FINALLY Barbie Forteza: The Exchange Gift Happened with Jak Roberto

Thursday, January 09, 2020

Just had a short coffee class with Kapuso Prime Princess Barbie Forteza. We talked about her new show Anak Ni Waray vs Anak Ni Biday which will show this January, but she mentioned a funny thing that might have been in some people's mind. Remember those viral Christmas articles about her and Jak Roberto? Some were actually awaiting if their exchange gift did happen, but it only happened this year. The sweet boy Jak gave Barbie a Pandora necklace with an angel design sleeping on the moon while Barbie Forteza on the other hand, got Jak Roberto an Apple Magic Mouse and a lot of accessories for Vlogging. They're spent the holidays together as it is also their third year as real life lovers. It did happen! :)

The show she's in is also a remake which starred Maricel Soriano and Snooky Serna. Albeit not being able to watch, she got pointers from Ms. Snooky how to do the role. She is also doing Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko episodes opposite her real life crush Dennis Trillo. We did this while making latte art with the Baristas of Crema and Cream at Timog Avenue.

Here is our interview with her detailing the shows, right after our coffee session.

Kara Mia Premieres February 18

Tuesday, February 12, 2019

This takes courage to do but GMA is still dishing out very experimental shows especially this one which they plan to do on primetime. It's called Kara Mia, based on a medical condition called Craniopagus Parasiticus that is said to be a condition of having one head and two faces. Although in this instance, it is caused by impregnation of a mythical creature and a human.

The director read this with fresh eyes as the previous one had shelved this project, to them this is style and media bending which is very challenging. They enjoyed doing it a and hope you enjoy watching it.

Barbie says "This is not easy to shoot because I have to make sure I move right on a specific height and wait for them to do the same with Mika. It takes hours to do this in real life and I get some sleep in between takes. I couldn't sleep because Jak is a little talkative, see Mika even attests to it."

Jak says "It just that I arrive in the set when I have already had coffee so I get to have extra energy, disturb her a bit because I don't usually sleep on set."

Paul adds "The most challenging part is when I have to be like a Playboy, I still have to research that. No I am not like that in real life."

Mika says "We are love square not triangle and in the beginning I will have feelings with the character of Jack. It takes the right people to be in your best condition and so far I feel everything is so unexpected and I feel so lucky. Nash and I are very happy, he talks to me and teaches me the ropes. I am inspired to do more."

Carmina says "I didn't know how this would be done because when I read the script it was overwhelming and really not easy to execute. It is also my first time to work with most of the cast and probably, I have my twins so they think of me when there are twins on the project. It is time consuming, sometimes I have to talk to her nape, unlike in the past where I talked to ghosts."

Kara Mia premieres on February 18 so if you're up to more fantasy, drama and a bit of humor, go watch GMA's newest offering because they're only hope is to change your viewing habits, to not only taste adobo, but also other dishes on the table.

Sexy Fun: OH BOY! & OH LOL! at the Music Museum

Wednesday, May 16, 2018

It's already the 16th and that means you only have about two days to go to purchase tickets to one of the sexiest and funniest shows this month called OH BOY! & OH LOL! which headlines 4 hunky men of GMA Rocco Nacino, Derrick Monasterio, Jak Roberto, Dave Bornea and the lovely comedians Donita Nose and Super Tekla.

The previous show held at the same venue got a pretty good audience and they're raring to do even MORE this time with the new guys they are with, now that Jak Roberto and Dave Bornea will be joining them. Rocco in fact says he's going to do more prep work with the production numbers they'll be doing this Friday because they have a grasp pf what to actually do after staging the first successful one. He's also teaching the new guys what to expect in this new show, but always let them remember they can add their own style and flavor to their individual production numbers, abd those that they'll be doing in a group.

Donita Nose on the other hand says "Our kind of comedy is situational, live, and happens when it happens. So if you are expecting a LOT OF FUN that evening, that's what you'll get and more. People have always seen our antics on Youtube and our previous pairing on Will's show, but now we have 4 boys to play with and that only would mean we'll have a little more naughty fun. We will be interacting more with the audience and Tekla and I will be doing production numbers with them, this will be a riot for sure!"

The show OH BOY! & OH LOL! will happen on May 18th, this Friday at the Music Museum. If you haven't bought your tickets yet, you may purchase them at Ticketworld.com.ph and at the venue (while tickets last). They promise you'll get to see more sexy stuff and have fun while you are there. Hopefully they can take the show around the world because this seems all so much fun!

Can't wait to see you on this date!

Birthday Boys Jak Roberto, Mark Herras and Christmas fun with GMAArtist Center

Wednesday, December 20, 2017

If there are artists that were blessed this 2017, one of them is actor Jak Roberto. After a lot of episodes in different programs and iconic roles landing him in primetime slot, you may as well consider him as one of the new bankable stars in the network. He's blessed because we watched him grow not just as a star, but a person. He remained very humble despite his success, and we the bloggers are never surprised because we love him dearly. Now he's part of upcoming show Contessa together with goddess Glaiza De Castro. So we asked about it during his birthday celebration prepared by GMA Artist Center.

Jak Roberto says "Contessa will have a really epic story of revenge, me included as I help her rid of her enemies. It's more of an action drama and I have worked with Glaiza in different projects. I'm glad that I haven't been tied up with one loveteam so I don't get any breaks. I didn't expect to be surprised during a taping, we were really busy but I felt there was something going on, I really appreciated her effort and the people from Tadhana."

"I guess we might have our own individual projects and very busy but I appreciate how she made time for me (talking about her sister Sanya Lopez). That's just on another level. Sanya and me, we talk about how our lives has changed now that we are on tapings most of the time... we seldom meet at home so we are taking a break these holidays. We are going to be with family and not so much of traveling. I also had a day with kids this year, it was really heartwarming. To see cancer patients, they organized it all, I really wanted that to happen. I also want to buy a new pickup because I need it for work. If I had the free time I will try to rest, eat in a buffet, just to relax a bit. I need that."

You deserve all these things Jak, and we wish you nothing but the best and more success in your future shows!

Then we got to also see birthday boy Mark Herras. The Bad Boy of the Dance Floor was in a good mood, I love this guy to bits especially because I'm a Mark Jennylyn fan. They've always been so nice to me and treated me like a friend, I consider them one because after all these years, they haven't changed.

We asked him what his plans were for celebrating Christmas and what he would want as a gift to himself. The birthday boy answered briefly:

"I don't usually go out during Christmas because I want to just celebrate with family. I like shoes, I also like perfumes, I like Diesel's BAD. I ordered on a website and it arrived. I didn't go with Wyn in Bolivia because she wanted to concentrate on the competition. Wyn is a little lacking in self confidence, she didn't want to join initially and when she saw her competition they were all tall and beautiful. She had her dream, she wanted to prove a point so she really danced her way to their hearts. I was really hoping she would win and I didn't have any idea how it would feel like in Bolivia. She was nervous, but she won it. She needs to complete her reign, and we now seldom meet but I completely understand. I am super proud of her, I shouted at her during the Bench show. She is a different person on stage. After everything that happened to me, she helped me gain my confidence back. She always checks on me when she can help me with a lot of things. She's just there for me, everytime. If ever, I would be completely okay to be with her in a show. A romantic comedy, or a dance show, we would be able to whip out things. We are now very open to people, I was always with her and I laughed when she was asked in her Bolivian show guesting when she was single. During and after her win, I know she would be really asked a lot. I want the roles of Gabbi Eigenmann, something like that. Because it's like really colorful, and perhaps do other things that I haven't really done before. I see my path, I want to do roles good. I haven't known any Starstruck activities yet but if ever I would be asked to experience that again I am okay. I know I miss Sunday shows, my fans too. I get tired sometimes but I guess crowds get me going."

He's got shows coming up on GMA and I will still support this guy, he's a very nice man. Mark will surprise you in an upcoming show that they can't divulge yet during this time of the interview so I can't wait for that!

By the way, both of the birthday events and our Christmas party was hosted by good friend Joshua Jacobe of Top One Project. He's on a roll and is very confident already. I can't wait to see his star shine too.

These guys from One Up on the other hand joined us to celebrate our annual Christmas Party with GMA Artist Center. Albeit not complete, these guys performed a couple of sons to keep us entertained during our small gathering. They are very game, they didn't mind the ruckus happening in our party and were all so nice. For that, thank you One Up!

I would like to take this bit and thank everyone who made this event possible. Thank you GMA Artist Center for all that you do for us bloggers, we know how much you have worked the whole year and how difficult some of us are lol, but despite that you remained so nice everytime. Thank you to all the sponsors of this party also Goldilocks for the cake!

We can't thank you enough!

Meant To Be at Enchanted Kingdom

Sunday, February 12, 2017

Having been able to meet them in their past projects was good enough, but seeing them together in one place was even awesome. We spend the afternoon exchanging graces, them telling the stories of their individual characters and just about their daily life being part of the show.

Meant to Be is one of the most highly rated show on GMA and they did this small event so they could thank their most loyal fans and take them to Enchanted Kingdom. The meet and greet ended with a great show where stars Barbie Forteza, Ken Chan, Ivan Dorschner, Jak Roberto, Addy Raj and the whole cast (less Ms. Manilyn Reynes) took some time off their busy schedules and sang, serenaded and even performed dance numbers for the fans and the EK riding public so they could give back for all the love they gave MTB.

Here's our interview with the main cast, enjoy!

Here they are giving you reasons why you should watch the show!

Derrick Monasterio, Bea Binene and Jak Roberto for GMA's "Hanggang Makita Kang Muli" Set Visit

Tuesday, April 26, 2016

Bea Binene has remained as one of GMA Network's prized actresses. She continues to make top of the line afternoon prime shows that has been receiving great ratings and this one goes the same. The story line of a human who identifies herself as a dog just takes primitive to a whole new level. There are real cases of these and if you can just imagine how Bea has put up her paws just to deliver this role, it would have been really hard. The make up process takes hours and she had to be in it for more. It wasn't the best feeling as she says it was sticky, hot and you could pass out anytime soon if you think about the weather in the Philippines. It was hard at first but she knows the director wouldn't ask her to do it if it wouldn't be part of the script and imagine, Laurice Guillen is telling you what to do. If she finds out you are not prepared and you haven't really memorized your lines, she'd probably go ballistic and let you feel you are the cause of delay when in the shoot. They all said that during the small interviews we had with them.

Here's Bea Binene's interview on video, this is in two parts so make sure you play part 2, enjoy!

Check out how Bea reveals more about Derrick Monasterio and how they bully each other.

Jak Roberto has been able to show his prowess in all the projects that he's been in GMA. He knows he needs to do this in return for all the help that Master Showman German Moreno has given him and countless talents in the industry. He's a product of Walang Tulugan and attributes most of his success to the man who is behind it. I find Jak very fit in dramatic roles and he all seems so natural. I wouldn't be surprised though if he gets casted for sexy ones because just take a look at him, he's one of the most well built guys on screen and he's not afraid to show it. In the show, he plays the role of Elmo, a friend of Calvin and he's admittedly saying that the character is some sort of a rebound but not a contra bida. Take a look at our short interview with Jak during the set visit of HMKM, he also describes his working relationship with the famed director Laurice Guillen and how he's learning a lot from it. Here's the hunky guy in two parts, enjoy!

Jak also has a short message for Sanya Lopez, his sister who landed the role of Danaya in GMA's epic show Encantadia.

The man of the hour, the guy who's possibly being groomed as the next GMA prime actor is no other than Derrick Monasterio. I can feel how GMA is moving earth and the heavens to have him spotted at the best magazines, events, an album, the best shows so he could well be on his way. This is without discounting the fact that Derrick is freaking working hard to achieve this goal. During this interview, you might see him a little uncomfortable, not because he is, but because he's actually working out so much that it hurts when he walks. He's that determined to be the ultimate guy on screen, the one you always dreamed of, and why not give it to the one that does the legwork figuratively and literally. He plays the role of Calvin in the series, the one who took Bea's character in. He's going to tell you what's about to happen to them in the series and would share a couple more things about working with his co stars and Direk Laurice. Bea and Derrick are super close friends in real life, the kind that bully each other and takes it lightly in the end. He's going to discuss how different it is in "Vampire Ang Daddy Ko" and working here.

Here's our interview with Derrick in two parts, make sure you watch both!

Here's Derrick to personally invite you to watch their show!

Hanggang Makita Kang Miuli shows 3:30PM in GMA's Afternoon Prime. Make sure you catch the story early on, so you know where their characters are coming from. Thank you so much to Bea, Jak and Derrick for letting us interview them during their busy shoot. Thank you also to GMA Social Media for connecting us! Hope this isn't the last!

GMA Artist Center's Hottest Boys of Summer Jak Roberto, Prince Villanueva, James Teng and Elyson De Dios

Saturday, April 02, 2016

If looks could kill, the boys we talked to a few days ago would have been a massacre. Some of GMA Artist Center's prized men sat down with us to tell us a little something about how they'll be spending their summer vacation. I know everyone's been eager to do that in a few days and I guess this is quite timely. We know it's hot outside and perhaps we're covering this to make you feel even hotter, we talked to them over banana splits!

What's better than ice cream in a hot afternoon? GMA Artist Center offers Jak Roberto, Prince Villanueva, James Teng and Elyson De Dios. They're doing different shows and projects right now, but aside from their acting prowess, what might actually be interesting is these guys don't have that much chance to talk to their fans or perhaps people to get to know them.

Jeric Gonzales, Abel Estanislao and Jak Roberto Now Sings as 3logy

Wednesday, August 05, 2015

There's this boy group, not necessarily a boy band, which I find so unfair because just look at them! It's Jeric Gonzales, Abel Estanislao and Jak Roberto, three guys who have really good individual careers, are joining together to form a group called 3logy. I did say unfair right?

Jeric's been doing a lot of Magpakailanman and Karelasyon episodes. Aside from that, he's in the Dingdong Dantes starrer called Pari 'Koy where he plays Eli Marasigan's character. Aside from a very successful acting career, he's a very spirited singer and they've managed to work out this group when people from GMA Artist Center noticed that they actually look good together when they had workshops a couple of months ago. Abel Estanislao on the other hand has two shows on his helm. He's in the Kristoffer Martin -  Joyce Ching show Healing Hearts and plays Earl while he also is in the Ruru Madrid - Gabbi Garcia prime time show Let the Love Begin (of which I happily saw him again yesterday!). Jak Roberto on the other hand is still in Half Sisters and and the same show as Abel in Pari 'Koy. Evidently, they're all successful in their own right, but why form 3logy?

Jak Roberto says "GMA Artist Center saw us first and decided that we sing most of the theme songs of the recent Koreanovelas shown on our station. The first one we ever did was the revived version of "Maybe It's You" that was used for Kim Sam Soon. We all enjoy singing, Jeric can play instruments, so does Abel, and I on the other hand already had a group before so it wasn't really hard to do this. We know our voices. Their initial plan was more of be like the APO Hiking Society where we'd do mostly revival songs, and do it in a more acoustic way. We all played the guitar initially, but we transitioned doing the Koreanovela's theme later on. It's a bit hard to convince people because there are a lot of other artists who probably are better than us but we prepare very hard before a performance just so people would like our music. We're not here to impress, our intention is so that people would enjoy, get entertained when we sing.We have small problems in scheduling because we work in different times. It's a challenge because it's difficult to form a song when one of the members isn't there, including syncing, rehearsals too. We also had to beg off with some of our mall shows because of that, but it's all good. Zeb Zuniga helps us in vocals and Mikoy too, even in blending. I get inspired with singers like Duncan Ramos, I do falsetto's and it's difficult. Maybe we can do a few originals and a few Koreanovela songs as well."

Abel adds "It's in the workshop, that's where they started it all. Mikoy Morales made us our very first original song and that's what we've been singing lately which is called "Pwede Ba!". We sang this first single in Sunday All Stars. Hopefully there will be plans to have an album too, but we prioritized to release something digital first and that's what we have now in OPM2GO.com. Mikoy is currently making more music for us as he says. We're really excited for that. We're also trying to compose, but it hasn't materialized yet. Mikoy is a genius, he mastered that part. He makes good songs, I like it as our voices are not into those dance tracks. I think we'll fit love songs better. That's where you'll hear more blending, as what we're gunning for. As for relationships, mine's a bit complicated. We're not a boyband, I started as a musician before I did showbiz. I was doing jazz and playing in Stonehouse, I did sessions there, music is in my heart, it's my passion. Right now, we're doing this together with our individual shows. We don't have a lead singer, it just depends on the song so we usually alternate. In Pwede Ba, I suggested a few things so when we recorded it he liked it and that landed in the song, we do have small creative inputs. We have covers, we have originals, (then they sang Gusto Kita by Gino Padilla during this bit). I like Rannie Raymundo's music, he sings differently when live. We do work hard in Artist Center, in the next few months I hope the group gets more well known and perhaps get more following too."

Jeric also says "There was one workshop where we were spotted and they knew right then and there that we looked very good together, we have chemistry, so they thought of bringing us together. Then we said "why not?!, why don't we try that!". We're all single, so the song "Pwede Ba" was really perfect for us. We like love songs because we're sweet guys really! LOL. We've been working hard as a group, we bond, we rehearse a lot. We practice our song over and over again so we'd sound good when we perform, and also improve even more. We have challenges because my schedule is different working in Pari 'Koy but we're doing good. We've rehearsed a few songs now so we can do something more if needed be, but we're also concentrating on the Koreanovela songs we can do in our repertoire. I personally like artists that are more in the RnB side, so I get inspired with JayR and Gary V. I do high notes but it depends on the song. Hopefully, we can get an album, that's our goal."

These good looking guys, their songs, all but have nowhere to go but up. Aside from their very promising songs, you can look forward to see them promote not just their shows... but their group as well. You should definitely watch out for 3logy as they come out with more songs, be in more shows in malls, and TV very soon. I can't wait to see their first album, hopefully they could release one before the year ends. They hold a lot of promise, it's just a matter of time when you'll love them all over again when they sing their way into your hearts very soon. Congratulations Jeric, Abel and Jak! This is just the beginning!

Here's a preview of their latest single Pwede Ba
