Coca-Cola Shows You Real Magic

Thursday, December 09, 2021

Truth be told, we have history with Coca-Cola. This Christmas season, they're starting to tell us about community and togetherness, called aptly as "Buksan ang Magic ng Pasko".

This reminds us of the connections we make, with family, friends, with others. The human connection, the friendships we make, the community we help especially during the holidays in the country. Each time we go have a meal together, ending a plate of your favorite meal includes that fizzy, sharp and caramel like end which comes with a glass of coke. Coca-Cola's Marketing Director Cesar Gangoso says "Our Christmas has changed a bit in the past two years, but Coca-Cola has remained a part of everyone's story.

For them, magic is everywhere. You maybe alone, or in grandiose celebrations, or making memories while sharing with people we love dearly. The connections remain the same. Check out this video they've made for you.

By the way, this is just the star because they're having a lot of activities this holiday season. It's time you celebrate the #PaskongCocaCola you've always done through the years. It's not to late to reconnect, establish that magic once again inside your homes. Check the Coca-Cola Philippines Facebook page for more information about it.

Thursday, October 24, 2019

Looks like things will be interesting as this season 3 Coke Studio episode focuses on family feels. This Saturday, the one and only pop royalty Sarah Geronimo will be appearing live to perform with popular millennial favorite THIS BAND.

Sarah has often been praised for her love and devotion to her family and she says “I really love my family, the sacrifices they made and whatever happens, God gave me a gift that grounds me and keeps me humble. Being invited in Coke Studio Season 3 is like being invited to a family. I have always wished I could be a part of that.”

This Band is composed of Andrea Manzano (vocals), Euwie Von Loria(guitar), Miccael Galvan (bass), John Kenneth Macaranas(drums), Melvin Carson (keyboard) and Reymart Gubat(lead guitar). They said “We couldn’t believe that this early in our career, we could be working with Sarah Geronimo. It’s as if our career will be fast-tracked, things are going beyond what we really imagined.”

Make sure you don’t miss this episode on how Sarah Geronimo and This Band will collaborate for Coke Studio Season 3. It will be this October 26, at 10:00 a.m. on ABS-CBN or online at the Coke Studio PH YouTube channel.

Good Days for OPM Happening at #CokeStudioPH

Sunday, August 20, 2017

Looks like Coke is getting their hands warm on Filipino music. They've been always like that and despite hard times, they've managed to put up tons of concerts, shows and caravans that make us all proud of our own music. They're not stopping there because every Saturday, they will be seen helping established, up and coming and indie bands + artists to up the ante on their OPM game for COKE STUDIO PH. It's a new show seen on TV5 every Saturday at 7PM and just a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to see the launch at SMX Convention Center. It was like a town fiesta like no other!

Coke had us stay in the center, surrounded by different stages that had musicians, artists take over for a few minutes and boy it was crazy! Different genres, different takes on new and old Filipino songs, all of us got comfy seats and sang along with the crowd.

The crowd wasn't letting down as throngs of them lined up even after the first performers came out. Sandwich opened the show, I went ballistic! Haha!

They switched back to acoustic and played my favorite Eraserheads songs, an era I am very familiar with.
Then they toned down a bit and made it a bit romantic. These two had us feel like we were in a park busking in the moonlight.

I wasn't surprised TV5 had this on their station. I remember Coach Chot saying that they wanted to have something that isn't seen on the other stations, this would really be something special for them, not to mention a good platform to be seen, to help those bands and artists that are good but haven't been seen by the general public. To hopefully broker record deals if they find them awesome on stage.

I couldn't remember their name but they played percussion instruments like they were in Rio De Janeiro. I'd like this in my own party!

A section of the hall was dedicated to a Coke Studio filled with your favorite drink, and a Karaoke + recording facility. It was a time to sing your heart out in front of tons of people. I didn't do this but I would if I could brave the line that they had that evening.
The other side of the hall had a conversation space where the artists and the band members were interviewed, made to inspire us ordinary people, and the up and coming bands and artists too. The juke box though isn't your ordinary box, it's an automatic labeler so you can just put in your name and get your own personalized Coke bottle!

Coke executives weren't just going to sit around and watch, they played too!

When Sandwich came on stage, I shouted, I jumped with excitement, and joined in with the crowd who wanted more of this music.

Stephan from Coke also gave a speech. Here it is on video so listen in!

I had so much fun!

For the finale, they had the artists, the executives from Coke and the bands on stage including Franco. God was I so zonked this night but I still got my A game on. I wished the evening wouldn't stop!

Thank you so much Coca Cola Philippines for the opportunity to party with you guys! Every year I always look forward to your gigs!

Again for those who would want to see the show and how you mix in the old and the new, keep it on TV5 every Saturday at 7PM. You'll like Noel Cabangon do it with rapper CurtisSmith, and other artists on the pipeline. Cheers to Coke and Pinoy Music!

The Perfect Coke

Wednesday, February 25, 2015

I was mind blown seeing tons of Coke bottles in a giant cooler in the middle of Glorietta's Activity Center. Coca Cola Philippines invited us for a day of fun and excitement as they ask us to reminisce how it was to have our first time. With the hashtag #SarapNgFirstTime already out being advertised on TV, we've always wondered what was it all about? Is this a new variant of Coke? You see, I even speculated about that already, that they'll be bringing something new and announcing it in a grand way.

You see the thing behind me? I didn't think about it that much, but that was actually a hint already of what they were about to announce that afternoon. When Gino Quillamor from RX93.1 arrived to host the show, he kept on coming back to check the status of the thermometer and telling us about how to have the #PerfectCoke. I mean, really though, is there such a thing?

I like my coke ice cold, but do you know what's the exact temperature to have a perfect one? We waited a while to see what Coca Cola Philippines had to say. It's like an official pronouncement of what certain point would it be to say that it is the actual #PerfectCoke, but before that, they got stars in the mix and launched it simultaneously here in Manila, Cebu and Davao in the south. It felt like a huge party where the main thing to celebrate with is this awesome beverage.

They had Manolo Pedrosa and Miles Ocampo to sing and dance for us. That was something worthy to be told later LOL.. Or you can check out this video about their individual performances!

I even saw some admins of the IGersManila group, they were there like me as they were invited by Coke!

Then these guys finally came up the stage and told us that the Coke bottles they've been keeping cold in the back is almost perfect, enough with the suspense already!

The first time you had a Coke should always and is recommended to be at 3' Celsius! Yes, it's not a nee flavor, it's the perfect coke if it's on that particular temperature. Isn't that great news? Well it won't be if we didn't try it out ourselves that afternoon, so we did!

When they started to ask for a toast, I already drank half the bottle hahaha! So I did the smartest thing after that, I got another bottle! Genius!

Now it's easy to do it too in your own homes. Just make sure you have enough ice to fill the coolers and put in bottles of Coke there! Or if you're a little tired, and if it's too hot outside this summer, you can actually wait for them to come to you! Ob yes you heard that right! They have brand new spanking Coke Happy Cycles that will go around the country to give away a million bottle of #PerfectCoke! Just make sure you follow their official social media channels so you can request your barangay, township or city to be the next one! Free coke is just weeee!

The Coca Cola Modern Glass Collection at McDonalds

Friday, November 07, 2014

Isn't that a sight for sore eyes? You know last year, I had to line up a couple of times in McDonalds stores in Eastwood so I could get all the upside down looking Coca Cola glasses and take it home. This year, I feel so ecstatic that people have been so good to me for this to happen. I got a whole set of the new Coca Cola Modern Glass Collection complete with a box that made look quite expensive. The same rule goes, if you get to purchase a McDonald's Extra Value Meal, BFF Burger, Chicken Bundle or Breakfast Value Meals, just add Php 25.00 to it and voila! You've got one of these gorgeous glass pieces in the bag!

First impression? Pretty. Anyone could prolly mistake this for those expensive ones in posh home centers seen in malls. It's something collectible, and pretty much it's something that Filipinos have grown accustomed to. I know a ton of people that probably received a set or more of these drinking glasses as gifts from birthdays, weddings, or just any occasion there is in the country. Funny as it seems to some, but it projects our natural affinity of taking care of each other, our way of making sure that our fellows home is complete and at least have the basics. It does mean a lot more than just drinking glasses, it's how we share memories, how we interact when we get to the table from breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Design wise, they've done an extremely good job at it. This is the 7th year that they are doing this, making this a long withstanding partnership with Coca Cola and McDonald's. Whether it's the Diamond, Linear, Mosaic, Pixel, Ripple or Steel that you need to work on these days, now's the chance for you to storm through the nearest McDonald's branch near you to get one of these gorgeous drinking glasses available only holidays through the special partnership of Coke and McDonald's which will only last during the holidays.

I'll be adding another set for some friends and relatives, will you be doing the same?! :)
