CATRIONA GRAY, Gilas Pilipinas Players, Announced As FIBA Local Ambassadors

Friday, August 26, 2022

Hearing that the FIBA Basketball World Cup is happening in the Philippines is already a huge deal for me. Filipinos are the biggest fans of it in the world, you can tell why as much of the streets are lined with basketball courts, big or small, just so we could have somewhere to play they game we absolutely love.

Yesterday was also extra special as SBP (Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas), FIBA and various affiliates introduced the local FIBA Ambassadors consisting of former Gilas Pilipinas players and the one and only Miss Universe Catriona Gray.

Here's what happened that morning

During the event, they also announced the simultaneous start of the Tissot Time in the Philippines, Indonesia and Japan.  This means there's only "one year to go" before FIBA matches starts. They also have hinted that there will be a FIBA Global Ambassador later this year. This is also the first time in FIBA's history to see three countries hosting the games, with the Philippines heading the pack. They also mentioned that the local ambassadors wouldn't be the only ones to help disseminate information about the games, because YOU can be part of that too. You may start joining the community by registering here https://register.worldcup.basketball so you could get early bird rates on tickets and Superfan packages.

What's also touching is that they plan to identify several basketball courts around the country that they will adopt so they could fix, restore and make them a project for the ambassadors together with the FIBA players, making sure they also get to see the culture and what Filipinos are known for, the heart filled hospitality.

Stay tuned for more updates about the games, plus the time they're raffling off the countries battling it out in the FIBA Basketball World Cup!

Filipino Actor LEO CONSUL Takes Indonesia by Storm and Releases Single NO PUEDO

Saturday, November 13, 2021

Leo Consul is making waves again in Indonesia. The man who hosted in Eat Bulaga's Indonesian franchise is now doing acting roles. He is part of Terpaksa Menikahi (Forced Marriage) and Love Story. He's also gone doing movies in our ASEAN neighbor. Aside from that, he just released a song this year entitled "NO PUEDO".

Leo Consul is a native of Bolinao Pangasinan and he pursued a career as an English teacher in an international school in Indonesia. His passion being in the entertainment industry was really a calling, he started doing auditions and made the cut.

He says "It took me a couple of years to learn Bahasa. I had to learn it fast because of Eat Bulaga Indonesia. English wasn't widely use, it takes a while but I understand everything now. Before I did the series, I just had a few sessions. I learned theatre from school. I also watched Korean dramas, which it was patterned from. I did shows, which I also hosted. I have also been given shows wherein I didn't have to auditioned anymore because they trusted me with what I do. I tried to join around 2007, I used to host a travelling show in a regional ABSCBN show. I also auditioned for Starstruck, Pinoy Dream Academy. Honestly speaking, when I came to Indonesia, I was really appreciated, but it worked out in the end... because I was probably meant to be here at first. If I didn't get opportunities in the Philippines, I was lucky to be in in Indonesia. I do get compared with Piolo and Inigo Pascual, and I am honored when people tell me that."

Ladies, he's single... and says "Yes we just broke up, we couldn't cope with the distance. What helped me a lot was doing the series, I just focused on it and everything was good. I hope the next one is the serious one, I'm not getting any younger anymore and I hope we have the same goals, and not that complicated anymore."

If you want to see his work, go stream his single NO PUEDO in streaming sites worldwide. You can also see his music video on YouTube today. He's raring to have his own Filipino career and with Cornerstone by his side, it'll be possible.

Hannah Precillas Releases New EP and Carrier Single "Munting Hiling"

Tuesday, May 25, 2021

Seeing Hannah Precillas now reminded me how talented the lass is. After shocking a whole lot of Pinoys via GMA's Bet Ng Bayan (Champion) and Indonesians in her stint at D'Academy wherein she got 3rd Place (out of 35 world class singers from around the world), she's now a certified recording artist and queen of drama soundtracks in the country.

GMA and their social media platforms this week has been teasing all of us with a new single that's going to be released today, but that's not all of it. These are actually several songs made into an EP (Extended Play) Album and will include Hiram na Sandali, Awit Kay Inay, Sabi ko na nga Ba and this carrier single Munting Hiling which you can all stream on Spotify and other streaming sites.

We also had a chat with her a couple days ago and touched on a few things about her. Here's part of that interview, so please, enjoy!

Aside from that, Hannah revealed "I've loved the songs I did for Ika Anim na Utos and if ever I had to do one again, I'd be glad to. Right now, I spend a lot watching KDramas and I hope I get to see it in GMA and do songs for that as well. I'd want to hopefully do a duet with Julie Anne San Jose, and Kyline Alcantara for dance, we're all doing Tiktok these days and it's good to do that. I think my lucky charm is Bianca Umali, any series I've done with her is like magic, very teenager, but now she's a woman. I want to see her delve into those roles, a perfect theme song for that would be Hiram na Sandali. For a leading man, I'd like Kristoffer Martin to be it. Perhaps, Kyline can be also a great anti hero, that's if I'd be allowed to cast people for a series. I feel Kyline and I are fierce."

It's so magical that Hannah also has recorded these songs right at the comforts of her home and says "I've invested in recording and studio equipment so I would be able to do the same things in a professional studio, yes there are challenges like the regular rooster noise but I've learned to adapt and work during the pandemic. I do hope things would become normal soon so singers like me would be back on stage to perform for people, which I absolutely love.". No less than the master Vehnee Saturno also have written three of these songs. I've also had the chance to hear her sing during the blogcon and by the looks of it, we see a bright future for this powerful singer. I am in awe!

Hannah Precillas Vies for Dangdut Competition in Indonesia

Monday, November 25, 2019

Kath Castillo, Hannah Precillas, Kai Atienza

The last time I saw her was during a press conference with GMA Records and JU Entertainment. Hannah Precillas (photo in the middle) is currently in Indonesia competing as one of the country's representatives in the singing competition called “Dangdut Academy Asia 5.”

She’s actually doing so good and is right now part of the top 16 finalists. The comments alone in YouTube signify she deserves a top spot in the competition. Even if she’s singing in a language she’s not quite familiar with, the Indonesian viewers felt how much she’s just enjoying the competition while displaying her pipes. She’s not asking much but your support in witnessing her journey in this singing competition. She’s already done a lot, go rush to the comments section of her YouTube videos and cheer for her will you?!

Congratulations Hannah! You’re doing the country proud, now go get that championship for the Philippines!

Wednesday, February 24, 2016

You must be wondering where in the world is Christian Bautista? The good looking balladeer has left the country this season to take his music in a back to back Valentines Concert in Indonesia where the Asia's Romantic Balladeer swooned his fans in that side of the world.

He performed together with Bunga Citra Lestari in a show entitled "Romantic Valentine Concert" at the Coliseum Club in Jakarta, then also performed on Valentines day at Alia Hotel in Solo, Indonesia. He was also busy during this trip as he had to appear in 3 different local television shows that includes Sarah Sechan, NETTV's local version of Ellen Degeneres. He also guested and had an interview with Merry Riana of Sonora FM 92, one of their local stations. In the same week, he also appeared in Trans TV where he gave a glimpse of his career in the Philippines and Indonesia and talked about himself for his countless fans in the region. If you may have remembered, Christian walked for Bench a couple of years ago and have acheived a really good physique, so he also shared a couple of his fitness routines, and diet so they could also learn about it.

Christian gave them a show and included "The Way You Look at Me", "Since I Found You" and "Fixing a Broken Heart" in his repertoir to the delight of his throng of fans in Indonesia. They love Christian as much as we do.

The ASUS ZenPower 10,050 mAh Power Bank

Friday, June 05, 2015

Meet the the ASUS ZenPower 10,050 mAh Power Bank. This currently costs Php 795.00 in the market and has impressed me and a lot of people in the tech industry. I saw this when I was in Indonesia when the Zenfone 2 was launched and the delegates pretty much wanted to take it home. As for it's size, it's pretty small and since it's quite near the other brand's 10,400mAh power bank, this definitely is better sized as it is as small as a credit card. It's thicker than a card obviously but since it's smaller form factor, it just means you get more POWER for its size.

I talked to a power bank manufacturer a couple of months ago and there has been a huge proliferation of fake powerbanks in the Philippines which are imported from you know where. They use old laptop batteries and get those parts from trash to make counterfeit powerbanks. This is probably the same things you see in the sidewalk sold for a couple pesos. This might work sometimes and will probably have repercussions in the long while. The over current, the under supply of it and the wrong output will not only put your gadgets at risk, but your lives. I've seen phones burst first hand because they kept it so long with the charger. Now what if that happened while you're at home, would you like your house to burn down? Exactly my point, which goes to my other point about the ASUS ZenPower 10,050 mAh Power Bank.

ASUS employs on these devices what they call ASUS PowerSafe Technology. It's proprietary technology that makes every ASUS ZenPower cabaple of watching the temperature, control input and output voltages so your devices won't get broken. It also prevents short circuits so you're assured being safe while you charge your devices. This is also expected to last around 1.8 times more than the competing power bank brand. It's also certified by 6 international safety organizations so when you own an ASUS ZenPower, you don't have to worry!

ASUS also assures there's going to be plenty for everyone! Honestly, I was given the other brand during a petrol brand's launch. The thing never worked and once I connected it to my iPhone, it didn't work anymore and I was carrying it around thinking it would become better over time... it only became worse. Now that I have the ZenPower, I can charge my iPhone twice and a little more for emergency. That alone is reassuring. It's available in different colors like gold, silver (this one that I'm using) and others. It's sleek, light, and can save you so many times in a single day. I carry it around as another one as spare and I haven't even used that one yet because this one's efficient. If you're out looking for a power bank, please consider this one before you go elsewhere. After all, it's from ASUS!

IFLIX is Coming

Wednesday, April 29, 2015

You must be dreaming of good things that will come to the country, and by a stroke of luck,  the entertainment gods listened so here comes the long awaited streaming service called IFLIX. Yes! They are finally going to be in the Philippines.

IFLIX is a video on demand service. You can probably compare this with NetFlix in the US but it is still a start up company. It's got it's base covered by PLDT, among other investors and people that is. It's also listed in the Australian and Malaysian stock market if I'm not mistaken, and backed up by the CATCHA group who's executives are part of some of the who's who of Hollywood production houses, technology groups too. They're pretty much designing the platform and service to fit the Southeast Asian market and - you and me.

During this very intimate launch, they told us that they're having around 10,000 hours of content in the system, including some of your favorite movies, shows, and series. They've got some of the biggest production companies signed up and if this becomes a norm in the Philippines and our other Southeast Asian neighbors, they'll be changing the landscape of video streaming services in the country.

IFLIX is bringing the best of Hollywood into our region. I also heard that they're doing this in unbelievable fashion. It'll be priced to stream per month and there will be availability to download it for mobile handsets which would be better for carrying around rather than use your data caps per network provider. They're also be offering the subscriptions in jaw dropping prices, which they'll be announcing as soon as everything is rolled out!

IFLIX is COMING, and they'll be knocking on your doors pretty soon. I can't wait to test it my self.

ASUS Launches ZenFone 2 for Southeast Asia

Thursday, April 23, 2015

It was an awesome trip indeed! We had to go to Jakarta, Indonesia to witness the Southeast Asian launch of the ASUS ZenFone 2 and their other products. Yes, it's the phone that is rumored to beat all the competition in its class. It's my first time here so it was something I was definitely looking forward to. I've heard so many things about this place. Jakarta has its own charm, a little dated but they prove to be true to their heritage, a history that dates back centuries rooted in religion, built with wars and culture.

As with ASUS, they sternly believe that in order to become great, they have to do the legwork in making the best phones specs wise but have it affordable that most consumers would be able to get one when it finally comes out of the electronic shelves (rumored to be May). It looks kind of simple on paper but in real life, designing a dream phone/phablet like this would cost an arm and a leg if they did it on their own. ASUS had partnerships with other manufacturers so they could get the best there is architecturally but keep the prices down since these components are made by the experts themselves. It's some sort of synergy, a meeting of minds where you make the best fit hardware for your mobile devices.
