After letting us experience this about two years ago, the good people at TaskUs continued to spread their Ridiculously Good Culture, this time to the heart of Philippine islands called Bohol. It's capital Tagbilaran was the venue for the Grand Career Fair held at Metro Centre Hotel.
This is what TaskUs meant as "going where the talent is" as their company continues to grow despite global challenges caused by the pandemic. This was attended and supported by different Bohol educational institutiions, local government and non profit organizations, plus other training institutes aimed to employ talented Bol-anons this side of the world. Ms. Regina Aguila says "We have a different work culture at TaskUs and provide very competitive health coverage, wellness programs (free), career advancement opportunities. We call them teammates, and have always known how it positively impacts their work. This goes the same with the service they render for customers and the community."
TaskUs started in the developing city in 2019 and has made Lizzy's Playground an iconic workplace to be in this region. This is part of their "Work Hard, Have Fun" mantra that makes working in the company even more exciting. If you missed their job fair, fret not as you can show your intentions to join them via their website TaskUs.com/careers or their recruitment hubs.

JobStreet Dons New Look and Platform: Jobs That Matter
Friday, November 20, 2020
JobStreet is now celebrating their 25th year. Together with is is a huge change. A new look, a new platform, more features, it just sounds so good to see that they improve services. They want to empower not just the employers this time but also the job seekers. They call it aptly "“jobs that matter” and their executives were there to tell us all about it.
Ramesh
Rajandaran Chief Marketing Officer (Asia) at SEEK says “We need to deliver as a partner, lives have changed and it
is our duty to fill roles. Not all brands have been able to change and
survive. Jobstreet and JobsDB get 30 million hirees a month, and today
we are taking the next big leap with our brand. We are now optimized for
mobile, have personal home pages, a showcase of recommendations, search
via AI.”
Philip Gioca Country Manager for JobStreet Philippines added “Jobstreet has been in the country for years now and we need to be faster, it gives us something great. The new Jobstreet will get you 5x more career matches, for over 570,000 employers. Refreshing our brand will define the way we look and do things. Our colors represent our heart and passion, to get you to jobs that matter. “
They are now sporting a brand new logo, a new look and personality. They also officially launched the new JobStreet mobile application which is tailored to be streamlined and responsive for those looking for jobs and employers.
JobStreet now wants to thank the people that made it possible, the
employers who have been able to provides jobs to Filipinos. This is why
they launched #JobsThatMatter. JobStreet also will still be offering
jobs from across the country but can be filtered in regional ways. They
are changing their platform, but it will not require current data to be
changed. As of now, they have less job postings in the system but it is
steadily growing in the last three months because of the pandemic. The
changes they made was because they didn’t want it to be just a job
platform, but a career platform. This also includes putting all these
features in a mobile version which will make it easier for employers to
monitor manpower, and also for those who are applying for work so they
can easily get notified when they get the jobs.

Jobstreet.com Launches Own App!
Monday, September 16, 2013
The app is FREE and can easily be downloaded off the App Store or Google Play Store. It isn't even that big so it's light on memory. I downloaded it myself so I could try it out, I've always been able to use the website but this one's quite powerful. Case in point, you can set your preferred salary when finding a job.

Thoughts on Professional Fulfillment
Tuesday, February 22, 2011
I'm a Computer Engineer and I've been in the industry for over10 years. I must admit it has been a very tough climb in the corporate ladder and I have been trying my best to always get ahead of the pact. It wasn't easy for me to begin with; and so did my peers in college. I have friends in the Civil Engineering Department and since they are mostly project based the opportunities for them were a little scarce since the recession. If you are a civil engineer you will feel less involved in nation building because if you need to start off in an entry level position the salary range wouldn't be as nice if it was a white collar job. The field would be your playground and the chance of getting in just to have experience is very scarce. Road projects and skyscrapers built by Real Estate corporations would be a big deal but some of them would never even go near professional expectations. Since it is hard to get a job; the long withstanding hope for a better life would also be gambled. There are some sites like CIVILENGINEERJOBS.ORG who can help provide opportunities through a community; and if they only get to harness Information Technology to get these jobs it would be doubly easy since they are going to be the one sought for by the ones who need them.
I'm hopeful that someday it would be easy for everyone else to get a job. We all have our individual qualifications and some are brilliant than others. If we work on what we have and make that a deciding factor for business owners to choose us over thousands of applicants we would all get a better paying job and professional satisfaction which makes this world a better place for us and our loved ones.
Do you have plans to get a better job this year?! What would you do to make it to the top?! Let me know and comment on this page! =)

I'm trying to help a friend find a job. I don't even know if there are companies that would be able to get students or 2nd year college level but I think mine does. I'll ask HR later this morning so I can arrange if its possible. I'm also going to send his resume to a couple of friends who also work in the same industry to get this over with. I hate seeing people jobless when they have potential in the first place. This kid is also talented because he sings, if ever he decides to move forward with his singing career a fallback in the call center/BPO industry would be good. At least he is still going to use his voice and there aren't that much prejudice in getting undergraduates.
I'm a little scared about going out later heheh. I might run out of stories and get those crickets coming each time we pause and do nothing. Maybe if we get drunk we won't run out of it. I'll try that way if worst comes to worst!
I need a massage. Maybe I can ask her to go to a spa later so I can get laid este rest pala and have a few short courses. Maybe it'll be better if I get some sort of a couple package of sort but I'm not that desperate! Don't even think about that! Haha!
Looks like PAL workers are going on strike again and they are planning to cripple the operations of Philippine Airlines. What's wrong with this picture? Well we just had a travel ban from Hong Kong but even if there are airplanes full of Chinese people going to our country, its not that pretty to look at anymore if they decide to push for a strike. I can't blame them though because I saw their payslips. Imagine they are only taking home around 10K. It's like they work on land or something. Local airlines should at least be giving them the same salary in the region.
Sugar prices seem to be climbing. I don't think there is a crisis but what are they doing? Hoarding again?! Raising prices without notifying the government? Are they insane or are they really not thinking well??? They shouldn't do this while everyone's busy. It ain't right to put more burden to citizens who just want to make a living. Be rightful, be always considerate of other people. Isn't that too easy to understand?!
Anyway, I'll try calming down. There are more people suffering than me in the news so why am I complaining. =/ Shut up!
The Rising Case of Unemployment
Sunday, November 01, 2009
There are about 9.5% of the Americans that are currently unemployed. It is almost the same as in the Philippines which is pegged at 7.4%. That particular amount though is still contestable because if you somehow see the real situation from inside the country, it is definitely worst. This statistic may have been only garnered from the metropolis and not the whole Philippines. In my opinion, this may be around 30% more or less but we always could have more that what is really written. Thousands of jobs were lost in the United States because of the financial crisis and the Federal government has tried numerous ways of aiding these citizens via a stimulus package. The problem is, the economy is only slowly recovering and the money is already 3/4 of its way running out. I do not even know if some of the industries would survive without it. Some were saved I know because of the loans that were given to the others but on Automotive and Industrial companies, I think it would depend on the stability after this quarter because some of the banks have not began asking their clients for a restructured form of payment. They are probably not informed too of the opportunity to do so. Families have already gone out of their homes and only grabbed whatever they can of their belongings. Some of them only did bring the clothes on their back and got everything else to be auctioned off or sold as is. It is a pretty rough time for them I know, but the rest of the world also felt this too.
Coming from a middle class family in this country I am also inadvertently involved in the workforce that may have also affected a small part of the United States job loss. But if you think about it too, there may have been more companies closing if they did not resort to have those jobs outsourced instead. That is the point of most them since they only would probably afford to get the job done with half the price rather than keep it within the circulation on a dwindling environment in the US. If you want to talk about India, they can pay 10 people to do a single job in the US. Where else should these companies go to keep themselves afloat? Why should they compromise continuing to do business in the US if the only tax cuts they will receive are going to come from the Federal government who only does this on a temporary basis? In this day and age there should always be quality in the kind of work people are into for the rest of the country. That is the only way they will survive. If you get the right people for the right job appropriate for their skills and experience, then there would be no losses that will be reported annually for these large corporations.
I know it is quite hard now to find a job but I found this article from A HARRISON BARNES about "future prospects that are determined by the company we keep" that talks about people who you need to hire or work with in the first place. If you fall into these categories, no matter what changes you make in your policies; you will still continue to have your other leg in the grave. Making the right choice in the people you hire will make or break you in times like these. This is very important considering each cent you earn or spend needs to be accounted for because it is crucial to the success of your company. This is really a good point executives must take a look so they do not even get people who claim stupendous bonuses in times that they only survived because of federal help. That would really affect the greater picture (the economy) and the individual family. You might want to take a look at the career advice articles that they have on their site. Those were really very fun to start to read since it covers the basics. The street smart point of view was also truly helpful. I understood the most technical terminologies since they gave time to explain each subject further. There are also parts of it that lets you decide your career goal; it is worth to spend your time on while browsing for the other useful items they have for you.
If you want to find a job and be successful at it, you must make the right choice now. Who you are going to spend years with anyway? You must be 100% sure of what path you are going to take since the success or failure of your company will be reflected in your resume. If they make a huge name in their industry then that would be another feather in your hat. Make sure you drop by A HARRISON BARNES too for expert career advice and easy job search that directly gets it from corporate pages. Good luck!
