Make Clothes, Fabrics, COVID Free with NATUCAIR

Friday, March 26, 2021

Being clean these days is not just a need, but a necessity. With the pandemic, we're all confined in the comforts of our own home and try to live day by day, to survive and hope the numbers go down in the country. While that ain't happening yet, we follow government protocols, safety procedures that make sense, and just about anything that would make sure we won't be causing the spread of it in our own homes.

You've got your alcohol, hand wash and cleaning stuff for your body, but when it comes to fabric, what do you do? Well for starters, you use things like Natucair. This fabric and linen spray from Earth Corporation just disclosed their ground breaking research about it ridding of 99.9% of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in suspension. The research was done in Japan Textile Products Quality and Technology Center in
Kobe, Japan. Yuya Suzuki of Earth Corporation's Research and Development team says "We areso happy for our team of scientists and researchers who made this groundbreaking confirmation about Natucair. Filipinos should have options of products that help them stay safe from the dangers of COVID-19. We’re glad Natucair is on that list!"

With the recent announcements of daily cases that surged to 9,838 (which is super alarming!) as announced by the Department of Health, we all have to make sure we have every base covered. If a person goes out for errands, or get their clothes compromised whether its polyester, poly-cotton and 100% cotton. This also applies for healthcare workers who need to take home and wash their clothes or their inner wear. Natucair takes care of what you wear against bacteria, germs and viruses.

These days, you can never be sure so taking extra precaution against the dreaded virus is always welcome. If you haven't had one, maybe it's time you get Natucair.

The Launch of CAL the Brand

Monday, December 21, 2020

Stepping out of the shadows of proud mom Dimples Romana and dad Boyet Ahmee is daughter Callie as she now embarks on launching a new business venture called CAL THE BRAND.

She's only 17, and yes, she initially had challenges taking this idea off since she had to source materials for it. She built, learned the ropes and did this from the ground up. She burned the midnight oil learning about the business and started quite early with her fascination of Rattan bags. She ultimately wanted to support local artisans who mostly made these pieces by hand. She now wants these to reach a younger audience, who like her, would have love for aesthetic that is same as hers, which is all locally made and sourced.

As a person who has been working in fashion shows, photography stints who has probably seen lots of these, I could say what she's getting out in the market is SUPER nice. Sans her age, maturity, she sees things quite clearly curating each piece from local artisans. I am very impressed about how she was able to put this up in such a short time too.

Callie says "A few years from now, I hope to see more people with products from Cal. I want to see them wearing and using them proudly because they know how good it is, and how it is made proudly local. I hope Cal would make more individuals be inclined to support local artisans and promote them more here and abroad!"

She adds "Thank you for taking time out and joining me in supporting local brands, I hope this influences people and the communities that are being helped, from fashion items, furniture, to support our local artisans. Thank you!"

Here's our talk yesterday

There's a lot to see in her Instagram account where you can also order the items. She's planning a few things after this particular launch, like clothing, furniture, some things she's going to be proudly coming out real soon. Take a breather and look at how good the items are in her store here https://www.instagram.com/calthebrand as CAL The Brand starts their journey.

Matteo Guidicelli and UNIQLO Sport Utility Wear

Thursday, April 02, 2020

UNIQLO just came out with new Sports Utility Wear that jazzes up your run of the mill everyday clothes and turn them to efficient and technologically advanced workout clothes. Now that's good news for people on the go or young professionals who workout before and after office hours as it will be doubly convenient to do so.
If you're the type who sweats profusely, feel sticky with your current ones and need a change everytime you do things, they've come out with UNIQLO Dry Ex which prevents these from happening and with its design, make you move comfortably in strainous or regular gym sessions. They also do good because they incorporate polyester fibers from PET bottles and upcycle them so you get a quick drying polo shirt, no odor too.

Felt cute so I wore this mesh fibered shirt for a Bamboo bike tour around BGC. It was a bit dangerous, but I enjoyed it!

There were a lot of choices from Women's Dry Ex Crew Neck Shirts, Women's Airism UV Cut Jackets, Women's Airism Soft Leggings, Men's Full Zip Hoodies and Dry Ex Shorts, they've made it with quality in mind and yes, it's comfy.

You may also check out the whole collection using the UNIQLO Mobile App, I have taken advantage of the 300 coupon welcome gift and bought around 3k worth of clothes which I use for workout at home.

Guys and gals took to the floor and worked out with celebrities and models plus Matteo Guidicelli. I was overjoyed he remembered me from previous events. They got so intense with that session.

Now go head to UNIQLO after the lockdown of Manila. We need to get back in shape when life goes back to normal.

Cheers! Hope you all stay safe!

How Do You Take Care of Your Clothes?

Tuesday, July 16, 2019

It’s such a colorful afternoon with the peeps from Unilever makes of Comfort detergent and Comfort Fabric Softeners. I love their setup where we were given pretty strong magnifying gadgets so we could take photos of fabrics with these wonderful models!

Marianne Tan the brand manager for Comfort says “We in Unilever know you love clothes and if you wash them, some get weathered, but how can you love your clothes to the last thread? You have to use COMFORT Care Detergent. It’s in powder and liquid form and in variants Glamour care and Fashion Care. Eliminate the signs of Clothes Aging with the new Anti Aging Technology in detergents. Love, wear, wash and repeat.

Amor Prieto the Manager of their R&D says “It takes 5 washes to see signs of aging, the need for clothes to look NEW longer is in demand and we have a new range of products to fight the signs of aging. As we wear and wash them, it contributes to that. The use of bleach even makes the fabric weaker. Harsh detergents get the colors faded, even friction contributes to it. It can ruin your look, but these new fabric care detergents have enzymes that snip bobbling off so your clothes still look new. It prevents yellowing, shape loss, and our new fabric conditioner has Triple Care Technology which protects your clothes from friction and heat. It even protects prints, this is why Comfort make the clothes you love be new for longer.

Rajo Laurel says “Fabric care is important even after designs, materials are delicate to wash and in investments like designer made clothes, you need to maintain it’s usage even after a while.

Daryl Chang “Before I buy anything I think of how many times I use it and not just me, but a lot of people spend on clothes. A year or more, you have to get your investment out of it. When you shop you have to be wise, not unlike when I was younger when I didn’t think about sustainability.

I was a clear case of clothes aging LOL

Apples Aberin says “It is important for me to take care of my clothes, I like dressing up but do repeat my stuff so I take care of them so they last longer, it’s a way of self expression, not to try show aging in your clothes. I love Comfort the most!

Now how about you? How do you take care of your clothes?

The PSI Lifestyle Hub in Quezon City

Sunday, January 28, 2018

Got invited to the PSI Lifestyle Hub in Quezon City. It's pretty near my place and it sits right across my old school Trinity University of Asia at the ground floor of The Garden Heights Condominium. I'm pretty familiar with this area because I spent all of my highschool years here. It's bustling with SME's, hospitals, new restaurants, malls but I think it's a pretty nice place to put up a business that would cater to a niche market. It's me and you, the millenials, the xennials, Gen X and Y who by stroke of luck will get to see the new PSI Lifestyle Hub. Here's a short tour :)

I enjoyed knowing that there’s now a store that would cater to big men like me and sell them at a fair price.

If you’ve got a craving for Montaño Sardines, or a health freak looking for Benevita Coconut products, or finding a big guy’s outfit at Perfect 10, finding the best London and Korean made stuff from London Cosmetics Manila, or school/office supplies from Chubby Bunny, PSI Lifestyle Hub would be your destination of choice.

Congratulations and again, for those who would want to see the products personally or talk business, please visit them at PSI Lifestyle Hub. It is right across Trinity University of Asia and St. Lukes Hospital.

You may also send your inquiries at https://www.facebook.com/PSILifestyleHub/ Facebook page because they’re ready to answer if you have questions about the products they offer. I’ll be back there to shop for clothes soon, I found a long sleeved shirt that I like.

Big boys don’t worry, they have huge sizes up until 7XL.

Outstanding Laundry Technologies: Lagoon Advanced Care Systems

Friday, November 24, 2017

Fast, easy and green... that's the vision. With the release of the Electrolux line 5000, Electrolux Professional is pushing for technologies for equipment that is delicate on fabrics, gentle on the environment and something that would change the business. This Lagoon Adavnced Care is ergonomic, sustainable and that treats clothes well. This is a wet solution, but doesn't use harsh chemicals so even if you use less water, you don't compromise the efficiency and quality of cleaning clothes. This is an alternative to dry cleaning.

Dave Arboleda says "We are a stones throw away from Araneta Coliseum, you see how they use gowns and suits so you know how hard it is to take care for them. We usually have them dry cleaned right? But that is a little dangerous because of the solvents that are used, so we have developed a wet cleaning system that has been approved by Woolmark, a standard recognized worldwide.  Perchloroethylene is not good for the environment and is toxic, the substance also needs proper disposal as it is hazardous. It also causes cancer, can make white fabrics gray which isn't a lovely picture to paint. Perc is now restricted abroad and will be banned in the next few years. Solven based washing is not a good thing if you use these chemicals, it's not as fresh, not as clean, not eco friendly and not healthy (harmful to operator and owner of the clothes). Hotels and Laundry shops have these dry cleaning machines and some even have used wash basins at times without knowing the dangers of it. The best alternative? Here's the Lagoon Advanced Care systems."

Lagoon Advanced Care systems are not complicated, it's fast, effective and can be done in one hour. Customers now come back for it because it's a game changer.

Ko Jon Hok explains "This is a water based solution, I'm wearing a suit right now and it's common in so many countries. Jackets have different types of fabric just like your local barong. From receiving the garment, to spotting, washing, drying and pressing, it takes about an hour to finish everything.

The Lagoon advanced care machines have different capacities. Woolmark developed this system with us and got us certified also with other fabrics. The system has efficient dosing which means it adjusts the amount of solvents/detergent depending on the load. It's very easy to mount, (he then puts his wool and polyester in the machine) it uses the existing water in the drum and it uses very small amount. The foam cleans it all and cushions the garment. In a way it mimics hand washing, but this is consistent and very gentle. The dryer on the other hand detects the moisture of the clothes (through a sensor, he showed us using a hand and it detected that her hand had 8% moisture) so you efficiently use energy or heat on the garment. If you see the before and after photos, it has some wrinkled after washing, but after drying it gets straightened out and almost needs no ironing (because of the conditioner they use). From coats, to dresses, to wedding gowns, now you can do it in a machine instead of just hand washing these expensive gowns. Even with beads, embroidery, stones, mixed clothes, fleece, velvet, silk and a whole lot more, it would look almost new after going through the Lagoon Advanced Care system. The Electrolux machines with the custom programs, the detergents and conditioner (so it's easier to iron and protects it with coating) pumps, and will only work with the detergent and conditioner that is tested eith it and can be installed fast. Hotels have used it already, we have pioneers who have used this system and it is available all over the world.

For those who want to know more about the system, you may contact ELS Philippines Inc. who is the laundry solution provider and distributor in the Philippines. They are located at M5 Goldland Tower at 10 Eisenhower Street Greenhills San Juan City. You can also visit their website at https://elsphilippines.com/

Mossimo Reveals A Different Kind of Sexy Cool with Mossimo X

Sunday, October 23, 2016

Missed this show but definitely felt that it's something worthy to write about as Mossimo held their reveal for MossimoX, a new line from the brand. The collection was made to make it easy for anyone to do their individual styles with quality made pieces letting anyone who wears their clothes versatile, a beacon of self expression to make them whoever they want to be. I've been wearing Mossimo since gawd knows when and I distinctly remember how colorful, simple and no nonsense they are from the very beginning but what I do know is they don't sacrifice design, or the overall look of the product. I know because I do wear a lot of their shirts even back then. This new collection however will shy away from the West Coast vibe they've been doing for the past few years and will inject a more East Coast/New York style instead, but still holding a dynamic, easy to wear feel that is very current.

Mossimo believes the collection is designed for risk takers. New York is pretty much a melting pot of cultures, and is continually pushing the envelope when it comes to clothing. Remember Sarah Jessica Parker's Sex in the City series? Every time she wears a Tutu on a regular day we feel a little weird, but it looks so pretty on her and only people in that part of the country can only pull it off. It doesn't have to be that silly but the "pushing of the envelope" concept in street wear that Mossimo is doing is similar. Get it?

Unconventional? Yes, that's exactly what they want to do. Just look at this red plaid shirt, no, it's a dress. It's also got that Mossimo signature logo on it. Pretty cool if you ask me.
Details? They've got that on men's shirts. Plus, they didn't just cut and accessorized them plainly. The long shirts, the uneven ends, it all looks good on us.

They've got something for the girlfriends too.

The textured design, the surprise cuts on the bottom, they're doing couture on street wear LOL!

I don't know if that is what I think it is, it's like faux leather that looked like a white denim jacket. It looks so good on her. I also like the gradient sweater, oh and I almost forgot it's almost Christmas. That means it's going to be sweater weather!

It probably will also look good on colored or ripped pants.

Ladies, there's also another one that you'll like. This one shows skin in all the right places, and it looks very comfy. Now imagine how you could cuddle up with your woman in these clothes. I know.

What's current? Oversized shirts. Now how about oversized sweaters? That's even better.

They also have the basics covered. Obviously aside from sweater season, this is also LAYER season. Get the jacket, hoodie or shirt and put them on for fun. You don't have to stop yourself from choosing what's good on you. That's what Mossimo X wants you to have.

Now all you've got to take care of is how to carry it with swag, with attitude. You've got the right clothes for fashion risk takers like you, and the last thing you need is a trip to a Mossimo store to get those Mossimo X clothes you're looking at right now.

To get the Mossimo X collection, just go to Mossimo Glorietta, SM Mall of Asia, SM Megamall and SM North Edsa very soon. You can also get information on these through Zalora of MossimoPH's official Facebook and Instagram accounts. I want some of the pieces here and since I've been using Mossimo even before, these new Mossimo X fits right my alley. I experiment, I want it different, and I'm glad they've got it!
