SANYA LOPEZ Wishes For Book 2 of FIRST YAYA

Thursday, July 29, 2021

It's been a phenomenal year for Sanya Lopez. Even if we were under the pandemic, she's copped a lead role for First Yaya and paired with the legendary Gabbi Concepcion. Her first reaction was, "Wait, what? Why is this being given to me? After being teased for Ms. Marian Rivera, I really was a little confused at first but after hearing her reasons from management, I understood how important it is for a mother to take care of her children."

She's also keen on doing a role to perhaps do a superhero, if that would be given to her. She's optimistic that anything can happen because she's been given a lot. God was in a way blessing her with so much than she's even hoped for and with all the brands believing with her, plus the shows being entrusted to her, she is hopeful that this will all continue with her contract renewal with GMA Artist Center.

She will be also celebrating her birthday on August 9 and she wouldn't even wish for anything but health for her family and her loved ones. She also hopes that soon, everything will be alright and we'll all get to keep our relationships intact. She also hopes that her love life improves, she's looking for someone that respects women, her family, and love them too. She mentions "I don't really go for looks, just the personality, but if they have abs and good looks, that's a bonus!"

Can't wait for Sanya to shine even brighter. She deserves all the blessings because she's a very kind person. I've known her for a couple of years, and she remained that humble.

Andrea Torres Says No Official Talk Yet on John Lloyd Cruz Project

Sunday, July 18, 2021

It's so refreshing to see Andrea Torres in GMA shows these days. She's definitely made a mark in The Better Woman, Victor Magtanggol, Contessa, Alyas Robin Hood, The Millionaire's Wife, My Faithful Husband, Pari 'Koy, Ang Lihim ni Annasandra and more but this new one with Dennis Trillo, Bianca Umali and Alice Dixson is going to be highly controversial as it delves on polygamy and religion, some of the most taboo things to talk and see on TV these days. We got to see her a few days ago via an interview online as she signed with GMA Artist Center again (renewal of contract) and during the blogcon, she told us a few more things about the upcoming show called Legal Wives wherein she'll be playing one of the wives. She's also the only one that's coming from a Christian upbringing which would not be easy to understand that she'll be living with two other wives under the same roof. Here's a video of that blogcon, please enjoy!

Andrea adds "It's very important for me that you are aware when you get on set, you condition yourself as a ray of sunshine, to make sure you lighten up peoples burdens. I also make it a point to make my projects better so the next one is even bigger. One of my favorite things is making back stories for the characers I play in series, I make sure I ask production, learn the script so I make sure to deliver and have the chance to make her come to life. The actions of Muslims to me now have a deeper meaning, they're very selfless, and when you watch this, you will see why they made sacrifices for Allah. It has changed how I view them, how they are family oriented, how they are as people. Diane and Ysmael are conflicted, but they love each other."

She also was aware to observe Muslim traditions while portraying the role and tells us "On set, we have Imams, we were taught how to pray, they also bring food, it was a different world. I really am amazed how they are with families, if it's too hard for them, they just follow what is on the Quoran, even if they don't want to do it, they do it right because it's there."

You'll probably be wondering how this would all feel as it gets shown on TV. Will you love her? Or hate her? That remains to be seen. She also has chosen to remain with GMA because she has grown to the actress that she is because of her experiences here. With the onset of actors going to GMA recently, she doesn't treat them as threats, but rather an opportunity to work with other actors that she wasn't able to in the past. She's raring to do that in the next few months, hopefully that John Lloyd Cruz project pans out if it is true, but so far there hasn't been an initiative for talk about it yet, so she would be happy to find out details about that soon.

Congratulations Andrea on your continued success with GMA Artist Center!

Asia's Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista Renews Contract with GMA

Tuesday, June 29, 2021

The crooner who has swooned tons of ladies across Asia has renewed ties with GMA Artist Center. In simple ceremonies last week, Christian Bautista was so happy about his decision to stay with the network. He has been in the industry for over 2 decades and he's very happy knowing that he's gotten renewed because he's treated this as a great partnership. He's been with GMA for over 8 years and plans to do various shows including the highly successful "The Clash" Season 4 and "All Out Sundays". Aside from that, he's looking forward to a future of doing GMA Pinoy TV and regional tours (sans pandemic) which will possibly get him in touch of audiences abroad as a major throng of his supporters are from other countries too.

Christian understands that it's a bit difficult to make plans because of the COVID-19 restrictions so he's probably going to wing every opportunity that comes with this renewal. He also did a project called STILL with Julie Anne San Jose and other artists which is produced for the VIU app. It's more of a series that's got a lot of music involved in it. This will be out soon so his fans still have a lot of things to look forward to, hopefully this year.

These days, Christian is also doing YouTube and he says "It's a bit difficult now, but everybody is doing it. Your fans will enjoy how you share your life, so we (he and his wife) decided to do it. As for digital concerts, that's a lot to think about. Producing, getting sponsors, the timing, it's a bit difficult. Renewing in GMA is surreal, at this time, at this age, it was a nice feeling that people believe in you. I wish for a project that would be celebrated around the world. Whether it may be in front or the back of the camera, I'd like to see that happen. Right now, this show with Julie, it's outside the Philippines and I'd take it. Being with people who love working together, with a purpose, it's something that I want to do. These days, you think about how you would get to earn as an artist during this time. I'm grateful to God that I'm not getting neglected. I want to focus on The Clash as a mentor and judge, hopefully I'd be able to help them. I want to also write songs, be a creator, not just sing."

Recently, the MET was inaugurated and opened by the city of Manila. One of the performers who were invited during that historical opening was Christian Bautista. I asked about it casually and he says "The experience performing again on stage was surreal, I was both excited and elated about doing that again after several months of getting locked in at home. Even if it was 2 seats apart during that day, the live audience really was a different experience. I liked what it was, and I loved to see what it can be again after all these restrictions are gone. In the future, there would probably be online shows, live shows, to blend them might be right. The Clash was getting a nomination in New York just meant that I was doing something right. It's for the directors, the people behind the show, not just us artists and contestants. No one in particular but everyone who joins The Clash, you can feel that they really do want it. It's just sad that opportunities are not given to them all, but hopefully they would try, and not get discouraged."

Here's the rest of the interview on video:

The Clash is going to be bigger and better, so will all the celebrations on AOS. You'll see Christian there and all the talented artists of GMA.

PSID Celebrates GOLD at Uptown Mall BGC

Thursday, September 28, 2017

Having a very successful exhibit last year means they've got to do even bigger this year as they also are celebrating PSID's 50th year. A golden year of interior design showing glamour, opulence, luxury and design elements that portray the expertise and craftsmanship of Filipino interior designers under the tutelage of Victor Ruel Pambid Jr. Under him are the graduating students of PSID and a couple of alumni from the same institution that felt showcasing their work would be the perfect way to celebrate it.

True enough, students of PSID whipped out their interpretations and different use of color, texture and elements of the precious metal. It has to be felt, it has to be seen, from contemporary, modern, moorish, egyptian, popart and rethro, gold elements were indeed a welcome sight.

The MODERN FRENCH RENAISSANCE living room had a lot of gold wall treatments. It made the room wreak expensive, spacious but not overly decorated. I could imagine this to be a royal study where a prince would be forced to learn piano at a young age, but that's just me.

This one is POP ART, a little difficult to execute because of the limitations of shades that would complement gold. They used metal sheets, purple velvet fabric on chairs and sticked with the gold elements even for the artwork. It was okay but I'd like to see several colors and gold executed in this space, they didn't gamble.

This is the BALINESE kitchen. They had a foreigner in mind as a client in this area. I like the long black marble bar/granite counter which has got a prep area so you can still entertain guests while cooking or preparing drinks. The native ceiling, the Balinese flower details on the cabinets felt a little too native, though if it's needed to interpret their room, I would use different materials. Design shouldn't be so literal.

I was impressed with this one. Aimed to please a client who's an up and coming fashion designer, they patterned their space with the elements seen with the recent work he's done in recent shows. It's nice to see gold metal, very structural and architectural in nature and used to reflect the rest of the space, it didn't feel cheap, Miranda Priestly would be proud to move here. This is MODERN DECONSTRUCTIVISM.

This MOROCCAN OASIS is more on the moorish side. The bulb shapes, the nice headboard, the brass fixtures, is reminiscent of a palace in the middle east. I like the seating on the elevated platform, a place you can hangout with your friends or family. Why didn't I think of that?

The space for the CONTEMPORARY EGYPTIAN was laid out quite nicely. It's got ample storage, symmetrical elements and I love the gold trimmings. It's good but what bothered me most was the supposed Egyptian posts, and the water closet. The posts felt a lot staged, almost cartoon-ish, like a sore thumb sticking out from the rest of the things that were there. The water closet, albeit in an open layout should have still been made with a situational private section. It felt too open for comfort, I wouldn't want people be seen taking a dump. It's a his and hers sink, so if they'd do that might as well have something to at least cover or mask it. Or maybe it's just me who's bothered, but there.

In this living room, a CULTURAL AZTEC theme was in play. I like the details on the wall. The sectional would probably be uncomfortable and might need a little getting used to. Let's just say it's not as cohesive as we wished it to be.

Fit to appease a chic successful business woman, this CONTEMPORARY NEOCLASSIC dining room are built with different elements. You've got very detailed chairs, custom made to fit the black white and gold theme, plus an accent chaise lounge chair in the dining table fit to feed around 4 people. I like the things they did with the artwork, mixing around some greek busts with british knick knacks, much to have felt like a London apartment. Pretty good, I like the gold plates on the ceiling too.

This is the INDUSTRIAL LUXE. I know it is pretty hard to actually produce a luxurious industrial spot and I think this didn't quite live up to it. This was rough and I personally don't like how they didn't commit much on the color palette. If you would put wood, it should be cohesive. Yes the bright color might have put focus on the large pantry but it failed on the finish. It didn't look smooth, to get to that luxury they were calling for. If they paid attention to at least have it the same like much of the wood counter and chairs they had in the island and followed the same, then I'd believe their theme even more. Martha would be sad.

This entertainment area is inspired by MODERN ART DECO. If you've been to Manila, a lot of buildings actually follow this look. This treatment felt like a bachelors pad, where the sectional turns into a huge bed (bigger than a California King) and it's got a wet bar plus tons of storage and cabinetry on the sides. They enthusiastically said it's for food so you don't have to see it all the time because of the sliding doors. They also thought well about the acoustics as those flower ceiling is intended to bounce off what's coming out of the huge Samsung TV. I like the color theme, it's gold trims are not too overbearing. It's just enough.

This is ECLECTIC ELEGANCE. It's with a hodge podge of personalized items set to fit together like a glove. I specifically like the work area and the colorful headboard which draws you in. They also showed the large screen that you can change artworks in, like a different one everyday. Wouldn't that be a dream? Albeit busy to the eye, this is like organized chaos, with a place for everything you need in a room and small office. There's also a place to entertain, quite nice.

This was the Mindanao inspired bathroom they had for the NEO ARCHIPELAGO style. The wood patterns are from fabric from the region, all of which I think is a better executed bathroom. The water closet is hidden behind those waterfall his and hers sinks. It didn't feel clunky at all. These students really have talent.

They also had alumni, professors actually join in too.

A Michael Pizarro Bedroom. I could say this is the closest to my taste, but I'd probably have to touch that bare ceiling and put artwork on it.

A Vianca Anunuevo and Mark Perez Living Room. It's very miminalist. Clean lines, full of technology, a bit far from the actual mock up on paper.

This is a Mary Ann Venturina Bulanadi Den or Study Room. I talked to one of the nice lady curators of the Nakpil-Bautista Mansion which was erected in the 20th century. She personally invited me over but I was already planning to do that even before she mentioned it. This space was designed with one of the rooms of that museum in mind which was originally a Jewelry Room (they were that affluent to have space for that?). It was modest, but each piece had a story behind it. Those murals on the wall were made by 5 different artists, plus the fruit basket and metal chandelier too. They also had several pieces on the table and unbelievable decades old chairs all made by artisans which we wouldn't know because we're probably not even born yet. I'd like to find out more when I get to visit that place. It's in A Bautista in Quiapo right beside the Pasig River. Identified with a 1914 Viennese Secession style heritage home managed by the Nakpil Bautista Foundation. They also have a museum that tells a lot about the Philippine revolution. I'll feature them separately soon.

This is an Office/Study Room by Stephanie Yan. It's got wall to ceiling gold treatments but still have very Asian elements. Very modern.

This space was designed by Karen Abrera and Aedefy Company. This was based on the art of Japanese Kintsugi where they usually pour liquid gold in between, as a form of art of broken pieces. I like the section with shiplap salvaged from old houses and the marble bar sectioned off by broken gold lines in random sequences. This was a bit deep.

This is a Lalyn Nivera Bedroom. It's a warm industrial luxe styled space, which is very masculine.

This is designed by Pam Laguar and Ezra Halili. It's a living room with a huge red couch, perfect for a large family, very picture perfect. I could imagine several portraits being shot here.

This one is a Jigs Adefuin Ante Room. This also doubles as a study room but mostly to receive guest before a bigger entertainment area. It's very warm and opulent, with repetitive patterns in different textures. I could see Goldfinger or any mob boss enjoying himself here.

This is a space designed by Mike Suqui and Kat Obcemea. It's a bit futuristic, thinking of a time when people are already cultivating vegetation on their walls just to produce food. This is still a living room, concentrating on plays with material.

This one is a brutalist luxe den by Gelo Del Mundo. A place where it'll be very occupied by texture, people will feel and see it once they step inside. This is just one of the things you should see in the exhibit.

The Philippine School for Interior Design (PSID) will be doing this exhibit the whole month of October. Dubbed as GOLD: Glamorous, Opulent, and Luxurious Designs, this is their graduation exhibit set to showcase Filipino design and enginuity. Make sure you visit them at the Uptown Bonifacio Mall in Bonifacio Global City. It's right across the H&M store so you wouldn't miss it. It'll be something cool to see if you're around the area, if you're on a date or just interested in interior design. You can also get referrals to their builders, they can share their stories too. You shouldn't miss this chance because it only happens once a year.
They have a lot to show.

Tuesday, October 27, 2015

I've been eagerly waiting for this piece of hardware since it's announcement and good thing that the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus is finally arriving in Manila courtesy of our friends from Smart. Yes, the country's biggest network will offer this and you can register starting November 6 through their iPhone site http://www.smart.com.ph/iphone. I've seen it personally and it'll somehow change the way you see the iPhone. It has changed just about everything and also introduce the brand new tech 3D touch. It gives the user third dimension options and make you the user take advantage of that.

iPhone 6 Rose Gold
The Rose Gold iPhone6s and the Samsung Note 5 side by side
The one I saw was also in Rose Gold, ladies would drool over this unique color Apple offers as it's very trendy. Judging by the people who saw this on my Facebook timeline, they do find it very nice much like its predecessors but more so because of its attractive look. It's also very light as compared to the iPhone 5/5S models but still built tough with the iPhone6S' alloy 7000 series aluminum. It's also available in Space Gray, Silver and Gold. It also works much like a desktop computer as it has 64 bit architecture, 70% faster CPU, and 90% higher GPU that games would be totally smooth. The camera also can take 12MP shots easily, 4K rich videos and live photos of which you can take a couple of seconds recorded before that shot happens. The Touch ID also is faster, making it easier to purchase apps, unlock your phone without the need to press codes on the phone when you need it. Best of all, it's going to be better if you're connected to SMART's network so you've got content at your fingertips, whenever, wherever!

iPhone 6 Rose Gold

You can now register if you are interested in getting this newest iPhone model at http://www.smart.com.ph/iphone. If you need more information about the device, please check out the product page at http://www.apple.com/iphone. I'm putting this on my wishlist today!

TV5 Renews Contract Of Derek Ramsay

Tuesday, April 28, 2015

Here's more happy news from the happy network! Your favorite hunky and sexy guy Derek Ramsay from TV5 just signed another contract with them for another three years. This means you're definitely going to see him again in top rating programs and reality shows from the Kapatid network.

Present in the contract signing were TV5's Head of Programming Atty. Dan Padua, JLD Management's Jojie Dingcong, TV5's Chief Entertainment Content Officer Wilma Galvante and TV5's President and CEO Noel C. Lorenzana.

Derek Ramsay says "I am so happy to have renewed my contract with TV5. I'm still working with them in top "Mac N Chiz", Extreme Series "Kaya Mo Ba To?!" and tons of other things in the pipeline. I have no complaints, it's hard, it's something new for the viewers. I had to give back to the network for it to grow. There were rumors in the past of me going to other networks but I immediately quashed rumors because it would be disrespectful to the network. TV5 allows their artists to grow, my priority is with the network and I'll work around it. I have to work hard to make the network bigger and better. The series, we'll be sitting down on that. The Mac N Chiz program is such a happy set, I look forward to always be with John and Empoy in the show. In the Extreme Series, I will do everything except rats. I can do anything but not that. I'd like to also see Kidlat be back on TV, that project is hard but when you see the kids even those from far flung areas without electricity and they call you that hero, the happiness is insurmountable. I'd like to see that be back on TV. TV5 looked me up, this is my home and I'm very very happy here and what we could concentrate more is perhaps movies in these next three years. I'd rather sing than dance, but I'm not too keen on that. I'd rather jump a building than dance. I don't want to injure my self doing that. We're going to get bigger and better and I'll help the channel, thank you for te trust, it's mixed feelings, I'm definitely enjoying my stay in TV5."

TV5 ran a cute throwback video and how his journey with them went like in Amazing Race, Kidlat, Sa Bawat Sandali, and the three years was fun as they say. He's got adoring fans all throughout the Philippines especially the kids who's faces light up when they see him in costume was just priceless. Ms. Wilma Galvante also divulged afternoon shows, movies and another sitcom for him, he didn't know that was going to happen so he was very emotional about it. He has gotten a lot of complements from a lot of people and he's ready to make more good scenes so that even more people would see it. The new one is in the works and they're still in the planning stage.

No talent fee increase he says and only stayed the same as the one he had 3 years ago. Mr. Lorenzana even said "He's the biggest male star there is in Philippine TV and aside from his good looks, it's who he is that personifies TV5. During the Amazing Race he could have been in the VIP section but he chose to be with the rest contestants, I mean who does that at all!? Every person in the board were unanimous, we didn't hesitate to renew him in TV5."

You have to watch out what would happen with Derek as he's definitely up for a challenge.
