MOIRA Named as Maria Clara Virgin Sangria Brand Ambassador

Thursday, September 14, 2023

It looks like a fruitful year for the queen of emotional songs Moira Dela Torre as she becomes the face and brand ambassador for Maria Clara VIRGIN Sangria. This is a new non-alcoholic variant of the well loved Sangria brand from Desteliria Limtuaco & Co. Inc.

At the event, Moira says "I've tried it both and I liked the original one, but when I don't want to drink I love the non alcoholic variant. I love that the campaign because they want you to have it in moderation. It fits my lifestyle as it is mostly when I rest, when I want to celebrate. If could be completely honest, I had to think about it a lot because it's an alcoholic brand, I drink it and in Olongapo we often have this in parties with family. I wanted to make sure it's a brand I wanted to represent. The brand has been a friend, like my music, I don't think I deserve the accolades, I see a lot of people who also work harder than me. I loved it so much already, which is why I said yes."

She adds "This is my band, they can vouch for me because I don't drink much but I do get woozy really early, I remember I only had 3 glasses in the shoot. It was not hard to write the song because in previous years I was already doing jingles, I knew how they wanted to sound like, this was quite different from the things I do. This would be good to listen to while having a glass, I wanted to make the music accompany what they are doing. I don't really drink before I perform, I just really sound like this normally."

Ms. Limpe-ao says "We try to treat it as a healthier alternative, and it's got 7 grams per serving with zero calories. She is a very talented singer and songwriter, she can communicate through music and understand what we are doing, to send the message that you have a friend with Maria Clara, she fits to be the spokesperson for this campaign, aside from being beautiful and talented. She is who we choose as our new endorser."

Ms. Olivia Limpe-ao was also joined by executives from Destileria Limtuaco & Co. Inc. were there to also witness the event and told us how this endorsement came about. The original song was perfect to assure their patrons that "Everything will be alright!'

If you've loved the original Maria Clara Sangria and just refrained from drinking alcohol, this certainly is a treat because of the really sweet and fruity taste this has without the guilt. It's having "choices" that make this a very attractive alternative while you're out with friends, family or plainly in a party. It also has less sugars for those who are watching their intake and yes, 0 percent alcohol.

For those who would want a taste of it, Maria Clara Virgin only costs PHP 192.00 and is now available in leading supermarkets and stores nationwide.

The Samsung Galaxy J series has impressed a lot of people lately that it made their choice for a primary phone. I couldn’t blame them though because it has been the best as far as mid range phone goes as it’s got the efficient HD camera, a battery that can last the whole day, and the capability to process tasks unprecedented in the phones on this price range.

Michelle Vito for the PINK Samsung J7 duo

This year, they are taking the game seriously as Liza Soberano’s real life BFF Michelle Vito joins the fun in introducing the new Galaxy J7+ and J7 Pro that now comes in pink. Liza wasn’t in the event but she gave a message, to start #LizChelle. They’re now in the new TVC with Michelle Vito and as Liza puts it, it was doubly fun!

"We Will Survive" Bids Farewell

Monday, July 11, 2016

The Melai Cantiveros and Pokwang starrer "We Will Survive" is on their final week and to thank everyone, they got in on their presscon this evening.

All the way from the scenic province of Albay, the two ladies have gone through troubles in family, love and relationships but weathered through it all. Their friendship has been tested quite a number of times but still stood through all these because after all, this is their ultimate friendship goal.

Now, they're loving life with their husbands Edwin (played by Jeric Raval) and Pocholo (played by Carlo Aquino). They have also showed insurmountable care for their child Jude (played by Josh De Guzman), but then Maricel got into an accident on their wedding day. The series also stars Bea Saw, Regine Angeles, Ahron Villena, Viveika Ravanes, Bing Davao, Alcris Galura, Joshua Zamora, Regine Tolentino and Ms. Vangie Labalan.

On the finale, they promise to make it even more exciting and during the presscon Pokwang mentioned "Don't ever miss the last few episodes because the writers have really done a great job with the story. We were not disappointed with it when we read the script and you'll know if Melai's character will wake up or not, or if they're really going to end the story happy." Melai adds "Working with Carlo and Jeric was so awesome because you get to eat a LOT. His Dad even prepares 3 Kilios of peanuts so everyone in the set could have something to eat. We didn't have kissing scenes because we were keeping it safe even for the young ones to watch. I will really miss working with Mama Polwang and I hope this isn't the last time. We will remain friends."

Make sure to watch this week because you'll love how this will all end. Watch the press Facebook Live post on my channel Facebook.com/kumagcow :)

Kim Chiu and Xian Lim for Past Tense

Friday, November 28, 2014

Two of the biggest stars and lovely couple or best "friends" from ABSCBN, Kim Chiu and Xian Lim stars in this movie that puts value in time and love to a different spin. KIMXI as they are known by their fans, has brought out their third movie. This is called Past Tense. A fat guy named Babs played by hunky Xian Lim only wanted one girl, he did all the things she wanted, made favors for her, even treated her like a princess. She was someone she loved from the very start. As with fat people, much like this blogger writing the article (hehe), when you're on the wide side physically... you could only be seen by people with your attributes, and don't even see the possibility of love and relationships. I've been in that road many times, I could definitely relate to Babs.

Belle, played by Best Actress winner Kim Chiu on the other hand had so many things going for her. She had the best friend who never left her side all these years, someone who made her happy when she's down. She also had someone following her around like a dog on a leash and always tried to find ways to see things are perfect for her. Did she really turn the other way and left Babs with a broken heart? Is she really that cruel to fall for a different guy who's got all the nicest physical attributes she always wanted? Is she throwing all those memories away?

Now what would she do if she meets her future self? When Belle of the future (played by Ms. Aiai Delas Alas) comes back and haunts Babs, tells him exactly what to do to get Belle of the current day to love him. Would Babs become the hunky man Belle would fall in love with?

There are so many questions but only a few minutes to watch their movie showing on theaters can answer it. Kim Chiu and Xian Lim never looked better together and with this third movie that they've done together, it's going to be one funny, romantic and learning experience that they want to give to their fans. This they assured us during that afternoon.

This romantic comedy film is directed by Mae Cruz Alviar. She says they want to show Xian and Kim different than the other movies who may have had the same fat suited characters. It's not going to be similar and she made sure to follow and suggest changes to the project as this is a collaboration. They're not that strict following the script and all their ideas pretty much was a breeze to insert in the movie. They didn't have any problems because just like Kim and Xian, they were very game. Kim says she even surprises Xian on some scenes because she wanted it to look natural, she wanted it funny so when they go and take a scene, she puts in different lines to put Xian off. They laughed about it after the shoot.

By the way, Kim also said in this blogcon that she was glad that Xian does not get mad at her anymore when she plays tricks on him. In hindsight, everybody matures... even Xian and I fervently hope their friendship blossoms into something even bigger. Xian wishes that as well.

Kim Chiu, Xian Lim, the cast and the crew of Past Tense would want you to watch their movie shown in theaters nationwide! They said sorry on shows yesterday because the typhoon set off the delivery of copies to theaters, hence a little delay. Though now they're sure that you can watch them on theaters, so rush to the nearest mall... go hurry! Thank you Star Cinema for making another worthy film, I'll watch this weekend so see you in theaters!

My Destiny Gets Interesting with Ruru Madrid, Ashley Ortega and Gabrielle Garcia

Monday, August 04, 2014

Ruru Madrid, Ashley Ortega and Gabrielle Garcia, stars of My Destiny

Stars of the hit GMA show My Destiny Ruru Madrid, Ashley Ortega and Gabrielle Garcia are starting to make the story interesting in this evening primetime show. Looks like lucky Ruru Madrid and his character Paul Andrada is deemed wanted by the two other lady stars but he's not as fortunate with his parents that's bringing the grunt to their relationship. If they continue the trend, they'll probably be separated in the next few episodes and Paul will probably have to choose between them later on. Nicole Perez, Gabriella Garcia's character isn't too happy about the arrival of Alex (Ashley Ortega's character) when she acts like a confidant to Paul Andrada at his most difficult times. The question is, is she really just a shoulder to cry on? Or is she really gunning for Paul's love? She's her best friend, but what if she's really interested with Paul? Will that spell world war III? Possibly.

They are not the same though when they are not in character. Ruru Madrid, Ashley Ortega and Gabrielle Garcia are really obsessed with their craft right now and they continue to learn more about acting through workshops and immersing themselves on the role given to them. Remeber when Ruru appeared on Protege a few years ago? He might be the runner up there but he's getting big breaks from this station. Now he's even building up to be a triple threat, but he says he's not stopping there. He's so thankful that he's being given the chance to learn a lot because he says this is his passion. He's not just the teeny bopper he once was anymore and he can say that he's really getting serious about this. He's now being paired with Ashley Ortega which he also worked with in Dormitoryo and Bamboo Flowers. Their friendship is getting even stronger because working together in projects just made them closer which is very good since they are being honed as a love team. Ruru also says Ashley is so fun to be with and also works hard to make all their scenes as good as possible... because like him, Ashley's pretty involved in her craft. Ashley also says the same with Ruru and adds that there is no dull moment whenever he's around. Gabrielle Garcia, although a newcomer to the program says highly about her co stars and wishes to be with them more in the next few projects from GMA. They've also gotten to be with each other on workshops and she says she loves having friends as she continues to learn from professionals during the shooting days of this project.

Make sure that you watch "My Destiny" from Monday to Friday, week nights on GMA.

60th Anniversary of Pioneer: Stories of Friendship Video Competition

Friday, February 28, 2014

A few days ago, I was invited to a gathering in Makati by buddy Gian Viterbo of www.gadgetpilipinas.net indicating "Pioneer" on the invite. I didn't pay attention too much because I knew these guys were friends... so I figured whatever it was, I'm good with it! Since he's a tech blogger, I was under the impression that we were going to a tech event so we could check out electronic devices with the same brand name. Finding a whole lot indicating "Pioneer House" on the building we went to, I was a little dumbfounded when our other friends told me it's an insurance company. I was afraid of these things precisely of their "functions" because I feared they were always going to wait for my untimely demise. I went up their office and did the best thing any civilized guy of my stature would do, I sat down and listened.

They introduced themselves nicely and we all got comfy. They catered to different levels of clientele including huge Hollywood productions to that street vendor who had so little. That last part, of which I found really noble. Micro insurance is a really something they went serious with; and they delved explaining the difference of their company compared to others. Therein lies I guess a more meticulous way of explaining standards, plus rules, plus why they've got to stay in the industry for 60 years and survive as a business. I got more of the answers when their President and CEO Lorenzo Chan Jr. did his part.

At Pioneer Life Inc. he mentioned that aside from their quest to bringing in business, their main difference is having a "heart".

Then I said to myself, Heart?! Wait a minute... Where am I?! Care bear land?!

He shared one of their client's stories; and in a nutshell, they probably would on a normal circumstance only give the benefits when they're in dire straits - medically tested and proven that the person's health is at risk or if they already passed away just like any insurance company. They learned that the claim was for a man who was in the brink of having aneurysm; a condition that would worsen as days go by; and an operation was needed to get him out of harms way. They probably didn't have any responsibility legally if you talk about what's written on paper. He convened the people involved and talked about what would ""humanely" happen if they didn't act fast. Pioneer Life knew that they had to do something for the guy in this situation and got the good man a few days later the money expeditiously. They got so touched when the wife got back to them with a letter saying "Thank you!" in so many ways. He recovered from that ordeal and is still living a few more years with his family. That alone is a priceless thing for Pioneer Life Inc. to see and said that's what they mean by having a heart. Isn't that amazing?

Vice President for Marketing Services and Communications Ms. Len Pozon agrees with their Chaiman and CEO. The reason why they've built so much dreams in the years that Pioneer Insurance has been in this country is because they've made it a point that all their claims are made fairly within the limits of the various coverage programs that they have issued. They also have times when they've got to stop, listen and act not just to fulfill what is legally correct and rightfully "within the bounds" of what you have signed up and worked hard for. They have been here helping Filipinos build their lifetime dreams and all we have to do now is ask what they can also do for you.

Aside from that, they're holding a contest named "Stories of Friendship Video Competition" to university or college students ages 15 to 24 years old. They know how much Filipinos value relationships and this time, they're asking how you would produce a 3 minute or less video showing the value of FRIENDSHIP. It can be a narrative/music video or would be up to the student how to interpret it. Students can submit their entries on a brown envelope  with a filled out submission form (found in www.storiesoffriendship.com) together with a photocopy of their current Student ID, 3 DVD copies of the entry (max resolution 1280/720p MPEG-4/H264) and saved in MP4 video format. Make sure you label it "Pioneer Stories of Friendship Video Competition by (Name of Participant - School) and send it to Marketing and Services Communications at the 4th Floor Pioneer House Makati 108 Paseo de Roxas Legaspi Village, Makati City. This will run until April 21, 2014. Film and Advertising industry experts will judge and pick 8 entries and invite them to an awarding ceremony. Winners could win up to Php 120,000 in cash plus insurance coverage. There's also an Online Favorite Award to be chosen on May 23, 2014. Lucky voters for that part would win Php 5,000 and insurance coverage by the one and only PIONEER. If that isn't great news, I don't know what would!

Ciao!

Relationships and Heartaches; and I try to help my friends ^_^

EMO ako ngayon walang pakelamanan AMPFUFU!
(I'm EMO today don't mess with me!)

I am not a psychiatrist.. nor am I claiming that I am an expert in this field. I'm really not. But in my own sweet time, I try to help others cope with their dilemma. I have a colorful lovelife... some of them even are published in this blog but then again who cares! (NO!!!! don't even try to look for my love problems in the archives silly you!)

I try and help my friends whenever I can about their problems, (no not FINANCIAL ones!, I am not that rich...where did you get that idea?! sheesh!) and I've been like that for ages... I mean even in high school I was one of the few people you can run to and analyze things detrimental with matters of the heart. As corny as it sounds, I've loved and only share what I know works for me.Friends give me problems really... ^_^

These past few weeks, it seems to me that my friends are all in a ditch... rushing to me and ask about what they want to do with their own corny Love matters:

CASE # 1 FALLING OUT

Things were so nice when it started, Johndoe and his girlfriend Janedoe had a pretty nice relationship. They were inlove I guess. Johndoe just came from an OFF and ON relationship, he ended that and started this one with Janedoe. They had done it as well... a couple of times... I knew about it then coz Johndoe kept on bragging about it when we had a chance to talk...then a few weeks after... he messaged me and told me it was FAILING... why? he had a couple of reasons... but out of everything that he said... one thing was evidently happening... he was falling out of love for her... I did ask him why but all he said was... it was not like what it was.. (that was a lot of was O_O)... it just ain't working out anymore... he wanted to let go.... I told him not to do so... why? Janedoe#1 was not in the position to just let go of everything... she was madly inlove with him still... she ended up cursing him a couple of times... because of course as much as we "men" want to clean about breakups... we need a valid reason to tell women and not just "because we want to"... I only told him that the relationship that they had was not to be taken lightly... more so that the girl was already madly inlove... she will be hurt... I asked the guy to at least try to work it out and talk to her once more... he was pessimistic... and still opted for a breakup... but then again I instilled to him to be at least aware of the girl's feelings... try... at least try.... if it still ends up bad, then decide if it really is worth it to let go.... at least they both won't have the feeling of regret if ever things really do not work out with them both... at least they tried their best... a couple of months worth of a relationship is a BIG DEAL nowadays... I mean its not that common anymore that people stay a week or less than that LOLZ.... and I tried to tell him make amends and if things still went KAPUT! they would end up friends instead of hating each other because the other did not do their job keeping it... I btw kept it a point to at least end up friends with my ex's... we live in a small world! we'll bump into each other one day and at least they won't tell me I did not do my best saving the relationship... now isn't that neat?! ^_^ I'll be hearing from them soon I guess... if things did not work out... I'll let you know.

CASE #2 KUNG FU FIGHTING

This was my Ex's bestfriend... which I ended up being friends with... yeah I'm that friendly I guess but really that's part of the job to at least get to know your wifey's set of friends. Now back to him... this guy was in a couple of relationships in the past that did not really last... some only lasted weeks... months.... and now this one became serious... they were already together in an apartment... just living in.... and the trend was.. this was the most serious of all of them... I mean who on eart would not wish of someone you could end up forever with... well.. he thought it was forever...

So when they lived together... as expected... their own set of skeletons and demons went out of their closets and said hi and hello to both of them... and what used to be perfect and blissful in the beggining became a HELLHOLE after almost a year... their fights? it just became almost everyday... the former I LOVE YOU'S.... became I'LL SLAP YOU's... and what's worst is that... they both do it...funny as it sounds but it looks like a Kung Fu movie in their house.. threats here and there... slaps, words thrown at each other... blocks... pots pans and dinner plates flying across the room... (remeber house of flying daggers? ^_^ ) something they thought was forever... is now a big NIGHTMARE... yeah it is bound to end.

He asked me that he changed so they would both be happy... that it was not like him to just stand around and fight with someone every single day... telling me he wants to leave her already... its a good thing they didnt have a kid otherwise it would be more complicated I said.. I told him since it seems that its not working out, and they are already hurting each other he has to decide to end it all. He has the option to try and save it, but he was really not optimistic either. I said "You already know what to do...why ask me?!"... he said thanks that "it just became clear to him". So they'll probably talk this evening about it and make steps to out of each others nerves from hereon.

CASE #3 PROFESSIONAL LOVERS

Two people fell inlove... from the same group of friends where I was also included ended a few weeks ago. A Nurse and a Pharmacist which is an unlikely combination (coz in my mind if they live together the house would probably look like a hospital O_O) the guy (the Nurse) fell inlove with the latter (the pharmacist)... and so they did end up together... had done it as well... but things were not that great after a few weeks... The pharmacist who recently passed the board exams got a job as a med rep for a very reputable company... the nurse on the other hand wished to live and work abroad so he was fixing his papers already... both were busy... and on times that they only could meet, it rarely happened... because of schedule constraints. They ran out of time for each other... and small things, like going out with other friends and appointments became a BIG DEAL. They barely had time for each other yet the nurse was still going out with other people at times expected to be spent with the pharmacist. The pharmacist went ahead of the game and asked to temporarily give time off... a COOL OFF period as locally known here... but then the Nurse did not like that idea.... small fights here and there.... then they formally separated... I only still asked them to be friends... yes its ironic... but I wanted them to... since we are in the same group, I'd rather have them acknowledge each other.... have that be left behind... adn continue on this time as friends... now they are and even joking about it... I am happy this one ended this way. ^_^

So you see, I am not an expert.... but then again I try my best to fix things that are still feasible to fix... they ask my opinion, I just give them what I need them to hear... and not sugarcoat every word uttered off of my mouth... I'm happy some ended nicely.... and hopeful that the others will still be the same... after all... I'm just here for all of them... I'm a friend and I'd like to continue to be one. ^_^
