PH Contact Center Industry Lauded by Government
Thursday, September 30, 2021
A tough and brazen partner in economic recovery, the local contact center industry was praised by the Philippine government for its efforts in making sure business is moving and for being resilient during the pandemic.
The Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry says "We have seen your work despite the huge challenges of COVID-19, the third quarter of this year shows IT-BPM's recovery. It had posted moderate growth and is steadily rising in the last few months." This was mentioned during the Contact Islands '21 session on "Government and Private Partnership: Road to Recovery".
IATF Karlo Nograles also attests on how the IT-BPM industry has continued to lead in employment generation even on the countryside. He also mentions how Filipino IT-BPM workers have remained competitive and remain to be a crucial part of how we could transition to the new normal. CCAP Chair Benedict Hernandez reiterated how it is crucial for IT-BPM firms to have backing from the government as the industry was classified to be essential during these times and keep support intact for clients and keep their employees employed too. CCAP President Jojo Uligan on the other hand thanks the government for listening to the sector so they could remain in operation and complete procedures on protocols in work from home arrangements, so it would stay safe during these times. Lopez also said that the contact center and IT BPM industry continue to implement programs and reforms to continue the drive towards economic recovery. He's also keen this would create more opportunities and satisfy patrons even if needs are changing locally and internationally.
Cardinal Santos Medical Center: The Good Things About Minimally Invasive Surgery
Saturday, February 06, 2021
I am part of the population of Filipinos who would never want to undergo surgery. It creeps me out, and those medical series produced in the US doesn't really help especially if there are very graphic images which I'm sure real doctors are quite used to. They're real heroes, even at the time of the pandemic they're at the hospitals and are making sure the medical needs of Filipinos are sufficiently given. It's a noble profession.
With the advancements in technology, we now have a choice. The Cardinal Santos Medical Center earlier held a webinar and press conference to tell us about the wonders of Minimally Invasive Surgery. In the past, it would take a lot of effort to operate on people especially in the torso. Hospitals across the country already use this technology but not all have been educating ordinary joes. CSMC knows how it is vital to inform the public of the procedure as it is better than the old ways. This webinar was entitled as "Why Less Is More: 10 Things To Know About Minimally Invasive Surgery."
Distinguished men and women who spoke at the webinar include Dr. Alfred Allen Buenafe the Executive Director of Cardinal Santos Philippine Center for Advanced Surgery (the prime MIS training center in the Philippines) , Dr Zenaida Javier-Uy who is the Chief Medical Officer, and Dr. Jaideep Raj Rao the Senior Consultant and General and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeon of Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital in Singapore.
Dr. Rao supported this and says "Doing minimal invasive surgery gets similar or even better results. The trauma on the human body is less so recovery is much faster."
During the event, several patients who have undergone the procedure also gave their testimonies, of which mostly all healed faster than what is predicted. Cardinal Santos Medical Center wants this to be more accessible to Filipinos, starting with the Philippine Center for Advanced Surgery Training Center so more people can have access to world-class training here in the country.

TrueMoney Centers Has Got 1 Million Served!
Monday, November 13, 2017
Now they've got payment and e-commerce centers in different provinces like North, South and Central Luzon, far flung areas in Mindanao but considers these areas as their starting points. They are still growing and steadily looking for partner centers. Imagine, they've got the lowest rates for domestic remittances which goes to about 2% compared to other existing competitors that have 3-10% which is unreal. They sometimes even charge the recipient which is not a good thing. Like if you send through them now Php 1,000, they would only charge Php 20 for that. Isn't that good news?
85 Years of Ortigas & Co. and Greenhills Shopping Center Christmas On Display
Saturday, November 12, 2016
Ortigas and Company is also celebrating their 85th year and to start off the celebration, they coordinated with the city of San Juan, some nearby schools and a couple of day care centers to get kids to watch the show for FREE right at the mall's parking lot. In the past, we used to watch these shows along a busy street cordoned off so we could still watch from the sidelines, but Greenhills actually reserved a place to watch it all, a very nice gesture.
Thanks Ortigas and Company for having us during the launch! It was so cool!
