JOLLIBEE Releases Limited Edition Jollibee Funko Soda!

Saturday, September 25, 2021

If you love Jollibee, Funko and everything in between, you probably have seen the recent announcement in the Jollibee Facebook page about this a couple days ago. It's an exclusive Jollibee Funko Soda made from the partnership with well loved brand Jollibee and Funko.

It's only available to order via the Jollibee app which you can download off the App Store or Google Play buy purchasing a meal of 200 peso value and shell out Php 790 for it. Jollibee also has said there will be in some cans, a limited edition Chase glow in the dark version (which collectors would surely go crazy for).

This will only be available until September 26th, so you've got a few hours left to get one from the app. As of this writing, I've been trying to get one but it's taking its own sweet time to load. There have been successful purchases already as I've seen a few on social media. You better download the app today and try your luck to get one! (Oh and it's only available in a few select stores!)

Love Die Cast Toys for the Big Boys

Monday, March 26, 2018

My fascination with cars started at an early age and part of it is because I adore having one, whether it be the real thing or not especially when I started receiving gifts from the usual birthday parties and special occasions.

The Classic Jaguar XJ6 Series

All that changed when I was 10 years old when I received my first ever Classic Jaguar XJ6 series die cast model car. It’s 1:18 scale size and looks that would never go out of style introduced me to a whole new world of possibilities because if I couldn’t have the real one at my age back then I felt this would definitely suffice. This car is still kept at my toy cellar, tucked away with my other classic toys which I hope will increase value in the next few years or perhaps be passed on to my kids in the near future. It wasn’t easy to actually do that because the urge to actually feel it in my hands and enjoy it was great but thinking how it could be better to have in the future was even greater. It’s like the real thing, in mint condition, no scratches or dents, in matte green and metal body.

After that gift, I thought of getting new ones but only wanted to stay in classic cars so it was a tough and arduous process to actually see one in toy conventions but I knew I had to find more. It’s limited quantity and licensing means it’ll cost much more than what a 10-20 year old could afford but I skipped lunch and snacks in high school so I could keep the money and pay for it. I now have die cast owner of other classic cars, then moved on to Tonka trucks in an even smaller 1:8 scale.

The construction vehicles pretty much kept me sane in online stores, auctions and even thrift shops in Manila. Most of the public don’t even know the value of these diecast models and I would like to keep it that way so I could get them all at a fair price. Don’t get me wrong I mean I’m not just keeping it for myself and even though I know how expensive it is, I felt it was worth every penny. You won’t believe what I have in my coffers because I’m trying to hold on to them for a few more decades before I do dispose of them. It appreciates in value and I have set my eyes on other diecast vehicles.

NScale Models of Trains in 1:150 scale

A fellow blogger and friend started a new hobby - and got his own lovely diecast trains. I felt envious, suddenly felt a wind to get ones that move or engines with my cars so I could at least have them different. If I have their doors open up, trunk included or the whole thing move, that means it gets more expensive because of its functions. Now imagine expanding my build to actually do a whole community, with real scaled houses and car ports too. It’s a big undertaking, but dreams are made so you have a goal, so it may come true.

I have high hopes drivers, car lovers and enthusiasts like me would start to appreciate these things, and find that no matter how expensive it is, that it’s worth every penny.

I adore my lead and zinc pieces, they get better with age, I’m sure it’s prices will go up in a few years. I may have skipped meals and all but the memories of actually getting the things that I have right now made me realize how even more precious they are to me. This is one of the reasons why I still keep them, the value increase is just a bonus. The happiness I get is insurmountable, priceless, and if you could get more of these model cars and vehicles in your life, you’ll never regret why you started to love die cast toys for the big boys.

Jollibee Releases JolliDance Showdown App and Jolly Pinoy Collectibles

Wednesday, October 05, 2016

I'm a believer... in dreams made of happiness.. and what a child wants it to be. I believe it's something that would let them develop even BIGGER things, improve race and make technology beneficial for themselves, and generations to come.

Just week ago, Jollibee got us to experience something new. They have been working so hard together with a US based tech company called Trigger to make use of the new generation Jolly Joy Box and how they would get to make this simple packaged treat for kids become a great live dance studio for Jollibee, you and his whole crew! Unbelievable? Yes, but not quite impossible as we saw it in action last week! It's called JolliDance Showdown!

Step 1 Go get a Jolly Kiddie Meal (Jolly Joy Box shown above) and enjoy it in the store, at home, or anywhere in the world!

Step 2 Download the JolliDance Showdown App on the App Store (for iOS) or Google Play

Step 3 Once installed, open it and scan your Jolly Joy Box. You'll see the actual box come to life and be a full blown Jollibee Store complete with disco balls and stuff!

Step 4 You can also take a selfie and join Jollibee and friends in the lovely dance number

Step 5 You can also make your own dance track by going to the DJ for Jollibee section and dance it off with Jollibee!

Step 6 To get Jollibee's friends like Hetty, Popo Potato, Mr. Yum or Twirlie, go to your nearby Jollibee store and scan the special sign so you can unlock them all. Remember, you can only do this one character per day so you have to go back to Jollibee!

You'll love how Jollibee and his friends would be able to interact with your kids and it's just super cool to see it dance the whole day without getting tired. Imagine it on top of your table, your toys, your couch, your car, and just about anywhere you could fit that Jolly Joy Box! It's like magic and it's the first time for any fast food restaurant to launch an app of this nature! You'll love Jollibee all over again!

That's not all, because they've also got something for the young and young at heart. Take a look at these lovely Jolly Pinoy Collectibles!

The Hetty Vinta Getaway would remind you of Zamboanga where these lovely boats are found. She also moves and plays the sound of the waves. It's not your ordinary toy which you can get for 150 Philippine Pesos for each value meal purchase.

The Twirlie Pinoy Sorbetes on  the other hand will make you miss the grandfather of all Pinoy street desserts, the ice cream and vehicle we call Sorbetes. She also calls for customers and rings that little bell on her hand when she needs too. This is just too fun!

My personal favorite among all the toys is this Popo Carabao Farm. Of course KUMACOW is related to the Philippine Carabao and the cute french fry guy takes care of the audible mooing animal he's with. You should get this!

For some touristy fun, get this Mr. Yum Kalesa Fun toy. It also shrieks like a real horse at a touch of a switch. Don't you just want to take it home?

Nothing comes close to being Pinoy than the real deal Jollibee Jeepney! If you want to know, Jollibee even calls passengers to ride on this cute little jeep beside him. He doesn't just make YUMmy burgers, he's also a barker!

As I mentioned, you can enjoy these lovely Jolly Pinoy Collectibles by purchasing a Jollibee Value Meal and 150 bucks! That's a steal if you ask me because this lovely toys would last you for generations, you just have to take good care of it!

Now how's that for a Jollibee laden post? You've got the JolliDance Showdown App, plus a ton of new Jolly Pinoy Collectibles to get when you're inside a Jollibee store anywhere in the world! Oh yes, whether you are in the US or in the Philippines, the next time you crave for Chickenjoy, Yum or Champ Burgers, you'll see these inside the store so collect them all!

The McDonald's Angry Birds Happy Meal

Wednesday, May 11, 2016

When I arrived from covering events last week I saw this huge egg on our foyer and it was about to break. Tons of red and yellow confetti was already out and something was really trying to force its way out of it. I looked at the side and it had a McDonald's logo on the side, then I did the next big thing. I opened it.

It's the McDonald's Angry Birds Happy Meal and we've got the actual toys in it. Unfortunately there was a note indicating there's about 5 more that isn't included in the pack and I'll be getting it during the premier night this Saturday. I can't wait, I'm excited! The one above works like a stack, you have to put the three things upright. The stand, the block and the pig on top. Then the shooter includes the pink female bird which you can launch from the stone when you press the yellow button. It's fun, and it works so it's really worth the money.

Lead bird donning his red suit can also catapult from this yellow rock launcher so he can knock off the stack and save those precious eggs with small angry birds on them (if they hatch).

This yellow bird will provide laughter in the movie but of course it's the mighty one that can penetrate wood in the game. This is a stand alone character which you can get in Happy Meals, I think its wings spin if I'm not mistaken. Check it out in stores.

This one is my favorite. The Red Angry Bird actually lights up when you turn on the switch on its back then raise its eyebrows in front so it would look angry. It looks so nice in a dark room, I love it a lot!

The huge bird looks funny, it can also launch from the stone by pressing the button on the back. It's the tough one and you can topple the pigs on the tower in one blow. You should also get the other variants so you can play with friends and family.

For those who want to be a little evil, you can play the role of this pig from the west. It can launch itself from the saddle and take a chance to grab those eggs from the Angry Birds so you better keep them safe!

These lovely toys will be available next week which will coincide with the showing of Angry Birds the movie, so keep your kids excited by taking all hese toys home or taking it inside the cinemas. Thank you so much to McDonald's for this treat, my Dad and I love it! You've got 10 toys to collect!

The Uncle Spoils His Nephews

Friday, June 12, 2009

I'm meeting my nephews this weekend because my cousins invited a lot of our relatives for their Mom's death anniversary. I know it is not much of a big deal for westerners but Filipinos have this culture of having strong family ties. Not that we do not know how to let go, but we celebrate their good lives... and we remember them together with our families. It is not conventional, but that is how we do things around here.

My nephews are cute, bar none. The two kids even had several photo sessions with a famous guy last year so they could put them into vitamin C ads and labels for kids. It was really nice seeing them on the drugstore counter... if it was needed I could have bought one myself ha-ha!

Well being the good Uncle that I am, I need to probably buy them stuff because we seldom see each other. No, it's not bribery or anything like that. It's just something to remember me by. I remember when I was a kid people did not even give me that much gifts weather it would be my birthday or Christmas. I checked out the latest gifts on line and found personalized children's plates. I know that would really be a good thing to get for them since they would be using it everyday. They also like to go to school too, so maybe getting them a toddler backpack would help them study harder while being the envy of the other kids.

I could also get his baby brother an ezy roller so his folks would not worry about him too much while traveling. I just want the best for them so I should get them the best toys in town. I hope someday, somehow they will remember the Uncle who spoiled them. I in fact remembered mine and that is what I would want to happen in the long run. I'm no psychologist but that really did wonders for me!

What would you get your kids if you were in my place? I'm sure its one of those!

Toys for the Big Boys

Tuesday, January 06, 2009

This is a big secret that I will tell you, I was skinny and dark when I was kid. Don’t laugh at me now okay? I just played a lot in the streets, out on the scorching sun because I enjoyed being with friends at that era. I was even called names because of that. But all in all, I really loved my childhood. I can tell I was never a dull boy.

Everyone recognized me, even the folks of my playmates. We didn’t have any formal playground at that time. We just drew things on the pavement, rolled marbles on the afternoon soil and went home filthy. I know my Mom was mad every time she saw me go home stinky ha-ha! But that was just me and I still clean up nicely after all that. Being the good looking boy that I was (as the title indicates on my site) at that time was a little hard because it meant I had to go to adult occasions like weddings and programs so they have someone to look forward to when the time comes I need to make everyone laugh. I even had some short stints in TV shows and acting workshops but I wouldn’t brag about that now because it’s just too old.

There would be some times that I enjoyed staying at home playing alone. Not that I had a world of my own and became a special child, but I had plenty of toys I could spend time with. Cars, Trucks and gaming consoles were some of the best things I had when I was a kid. I had it all figured out what story to tell and role I’d play when that was the only thing I could do when my parents are out working. I had some of the best times of my life doing that. The toys were just like treasures for me; they were the ones that kept me sane the whole time. Those were really memorable for me because it did something that made me who I am today. Toys today are now made with the thought of making a kid’s interest grow. It has evolved to a whole new level and things like these could hone the interest of your child. Like this one for example, it can bring the music in your child’s life.

These are called MAG NEXT toys, which can start developing your child’s mind early. This can get your kid into music, they are called Smart Builders. Wouldn’t you like to have your child the advantage? You know what to do about it now that you read what I’ve experienced. The benefits are enormous!

Christmas Starts Now!

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

Christmas is really near. A month from now we will be celebrating the birth of Christ, my own personal savior!

In the Philippines, the season is quite a big deal. Celebration starts even as early as September. You'll see girls and boys selling lanterns on the streets, giving gifts, exchanging cards, some sing Christmas carols with one big joyful voice. This has been evidently the biggest holiday celebration every Filipino looks forward to.

Extended families are a common sight. Everybody recognize their Godparents at this time because they are somewhat obliged to gift giving whenever December 25th arrives. Yeah that even includes me! I'm not into that Godparent role much but in this culture, it is taboo for you to shy away from requests to do so. I've got about 10 godsons already and they are probably more than that. I've got one who in my mind to give a specific gift. I haven't seen my godson Ariel Joseph in such a long time. I've got to give him something he'll surely love so I'm checking online stores now. The kid is special to me since I got his mom and dad together when we were in college. I started to only tease them one day, then they ended up married. I think I have a niche for doing that to my friends. I saw one website that has the CARS play set. I would have bought this for myself but I think the kid should get one instead.

I'm sure he'll like this... I know he'll enjoy this one!

I'll probably just get a dragons figurine for my self since I want one too. It's just going to be part of my toy collection. I know what you're thinking, but hey it's Christmas so give me a break! Let's enjoy the season and start giving! Christmas starts now! Please do visit the website where I got these MEGA Brands toys from and start getting something for your kids and loved ones too!
Cool huh?! Even I like them that much!
