Changing TV5 Primetime Landscape with "PRIMETIME TODO"

I was in the TV5 studios this Saturday because of a show I'm taping with a couple of fun stars, and hopefully I'd be able to tell you all about that soon. 

 I was able to see and hear them laugh and get interviewed next door because TV5 is launching new shows as part of their primetime block. They properly call it Primetime Todo and I loved what I saw there! We were resting in the dressing room when I heard a familiar voice, it was Kris Bernal and she's part of the show "Ate ng Ate Ko". She was invited by APT Entertainment to do this and work with Jake Cuenca, Tonton Gutierrez, Joem Bascon, Kim Last and Phil Noble. She said "When APT Entertainment reached out, I was hesitant at first because it was a different environment. I also questioned myself if I'm doing the right thing but when I read the script, the character was so complex and I knew how acting is my passion and life, I knew then I wanted to do true to life characters on TV. I'll do it! I want to thank TV5 for the warm welcome, I hope my fans would appreciate it. Ate ng Ate Ko will be the strict Ate, the baby sister will be a little complicated, this is about family and love, so watch out for that every Monday night starting this November 23!"

 

No doubt these are original and exciting content and this is in partnership with CignalTV too as they will be showing this on the Cignal Play App. 

 

 

I am eagerly excited about the next one which is STAY IN LOVE which stars Maris Racal, Kokoy De Santos, Pooh, Ruffa Gutierrez, Ashley Colet, Bobby Andrews and is Directed by Ron Marmol and will show Tuesdays. This is a lighthearted romcom, where Maris' character will be struggling in life but hey, why not have love in it right?

Ashley says "I play Vannah, a very tough cookie and daughter of Ms. Ruffa. She has sickness, she has heavy load, which will be unveiled in the coming weeks."

Pooh plays Dencio the strict Mayordomo and you will see if you will love him or hate him in the show. Bobby Andrews is the love interest of Ms. Ruffa, he is also the father of Kokoy in the show. David plays Hero, another love interest of Maris and he might steal her from Kokoy De Santos' character. Ms Ruffa is a little flamboyant, eccentric in this one. Kokoy says "I play Dodong, I only want one thing and it is be swooned by Diding". Maris added "I play Diding and wanted to work in the home of Ms. Ruffa, she is very funny, sometimes serious, she is trying to look for her own path."

Direk says "My Mom is Diding, she had to work hard for my family. I want to make this showcase how colorful their lives are even though they are ordinary people. It has heart, a peek into the lives of rich people who we all thought are well put together, they always need the help of the people around them and that includes household help. Of course I am excited and grateful how this all turned out, we want to show how God blessed us to have an entire show deliver. Kokoy has a different flavor, it plays differently for the character he's playing."

 

 

Kokoy says "I think if you expect the kalat that you see in other projects I will give that. I think I might spoil things if I tell you more about him so please make sure you watch the show. This is different because of the circumstances, I have worked with Maris before and this time, it's going to be fun. In terms of prep, I think it is the same. It's not like work for me, if another comes, I will do it and just base my process with the character I'm playing. There will be very nice scenes soon, you will see that in the show. I think there is no difference between doing BL and this, it's the same, it's because of love. Cai knows about this project so I don't think this is a problem, this is just work as usual."

Ms. Ruffa says "I'm thankful for the clothes that I have from Ms. Tessa Prieto. I had to be different because she's so full of life, from a very bad life but succeeded because of her perfume business. She had to do a lot of things to get accepted by the society. Stay in Love and the other shows I'm doing is just a fun set, with them I get to see comedians, more young ones, more matured ones, it's a mix but the work is at ease. There are strict protocols, these are done to make sure everyone is safe. It's psychologically draining to be away from home in like three weeks. You miss your bed, you accept the situation, but what is good is that you get to be close in the set. It's just a happy feeling, because you love your job and you do it for your family. Doing mature roles is just natural, I think it is okay to do Mother roles as I am a real Mom in real life. It's just a role I'm playing. Herbert is a friend, a good friend since back then, I am thankful to have had the opportunity to work in different networks. During this time I have the ability to support my family, my kids." She also announced during the presscon that she is officially single in real life.

 

 

Maris added "I was so happy to learn that I'm working with Kokoy, we were a love team before and I had so much fun back then, and he is like naturally his character in this show. Diding actually has the same personality, but our goals are different. We are just naturally innocent, and I'm from Davao, it's like the same experience. Being a kasambahay is also different because I needed to follow rules in a very strict household."

Stay In Love will start airing next week, on a Tuesday. Primtime Todo also has other shows like Bella Bandida with Ryza Cenon doing action, Kagat ng Dilim which is a horror flick, plus Carpool which is more of a drama/suspense show. You'll have all November to love these shows on the primtime block of TV5, go enjoy Primetime Todo!

Ruffa Gutierrez Signs With ALV Talent Circuit

Miss World Second Princess, Mom, Actress and Multi Media endorser Ms. Ruffa Gutierrez has been one of the most successful showbiz personalities of her generation. True enough, she's appeared in numerous shows, movies, international ones, endorsements and of course her world renowned reality show "It Takes Gutz To Be A Gutierrez" which she stars with her whole family. It's won awards and made the Gutierrez name a household occurence in different countries, and is still on their 5th most controversial season. She's signing up with Arnold Vegafria's ALV Talent Circuit.

Ruffa Gutierrez says "My Mom is very picky, meticulous and choosy with her friends so when they told me they already talked about it, I was so glad to finally be with him because we go way back. For me timing is everything and before we would always be together in socials but I know we are both excited, he is my new phone pal and he knows what is right for me, and what I want. International schools are expensive so I tell him what I want to do, work on what more we can do. My kids are also getting offers, I told them we can accept things as long as they don't miss school. No more boyfriends please. It's challenging to be a single mom but I always explain things to them now, even my Mom gets indecent proposals so my kids might get that too, they have to be careful. This is a fresh chapter, I have talked to people that made our show number one on E! and hopefully do another season. This will not affect my existing endorsements and Arnold is going to add new ones. Eat Bulaga started off as a guesting, but it clicked and now wherever I go they know me as Ruffaree with just one guesting, so now I am semi regular. Thanks to my Eat Bulaga Family, I get to be near the masses."

Ruffa adds "I miss talk shows, I love talking about my insights and hopefully to do a show soon. For me, as long as the role is very good and the offer is good I'm okay with it. As far as I know they haven't prepared for the wedding yet as Chard is working, so I don't know what my role would be in their wedding. My lovelife is so quiet, I am able to have sole decisions to my kids because I act as their Mom and Dad. They will have projects, so I'm sure they will meet people so I have to guard them and be careful about loveteams. I wanna earn more than what I'm getting today, so Arnold has got his work cut out for him. We trust Arnold and whatever he says about my career, we will take his direction. Mom respects Arnold's decision, it was very fast because they just talked two weeks ago. They are very frank so there was no beating around the bush. I'm so proud to see what he did for Ms. World because we had a lot of ladies that qualified. The ladies now are more matured and women should answer from experience. I wanted to work with a girl that wants it and be ready to fight and get the crown, and a heart that is in charities, beauty with a purpose."

About John Lloyd "I was so happy to live in an era where there were no cellphones, I was shocked and took pity on the guy with what he had to go through. So you guys if you want to have fun please no cellphones. I don't want to spoil my kids and give them that, they have to work for it. Now they want to do a commercial because they want the iPhone X."

Arnold Vegafria says "She's the perfect endorser, I have to be a little busy working with the two biggest networks and I hope we get the best deals. I will also concentrate on digiital platforms for the artist and support the plans of Tita Anabelle for Ruffa. I will augment. I've known Ruffa since years ago, so I'm going to look for a show that would fit her. I will also be handling Ruffa's daughters, we will be talking about it next week but I have to still make studies a priority for them."

Watch out for more of Ruffa Gutierrez because she'll be more visible in the coming months. They have a lot planned and this partnership just happened at the right time. They believe in his direction, congratulations Ms. Ruffa and ALV Talents Circuit!

It Takes Gutz To Be A Gutierrez Season 4

It looks like we're up for a wondeful ride again as E! Asia takes you further with the 4th Season of the original reality series It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez. This will coincide with their "I Heart Pinoy Monday Block" and will premier this July 25 at 8:30PM. 

You'll see Richard back in the groove as he has gone back from a hiatus to spend quality time with his first born Zion. Sarah Lahbati on the other hand has been able to secure a Dance Diva title in another channel, making her a bankable artist and actress this time. Elvis and Alexa on the other hand have been able to go back to work and started acting again while the latter gets a position in the banking industry. 

Feisty Mom Anabelle and groovy Dad Eddie take time to become grandparents and set themselves in a slower pace. Is this a permanent thing or is this just something temporary. Raymond on the other hand is doing well as a PR magnate, getting his businesses in shape but possibly causing a rift between him and his whole family. 

Raymond says "It's a good thing that E! is doing this as we're doing it in 27 countries. I could say we're really doing good because it's already foreigners that are telling us, really excited about it so why not give it another shot."

Anabelle Rama mentioned "It's bad to push away blessings like that, I won't waste money! I won't be fighting with Ruffa anymore because she's already gone" 

Ruffa says "The last time I saw her cry was when my mom and dad fought unless someone is sick or not well, that's where we see her soft hearted but she doesn't show it that much. I know she cares."

There will be a lot to watch out for in this new season. I've heard a lot of inside stories but we can't divulge it yet! Watch the premier this coming Monday (July 25th!).

Funny, Independent, Powerful Women in Misterless Misis TV5

This series looked impossible to do right from the start. From the stellar cast, the multitude of characters they have to portray, the big stars, all must have been a headache to achieve since it's planning. They called it Misterless Misis, as this happens at an era when women want to see how real life independent women would handle their not so ordinary lives. The cast includes prime TV5 actress Ritz Azul, legendary actress comedienne Mitch Valdez, host and Jerry Springer's female version Gelli De Belen, multi awarded actress Ms. Lorna Tolentino, beauty queen, model and international star Ruffa Gutierrez and new full figured bombshell Andie Gomez (first ever contestant of FHHM Eat Bulaga fame).

 This isn't actually going to be serious as they're mostly going to be in a situational comedy scenes. Although the issues are, you can tell, pressing matters, they're going to concentrate way more on friendships, relationships and how it feels to heed the help of your friends. It reminded me much of Mysteria Lane or Desperate Housewives, but the director said if it might have some similarities, it's not intentional and the only common thing is just standard issues that women of their age go through. 

She was laughing profusely and was a bit put off by the mere fact that we were interviewing her. She's a communications student and she didn't think she was going to be on the other side of the fence during the press conference. She plays a very outspoken and ultra confident woman in the show. It's a far cry from what she is in real life but she laments "Actually, until today, I can't really believe what's happening. I only watch my co-stars on TV and now there's a chance for me, when they were looking for a fresh face we all know how small the population is for plus sized women in the industry. They wanted it, that's me but of course I auditioned for this, I was just chosen for this part. I don't have a manager but I think I need it. I was a grand finalist in FHHM but didn't get that far, so this was an unexpected blessing in disguise. 

My experience was more into news production, I was always the host in college and it was just role playing in college, but this is the first time. Tiny is more of Andie so this was no pressure, what made me realize this was different is because I'm in front of Ruffa and I had to be super confident with these beautiful people. We've taped already 3 episodes and it's going to be all about the characters, like backgrounders. Tiny is a big girl, happily married, has kids, but the confidence is over the roof, over the galaxy. I am the only one who always had a say about diets, but I'm not the streotype, I wear what I want even with this shape. This is so good for big girls, I hope that inspires people in the same state. 

I haven't really seen any episodes, waaa! I don't know how I'll look like on camera! I was so nervous with Ruffa because I had to say a line like I had to say I'm more beautiful than her. I had to also tell her that women this beautiful are snobs, and she had to be friendly since she's not LOL! I haven't worked that much with Ms. Lorna yet but we did have a conversation with other artists, I don't know yet what will happen because Ms. Lorna is so big, but she's very humble, very human without any star complex. I'm married here with Fabio Ide, so I don't know if I can do that... I haven't had a scene yet, but I'm hoping tomorrow will be good since we're doing it. In the multitude of personalities, Ms. Mitch and I will be very comedic because she plays my Mom in the show. Ms. Gelli also is a pro in pulling off lines. Ms. Mitch is always going to be my antagonist, we're always clashing and I can't wait for people to see my clothes in the show. I woke up like this! Complete with contours, heavy make up, a combination of funny and the not so normal big girls in the society and she doesn't care if there are problems. That part is nice she's funny and gives advice while biting on a doughnut. It's like modern to old school, you can tell we're telling people about themselves in the show. I hope people would be able to watch us on August 9, 2015 at 9PM." 

Ritz Azul sat with us to tell more about her character, she plays a Physical Therapist and handles old people regularly because it comes with the job. Her neighbors on the other hand judged her repeatedly saying these old geezers were her men! Crazy right? Well, she's still optimistic and hope this character makes notice of those chismosas in your neighborhood and how people would judge others in this situation. She says "I just came from school and got made up in my uniform, but my character is Mia, a PT and health buff, and vegetarian, and BOHO chic. They're going to talk about me in the show because they thing I have different DOM's but I just take care of them. We already taped with everyone and I feel there's no off and on cam thing in the set. Director Mark Meily made this a very happy set. I've worked with them all except Andie. They're all great people, they don't make you feel intimidated, and we always help out each other. I am a bit separate but I always have an epilogue in the last bit so we can sum up how to resolve problems every episode. 

It's an hour long and talks about Misis that are Misterless, from having breakups, death, and I'm the only one who is single in this show. That part is funny because they'll see me with different old people. It's been a long time since I heard that we were going to do this, but when it happened, it was really a dream just hearing the names of the cast members. I learned a lot from them especially Gelli who's really crazy on set. You can adlib but we do this like a commercial because this is Unitel. It's a shot per person, it's live audio so you have to remember everything. Ms. Mitch always sings on set, Gelli dances KPOP, Andie is a little nervous but we're always together on tent. For a new artist, she's working hard and she comes prepared because she reviews everything at home and throw lines with her PA. People can learn a lot from my character, not to judge people, and I think people should start living healthy. For the whole show, you'll learn something from us individually, you find love, you'll learn the value of friendships and how we all connect in the neighborhood. This is like Sex in the City, Friends and Desperate Housewives in one show. It's going to be a big surprise each time, I hope people would get to see it when we start on the 9th of August! It's going to be fun!"

It Takes Gutz To Be a Gutierrez Season 3

It's not easy to be a celebrity family. That's what I learned when I attended the press conference for the show "It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez" a few days ago at Cocoon Hotel in Quezon City. The Gutierrez Family comprised of hunky Richard Gutierrez, host and twin businessman Raymond Gutierrez,  beauty queen and celebrity mom Ruffa Gutierrez, super strict mom Annabelle Rama Gutierrez and former matinee idol Eddie Gutierrez, their lives are spent under a microscope again for their 4th season in this show. They had to reveal a lot of things that were pretty much very personal in the first few seasons but now that they've got that taken cared of, the 4th season presents issues about family relationships, a baby, a wife, and perhaps another wedding to happen this year. You'll also see a lot of Anabelle Rama Gutierrez fights which has always been the talk of Philippine press. We even got to see that ourselves during the presscon as Annabelle and Ruffa have really not yet patched up things between them. Ruffa said "It's difficult to be in a situation where you want to be happy and try out relationships but end up being gunned down by Mom, I'm so blessed to have a very supportive family. We do have our disagreements but I know deep inside my Mom only wants to care for me and my welfare that's why!". Annabelle suddenly grabs the other microphone and says to Ruffa "If you only follow my advices you won't end up making the wrong choices. If you only follow me, we won't really have problems or fights Ruffa!". says the matriarch.

"It is not the same if you have kids. Filipinos would love things introduced in this show by E! and it's going to get bigger!" adds Raymond. "We're very excited and very thankful that it's now not just going to be shown in Asia, finally we closed the deal with TFC! Now the people who wanted to see us in the middle east and in the US can now have us inside their homes worldwide because we're in ABSCBN's The Filipino Channel." says Richard Gutierrez.

For those who are asking, you won't be seeing it anymore in Youtube because they're going to show the first and second season on TFC, plus the new Third Season on E!, thanks to CPI, NBC Universal and their other partners that made this deal possible. All of these will start this June so for those who are on the channel, you'll see It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez Season 1 and 2. Later on, you'll also see Season 3 but it will be aired first on E!

I was also informed by Richard that they'll probably have tours all over the world because the show brings in a new platform, it's one of the reasons why they got invited to the Asian Film awards because they did the show. It's not going to be seen online anymore, well not unless you have the TFC package. You'll also see the show on The Lifestyle Network, one of the cable channels of ABSCBN too.

Annabelle and Ruffa were a bit emotional during the presscon. Annabelle hate scripts so they were kind of just bearing with each other since they had to promote the show. Ruffa cried because she got a little upset of the situation but hopes and knows that it will all be better soon. 

It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez will air on TFC this June and will start airing the third season this July. As they say, they have their own opinions, they are strong willed, but whatever they're going through, they are still a family. Make sure you subscribe to TFC if you're out of the country so you'll feel right at home seeing the Gutierrez's in their show!
