never got through finding how he would actually die in the game because the life indicator was complicated and never really shown the health of Iron Man. You can also choose what armor to have after the second part. Although it would be a pain not to use the main character because you have upgraded it after all. All the upgrades would be done right after a chapter. The story flow would actually lose you in translation because if you are lost in the map it would be doubly hard for you to find your way back into the story. Yes there are clues but an arrow would have been very right to do. All in all the game is a 2 out of 5 kumags but I'll still play it!

The Mortal Kombat version for the PSP is called Unchained. No its not melody because of all the things that will be included, the gore and blood is still going to be evident. It's the violent falls and deaths they do to themselves on some instances via hara kiri that is quite entertaining. If you are a bub like me who love gore and violence you wouldn't be disappointed because it is the only thing it can offer. Controls are shown but how can you do that with fat fingers like I have on a combo. I can press em but the response time in a PSP console was not really being given a chance. I wish there was some way to make it all better. I love fighting games and I hope there are new titles to play like Marvel vs Capcom and the titles after that. I love the video they released of it though because the guy from Devil May Cry is on it. I'm excited!

Mortal Kombat will get the same rating as with Iron Man because pretty soon I'll be bored with it so 2 out of 5 kumags will do.

In the meantime watch this.
