2 and a Half Daddies

The BIGGEST stars from the Kapatid Network all came forth and presented in what seems to be also the BIGGEST offering this first quarter. Imagine the names Robin Padilla, Rommel Padilla and BB Gandanghari in one fun, amusing, action comedy show that will make you laugh so hard this coming January 24. This Saturday, you must see "2 1/2 Daddies" and see what it's all about. Ms. Celia Rodriguez even dubbed this as the show that will end all shows because she's seen how the rapport of these Padilla siblings and their antics both on and off camera. They also showed some clips during the launch, and I must say, it's going to be very promising. How will the brusko Robin, the smooth talking Rommel and fashown Bb Gandanghari be if they become instant Fathers in this series? Well you've got to see it to believe it on Saturday. I'm telling you, you'll love it!

Mac and Chiz Derek Ramsey
Okay ladies, you can drool now! It's Derek Ramsay!

Mac and Chiz Derek Ramsey
You can also start wiping your mouth, coz you're going to be seeing him and his twin brother. No it's not him!

Mac and Chiz Derek Ramsey

Derek Ramsay will star on this show with good looking twin Empoy in a one of a kind, twist of fate, hit by lightning kind of comedy that will start on January 25, that's on Sunday. If you have any violent reactions on how Empoy ended up as Derek Ramsay's real twin brother in this series, you are hereby summoned to see it this weekend. They'll also be with the funny John Lapuz and the beautiful Bianca King. You must see how Empoy destroy or make the lives of his long lost brother happier with his antics in this modern sibling rivalry show. Who will end up wooing the girls? How will it make us realize that we're lucky to have the ones we have at home? You better watch Mac & Chiz or else, you'll be as good looking as Empoy this weekend. Oh boy you're going to be lucky if that happens!

TV5's Offerings On Wattpad Presents This 2015!

Wattpad Presents
Carlo Guevarra

TV5 this 2015 will be giving you shock and awe as they come out with new series via Wattpad Presents that you will surely love! During the launch, we saw one of Eula Caballero's love interest in last year's staging of Almost a Cinderella Story which had a very successful run with Carl Guevarra. They're going to have another Wattpad Presents series but it'll be now together with former PBB Housemate Bret Jackson, another prized male star in the stable of Viva. I think they'll be doing a couple of shows and more in the Kapatid network and it's Bret Jackson and Eula Caballero's turn in this week's mini series entitled "Trip In Love or Fall In Love" which sparked quite a buzz already on social media. There's no doubt that these good looking lads are giving Wattpad Presents the needed exposures they need and it shows on social media reactions lately. They love the pairing, they love the stories and they can't wait to see how these all ends. This year though, Carl will be paired with Isabelle De Leon, one of TV5's Trenderas. Will the formula work for their show you think?

Wattpad Presents
Bret Jackson
Bret Jackson is no stranger to these programs because he's also starred in the Kim Chiu - Xian Lim movie "Bakit di ka crush ng crush mo?" and pretty soon will be part of a film opposite with rumored real life sweetheart Andi Eigenmann. By the way, you should watch his guesting during Papa Jack's show because he'll have a tell all including relationships he had recently. He's actually a very nice guy and we sat down with him a but during the TV5 first quarter program launch.

TV5 Launches "Call Me Papa Jack" and "Rising Stars Philippines!"

Have you seen the lineup of shows that TV5 is coming out this 2015? If not, then this is your lucky day. We attended the launch a few days ago and got first hand information about the new programs they're planning to show this first quarter. It's epic because there are tons of artists and superstars that have gone to the Kapatid network, ultimately to bring you even better lineups this year as they challenge GMA, I think I heard from them a clear message that they are going to claim the second spot this year, and why not, they've been third place for quite a while and it's not bad to claim a goal right? Haha. Anyway, here's what transpired during that evening.

Oh yes! It's Papa Jack!

On the video screen I saw a familiar face (he wasn't there, apparently he was on a team building trip in Boracay!). Papa Jack apparently jumped ship from that defunct program he had in GMA and will now be part of TV5. The radio show is now on TV and he's still not going to hold back on giving love advise as he's pretty much known for that. He's also going to interview a ton of TV5's artists so you better watch out for the first few episodes that will include a tell all on their love problems, yes, all on air! I can't wait to see how he's going to put these guys and gals on the spot once it shows on the Kapatid channel. It's going to be entitled "Call Me Papa Jack!" every Saturday night. Now isn't that something to look forward to? Well that's not all of it, there's more!

Ogie Alcasid

If you love singing in the confines of your bathroom, your room, or just about anywhere that there's Videoke, then this new show from TV5 is for you. It's called Rising Stars Philippines and it's going to be hosted by Ogie Alcasid, Venus Raj and Mico Aytona. It's going to show on February but will hold auditions nationwide, even in the smallest barangays. I have seen the one in Trinoma lately and they're still open. If you don't want to audition there, download the app on Google Play store or visit RisingStars.ph and enter the competition from there. One entry per contestant and you don't have to lineup like other shows. Who knows, you might just win something big if you get to be the ultimate Rising Star! It's going to be on February 28 and run until May so you've got to get your vocal chords ready and read my other article here for the gist. Who knows, your dream to stardom might just come true! Again, there's more!

Coca Cola Philippines Wins US Government's ACE

Tuesday, January 20, 2015

US Ambassador Philip Goldberg (center) together with Director of HR and Corporate Affairs of Coca Cola Femsa Philippines Juan Carlos Rodriguez (left) and Atty. Adel Tamano the VP for Public Affairs and Communications for Coca Cola Philippines accepting the US State Department's Award for Corporate Excellence last December at Sofitel Manila..

Coca Cola Philippines just got the Secretary of State's Award for Corporate Excellence for their efforts in relief and rehabilitation during Typhoon Yolanda. US Ambassador Philip Goldberg gave them the award in ceremonies done in Sofitel Manila and received by VP for Public Affairs and Cimmunications Atty. Adel Tamano.

Coca Cola Philippines was one of the first few companies to respond for calls to help with the crisis as Western and Central Visayas was hit by Typhoon Haiyan and donated around 2.5 Million US dollars from its main office. It was given to various relief, humanitarian efforts and partnerships with the Philippine Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity. They also pooled donations and volunteers during this time so they could address basic needs like water, nutrition and education.

They suspended all advertising for Christmas and realigned programs so they could rechannel the funds for the same purpose. Right now, they are implementing programs like the Agos Ram Water Pump (to help improve water quality and sanitation), the NutriJuice Program (to help 35,000 school children from malnutrition), and Little Red School House (built 300 classrooms to benefit thousands of kids in the province) plus a 5by20 Program so they would be economically empowered women entrepreneurs and provide 1000 sari sari stores in the province of Leyte. They also partnered with USAID for the rehabilitation of ravaged stores in both Leyte and Samar. It helped ensure commerce, the flow of goods in the community which is a crucial part of bringing normalcy in the province. They also provided loans and programs for Negros Women of Tomorrow Foundation, Alternative Indigenous Development Foundation Inc. with the help of the Department of Education, Philippine Business for Social Progress and local government units among others.

Coca Cola Philippines is now one of three companies to win the Secretary of State's 2014 Award for Corporate Excellence. It's given to American companies to recognize leadership and commitment to innovation, responsible practices and positive contributions to local economies. Congratulations to you guys and I hope I get to visit your plant again soon!

Public Advisory From Our Friends at Smart

Wondering why there's no signal on your phone lately? Why is there no Internet too? Are you near in some places where Pope Francis is celebrating mass in Manila? Well if you put two and two together, you probably know why. We got this notice from our friends from Smart and Sun Cellular.

"Public Advisory :

In compliance with government orders, Smart and Sun Cellular have temporarily suspended mobile phone services in parts of Metro Manila that His Holiness Pope Francis will hold his activities today. This includes the University of Santo Tomas (UST), the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta Park and other areas of Metro Manila. This is part of comprehensive efforts to ensure the safety of the Pope and the public."

So you should understand, this is for the security of his holiness. Bear with it for a few days. Let us pray that he's going to be safe while he's here and when he goes back to the Vatican.

Boardwalk's Fresh Start

Saturday, January 17, 2015

Boardwalk just came out with their best collection yet during the Boardwalk Fresh Start event in Luxent Hotel in Quezon City. The social enterprise and retail giant has come out with lovely and cute shirts, colorful dresses and fashionable basics to start of what seems to be a better year for them already. I've been following them since they've been working with Asia's Most Influential Designer Avel Bacudio and seen how much they've been able to transform the brand into a savvy, classy yet very reachable by the general public because they believe that fashion should be for all. Aside from helping the community by helping them achieve their own businesses, they are also helping bright and promising designers in making them a part of the business model developed in the last 23 years.

Let's watch the show!

They started off with some statement and couple shirts that can be worn both by teens in bright blue, hot pink colors and big graphics in the front. It fulfills the purpose of still being playful, happy and form fitting for those who just wants something attractive yet very simple to use everyday, or when you're going out with that special someone. Some of it can also be used for wedded couples if you would like to show off the ring right after the wedding.

Damian Lillard's "D LILLARD 1" for adidas

Sorry for going off tangent with the story this week after all those Pope Francis posts, but I've gotta say, I would love to have this new Damian Lillard shoe that I saw from adidas. The hard working player from Portland Trailblazers launched the D LILLARD 1 at the "Dame Love The Fans" event at the adidas village. Fans from all around the US were invited through their social media channels on this exclusive event.

My entire life I’ve dreamed of having my own signature shoe. I’ve worked so hard throughout my basketball career and with the support of my family, teammates and fans I’ve been able to get to a point where I’m fortunate enough to achieve that dream.  Being in Portland and having such a great, close relationship with everyone at adidas and my fans really makes the shoe representative of who I am on and off the court” says Damian.

The shoe by the way is carrying thr Damian Lillard logo withi his initials DL fused together into a letter "O" which represents Oakland, Ogden (where he attended the university), and Oregon. He's also included "Fly Guyz" a name they donned for his close group and family. Robbie Fuller, adidas' Basketball  Design Director says "We were lucky to have been able to talk with him and include what he personally wants in his footwear. We delivered a shoe thay speaks to him as a player and as a person."

The D Lillard 1 is going to be launched at adidas stores in "Rip City" and "Purple" edition this February and is priced at Php 5695.00. Additional colors will also be released soon so watch out for that!

Sun Cellular Gives More Good Choices with TRINET 300 and UTT30

I miss Angel Locsin. I never got the chance to interview her lately. I bet she's pretty busy with the Darna comeback slated this year. Anyway, it's pretty good to see her now in Smart and Sun Cellular ads like these that tell us great news how to save a lot with their plans.

Take a look at this TRINET300 for example. You can send unlimited texts to Sun, Smart and TNT numbers, 5 hours of calls, unlimited Facebook access that's valid for 30 days. To avail of this, just text TRINET300 to 247. Or if you prefer a shorter period of time, you can do the UNLI TRIO 30 so you can get unlimited texts to Sun, Smart and TNT numbers, 30 minutes of calls to the same networks, unlimited Facebook access that's valid for 3 whole days. You can opt for this by texting UTT30 to 247 as well. If you want to check it out, you can visit SUN's website here.

Now it's even easier to save a buck or two for the good choice in network services, of course it's Sun Cellular!

How to be Smart During Pope Francis' Visit

It was a sight to behold when Pope Francis arrived in the Philippines. From the moment the plane landed, to the short peek at the plane's window, to the cute wind that blew his cap and the kids dancing on the airbase and the fast Pope Mobile bringing him into the Papal Nunciature (or if Noli can actually pronounce that). Filipinos, young and old all lined up the streets to see Lolo Kiko in the flesh without any hitches, and all we need to do in the coming days is to be extra ready when it comes to ourselves, our gadgets and emergencies. Crowds like these definitely calls for it.

Safety

If it's okay not to bring kids to the occasion, try not to. A crowd would be a nightmare if you don't have enough people to take care of the kids. I got lost in a shopping mall once, it was just good that I was trained quite at an early age to look for guards or police in case I did get lost. It was scary for me back then so imagine how it would feel for your kids today. I don't want to scare you. If you are still going, make sure you have enough medicine, emergency kits, bring ID for everyone, enough water and food if you are planning to stay in the lines a long time. Plan ahead and look for comfort rooms, parking and again, don't lose the kids.

Charge your mobile phones

Do not go out of your house without charging your gadgets, phones, power banks and make sure it'll last you the whole day. Turn off data or put it on Airplane Mode if not needed. Use it when necessary, like meeting people, telling your location, calling or texting people you're with so they too get updated.

Download Useful Apps and Maps

If you haven't used WAZE, now is the right time to do so. It can get you to the places faster, better, and you can save locations too. You can also download Google Maps for obvious reasons, then make some of it available offline so that when the time comes you lose internet, you don't have to worry. You can download the Waze app on Google Play Store, Apple App Store and Windows Phone Store for FREE if you are a Smart, TNT and Sun Cellular subscriber. Some Apps like Waze as well as a couple of websites can be used for free with Smart's EXTENDED Free Internet promo. All you gotta do is text FREE to 9999. You can also text DEARPOPE to the same number and have FREE Twitter service from January 15-19, 2015. Isn't that amazing?

If you're a more safety freak, you can download the Batingaw App which turns your mobile device into a flashlight, siren, compass and radio. It's free on Google Play and Apple App store. Your friends or relatives can also receive “I am safe” messages as it's one of the app's feature that you can enable with one tap on your phone.Else, you can enable the Smart Person Finder if you want to make sure to locate friends or relatives. It's available for Smart and Talk ‘N Text (TNT) subscribers but in order to use it, the person you want to locate must first allow you to locate him/her.  To ask permission, text FIND and send to 386.  They'll get your request for authorization and once you get it, just text FIND  to get their location. You must never use this on cheating boyfriends though. LOL! Oh and remember to put people on your speed dial, it helps!

Oh and it's still a few days to enjoy the company of Lolo Kiko aka Pope Francis. Head on to www.dearpopefrancis.ph while you're at it and make him a postcard will you? Tweet as well and use the hashtag #DearPopeFrancis and be part of the once in a lifetime Papal Visit. Hopefully more!

Marjorie Uy Re-Launches LivingMarjorney.com

Thursday, January 15, 2015

This afternoon, I rushed to Greenwich SM North Edsa to be with some blogger friends and Marjorie Uy, author of LivingMarjorney.com. She's turning a new page and introducing a fresher, simpler website that she'll be calling Woman In Digital to replace her former one - so she'd be a but easier to remember, lovelier to campaign for seo purposes too. The rebranding comes after new Digital Marketing Agency Digital Circles will be handling her together with her husband Jonel Uy as the firm's head.

Marjorie says "This has been in the plans for quite a while now and it's just this year that it materialized. You'll see better personal, home and living, lifestyle, events and review posts from me in this new domain. This event was just a simple  thanksgiving for everyone, readers and brands who have been supporting me all these years. We'll probably venture into videos too later on as we get serious about what I enjoy most - all these years of blogging!" and I can't wait to see what's in store for her this 2015!

Congratulations Marj! Cheers to Woman In Digital!
