Alden Richards for The Gift

Wednesday, September 11, 2019

This will show on September 16, a few of you have it already tweeted I’m sure.

Alden says “This is the first time I am portraying a blind character. Jo Berry will play my Mom and the fear here is not doing other characters you could explore with. My grandparents are my inspiration especially in my life. This story affected me so much because the story is hopeful, regardless of circumstances.”

We saw the first few episodes, much like a long trailer. They took time establishing the characters back story, why he ended up with his Mom and the whole tragedy that happened with his life. Add to that the fun things he’ll do with his love life, oh yeah he’s going to have that happen a few days. Until something abrupt happens. It will change his life... and destiny.

The cast includes Jo Berry, Elizabeth Oropesa, Jean Garcia, TJ Trinidad, Mikee Quintos, Mikoy Morales, Martin Del Rosario, Christian Vasquez, Betong Sumaya, Rochelle Pangilinan, Tetay, Luz Valdez, Victor Anastacio, Isabelle Ortega, and Thia Thomalia.

Check out our coverage here from the September reveal last night!

Make sure you stay tuned on GMA this September 16, you wouldn’t want to miss Alden of course!

Glaiza, Tj Shines On My Letters to Happy

Friday, June 28, 2019

Just saw My Letters To Happy this evening at their premiere in SM Megamall. I had a notion this would be a love story alone, but it has made me realize they’ve probably made this for the twist of the story which we can’t mention here.

Not everyone was built strong. That line alone would make you think how hard and complicated this relationship is for Abet and Happy. One day they’re fine and dandy, a little bit crazy over each other, the next day they’re all talking serious stuff. They delve into that a lot, I felt uncomfortable at first because as millennials put it, there’s some ghosting involved. How far would a person show his love for someone?

Because we often forget how important our time is. This line had me thinking, do we all really do that? Do we not put importance to that moment we spend with out loved ones and instead just became superficial? How do we count or identify the things we need to put real attention to?

Abet and Happy made me feel a little hurt, especially in that one scene (I couldn’t tell you to spoil it!), a little helpless sometimes, but the fun parts, you encounter several skips of your heartbeat. Story wise, My Letters To Happy has given a subject much importance. Check it out if you want to see how, why you need to be crazy sometimes.

This film shows on July 17, 2019. Take your love struck crazy friends along and learn how to love without conditions, it works for some people. Glaiza, is a fine actress... and this just proves even if she reads lines from a phone book, she makes it work. Congratulations to the production too, but hope you ease up on the camera shake, I felt dizzy in the first frames (sorry).

My Letters To Happy Presscon

What do you do to be in a relationship? Does it make you happy and complete? Or are you okay without it? What if you've given up on love but suddenly, you met someone perfect online that just completely swept you off your feet, but end up leaving you in the end, would you still go for it?

The movie My Letters to Happy will be showing this coming "rainy but alone" season. The Director saw Sleepless and always knew the perfect person for this project, it was always Glaiza De Castro. TJ was a solid actor and they wanted to see how the contrast would work with the two. The character needed a more up tight guy, and he knew he was the perfect one for it during their first few meetings.

Glaiza remarks “I tried to use new apps to date, it made me braver, more eager to express myself but it really wasn’t successful. It didn’t work for me. It’s a commitment, and I think I should just go out. I am very patient and haven’t experienced getting from one relationship to another. It’s a choice but there are a lot of relationships that are shallow, it’s what happens if you don’t know if there’s a connection. The character I play is very eccentric, theatrical, a little effort to put her out there. Surely you will see a different persona. I wasn’t really troubled working with TJ, he just enters the scene and he could do it. He isn’t selfish at all, I could love older guys and I think that’s what is exciting about relationships. Love has no form, and it’s a very nice feeling. I have a tendency to get in easy going into character but have difficulty getting out of it, TJ also is going to be more sexy here. You should see him! Alyssa also tries new things, it is difficult but she is not filtered and has no acting methods yet so she wasn’t trying too hard and it looked beautiful on screen.”

Tj says “Here she was refreshing and retained her innocence when I had to be with her in a scene. It releases the tension, I had to give her a few tips but she was very focused. It worked with her advantage (Alyssa). In a sense, it wouldn’t be enough for the director if she didn’t pass the standards and she did.At the end of the day when we help one person, their family or friends, it’ll be worth it and it’s a positive message and worth to take from the film.”

Alyssa Valdez adds “This was actually very hard for me and very challenging and it was something I wanted to experience so I could know myself better. I get overwhelmed sometimes and second guess myself, try to see what I needed to do but I’m just really happy I get to improve more in this film.”

When the director was making the script, he wanted balance so it wouldn’t be heavy and dark. Glaiza had range and she was already enjoying it during the second scene with Alyssa. For those who would like to watch an acting showdown between man an woman, the things in between how relationships work or fail, make sure you watch it this July 17 on theaters nationwide! How about you? What would you write if you had to send your own version of "My Letters To Happy".

Do You Remember Prince Stefan?

Saturday, November 19, 2016

If you haven't seen Working Beks yet, you should. It's funny, but has a bigger message underneath that it's trying to get across. This is my first time to actually get to sit down and interview one of its cast members and I know he's the talk of the town. Do you remember Prince Stefan of Starstruck? Well he's the same actor, good looking, a little more buff now and consequently he was  outed by comedienne Keanna Reeves of PBB fame. Remember her?

Anyway, here's Prince Stefan now. He's happy with his career, very confident, outspoken, adonis like and he's not single. I've got thousands of views on Youtube alone on this interview, which probably means there are a LOT of people that are quite interested about this guy. I don't blame them, not at all.

Working Beks is a story about the careers of different types of gay guys. It's humorous, but still passes on a message of how they are still driven by the love for their family, their relationships and the pressures of society. Watch the movie as it is still showing on November 27. This is produced by VIVA films!

Here's the cast inviting you to watch the movie!

Buy Now, Die Later for MMFF 2015

Friday, December 04, 2015

It looks like there's going to be real tough competition in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival as Quantum Films, MJM Productions, Tuko Film Productuons and Buchi Boy Films joined forces to put up a horror comedy film called "Buy Now, Die Later" which stars Vhong Navarro, John "Sweet" Lapus, Alex Gonzaga, Janine Gutierrez and Lotlot De Leon. They say this is a psychological thriller which will be related to the plot of having weaved around a human's 5 senses - sight, hearing, smell, touch and taste.

The premise is good, as it talks about the norms of society's greed, how to solve mysteries, the voices in our head, love and age. It's like a multitude of stories all put into one. Mind you, these are the same production outfits that also did "Walang Forever" and "English Only, Please".

Here's the video I made during the presscon

Vhong plays a blogger named Odie who wishes to become a serious photo journalist like his Dad. Tj Trinidad who plays Santi is an ecclectic shop keeper sells different wares to different individuals who in the end will face consequences brought about their traits and later become his victims. Odie bought a phone from his shop and gets scoops first hand from an app installed on it, later on solving each mystery as it unfolds. Ato, played by Rayver Cruz is a friend of Odie. He starts up a restaurant and buys a special ingredient for his restaurant, but them becomes greedy so they'll be having some real serious problems in the end. Chloe is played by Alex Gonzaga. She on the other hand wants to become a very successful singer. It came true when she used an app from Santi, but she gets crazy later on after having a great hit. John Lapus plays Pippa who used perfume (bought in Santi's store) and tries to woo Narciso (Manuel Chua) because he's madly in love with him. Lotlot De Leon on the other hand plays Maita who wished for her daughter (played by Janine) to have a normal life. Santi gets her in trouble but them Maita came into her senses and didn't accept the consequences, she's the only one who did that and got something better in return.

They promise five times the fun and entertainment on this official MMFF entry from these film outfits. It's directed by Randolf Longhas who also did "Ang Turkey ay Pabo Rin". Watch them on MMFF as they show it on December 25, for the Metro Manila Film Festival!

The Borrowed Wife: Exciting Scenes in GMA Afternoon Primetime

Monday, May 12, 2014

I will have to admit. I used to watch this show everyday because of the story and everything but I stopped because it stressed me out. I couldn't concentrate anymore. Each scene in this series would either have someone hitting a lady or gripping her against the wall or throwing her around like a rag doll. Though obviously, the scenes were all well thought and executed for it to affect me that well. I didn't ask or talk that much during the blogcon because they might find out I'm a fan! LOL! It deserves the praise and ratings it's getting though and I applaud them for that!

Rafael Roselle who plays Rico Santos in the series even sang a few songs to get us a little comfortable. Also in the show are lead stars Camille Prats who plays Sophia/Maria, Charee Pineda as Maricar, TJ Trinidad as death by eye color Earl and Pauleen Luna as Tessa. Other stars such as Yayo Aguila, Sherilyn Reyes, Kevin Santos, Lou Sison, Diego Castro, Red Bustamante, Zarah Mae Deligero, Jojit Lorenzo and Ms. Caridad Sanchez are also in the show. They are currently troubled about who's who because apparently, news that the reconstructive surgery about the fake Maricar was out!

Camille says almost all the scenes in this series was tough to portray. Gravity was trying to pull them together but ethics was keeping them apart because they needed to do the right thing. She married TJ in the hopes of proving her love but turns out she was actually fooled into the situation... and she didn't like it when she knew about it. Her favorite line in the series is "Sa akin ka na lang ulit Rico" because she had to say that a lot of times. Rafael Roselle remembers the kid in the series who says "I love you ten times, ten thousand times!" which he thinks was so cute and endearing. Tj on the other hand loved the statement "Akin ka!" stemming from his role who's got an obsession with Sophia played by Camille Prats. They also had a very Hollywoodish car chase scene which you also should watch out for because they were so ecstatic telling us about it. Rafael compares it to the running scene in Pearl Harbor which he thinks is one of the highlights. They will also in the end find Cecilia, is she Maricar? Well, you have to find out by watching the series, all afternoon on GMA!
