Looking for that One in a Million

Wednesday, December 08, 2010

In this part of the world it is pretty hard to hook up with someone that would perfectly match you. I should know because I've been single and dating on and off for quite a number of years now and true enough almost all my friends ask me when I'll be settling down. I am a little bit irritated because whosoever made that rule and getting a partner just to be happy must be laughing at me somewhere high above. I know there is some truth to that but I'd rather take my time making this choice. I'll be the one spending my lifetime forever with her anyway right?! I'm a catch too and not to brag about it but I'm one of those choosy guys who would rather make the best choice or nothing at all. My standards are high and if there were Jersey City singles here that would probably be my first choice. I'd like to have someone more suburban and quaint and not the type of raunchy ones you often see in the clubs. I would like her to be someone smart and articulate. I want someone who can catch up with my humor because most of the time they just don't get it.

I am still optimistic though that someday that perfect person will suddenly appear and make me fall into my knees. I'll love her with all my heart and I'd be loyal and truthful to what we'll be promising in the altar. It's the perfect thing for someone who hopes for the happy ending everyone's been dreaming of. I'll take this one step at a time!

To inspire everyone let's listen to NEYO!

Hungry for a Photoshoot !

I'm going to let you take a peek at some of my shots. I am hungry for a photoshoot so please bear with me if I sound a little off now. It's been a long time since my last big photoshoot and it would be a big challenge for me to do this on January but I think if my friends and I bring this thing together we can do it. I wish there was an angel who could provide me with the location I want. Money would not be a concern though since if I invite a lot of photographers over that would probably cover the costs. I also have friends who can do professional make up and styling. When and how am I going to do this? It's still in the air but since I'm dead envious of the others who are still doing fashion shoots I'll drop them a bomb here. Ready?

Here are some of my shots from the defunct Nocturnals... this was from the Avant Garde Wedding Shoot. Here we go!

I knew fashion photography was something I should do after I got my shots published on the Digital Photographer Philippines magazine. I felt all the effort and hard work that I put in on this craft paid off only after a year. I want to shoot again with my peers. It's just sad that some of them lost their way. I hope in one way or another I could still get some of them to help get a big shoot in order. It would be such a waste to throw away some of their talents, I've seen some of their works too. I hope one day we'll shoot again. I hope so... I really hope so.

Life is a Dance Floor

I always go out every weekend because I have lots of friends in bars and clubs around the metro. I love house and trance music and I can never get tired of it. To tell you honestly I also went out just this week and boy did I enjoy the songs played in the club. I love going out because I am single and that is one of the perks. The passion for music though is really getting to me. I also want to be a DJ someday but I never got into the norm of how to do it. Software mixing is another subject and I know someday I'll get the hang of it. If I get high quality dj usb leads that might get the balls rolling. It'll be easier to combine and do a mash up of my favorite pop songs and make them house or a little bit electronic. I've seen some of the best and my current muse is Ministry of Sound UK. Why am I going to have problems with that?!

I'll try and stay away from those 80's hits because they are pretty bland. Some kids don't like it so if I plan to have a party of my own to hone my skills on this someday, I'll stick with the plan. I have some of them somewhere here but I think it would be good to mix them up with some of my photos too. This would be good for presentations and music videos just like the one I made for a shop. I'll try to make this work sooner than you think. I'll be a DJ and that is one of the few things I'll do this year. Wish me luck guys!

Oh Santa It's Nicki Minaj!

It looks like I'm on my way to search for Nicki Minaj. I kinda like her songs, particularly this one even if it is a revival of some sort. There are not that many female rappers in the US these days so this is somehow a breath of fresh air. Not to compare her with Lady Gaga because that is another issue. The weird costumes, catchy tunes and weird vocals are giveaways but then again she is doing it in her own way. I wonder if she credits the other as inspiration.

Mariah is back with another hit called Oh Santa! and it has been topping the charts since the first week of December 2010. I wonder what will happen to this new Christmas Album, will it be timeless as the other older ones or will this just be a fad on holidays? I wonder...

So what are you playing at this time of the year? Did you buy albums or download them for free? What is your current LSS? These are the two songs that stood out on my turf so let me know whats yours okay? =)

Help Get Rid of Cancer!

Tuesday, December 07, 2010

Cancer is the second most deadly condition in the country. This is just next to heart disease and it has become very common nowadays yet nobody knows that anybody could get it. There are several factors to consider such as way of life, environment or heredity. I've come across several types of these and it has been very painful to say the least to lose someone in an incurable state. My Grandmother, Aunt and Uncle passed away from it and I have seen the anguish it has brought to our family. Some things in your own home made from construction materials from way back can contain asbestos. Inhalation of this particular fiber can cause numerous illnesses and one of them is cancer. Efforts have been put in on mesothelioma treatment but it always boil down to how far it has already gone into your system. If this has progressed too much and never been given medical attention there would be severe consequences in the long run. Death would definitely be one of these but the agony of undergoing radiation therapy and surgery would never be far behind.

If you have people who suffer from this you need to act now. Get them into the treatment and educate yourself about the disease. The necessary cure to something that is incurable is education. If you know how to avoid this from happening and you get medical attention early on there will be a greater chance for survival. If you love them, you know where to get information and on line references are one of them. Sign up for medical evaluation too.

Make the smart move now and help the world get rid of this disease! Be informed!

It's My Birthday Today!

Monday, December 06, 2010

I've never felt so blessed. That is actually an understatement. My friends and relatives have flooded my wall of birthday greetings and awesome gifts arrived at home. What else could I ask for? I know this weekend will be fully booked of celebrations since my day fell on a work week. Hope those wine stores don't run out of Chilean or Italian ones since they are my favorite. It will spark a festive mood and we'll surely be partying until the morning comes. I personally would like to thank everyone who made my day special. Imagine 170 people and still counting are posting there. Not to mention those awesome stars that mentioned me in TWITTER too!

Take a look at this!

See how blessed I am that even these celebrities took time to greet me?! I know how busy they are but they took time to do this on my special day! I know there will be more of this and I hope I could get some time to celebrate with them too. Wine and Cheese party sounds nice at this time of the year. If I could get those special ones and have it paired with fabulous cheese from other parts of the world I'm sure this birthday would be perfect!

Thank you so much everyone! Next up my on line friends! Cheers!

SM Cyberzone Event

SM Cyberzone Event

When you hear SM Cyberzone you automatically turn upside down into a frenzy for the best computers, mobile phones, gadgets and IT products. I have been buying stuff there for ages too. This event is the start of Cyberzone's quest to conquer social networks; and what great way to do this by making their own fan page and tying up with Facebook last December 3, 2010. They also hold weekly themed photo contests; winners receive great prizes and surprises from the largest conglomerate of IT stores in the country SM Cyberzone.

The kickoff was held at SM Manila Cyberzone activity center at the lower ground floor. They've got a Freedom wall, social network photo booth and MSI Laptop terminals for the enjoyment of consumers mall wide. I personally like the contests and raffle prizes; and I was lucky because I got to join one of them. Up for grabs for bloggers like me were MSI Laptop computers, 2 Myphone Cellphones. The day just got more fun when I won one of the phones! Oh boy! =)

I Want Privacy

Our office just relocated. It's a stone's throw away from the original space we were at and in a different building. I love its proximity to shops and restaurants which would make our life a little easier when we need to go out for lunch or dinner. We are currently fixing some small details in the room that we were assigned to because apparently everyone can see us from the outside. Privacy is of utmost concern since there are confidential matters that we also need to work on. I hate to say this but it looks like we are in a fishbowl right now. I need to secure conservatory blinds so we could get some decent covers for our new space now. If that wouldn't be done within the week I'm sure to have problems when meeting schedules arrive. I'll have to push the administration department to take care of that.

The transfer was smooth and without hitches. The computers are working fine too! I love the new one because it is a little isolated. If they take care of the privacy concerns then it will be perfect. I wish I could bring my own covers for that because I probably have better taste in choosing the right color and texture for blinds. I don't like those other ones you usually see in banks which makes the feel too corporate. I want it formal but a little homey. I want the ones in the photo above. I'll ask them to get the ones on line. I'm sure they'll be doing the other offices too and this would be great for that look.

STOP Child Violence

Friday, December 03, 2010

I wasn't the perfect kid ages ago. I did the most mischievous things you can imagine. Part of the process called "Growing up" I guess huh? Discipline for me was mostly instilled by my Mom. I hate to admit but I am a Mama's boy. She did bring me up quite well but there are several normal Filipino instances where you get hit by flipflops, hangers, belts and tied to a chair occasionally. Don't get me wrong, I didn't think it was too much though because look at me now... I ended up remembering those days but I practically turned out okay. What I don't like is seeing some of the kids in my neighborhood going through corporal punishment to the point of treating them like criminals already. If you get bludgeoned, burned, or beat up, that is too much. That goes for the verbal abuse too. I guess I was slightly affected when this whole campaign for child violence came up in Facebook. I don't blame my Mom for anything because she took it lightly on me. I love her.

I hate people though that hurt their kids too much. I couldn't quite put where to gauge what is too much or not but the assumption on the first paragraph is enough I guess. I want people to change and STOP CHILD VIOLENCE but not to the point of giving them too much freedom that they become ingrates and undisciplined individuals already. Now the deal in Facebook was to change your profile picture to your favorite childhood cartoon character and guess who I chose?

I'm Future Trunks! =)

So make the choice to stop child violence now and change your profile pictures to something you wanted when you were a kid. Change your Twitter, Facebook and all your social networking photos now! =)

We're moving to the other building!

Thursday, December 02, 2010

We're going to transfer to the corporate building and will be leaving this asylum looking one tonight. Although there have been good memories we need a more pleasing place to stay to do business. I had my boss call this current one we are in like a hospital room so there are no arguments about that. The one we're going to is a little better but there's one small problem; we won't have privacy. The walls are made of tempered glass so everyone could literally look at us from the outside. This is not good for us who need some quiet space when doing our job and I wish there was pleated conservatory blinds that we can use to address this issue. I'll contact some people from administration so they can procure them before I step into the other building. That's a great plan!

My team will be handling a lot of communication from the outside world because of new requirements. I will be working hard this month just like what I've been doing in the past. I need privacy just like everybody else in this world and if that small detail would do it for me this would be bliss! I'll try and see if I can make that place a better one than when we found it. If the people before us didn't remove the blinds there we wouldn't have to scuffle so hard to find new ones. Although it would turn out better looking now that I've got my eye on cozy ones I saw on line. It's turning out to be a pretty good day!

How's the weather in your neck of the woods?!
