Holiday Stream Treats from LG: RED ONE on Prime Video

Looks like the holidays will be extra fun as LG announced that Prime subscribers would be able to stream one of the biggest action packed film this year "RED ONE". This would be available on your LG Smart TV if you are in over 200 countries that it's available in. This stars the toughest Dwayne The Rock Johnson, the lovely Lucy Liu, JK Simmons, and everyone's guy Chris Evans. The film is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Seven Bucks Productions, The Detective Agency and Chris Morgan Productions. 

The first peek will be available at LG.com and various digital venues like Piccadilly Circus in London, and at the New York City Times Square. LG also sponsored their premiere at the Lincoln Theater, with state of the art LG TV's that's got Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos audio. This is the handy work of their director Jake Kasdan. With their OLED Displays, you get to experience immersive viewing like no other. LG believes this is essential, and would warrant more partnerships in the future. Of Card Sharks, Betrayal and Feisty Women: Director Phil Giordano for VIVAMAX's "PUSOY"

I've had the pleasure of meeting Writer-Director Phil Giordano during the screening of Brillante Mendoza's masterpiece "Palitan" during the first week of December 2021. He's originally from Staten Island in New York, got his masters from NYU Tisch School of the Arts Asia. He's pretty accomplished and has received a Grand Jury Prize at the New York Screenplay Contest for his short entitled "Supot". 

 

He's no stranger to how we do films in the Philippines as I'm under the impression he's been working with Brillante Mendoza's production for a number of years. His handy work "Supot" that got around 10 accolades in Busan International Film Festival and several other award giving bodies - and have been shown in different countries as well. He's done several commercials and campaigns with well known brands like KFC, Porsche, Johnson & Johnson, Universal Music and others. Recently, they released a new movie which he made for the VIVAMAX platform called "PUSOY". This was something he already had written but made it extra spicy since it's likely to follow the theme of movies seen on the app. 

As the title suggests, this is about a group of card hustlers lead by Baron Geisler's character Rodolfo. Their lives got complicated when they got caught in one of their cheating sprees and murdered a son of a politician played by Greg Hawkins (of Kuya Escort fame). Rodolfo got in a rut and had to seek help of a General which then forced him to go even deeper into debt... and the dark world of wagers, dirty money, women and vices.  The film stars Janelle Tee who plays the role of Xandra. She's Rodolfo’s mistress with the same set of skills, providing the venue for love, trust and betrayal in different acts. Also in PUSOY are Vince Rillon, Angeli Khang, Felix Roco, Jela Cuenca, Julio Diaz, Raqel Monteza, Kiko Matos and Jacq Yu. This is pretty much an ensemble of new and experienced actors which we asked Director Phil Giordano about, let's listen in:

 

It's remarkable to see that we have the talented Director Phil Giordano making strides in the movie industry in the Philippines. I like his capacity to adapt, to make his films follow his style, which I deem stem from his hunger to create things and write at an early age. After seeing films done in the US, he knew he could do an even better job and got inspired with the great film makers. He's also planning to have a shorter version of this out for international film festivals, so this is just the start. Exciting times no?!

Watch the Pacquiao-Ugas FIght with GLOBE

Electropop Artist LESHA Drops Album "SUN MOON RISING!" on August 6th

The universe is conspiring and she's out with a new album, she's Lesha and taking the Philippines and the world by storm. She's an electropop artist and producer who's worked hard for her dreams, and now, it's a reality!

This August 6, her album "SUN MOON RISING" will be out with the first track with the same title dropping on this date. This is a huge difference from the time when she was just experimenting with her music via apps and vocals which she uploaded on Soundcloud. Slowly, she started doing remixes of popular songs and did several covers on YouTube. This opened up a lot of opportunities later on which got her to meet international producers of whome are now good friends, and is involved with her album Sun Moon Rising!

Lesha says "I'm self taught in music production, I also shoot and edit my own music videos. Those scenes you see on my channel are mostly shot in my own home and I got help from my family. I took Marketing Management in college and learned social media management because I needed to learn the ropes. I didn't want to be taken advantage. I am just so proud of this album that got me to work with producers and artists from UK, US, South Korea, Spain, Bahrain and Italy. I worked on this really hard and I'm very proud of what we have accomplished!"

Stream Pacquiao Versus Algieri For Only 199!

The last time I got to connect with Manny Pacquiao was on the wedding day of Jason Francisco and Melai Cantiveros. He's funny, a fine guy with principles and I must say he is very humble when I got the chance to chat with him. A Song Of Praise Music Festival Year 3

A Song Or Praise Music Festival marks it's third year now in the Philippines. Standing strong with 12 finalists that made 12 inspiring songs to give thanks and glory to God, they are eager to showcase their songwriting prowess on UNTV 37 and streamed live internationally at UNTVWEB.COM and heard on UNTV Radio La Verdad 1350KHz on the dial. 80's Iconic Singer Superstar Lilet

My favorite so far? Of course it's childhood crush LILET. I told Lilet that I used to go to her class room when I was 10... we went to the same school in Elementary, I always wanted to see her. I asked if how she feels joining this contest and she said "I'm both nervous and excited but more than the competition, the most important thing is the reason why we are doing this. We are doing this for the Lord!". The contest actually accepted entries from different religious groups and not just ones from UNTV's lineage. They welcome everyone says Mon Del Rosario, one of ASOP's judges. Mon Del Rosario also added that the other judges will remain a secret but their style will all be specific on the way the song is interpreted and written. They are going to be very detailed on how you'll see it. It's okay to be non conforming so people would be able to appreciate it, much like commercial songs. He's got favorites now and he can't wait to see them do it in Araneta this Tuesday.

We also asked Ricardo Sanchez about his song because he's the only one who had two interpreters and he said that he made this specifically for two people and with the Euro type of vibe it's the perfect way to hear it. The event is free but I think tickets have already been given to audiences. Aside from that, the album is also free, please do visit their social network channels so you can get a copy of it. You can also download it off their website, all free as well. If you want to hear and feel praise music like in our country, please don't forget to watch the show in UNTV live. Game Of Thrones on HBO GO!

If you got hooked last season with the original HBO series Game of Thrones, it looks like we're gearing for a bigger and better one on this Season 4. Even I got so annoyed when Season 3's finale episode only got us asking more questions, but I just got word of something so good you'll lose your armor when watching the new one come April 7, 2014.

It will now be seen first and uncut in the Philippines on this day at 9PM which is 12 hours after its US Premier through HBO's own app HBO GO. If you haven't downloaded it yet, you're bound to lose a lot of gold pieces and become peasants in no time. You'll also lose the title of "THRONERS" in the process.
