Daily Moo's 10142010

Friday, October 15, 2010

After a long time it's time for the Daily Moo!

My Aunt's cremation went well. Relatives came by the dozen. Mom prepared food for the wake which she and my cousin sponsored. Turned out they had so much people who came there for it and they almost didn't get to eat. (Madami kasi MASIBA! Gusto pa ng Kanin! Hahah!) Though I couldn't blame them because my Mom makes the best Caldereta and Pancit Molo (no JOKE!). She even gets the ingredients from Iloilo or Bacolod before she cooks em here! Really authentic!

I'm so excited a MUJI store is opening here in Manila. It's in Bonifacio High Street and I couldn't help but think of hoarding organizers. I need that in my room. I can also start my Christmas shopping there. Oooh just thinking about how I'd spend on my card is getting me sick! hahah I have lots of plane tickets and hotel reservations to pay for heheh

I'll choose some rad shoes again for a coat and tie I picked up yesterday. I think it is becoming an obsession. Well not so much... just don't count the number of shoes I have on the shelf and I'm good as cured.

I'm off... gotta get home early and go out too. I wonder where my feet will get me today. I don't have friends on Fridays anymore. Sob story there!

Covering a wedding on Saturday, wish me luck with that!

Manila's Finest PI Andres

Bantay

Tagpi

Andres a swashbuckling private investigator was hired by the Manila chief of police for an assignment. He was in the prime of his youth, women adore him while guys envy him. His Mom was white as Redford; and Dad was black as Norman... he turned out to be as brown as Charlie. His name was legendary, since he was also a former member of the vamped up Manila Mayor's secret service. 3 women were by his side as associates; namely Marcela, Lorenza, and Delfina. The Manila City hall and Mehan Garden is not what you think it is. It served as their headquarters in the outskirts of Manila; marble slabs flipped off at a turn of a stone... they become mainframe computers and super machines. Various high powered armaments adorn it's walls while each white pillar contain Mammoth Tanks with high grade ultrasonic capabilities that could rip up a whole army in seconds. They are currently investigating a gang of Saibai Men said to have set foot in Manila to wreak havoc and employ street children for petty crimes. Intelligence reports these Saibai Men had weapons at their hideout in the South Harbor, Manila; it consists of rusty bolos from which death wil come from tetanus and not from its blunt blade, aluminum alloy baseball bats and a few hundred sumpak units. Apparently they were going back to the basics; since vintage was having a comeback, he wore a Dick Tracy like outfit while the girls wore 60's inspired numbers that made twiggy envy them. The Saibai Men caused quite a ruckus in the suburbs but they always made it look natural as if it weren't organized as it is. Someone is surely heading the operations and Andres wasn't confident his 3 associates could handle it (no matter how much "girl power" hype was present) so he went on alone on this quest.

He had 2 newly trained ASPIN dogs to accompany him named Bantay and Tagpi. Bantay was fitted with rocket propelled grenade launchers (hailed from MILF - JemaahIslamia technologies) and meat grinder teeth while Tagpi through advanced engineering had environmentally friendly bio diesel flame throwers, long razor sharp claws and bionic eyes. They all had overwhelming power written all over them when people see them on the streets. Andres was quite sure he'll find information on the pier. Even if it was a little far from his area of responsibility he scoured every Japan Surplus store and asked around for the Saibai Men which was the operating in Manila. It was a little dangerous since he was literally in enemy territory but he never hesitated. The Manila Police reported over transistor radios that the Sampaloc - Espana area were overtaken by them already. Students from UST were forced to give in lunch money, as locals passed out from the stench of flood from man made waste the Saibai Men prepared for over a period of 7 years. It was planned all along. Andres knew that he needed to see who started it all; he went through the side streets and went on to the Bureau of Customs. Who wouldn't suspect something fishy in a government office anyway! He secretly monitored the movement as these Saibai Men were being moved by the hundreds through huge cargo container vans. Andres immediately sought Bantay and Tagpi into action shooting ship cranes disabling them from carrying and taking Saibai Men defense forces inside the pier. Andres hastily ordered Bantay to immediately launch several missiles on the other boats since more of their minions were taking arms already. Tagpi on his own slashed his way through the rushing forces from the Saibai Men's front. They were no match for him.

Andres rushed to the commissioner's office and got the lead from bystanders that he was the culprit behind this brouhaha. Apart from another fleet of Saibai Men in the midst there were several mutants who stood guard for the man leading this operation. To get to that area he had to go through several walls put up on the camp cum South harbor. At this time a huge airplane flew on top of him and dropped several big boxes attached to gigantic parachutes. When it landed the boxes flipped open and there were Mammoth Ultrasonic tanks in it. The top cover opened and the three gorgeous ladies Marcela, Lorenza, and Delfina were all driving it.

Marcela, Lorenza, and Delfina

Bantay and Tagpi soon followed eliminating some of the Saibai Men guarding the gates. Andres hopped in and got on one of the tanks, fired it up and the first charge was shot. Then a huge wave came out of the tesla coil like front of the tank immediately tearing down the walls and obliterating stuff and Saibai Men that were on the way. They proceeded to the last one which was attached to the building... bore a hole on it exposing who the culprit was. "Hold it right there!" said Andres. When the smoke cleared they saw one familiar face carrying a couple of bolo's on his hand, he was juggling it and throwing several ones to Andres. It was the Chief of Police that hired him... shocked as Andres was he managed to dodge some of the blades; but there were still some that went through and got him wounded. He's doing hand to hand combat now and it wasn't easy battling it out with the cop. Boom!, Pak!, Thud!, Kapow!... Andres managed to cripple the cop, he's got an Aikido blackbelt to thank for that. On the ground, choking like a little kid he asked the cop why he did this... cop mustered strength to take a few seconds off the hold and spit on his face. Andres pressed a few nerves and got the cop to talk. "I needed an alibi to kill people and you were the perfect excuse... you spoiled my plans, so now we'll both die!"... Andres saw the cop press something within his shirt, he was full of c4 blocks inside his shirt. In 10 seconds it'll explode, so he hurriedly asked everyone to leave the premises. "KABOOOOOOOM!!!" the South harbor building exploded and everyone got out eventually... the girls got Andres out of the rubble. "Next time you play something like this alone we won't be here!" said Marcela. "Nah, I'm sure I can handle it!" said Andres grinning while clearing up everything on his face.

The Good Looking, Safe Ride

Monday, October 11, 2010

When I was in college there was only one guy I always with. He's my best friend Louie. We go way back; and if you ask him about who I am he'll probably tell you a lot than I normally would. He knows what I do behind the camera; and so do I with him. We met through a common friend almost hitting each other but we ended up getting along really well. We finish each others' sentences now and even stay late till the wee hours of the morning. He even taught me how to ride a motorcycle and I enjoyed it I was planning to buy a big one since I adore the ones I saw in MI2, have you watched that movie which Tom Cruise starred in?! Did you see the great bikes and motorcycle helmets shown there? How I wish I could have one of those!

My friend had to work because he just started a family. On his way to work a white plate motor bike cut him off the road and got him flying through the air. Unfortunately he didn't wear any protective gear and it almost got him bed ridden less you know what. He could have been better dressed in real deal motorcycle clothing and got tougher gear; and that was a big lesson he learned a little too late. I stayed with him in the hospital for a few months until he was able to attend physical therapy sessions. It was hard on him, his family and me. Today he spends doubly hard getting a job and keeping it. All that because he wasn't suited up for biking!

It pays to be prepared and safe. Life is indeed very fragile. I never thought it would happen to someone very close to me let alone my best friend. We need all the things that can protect us from harm's way. If it's going to cost me more than black leather pants then I'm all for it. It's that plus the fact that I look good in leather jackets too. I heard the on line store called leather up has jackets, helmets and boots on their catalog. We might as well take a look at the armored jackets, SHOEI helmets (which I personally prefer) and great flame designed boots that they have because we can get it at half the price! Isn't that sweet! We get to protect ourselves and get the best deal too. I better tell some of my friends about it. We need to be better equipped these days so we won't be sorry when accidents happen.

Do you have your own motorcycle story to tell?! Let me know!

Happy Birthday Jepoy!

After a busy weekend, I never stopped going out until Sunday afternoon. I know I still have a lot of things to do at home but I needed something to get my mind off of what happened. To make the long story short I met up with bloggers. Indeed, you have seen that they are a great bunch of people; talking to them was really nice and intellectual. Bloggers are smart. I went home pretty late for stuff I had to do at home and the funeral but it was well worth it. I got to see new faces; and it was really nice... plus we got to celebrate Jepoy's birthday! (Be nice don't forget to greet him! Heheh)

So without further ado, here are some of the photos I took of our get together. It's just group photos but you get to see who went there plus Anna who came in after a few hours. Sorry didn't take too much photos, you can probably see more of these on Jepoy's and Xprosaic's blog. Xprosaic actually was the one who organized this so THANKS! and nice meeting yah John Lloyd hyukhyuk! XD

You Think You're Cooler Than Me?!

Wednesday, October 06, 2010

I want to believe in love but it doesn't seem to always work. Why do I often ask myself if I want to love again when I don't even care anymore if I end up with someone or not? I'm a walking psychological nightmare; what have I turned myself into?! Is this all I'm going to be? Am I going to just linger in an entirely abysmal future of failed relationships?! Sheesh... I don't like this feeling... I am so down right now I could knock at hell next door. Hello melon collie... how have you been these past few years?!

I need to be hopeful in more ways than one. I'm pretty difficult to understand in times like these. There were times I was so desperately in love with a friend. That didn't end quite nicely too. I think I never moved on from that either. If I meet her again I probably would feel awkward and lose that sanity... if there is still some left. Haaaay... the last time I felt like this was ages ago. I can't say "I told you so!" to "myself" for obvious reasons. I almost forgot what it felt to be human. I hate it... I hate it...

Love shouldn't be this complicated. I know se* isn't but look at what's happening now. You think I should revert back to my emo rocker days?! Nah.. I didn't look too cute that time (but I'm trying hard to stay not cute LOL). I miss what I had. I thought it was forever but I guess sometimes their forever is so short. What's up with women these days, can't they just listen and understand me first before demanding anything?! Do they think they can just get another man cooler than me?! I doubt it!

You think you're cooler than me?! =)

If You Were In My Rubber Shoes

I am trying my best to go to the gym every day. I have work on weekdays but once I go out of the office I can go there because it is literally just beside it. I am also trying to do fun runs on weekends at Fort but I haven't prepared for anything like that. Initially I just did it for maintaining a healthy lifestyle but these days it probably is a necessity to shock myself with different workout regimens as advised by my physical trainer. I don't hold back on the food intake since I am stressed but I need to try running now to compensate for it. I already have the basic gear and one thing that I think I should replace is my running shoes. I've got a lot of shoes but I never invested on these ones for athletic activities. I need to buy a decent pair soon because my old one looks worn out.

I am currently trying to replicate everything on treadmill and it seems that I can do 5 or 10 kilometers on an easy day. I wouldn't be gunning for a marathon since that would take time to prepare but this particular distance seems achievable. I would probably have an easier run if I do it on real pavement but right now I'd settle for the air conditioned confines of the gym. If I win one of those running events I'll let you know. As for now my quest for another pair of shoes is on. I already have 30+ (for different occasions) but I wouldn't mind another one!

I'm having a few laughs looking at the photos I shot when I began photography. I didn't care about the quality of photo I posted. If I shot it, I'll still try to make it work... that's just a nono now. I love the concepts but the shots are just horrible haha!

I don't want to show them. Maybe some but not all of them.

I just went to my Aunt's funeral. A lot of my relatives were there. I didn't know some of them because we are a pretty large family. I really am sad about what happened. Cousins will be here on Friday. I hope they are okay. I hate funerals, I hate seeing people die.

I didn't know about K12. It's the term they use for kindergarten to grade 12. Apparently it is going to be the standard of education in the 2012 school year. From kindergarten, there will be grade 1-6 for elementary, grade 7-10 for junior high and 11-12 for senior high. It's pretty much going to be the same as with other countries. We're the only one left in Asia that is still implementing the old one. How late is that?! O_O

I don't have good news today. I just slept the whole afternoon. I didn't get online at all. I had a headache this morning but it went away. Maybe that's a thing to thank the one above for. I still hate priests and bishops... I almost want to hit one particular person because of that. I hope this is not a permanent one. I'm a good Christian but if I see some unscrupulous people use the pulpit for their own interest, I'll walk out of the church too. Wait.... something tells me I haven't been going to church hehe. =)

OK Game!

One of my photography groups is in shambles now. I know some of the facts and it ain't really good hearing the stories. I wanted to be impartial because I know most of them. We are pretty close. It's just so sad to see this happening to a very promising bunch of people. I don't blame them but it would have been nicer to inform everyone first before doing this. Now that people felt betrayed everything's just become complicated. They need to get all the things that was owned by the group to be still in the group. Where is this thing called "Word of honor"? Apparently it might have been swept away by floods brought about the afternoon monsoon rains haha!

I'm playing Sonic Rivals in my PSP. I got a few new games downloaded over the weekend. I think I should often do that so I always get interested in my gadgets. Unfortunately I couldn't do the same with my Playstation 2. It's just gathering dust now in a box somewhere. I want to have that converted so I can play more titles. I'm looking for more but this one is keeping me busy like Mario Kart. I love this! Do you have any suggestions?

My Aunt died this morning. She will be in Paz. I have to wake up early so I can go there and help them out. After that I'll go to work. This is a pretty busy day indeed! My sincere condolences to my cousins in Canada and the US, now you have to go back to the Philippines. This is really sad news but what can we do, its life!

See you guys later! I'll be blogging from work! (image from IGN no copyright infringement intended)

Moving South: Peace and Quiet

Saturday, October 02, 2010

I'm going to have a short trip to the south so I could get my things to our house there. I've been going there every weekend and it has cost me a lot. If you think about it, I'm probably going to have problems moving big furniture because it wouldn't fit the back of the van. It makes me wish some houston moving company would come and help me. It would have been faster and a lot better. I know how hard it is going to get when that time comes. I haven't even finished decorating it yet because I don't have the swing I plan to put on the porch. I'm still trying to get the table and country style pieces from a couple of stores. This is going to be great!

Having the best things in life was one of the reasons I started writing. With this in the works I'm sure I'll have my own sweet refuge where no one would be able to find me. It's pretty far from Manila but that is one of the charming things about it... its remoteness from the city. It's pretty hard to travel but the benefits of peace and quiet seem to have outweighed it. I want to see my family to enjoy that too in the near future. After all, it was bought for them.

That just made me think a lot... sometimes I enjoy the noise of the city and also the quiet countryside. How about you?!

Daily Moo's 10012010

It's my Dad's birthday today! I arrived pretty late but we still went out for dinner. I was not tipsy from drinking beer again that morning. Yeah after two months of not drinking here I go again. Anyway, we had a lot of japanese food and yoghurt. What's important is that we still spent time together. It was really nice to do that!

The CBCP is really not the ones who should tell people what to do with their lives. Stick to religion. Stop meddling with politics. Stay on your churches and don't ever dictate what people should do and threaten them to be excommunicated from the roman catholic faith. I will ban you bishops from viewing my blog hahah!

SK and barangay elections are near and local officials are already filing for their candidacy. I wonder what will happen to the notion not to have SK groups anymore. I think they ought to be removed from the system because it is a waste of money. They only organize basketball games anyway, any kid could do that.

Their are a lot of things on the mind of the ERC because power corporations say there is ample amount of electricity but there are still blackouts in Mindanao. I wonder what solutions they are going to give... a nuclear plant perhaps? We just need that, but it really has to be safe!

I admit, I'm watching ANTM reruns again. I'm obviously looking for inspiration! LOL!

Who ever said shooting high fashion is bad for the morning?! I'm doing that now, wish me luck!

Before I end this post, may I just say CBCP ULOL! Hahahah! XD
