Yeng Constantino Launches New Album Metamorphosis!

Thursday, February 14, 2013

Yeng was able to choose songs and overall input on this album and says she wants the name to be about transformation, change and maturity. Metamorphosis was the only word she could think of.

This specific season she was able to work with the greatest musicians, and writing is much like a diary to her. Listening to her own songs made her realize how much she's changed over the years and now she knows what to do do, what to say and she's so glad her record company allowed her to do things freely. She's kinda afraid if people would accept her but she says she doesn't want to look back and say she didn't do it.

She adds she wants to be true to herself and they will hear the old Yeng but she will always add something new, something to actually dance with, even a music video. Listening to blink182 and Mandy Moore at the same time made her also realize that she doesn't need to be boxed up at all.

Yeng wants yo be a good example to everyone especially the youth because she wants to honor God, the church and she's happy about it. Her music is also about love, and heartbreaks but she says she wants to keep her own relationships private. But also says she can't really keep a secret and you'll probably see her tweet or instagram about it. She also hints about a love story that almost happened with a close friend but it had to end.

Good news actually arrived when we were in the blog conference because a prestigious academy in Europe got Yeng Constantino as  an honorary member as they put up a branch in Singapore so she's gonna be there on March 3. Make sure you visit her new website www.Yeng.ph and find out more of what Yeng has in store for you this 2013 and her new album Metamorphosis! Watch how Yeng transforms into something bigger, better and brighter Philippine and possible International Rockstar than before! It's out on stores now!

An Afternoon with Richard Gutierrez and Marian Rivera: My Lady Boss

Monday, February 11, 2013

Have you ever experienced that time when you just get pissed at someone because they meddle too much at work or at school? Don't you just want to quit but you can't because you kinda need it too? Did you ever had that time where you wanted to just do a task but you had to work with someone you really really don't like? You have gambled too much in businesses but failed and needed to work, but the person you needed to work with is someone you also wanted to hate; then end up really liking her because she's so beautiful? Oh... is that what it's all about?! =)

A good looking Richard Gutierrez sat down with us a week ago and started to tell us about his character in this upcoming film My Lady Boss. He says it has been eagerly awaited by fans and he knows it should have been done years ago but it has been put aside because of other pressing shows that he had to do. He also told the press that this should have been his directorial project because he also wanted to work behind the camera. He was so happy to have been able to work with the one and only Marian Rivera on this project. Their previous one did really well in the box office and he didn't know why it took this long for them to team up again. In this film he plays the role of Zack, a rich guy who hails from a good family of businessmen. He wanted to be a very independent so he sought to always put up businesses but unfortunately he always fails. Then he gets to start off on a clean slate one last time by working with Marian Rivera's character Evelyn in the movie. He wanted this to be his legacy but it has proven to be very difficult because Evelyn won't go down to his standards..

If she wants to, she can change personalities to fit the role she's playing. Talented and so beautiful in person, Marian Rivera was someone I never thought I would meet in this lifetime. She's not that tall but oozing with confidence. She was shouting at the press like she missed them for so long, she treated everyone like long lost friends. She even mentioned specific articles that they wrote because it looks like Marian reads it. It was definitely something that I would never expect from her; she was down to earth and even very playful at times.

She says she was so glad to have had the chance to work with Richard and had the same sentiments about them not having a project together since their last one. Marian says Richard was a gentleman, never took advantage of her nor was she given too hard of a task in getting comfortable with him. When I asked about their first impressions with each other Marian thought Richard was "Mayabang and matapobre" but it turned out quite the opposite of that because right from the first day she was spoiled by Richard. No, actually the whole cast and crew was spoiled with Richard as she was often asked what she wants to eat or how comfortable she is the whole time of the shoot.Richard she says is naturally sweet and this reunion of their team up after years of planning has been something they look forward to. Now that they have the schedule and time to work on this movie, they assure viewers that My Lady Boss would be one of the best romantic comedies ever seen in Philippine cinema.

When asked about who her inspiration was in playing the role of Evelyn, she immediately mentioned her Grandmother because she knew how exactly she would have dressed and all the mannerisms that came with it. She was quite familiar on how to execute this particular role because her family is quite similar on how strict, how conservative and how mataray she had to be in this movie. Marian was even suggesting headlines on the above photo that's why she was laughing profusely while being interviewed by the press.

When asked about their Valentines day plans, Marian bursted into laughter because she said "Amin lang yun, akin lang yung araw na yun.. wala namang plans kasi diba dapat lalaki nagpaplano nun? Sa amin lang yung February 14th" she insists. I'm sure Dingdong has lots of plans for her. =)

Richard on the other hand is always communicating with Sarah. They will continue to do so and see where their story goes. No details on their plans but I'm sure Richard has something up his sleeve.

The press was a little worried about seeing Marian getting rushed to the hospital (a few days ago before this interview) and her condition was not really a joke. The doctor had her on a neck brace but decided later on to remove it because Marian admittedly says she's too "Malikot and Kangkarot" so it was useless to have it on. She was also not allowed to work and instructed to have complete bed rest. She says she can't do that so the doctor agreed to have her work on a strict and limited time. They still have a lot of shooting days and a couple more for post processing. My Lady Boss has no play date yet but I've heard from the grapevine that it would probably fall after holy week. Marian Rivera thanked the staff and crew who was really worried for her and really takes care of her while working on the film She says she was so touched at how everyone showed concern over her condition but says she'll be alright. The doctor even says that in her condition, Marian is so strong. She doesn't complain that much and always follows his orders. If it were other patients she could have given up easily because the pain is actually excruciating. She's a very strong gal. She's bubbly and really so charming to meet in person. She looks at you directly when asked a question. I like her. I'm sure you would too so please do watch My Lady Boss as soon as it comes out of theaters. This is produced by GMA Films and Regal Films.

Experience Clawdaddy and New Orleans at Robinsons Magnolia!

Saturday, February 09, 2013

It's been a while since I've been to Robinson's Magnolia. I wanted to check out new places there and with a struck of luck I've stumbled upon 2 restaurants on the back end of the mall. It's Clawdaddy and New Orleans; my first time here and it was a treat seeing lots of things that I never thought would be available right in my neighborhood. Pretty neat stuff!

Clawdaddy's Great American Picnic

Clawdaddy has been around for a few years. I was able to visit their other stores in Davao at the Clawdaddy's Great American Picnic SM Lanang Premier, Bonifacio High Street and Nuvali but never knew that they would open up branch in Robinsons Magnolia. Their menu consists of mostly Cajun and Southern elements and their execution is authentic. I love their clam chowder and ribs so that's what I ordered that evening. It's my comfort food actually and I really love the spice base in this americana region. Photos from my iPhone5 don't do justice but you get a pretty decent view no?

To make amends, here's a short video on this nice chunk of meat which is one of their best sellers!

You just have to go there and taste it! Other than that you can also drop by the other section of their store called New Orleans. I think they are managed by one restaurant group so it's really nice you get to see these guys give you a taste of both establishments without moving around. It's all there!

Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs 2013!

Friday, February 08, 2013

What does make a song a huge hit?

Well for starters, it's got to be a union between the song writer, arranger, producer and the singer. Now how do you know the song is great? You gotta have the proper venue to show it. That's were the Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs competition comes in.

It's 2013 and it's time to discover more talents, so when this songwriting competition called in entries... a total of about 2,500 people from all over the Philippines and other countries that have Pinoys sent their songs; and by golly wow it was really a huge turnout. We were able to see the finalists a few days ago and judging from the ones who got in, it looks promising.

The Piano

I grew up with a pretty musical family. I've been blessed to have seen my relatives careers flourish in Christian, Pop or mainstream music. The bug didn't get to bite me though and I wish it did instead of pressing me pressing keyboards now. Regrets? I do have some but I don't discount the fact that life in general has been good to me. It makes me realize I have so many things to be thankful for but in hindsight, it would have been nice to have seen me in this field too.

I tried to get music lessons when I was a kid in this piano but it was really difficult. Reading notes, knowing when to press keys and getting to follow a certain scale was all a blur to me. I even got enough money to purchase Yamaha Used Pianos which I wanted to buy and play alone in my room but my folks didn't see I need one. I even joined a band in college. I had a nice taste of what it felt to be in that situation. It felt good... and I knew that in some small way I was already realizing my dream. It may be simple to some but for me it was all I needed to get in touch with my musicality. Today I don't really have a band anymore but I have been good friends with my band mates. I think I gained more than what I bargained for and I was able to still write songs even at this day and age. I am happy something still came out of it; and for that I am truly thankful that even if I don't play that piano anymore, I have my friends and songwriting to make me feel grounded. Music and I might not have been good buddies but the experience was precious. Today, we're planning to sell this family heirloom. I wish whoever gets to have this in their living room would make great use for it and later on, a family inclined with music too. Blessed be.

Biggest Branch in the Philippines: J.CO Donuts and Coffee Eastwood City!

I love donuts! Obviously I do! But on this neighborhood of mine there's one place I often pass by that I don't really get. That place is J.CO Donuts and Coffee! I don't understand why there were long lines. I don't understand why people were so drawn to their donuts. Is it really that good? Well, my questions were answered when we were invited to the BIGGEST branch in the Philippines right here at the heart of my turf! It's the formal opening of J.CO Donuts and Coffee Eastwood City!

Executives of J. Co Donuts and Coffee Philippines Mr. Edgar Sia, Vice Chairman of J.Co,CFI; Mr. Kevin Tan, (son of Andrew Tan) is the Vice President for Megaworld's Commercial Division, Mr. Johnny Andrean the Founder of J.CO Donuts and Coffee Worldwide and Mr. Carlos Chan Chairman, CFI

It was also attended by Executives from J. Co Philippines, their guests, people from the media and the blogging industry. To make the day extra fun, they got the one and only good looking guy on RX 93.1 Gino Quillamor to host the event. He really loves em donuts! =)

I wonder if they had a Red Velvet variant, I know! (he can't help it when it's that!) =)

The founder of J.CO Donuts and Coffee himself Johnny Andrean went to the stage and said some inspiring words to the owners and staff of this establishment. He's a very humble guy and he's quite impressed that the Philippines has a very large following too of this brand. He didn't know it would grow this big coming from the first branch he put up in Jakarta, Indonesia years ago. He knows there are still some complaints that they have been receiving from some parts of the country and said that they will put up more branches on major establishments soon. They will also be venturing in some provinces so the rest of the Pinoy's can actually taste the delectable, wonderful donuts J.CO is known for!

Sabrina's I Love Acoustic 5

Wednesday, February 06, 2013

I love Sabrina. You probably know by now how successful she is because for most guys who adore listening to acoustic songs, she's the "IT" girl and why not; she's the best in class. I am so fortunate to know a dear person like her. She's so charming, down to earth and sweet. I downloaded her music the day it came out off the iTunes Store here because I've waited for this since she got her other album (Sabrina's Acoustic Love Notes) out which she collaborated with Joe D' Mango months ago.

She treated us with a couple of songs from her previous albums and told us more about how she's doing now. She's got multiple platinum awards mind you in Indonesia. The Asian region adores "The Asian Acoustic Sweetheart"
