Change has been happening but more has to be done. In the midst of a huge typhoon today, it is but a good time to see how women play a huge role in disaster risk reduction. Honorable Senator Loren Legarda puts emphasis on how their roles whether lead or not, can actually spark change in the management of it.
At the Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, she says "It is important that women have access to resources, training and education to make sure it becomes a reality. This includes those who are marginalized, whether women, girls or those with disabilities in the region. The countries in these areas have to have systems in place to warn people early, evacuation plans, and even recovery if needed be.. with everyone participating."
Her efforts on pushing for legislation that promote gender equality, the Clean Air Act, plus the Magna Carta for Women and the PDRRM act would help promote and protect them in times of disasters in the country. This puts policy making procedures include women as a requirement. Women's role in all these aspects remain important, to hopefully, also put their needs forward, without prejudice, in any decision that has to be made.
It's the 5th time that the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies has been celebrated and this year, Senator Loren Legarda is once again pushing for the better implementation of landmark bill Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999. The importance of having strengthened commitment to the cause is crucial for the benefit of its protection and its effects on public health in general.
Senator Legarda reiterates "When we did the Philippine Clean Air Act about 25 years ago, I knew it wasn't going to be a walk in the park. Knowing the cause for having better quality air is still baring conflicting ideas, statements on recent headlines, means it will surely take grave effects on social and community health. We need to work hard in the areas of stricter implementation in environmental laws and work on climate strategies that will make Filipino lives better. We have the planet on the line, the only one we have. There are a lot of people, and their families that are affected by it."
The Senator has been a stern advocate in environmental causes and wants efforts for climate action, development of renewable energy sources and protection for the communities affected by it.
Things may have relaxed but that doesn't mean we should especially when it comes to maintaining cleanliness indoors and outdoors. Tech giant Huawei Philippines just recently announced their participation in CEPSI 2021 which is the Conference of the Electricity Power Supply Industry which happened yesterday. It aims to bring action in sustainable power production in the region and encourages social inclusiveness for their efforts. In the event, Huawei Philippines VP and CMO of Huawei Digital Power Dr. Fang Luangzhou shared information about how the company is moving for low carbon and smart societ using digital ways.
Over 44 countries have already joined the global mission of being carbon neutral. They believe this is what's going to happen in the coming decades which includes those who produce power, consume and even industries that would want to upgrade their hardware. It's going to be beneficial not just for the entities, but the world if we get involved in their mission of being carbon neutral. They identified it to come from Electricity production, manufacturing and transportation. Getting transportation to use electric power and produced it in low carbon emitting ways would be good for the earth. It will also lessen costs in the long run which will benefit more industries who depend on these old power producing systems. They suggest off grid solutions like those who utilize sun or wind to make them. They also have green ways to manage them, it will make their research (10 years and over 90 Billion spent for it) even better as it will be utilized by the greater public. Huawei looks forward to have a greener future.

Grooming is essential, especially for men. Your woman wouldn't want a smelly boy when you're out on a date or even at home. Some Filipinos are actually like that and yes, in some instances, it's normal. If you're like me who doesn't like the aesthetic of unmanageable and unruly hair, I'd rather have it taken out either by manually shaving it off (which I do quite regularly).
It's a little difficult to do it on other areas because of the uneven landscape especially on the privates where nicks and bumps happen. That's just not an option for a lot of men because of the discomfort you get just because you shaved it. beard or mustache. It takes a little getting used to if you want to
sculpt things. Like in my case, I wear a beard so it could lengthen my
face and look like I've lost weight LOL.
Now aside from the STRIGIL SafeCut Trimmer, they've also got an After-Trim Body Cleanser. This does the job, leaves your skin still supple and prevents it from becoming super dry. This thing has Aloe Vera which makes your skin feel cool and hydrated. This is pretty necessary right after the trimmer work you had. It also smells nice too, like a fainter, more manlier version of a popular men's perfume. I prefer it that way rather than making it a bit too musky or with leather notes. Some women can't really stand that sometimes. This one also feels fresh and something you'll love to wear after you take a shower, it doesn't smell like strong soap or chemically induced.
This is also very affordable, the replacement blade can also be sourced from the same store. They are a local brand and they want to spark change in the way the Filipino man depicts hygiene. They want heightened standards to make sure you feel good inside and outside when you use their essentials. I've been using it for a few weeks now and I've been satisfied overall. I even feel I can use this to have a haircut or facial hair (which I did for sampling), but it's special, I'd rather use it for just grooming THAT alone. So when the opportunity came to go back to the barbershop presented itself, I went and hurried to get my hair cut and colored since it's been a while that I've done that. Aside from the usual hair cut and color, they've got grooming services but I didn't go through that anymore as I know it would actually take time to fix my hair. I've been getting my hair literally tied up lately because I couldn't actually manage it. Senior Stylist Edwin Espanto suggested I get the back side of my hair shaped into a V so I won't be seeing too much fuss when I'm brushing my hair and styling it a particular way. They know what they're doing, I could actually tell because as I was suited up, not one drop of water actually landed on my shirt, nor did one speck of hair was left on my head and neck area. That tells a lot if you're doing the job right, and M Barbers delivered on that.
So after bleaching, waiting a bit, choosing a light color, waiting, blow dry and a bit of styling, they got my hair look good. Now I know, this looks high maintenance but as it turns out, I could actually just wash and wear this one today. It still looks like a million bucks, and I thought the color was good too. I'm wearing it proudly for an event later!

It's been a while since I received a care package, and this one's pretty special. I'm not into healthy stuff but I found them pretty good. This is One Juice Green Tea Powdered Drink Mix. I love the ones that are usually served in Japanese restaurants and off stores but this one looks a little different. Aside from the usual green tea, it also has Garcinia Cambogia which is a tropical fruit that can block things in your body that can make fat. It also raises your brain's level of seratonin which then makes you feel a little less hungry. There are also studies that resulted some help of this ingredient in making insulin and bad cholesterol levels lower. It also has Stevia, the leaves that some people use to replace sugar. That may mean you'll get healthier in the long run because it's effect in sugar levels plus, it's also not addictive. This drink isn't too sweet though, I also take it cold. I also drank this while having a meal. Instead of just water, wouldn't this be a great alternative than softdrinks? Way lower sugar content too.
This is the Ravissante Whitening Lotion. Now don't get me wrong, I don't use artificial things to whiten my skin, and I don't really think anything's wrong with that. The thing is, we've all got dark spots here and there right? We just want our skin to look a little even and a little help from whitening lotions like these would just make things faster. It also doesn't cost that much (around 900 I think) but you get the effect you need to make that darkening spots go away. Anything to make yourself more confident and sure of yourself I think isn't really a luxury... sometimes, it's a necessity. Wouldn't you want your date to notice how flawless your skin is? Or how about meeting with clients? You wouldn't want them to mistake it as hygiene problems right? This also has ingredients that's got effects of sunscreen and moisturizers. A bottle would just mean you're taking care of yourself, why won't you do it right?
You probably have seen charcoal used in different products these days. You've seen it in cleansers, beauty masks and even toothbrushes. Charcoal is also used to treat poisoning because it basically absorbs toxins faster than the lining of your stomach/digestive tract. This is the Shizen Charcoal Soap. This might be the answer to your search for the fountain of youth.
Last but not the least is the Le Meilleur Micro Diamond Scrub. They say this is not a facial scrub, not a cleanser either. They mentioned that this is much like an alternative to micro demabrasion which is often done in clinics. They also said this uses small crystals to lift dirt, oil and old, damaged or dead skin. It also contains vitamin A, C, E and glycolic acid so you get rid of those wrinkles and scars from acne damage. I don't have acne so I don't have a reference about that effect but it did whiten my skin a bit where applied. Mind you, I only have done it a few days (3x in a week to be exact) and if I'm seeing effects, you probably would too. It's not too greasy either, just massage lightly (especially in dark spots) and rinse it off later on. You'll probably see a little exfoliation but again, before you do use any beauty product it would be best to consult your doctor/physician.
