The typhoon passed midnight and now comes the grueling task of making shelters and giving out relief goods again. I'm glad though that only a few people died because we were ready. They died because of accidents too and not because of the flooding and bad weather. For all the people complaining why Noy wasn't in Pagasa, think about it... he's got men there getting paid to do their jobs... does he really need to be there in the first place?

There are fallen trees, old ones, avalanche, soil erosion's on the side of the road and the northern part of Luzon is not accessible anymore. You can still traverse the original route but will be able to reach Santiago City in Isabela only. Anything further than that is under trees. Heavy ones that need heavy equipment to be moved.

Just in, the Department of Education just announced suspension of classes at 12 noon. How in the world are the kids supposed to go home when it's raining like hell right now. They should have done that this morning! Sheesh!

I'm contemplating on going to the Movie premier but I already committed yesterday so I'm going to do what I said and go there for this one. I don't have a date but I have a friend with me. At least I had someone to talk to heheh.

I'm still doing some layouts and it is not that appealing to me. Anyway I'll see what I can do to jazz this up.

See you guys later, gotta go to Greenbelt 3.

Typhoon Juan

Monday, October 18, 2010

In about an hour from now, Typhoon Juan is going to leave the land of the Philippines off the coast of La Union. At around midnight it will leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility and head off either East China or if it goes north it will go to Taiwan. It is so great that the predictions proved to be accurate because it is causing great damage. If I didn't have blinds on my window a few of my appliances might have ended up wet. It has been a lifesaver since I was a kid. It shields me from the sun too when I wake up late. I don't want to crisp up you know!

Weather has been pretty rough on us today. They even say life is unfair. We need the torrential rains so we can have some water to drink and fill up our reservoirs. I heard we are in normal levels even if the rainfall has been pretty rough. That's around 60-120 mm in a single day. The wind's pretty fast too that it ripped roofs and house walls off cities in the north. I'm glad to be safe in the refuge of my home and got my stuff still dry after that. We're all hoping for the best and I hope in some way we could find a way to prepare better so we didn't have casualties. As for me I'm getting my other windows fixed and fitted with blinds so I stay safe. Who's up for a natural shower?! Typhoon Juan might get us really wet as it goes out to the South China Sea. I wish we are always as ready as we are now. So we can have tea in the refuge of our own homes not worrying about anything when this happens!

What happened in your neck of the woods?!

Tingzon-Sambrano Wedding

Teaser Tingzon-Sambrano Wedding

As you may have read on my previous entries I had a wedding to shoot this last weekend. I prepared ahead of time for this one because I know like all the unions I shot before the day was going to be long. Michael Olino of oleerakamolee.multiply.com was the lead photographer for this gig and the call time was a little earlier than usual. Why you ask?! I had to go from QC to Bacoor, Cavite for this particular one and oh boy I was in for something good!

I haven't met the couple personally since I didn't shoot the prenup; but I saw their photos already like a week ago. To tell you the truth... I envy couples that are getting married, this one in particular was 15 years in the making. I overheard their stories from family members when we were resting. Imagine that... I can't even get a girlfriend to last more than three years and these guys are together 5 times what I can do. Amazing! Just amazing! It was just fate!

The bride and her family was very busy preparing for the day and everyone was in line for hair and make up. I got to talk to their grandma (that really looked young for someone her age) and had a few things discovered about their relationships. Things were not as they seem a few years ago but it turned out okay. They talked, became so close and inseparable ever since. God must have put these guys together for something good because they were all there to celebrate Ramon & Yvonne's union. I saw something special from a third person's point of view. I was glad to be part of this shoot, pardon me for saying this but these guys are crazy... they really know how to have fun!

After preparations, we went to the church and got out shots. It was raining hard outside but it was short and much like a blessing. When we got to the reception even some of their games and presentations were really fun. I specifically enjoyed the dance their relatives prepared for them at the end of the evening. Imagine a whole family dancing... from a kid to their folks... I know I couldn't do that for fun. Let alone to be witnessed by many. They are a great couple... it added to how great their families are.

To Mon and Yvonne, here's to you and your family! Wish you guys the best things life can offer!

I am currently alone in the office with no one. I can't even see the guard from where I am and the room is so big. I wonder if the ghost they were telling stories about would appear for me. That would be a sight to behold! LOL

They said it was a kid running around but to tell you honestly I didn't see one here. I'm clairvoyant and I've seen ghosts at home, aside from that and the hauntings I had in the past I could see some in other places but not in the office. I know, you can say I'm weird but I was also a skeptic like you... when I saw one and even touched me I freakin believe them now! Go ahead and do it if you want to... invoke spirits and they will surely come!

Anton of Pusangkalye.net just invited me this Saturday for an event in MOA. I hope I can be available by then... I'm crossing my fingers though and I hope I don't have to do photography stuff that day. =)

I'm listening to news on a halo halo radio I bought from Chowking a few months back. I bought gold eveready batteries for this and it hasn't gone out yet. It's pretty cool for emergency days like this. I bought something good... FINALLY!

@gasolinedude is around town from SG. He met with Glentot aka wickedmouth.com and Steph of traveliztera.blogspot.com, apparently he's on a tight schedule so he won't be able to go on weekends to meet the rest of us. At least he got his way meeting Steph coz I guess he's got a crush on her hehe XD Jepoy likes her too but they won't admit it. My blog my rules kapish? LOL
Jepoy is sick. I wish he's okay. Hope he's fine. He got hugged by steph this evening. That'll get him cured in no time! LOL

The super typhoon is about to hit Luzon where Metro Manila is. It's a little up north so we shouldn't be worried. It's raining a lot though. People are afraid it's going to be the same as Ondoy. There are classes tomorrow though, only Regions 1 and 2 have em suspended. It hasn't stopped raining there since yesterday and boy the winds are carrying roofs and uprooting trees now. Hope everyone is going to be safe. Wear condoms! LOL

I need to finish the photos now. See yah wouldn't wanna be yah! =)

Loving City Breaks!

I'm so happy when the weekend comes. I think it's because I get to take a break from work and do photography. I'm getting pretty serious about it too so I go out of town to private functions, fashion shows and a little rest and recreation. To tell you honestly I haven't gone out for a while and never went out of the city like I used to. That's why I need cheap city breaks every now and then. I guess you need to see local sights first if you haven't been there. I found out pretty late that I need to do this just like what other countries have been doing in the past decade or so.

I noticed that the landscape and culture changes if you get into another city. I wanted to study in London a couple of years ago and this was the same thing that was on my mind. They have real good places to go to and it's quite easy to get from one spot to another. I'd have to work and start over though but life is indeed a little better there. I'm still optimistic that I can go there for a vacation. Maybe if I can get in and if the time comes that ill visit my brother in Ireland; I'm surely going to drop by a couple of cities in Great Britain. That's not even far behind from my plans and I'm crossing them out on my list one by one. I'm going there but if I do I'd tour the whole country without hesitation. Ill just take pictures and tell you the tale of the good looking guy that went on his great journey to discover the sights and sounds of a glorious country. Would you do the same if you were on my shoes?! Have you gone to the best places in your part of the world?!

Missing X

I was doing post processing this morning when a funny text arrived from an unfamiliar number, it didn't register to me until I read parts of it...

"Hey, I know its been a long time. I really didn't think about the things I told you when we parted. I want you to know I understand why you got mad. I miss you."

I'm kinda okay with that but after not talking to me for 7 months, 23 days, 6 hours and 24 minutes you just come and barge into my life like this again? so I said this...

"Who u?! "

Then she answered...

"Si XXXXX to... how you doin babe?!"

Then I texted back...

"Ha?! (O_o)?"

She said,
"Uyy sorry na, alam ko kasalanan ko naman eh..."

I said...

"Don't worry, I turned out okay... you might as well go talk or text someone else I'm kinda busy..."

she answered..

"Alright... sabe ko nga wala kang time..."

Then I never replied.

After everything that happened she probably wanted to reconnect. I didn't want that ex become friends thing she wants to happen... I believe if I was the one who was wronged then I'm going to tell em I'm okay. Things are getting complicated and hard between her and me and I'm remembering things I'm not supposed to. But really I wanted to do this...

In the back of my mind I think I missed my X, but I won't fall for the same thing again. I did my part, tried to save it all. It didn't work so let's just all get on with our lives ok? You are apparently reading my blog anyway. Hope you get the picture!

Nuffnang and PLDT myDSL Special Screening

I'm a certified geek if you can say that in layman's terms. I have a lot to say about network engineering theories and administration of public and private networks. I know those gibberish people scratch their head about when the idea of interconnecting LAN to WAN structures come into play. It's easy for me since I've been doing it for almost 7 years. Yeah I am a certified geek and I'm darn proud of it!

It looks like there's something big going on with NUFFIE and I wouldn't be surprised if the four letter PLDT rings a bell. I've been subscribed to them for a couple of years now and what do I know is that I've never got any interruptions that are not beyond their control. I always get customer service and technical support when I need it. I know how hubs, switches, wired and wireless access points work like the back of my hand but it pays to still have someone managing the connection perfectly. If PLDT didn't do it, I don't even know who can. I know horror stories from others but then again that's another story ha-ha!

I love the fact that they have high speed wifi now. They even had that configured so multiple users can connect. How ingenious! I mean everybody's already mobile or wireless these days and if they have to still purchase a separate one for that it'll cost thousands! They however have that bundled up... it comes so affordable too! Imagine if every household has one; wouldn't that be just bliss?! It's a perfect setup for all my wireless gadgets, and a 4 port slot to accommodate more! If that ain't going to convince you I bet you are from MARS!

The Social Network is to Facebook, as PLDT myDSL modem+wifi is to FREEDOM!

Imagine how this world would be without innovators like them! The freedom of getting connected, merged into a gateway of endless possibilities is just at the helm of your fingertips. Go ahead and give PLDT a call and get me hitched to that special screening to Social Network! You have no choice but to get me there! Get it? Got it? Good!

Mom Should Get Me Awnings!

You guys probably know that I'm trying to build a refuge in the south. Part of that plan is to also get some furniture and pieces that I'd enjoy with my family. I wanted something rustic and very natural looking so the wood work is going to be a little hard. I forgot something though aside from the swing I wanted to get for the porch; I should have had awnings attached to the roof since the rain isn't a joke around here. That might just spoil the wood so I need to get one for it. The deal is I don't have that much choice in this side of the world so I'd probably get ones on line. Here we go again with my retail therapy ha-ha!

This is pretty much a necessity so I can take care of the ones I bought. Imagine what it would be like if torrential rain and sun always hit them, that would really spell another shelling out of money if I don't take care of them right? I have to make sure I make my investment work for me and my family because after all I worked for it! I want to still be shaded from harsh rays while sitting on that swing + porch reading my very first novel. I know! I should have been writer somewhere in my life. This is going to be another one of those reality shows put on paper. I've got to find them now... some stores like HILLARYS have them (*hint*) and Mom would be the perfect candidate to donate that to me! That's just about sounds right! I hope Mom agrees!

I like your article... very information to me! hahahah (hongondo ng comment ng blogger na to, panalo!) He cracked me up BIGTIME! Hehehe

Sometimes I want to lose faith in love and all that s*** but I covered another wedding yesterday. I'll tell you a story about that on Monday. About the couple too.

I'm tired and I need a massage. My back hurts and my right foot pinches me every once in a while. I woke up early too thinking I didn't need sleep. At least I know I still can feel pain. I almost thought I was a corpse but this just made me human.

I saw empanadang ilocos at moa when I went out with bloggers last week. They were doing it from scratch which made me doubly excited to eat em. Unfortunately I was more excited to go to work, I almost got late! Whew! Hehe.. Next time I'll really buy that!

My shoe's were a little painful yesterday, I guess I haven't been wearing them formal shoes that much. I wonder where the other ones are, mom kept most of them and slid them on bags. I don't know where she put it! Argh!

People have been moving my stuff around the office. I'm a squatter now LOL. They were planning decent don't get me wrong, but man it's just a pain to ask for things in the office these days... Automating didn't seem to have sped up things as it should. Filing tickets and them closing it at their own without consulting if they resolved it with users is darn wrong. Good thing I can open them up again, imagine jobs if they were all mediocre like this. I'd probably rate them low on CSAT if they keep on doing this.

I need to be optimistic every way I can, I hate losing hope with my self you know! =)

A simple link exchange

I often visit web sites of my peers in the blog industry and read off what they have to say with life in general. I enjoy doing this in my spare time because you get to see what they think behind the keyboard and have a glimpse of what they have in mind at these times. There is a thing called link building that makes this activity extra special if you exchange putting in links on your site with another web master that has related content. If you add url link exchange activities in your daily blog routine then traffic from search engines become way better. Part of the charm of the netiquette these site owners apply is link exchange where you both add each others URL and make it beneficial with one another. It pays to actually cooperate with sites that have the same subject as you are so when your turn comes to be searched in engines all over the Internet; you would end up on the first line and on top. This is essential for businesses and the service industry where they find most of their clientele on the web.

If you are clueless about what SEO or Link Exchange is, I suggest you take a look at very useful sites like http://link-exchange.disastercover.com that has a lot of information on why and how you need simple link exchanges. I have done this in the past and got to where I am now in cyberspace where I have most of my rankings very high. It takes only a few minutes to understand the concept and I hope some of my friends here take time to read the articles there. I specifically would like to suggest you start with the ones on how it can help your site so you kind of get the idea what benefits you will reap at the end of the day. Who else should help us attain our goals but us! We just need the proper information to start how this is done and that is exactly what the site I mentioned has. Let's do this!
